from shevdevil :
Try the nuva ring - works for me and all my friends
from lindzeeleigh :
Another person just recommended the Book of Negros to me, so I am definitely wanting to read it even more now! As for a good pill to take, I was on Alesse for [8? 9?] years and it worked really well for me. My skin was good, no cramps, no weird side effects and it didn't make me feel crazy. It has been annoying going off it because I completely missed my period in March, but I think any pill will do that. Also, make sure you get the actual brand Alesse, not the generic one. I attempted to switch to the generic one in the winter [I think I wrote entries about this] and THEN is when I felt crazy. Now that you have stopped nursing, maybe it is is time to go back to the doctor and find out about not getting your period, although, the pill is supposed to help bring it on, so maybe that will help? You inspire me to want to run. If only I could love it like you do. Now give me a good power walk any day! p.s. The Memory Keeper's Daughter is SO good, you will love it. I think this comment is long enough now?? LOL!
from lindzeeleigh :
I really want to read that book now, thanks for suggesting it to me. And how is Alena almost one already? Where does the time go? I am glad you are settling in to your new home and going to new classes and adjusting. It is a lot of work and I know things will settle down soon. I have started a new blog: http://allingoodtiming.blogspot.com/ I hope you'll follow me there. i have set my DL to forward it when I update, so I hope it works! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Sending you big hugs! Enjoy your vacation and have a FANTASTIC time, you really deserve. Some rest, sun and time with your mom will do wonders i am sure. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Glad everything is working out so well! What is the 30 Day Shred?? Good luck with the trip and then moving into your new place in Halifax!
from greenergrass :
Aw - that is so beautiful. I know I've got some pockets around here somewhere too. Thanks for sharing K. Hugs - and have fun in Florida!!
from lindzeeleigh :
I love the pockets in wish to keep special memories. I love the way you worded it and all the examples you gave. Thanks for sharing that. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Good luck with the rest of the house stuff. What a pain in the arse, I hope it all gets sorted out. I also hope you are all feeling better for trip! It will be such a nice time!
from lindzeeleigh :
This is too cute, Kaitlyn! I love all the things Leila said....can we send an email? We eat Christ! LoL! Love it!
from blazingangel :
MoM of 4/psych major here, just found your page and it made me smile. I must say, kids say the darndest things :) ~Jes~
from lindzeeleigh :
YAY for a new house!! :) That is awesome. Good luck with all the packing. I really hate that part about moving.....the whole packing and unpacking is just not a lot of fun - especially with two kids I bet!! You have made me want to watch that show now. I will have to check it out!
from greenergrass :
Congratulations on your half!
from lindzeeleigh :
I loved reading your answers to the interview questions! :) It was also fun to come up with the questions for you. Good luck with the house tonight, I will be hoping it all goes well for you!!
from greenergrass :
hope things are okay too. xox
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope things are okay. I will miss your writing and be thinking of you and your family. Maybe you'll still do the interview questions?? I have them almost all done. I will email them to you or send them via facebook, whichever works for you. Take care and hugs to the kiddies! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
i know that some studies have been done that show that some addictions are hereditary. I think it depends on the type of addiction though. And I am living, breathing proof against some of those statistics, so what does that tell you?? :P
from ebombmom :
Hm. Definitely some hereditary component to addictions, though the actual medium may change from generation to the next. As for the biting, obvious question is, is she teething? Otherwise, does it coincide with your cycle? Sometimes they bite more when frustrated at slow letdown, or if they are just distractable. Don't give up, this too shall pass!
from lindzeeleigh :
That is a wonderful success story article!! :) Very well written and such an achievement!
from greenergrass :
fingers crossed you won! and on the house too - i'm sure something will work out, and am sending SELL vibes.
from lindzeeleigh :
I love the paragraph about the doctor! it made me laugh and the imagery was great I could picture it in my mind! :) Good luck with winning the lotto, wouldn't that be fabulous??
from shevdevil :
My PMS virtually disappeared after switching from the pill to the ring - although I still get mad cravings for chocolate I don't have the irritability, mood swings and shouting matches anymore...
from lindzeeleigh :
I am such a nerd!! After I posted that comment asking for the address of your fitness blog, I thought maybe she has it posted on her diary. Sure enough, the link was right there! Haha! I am one smart cookie. :P I am going to check it out asap! As for the pill trouble....which brand are you taking? Sometimes switching the kind can help, which I found out. I find that I am feeling a lot better now that I am not on the pill anymore! Maybe you should look into another form of bc if the pill might not be for you?
from krisbell :
have you considered an iud instead of the pill? they can take it out if you decide to have another baby...
from lindzeeleigh :
What is the address of your fitness blog again? I would like to go read but I can't remember it. This time I will bookmark it! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Great job on the run! I bet that will be a really cool photo that the photographer took! What class did you end up signing up for through Athabasca?
