I have a very dear friend who is like a second mother to me. She's in her mid 40's, and she was my teacher in high school. Since I graduated, we've been able to keep in touch, and guess what? She's switching careers! At 44! She seems to think she's burnt out on teaching - that the reason she had a passion for it was because she felt like she was helping kids. (She was the kind of teacher everyone went to when they had a problem they couldn't/didn't want to talk to their parents about.) So at my old school, she felt needed. But she said the other day that where she's teaching now, she feels purposeless. That's a tough emotion to swallow! So she's going back to school, to study sign language interpretation. (Like me!! That's cool! hehe) Anyway, just wanted you to know that you can do absolutely anything. Don't make excuses - God will give you what you lack! Love, Angela p.s. I'm so happy you found a church!!!!

Things here aren't going very well, and I'm not sure how often I'll be on the computer, but you'll be the first to know. Hey, I got your note. I wish there was something I could say, but there isn't. I don't have the gift of encouragement, I'm afraid, but I'm the kind of person that won't ever stop trying, even if I feel like I'm making no difference at all. I completely understand being painfully shy - believe it or not, I'm the same way. I come across so different in my diary, but that's only because I can sit and think about what I'm writing. There's no pressure, no one is staring at me -it's just easier. I also know what it's like to not have friends. I may only be 19, so I don't know how much any of this helps, but I really believe that God gave me my twin sister so that I wouldn't be completely alone in this world. Since I graduated high school, I've become a little more outgoing - partly because I was sick of being lonely, and partly because I had to do it to survive. I used to be so bad that I would panic just going up to pay for something at a store. Anyway, I wish you could see yourself through my eyes right now - you may think you're drowning, and that you're not doing a very good job as a Christian, but I see you completely different. I see someone who cares enough about being better that she never stops trying. I see someone who has so much faith that, even when God has been silent for so long, she still knows that He is there. Most people would just assume He'd left their side, and we both know that's not true. He loves you so much. Maybe, He wants you to be content being alone - just you and Him - before He'll bless you with certain relationships. Maybe He wants you to learn that to be happy, all you really need is Him. I just thought of a verse when I re-read your entry. You said you were lonely....do me a favor and look at the first part of Psalms 68:6. Even when you think you're alone, you're not. God places you in a "family" - you just have to find out where that is. Is it a family of other lonely people? Is it a family of close friends you have? Is it a family of believers in Christ? Whatever the case, God PLACED you there. For a reason. I pray for you...just thought I'd let you know. ~Angela~

Now it's all "3" of you reading this. LOL Thanks for your comment! As soon as I saw your name "woven-one" I knew I had to look your diary up, too. Nichole Nordeman is my all-time long reigning, world champion favorite female Christian singer. LOL I love her music. Anyway, you're not the only one depressed about the holidays - normally I love them, but my family's been arguing a whole lot lately, and today my grandmother "cancelled" thanksgiving. So I got up all excited, and now nowhere to go. That's sad, isn't it? Do you feel bad for me? One thing about me is I can usually keep a sense of humor about things, even when they're tough. I don't know your situation exactly, but I'm sorry you're so sad. I'll pray that God shows you exactly how much you have, instead of satan tricking you into believing you have nothing. Hi Shonda! Wow those entries on faith are so incredible. You are so right in saying that we should expect bumps in our lives to test our faith. I know, I've had my fair share of them in just my time writing this diary! But like you said, God doesn't bump us to see how much faith we have, He already knows, He wants us to know and work on it! You are just such an awesome girl of God Shonda. He has really blessed you with a spirit of love, a spirit of hope and a spirit of encouragement. Also you have shared this spirit with others which is very commendable. You know, the way you write in your diary, most people would think that you're a great preacher or something, that's what I think anyways! You could be the next Joyce Meyer! You diary always hits me in the right areas of my life, and I'm glad that it does. I didn't think this a long time ago, but now I kinda want God to bump me now and again, but not too hard! I want to have such great faith like those mentioned in Hebrews 11. You too have an amazing supply of faith, that is something worth mentioning. Continue to write more inspiring entries Shonda. Yes, that made perfect sense. You want to know how to do a link, i.e. "Do you remember that?" and linking on the "that". The html is very easy and you'll get the hang of it. I'm in a lot of fanlistings and link to anything and everything so it's pretty routine. Just put <a href="pagename.html">insert your word(s) here</a>. For example: "Do you remember <a href="01234_56">that</a>?" The space in between the first <a> and the last </a> is the area where the link will be. An additional tip: for linking to your own diary, it isn't necessary to put http://woven-one.diaryland... etc., etc. Just put the page name (after the .com business) - you know, the part with .html. BUT when linking to somewhere else, BE SURE to put http:// or else it will incorporate it into your diary and you'll end up with a nonexistant site! ;) So try it out with an entry and see if it works - be sure to try it out and perfect any mistakes! Any further questions - don't hesitate to ask! :D

OK, here's what you should do... Click on "Change your template", then on the entry page one, then find the area where the code for your notes and such that appear at the top of the page I would suggest putting it right next to notes, so in between the notes and friends html's. Put this code in, only put YOUR e-mail (this is mine!!)!!

That should do it - oh! And make sure you do the exact same thing to your "older entries" page on the "change your template" or else the template won't be the same on your archive page! Just a tip! Let me know if you have any troubles!! :D

I know what you mean - my friends and I decided to pray for the thief, that God would touch him and turn him around. Man, no wonder he didn't steal anything! He was probably scared away because he thought we were some kind of evangelists or something - he turns on the car and Christian music comes blasting out (he shut it off by the way... we noticed that when we got it back), then going through my stuff, the first thing he finds is a Bible, then a prayer journal with "Quiet Time With God" across the front, then all my Christian CD's, then my dad's "More Than a Carpenter" book, my mum's notes on "How to follow God's calling in your life"... lol!! ;) I will take a look at your template and figure out if there's something to do to add the e-mail!! E-mail's always a nice touch - I never thought anyone would e-mail me, too, but I ended up getting tons of e-mails from people at d-land here who saw my diary and wanted to leave me a nice long note - and probably also didn't want people eavesdropping on the conversation. I am soooo glad you changed your template, you can't even imagine!! It's so incredibly hard to leave you a note with those stupid d-land templates!! There's been so many times I've wanted to tell you something, but opted not to because it's so difficult to get to the notes page (especially since there isn't even a profile button on those!! ;p). I really like faith designs!! And I looove that template - I was thinking about using it myself, but I wanted something with buttons along the side - much easier to work with for me and to add more links to without completely messing up the template. Don't worry about being new - I was too not toooo long ago. I had lots of trouble with html, but I had help from a friend of mine. I love what you wrote today. I wrote a letter to my future husband, too, but it's not nearly so beautiful. I am writing all my struggles, my poems, my thoughts about him, and my talks to God concerning my purity (and the commitments I've made) and someday I'll let him read it, when he's my husband, to show him how I struggled, yet overcame, during my single years.