from lindzeeleigh :
A -40 windchill run?! You are a MUCH braver woman than I am, Kaitlyn! Congrats on the WW, that is so fantastic! You should be so proud of yourself. :)
from mrbradley :
Congratulation on your WW achievement. Good luck on the run!
from lindzeeleigh :
That is awesome about your trip! Enjoy some time with your brother and some alone time with yourself. :) You deserve it!
from shevdevil :
left you my email but didn't get the pswd now that you've locked. I check in every day and I'd really miss reading your entries. tinkerbell at luckynumber dot com
from lindzeeleigh :
Awesome entry, kaitlyn. :)
from creeksta :
when you get around to locking I would like a password. creeka AT gmail DOT com.
from lindzeeleigh :
I say go use your gift certificate and see if you can get yourself a nice black blazer. You will always wear it and it is something that won't go out of style. What is the meeting for? Enjoy your morning out!!
from ramanda :
You will never regret buying a well fitted black blazer. Throw it on with some black pants and a tshirt or tank top and you're good to go. It doesn't have to be a fancy suit style one. Even a more casual one made of twill or corduroy would work. A blouse will look more dressy than a sweater. The silver shirt doesn't sound quite right. Though I guess it depends what sort of meeting it is?
from lindzeeleigh :
I am glad you did that little year in a review as well. I thought it was a great idea. :) I hope you are able to update soon and that you will be able to get more things off your chest when you lock up so you don't worry about people stumbling here that you don't want to read.
from shevdevil :
Happy New Year :-) Would love to hear more of you, tinkerbell at luckynumber dot com.
from lindzeeleigh :
I can't believe '09 is here either! Yes, I would love the new password if you decide to lock up. Did you get my new password?? lindzeeleigh AT hotmail DOT com. :) Hope all is well. Happy new year!
from greenergrass :
Ack! Too cute! Merry Christmas to you and your adorable little ones as well.
from ebombmom :
What a great photo! Merry Christmas!
from arthursmummy :
Have a lovely Christmas, Kaitlyn! Hope your family gatherings go well and that you get a run to escape a little! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Merry Christmas, Kaitlyn! Hope you and Steve and the girls have a lovely time, even if it is a little bit different from what you remembered and know. I also hope Santa is good to you! xo
from lindzeeleigh :
Way to go, Kaitlyn!!
from ramanda :
Congrats! 25 pounds! Way to go!!
from shevdevil :
My friend works in a daycare and she always loved photos best, why not frame a lovely photo of Leila and add a thank you note? I'd only give to the ones she bonded with.
from lindzeeleigh :
I am sure Leila's daycare teachers would love to get something from her (you!). I know I like and appreciate all the little gifts I get. Like a Starbuck's giftcard, or a handmade card or a nice letter. Little words of encouragement like that go a long way. :)
from ramanda :
I think it makes sense to buy gifts for the teachers that are special to you and Leila. I'm sure you can get something nice for them for between $10 and $20. Never underestimate the joy of a Tim Horton's giftcard :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Great job on the race, that is an awesome time. I also think that is a nice tradition for you guys to do as a family every year. Enjoy your last little quiet time while Leila is still at daycare. I can understand why you are taking her out because it is for surely not cheap!
from creeksta :
Congratulations! I am so proud of you, even though I don't personally know you, I feel like I know you from visiting you here. Your girls are beautiful.
from bitterwineuk :
very well done on the weight and i cant believe alana is 6 months already.
from lindzeeleigh :
YAY! Awesome job! The Santa shuffle sound like a lot of fun! :)
from greenergrass :
beautiful pictures of your girls. and yes, the world is a scary place right now. as to politics - well i always liked stephane dion; he may not be the most articulate guy, but he was an excellent minister of the envt - his staff loved him. so although i am a bit saucer-eyed at the thought of a coalition, on reflection i like idea. the liberals failed to back dion and their interparty sniping was, imo, a major cause of his poor showing; now they're just setting him up as fall guy if this coalition fails. and if it doesn't he still won't get any credit because they'll replace him in a couple of months. poor guy. oh well, in another 10 years he'll be a hit on the speaker series and will have some cushy 'elder statesmen' job.
from arthursmummy :
How BEAUTIFUL your girls are!!! Such a precious letter for Alena's 6 month birthday (how can she be, by the way?!?!). She looks like such a sweet pea! xxx
from ebombmom :
Thanks for the encouraging words! I hope you figure out what the welty business is soon. Keep in mind it takes at least two full weeks to clear an allergenic food from the system, so it just might be dairy. Do the welts come up from the cold, by any chance? Also, hope you had a good night at WW! You're an inspiration. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Sending you lots of "sell your house" vibes!!
from ramanda :
Your Remembrance Day entry is beautiful. I thought of you guys when I had my moment of silence. Which I had to do in my car since my company doesn't mandate a moment of silence. Though they did send us an email that said they encouraged us to do so if we wanted. Lest we forget, indeed. I think you said it best when you said, "So have we forgotten or did we just not learn our lesson?"
from lindzeeleigh :
Your entry about Remembrance Day gave me shivers, Kaitlyn. I realize it must have been a defining moment for you and for Steve because he is leaving. It will definitely be a change in lifestyle and things like that. But that doesn't mean that you will ever forget all the others who did serve and will continue to serve , as you mentioned. It is a difficult time and there are difficult choices to make, but both of you needed to do what you felt was best in the long run. I thought of you guys on the 11th.
from greenergrass :
Not taboo at all unless you signed a listing agreement with the old agent to sell your home. You wouldn't have done that when you bought it, it would have been recent when you talked about selling...
from lindzeeleigh :
I don't think you should feel bad about switching agents. Have you signed a contract or anything? I know some of them here make you do that. I think that oy uneed to go with someone who is going to work for you and get the price they can as quickly as they can. Good luck house hunting in Halifax! :) I know you will find something great there. I can't believe it will be Steve's last Remembrance Day in uniform, that must feel so nice and be a relief for you.
from ramanda :
The real estate agent is there to serve you. If he isn't going a good job, give him the boot. They get a good chunk of the money you will get when you sell your house, so you need to be comfortable that they're earning it. Sounds like the new agent is just what you need!
from lindzeeleigh :
I am glad that things are going better for you, Kaitlyn. That extra bit of sleep sure helps I bet, hey?? Good for you with the Weight Watchers, you should be so proud of yourself and I know you can totally reach your goal!
from greenergrass :
I think if you feel unsure about weaning, perhaps you are not ready? I do understand the roughness 4 a.m. wake-ups though - we are going through that again. He usually sleeps 8 to 4 or 5, and then a little nurse and back to sleep until 6:30 or 7. It was better before (8-6) but then sickness and so one caused a little regression, and since I love our morning cuddles I have not tried to fix it. We had a good experience with the sleep consultant though, and had great success in getting rid of the all night snack-a-thon but maintaining our BF relationship... there was some crying, but no alone crying in our case. Let me know if you're interested and I will e-mail you details. You can reach me at grass@MYDOMAIN...
from lindzeeleigh :
After reading the first line of your entry, I thought you were announcing you were pregnant again! Then I went on to read and realized Steve was your other child today! LOL. Hope that tomorrow is a better day for you and that you are less tired. *hug*
from lindzeeleigh :
Very nice, reflective entry and I there are many parts of it that I can relate to as well. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I think we are often our own worst critics! Give yourself some more time, I think you look awesome for having gave birth to two lovely girls. :) You are very active with all your running and you should be proud of yourself. xo
from shevdevil :
Congrats on the run - it's really amazing how fit you are! As for your tummy, I go to a rather exclusive gym where I see lots of mothers with perfect stomachs. I think it requires a lot of gruelling exercise but it can be done. Ask one of your trainers at the gym. The problem is that it will be a lot of tough work and do you have time for that? Sure Heidi Klum has had three kids (and some say she had a bit of surgery), but she can also spend 4 hours a day with her personal trainer... I think you're doing a great job at being mom, wife, housemaker and runner :-)
from greenergrass :
forgot to congratulate you on the release!! congratulations. and on your 10K! awesome.
from alicesbaby :
On a more positive note (forgot to say just now), my little ones LOVE my soft baggy tummy, haha! They like to knead it during snuggles, and Matthew lays his little cheek on it when he's sleepy. I've grown to be rather fond of the soft baggy-ness for these reasons! :)
from alicesbaby :
Don't worry about the belly! Mine is juuust starting to lose the white wrinkled baggy look at 9 months postpartum! It DOES go away, the skin just takes a longer time than the muscles to regain its tone again after being stretched. Worry not! You'll look fab in a bikini again! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I hear you on the mushy and blobby today. I am so there!
from lindzeeleigh :
Congrats on the run times! You guys did an awesome job!! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope you all have a good run this weekend! You are doing so great, you should be proud of yourself. :) And as for the snowsuit, yikes! I guess it is getting toward that time, isn't it?
from ramanda :
I'm not sure what your experience with the pill was before you had kids, but I find my hormones are WAY worse when I'm on the pill. My periods are easier (lighter, shorter, less cramps) but I am a crazy bitch for about 3 days right before I start.
from lindzeeleigh :
WE all *can* do anything. Great entry, Kaitlyn! I really enjoyed reading it and I aspire to be the kind of mom you are to your girls. :)
from greenergrass :
YEAH!!!! Awesome entry. Especially like the part about how we undervalue nurturing and so on... and for boys too. And by saying that traditionally male roles are what we should all aspire too, we do a disservice to everyone. After all, some boys are sensitive souls too!
from lindzeeleigh :
Can't wait to hear your next entry on feminism and cows! ;) Glad you had such a nice weekend overall with the girls and family. I love weekends!
from greenergrass :
p.s. as for supply, if it continues to be a concern, i've been having good luck with herbal stuff as my supply is now waning being away all day... nursing teas and tinctures and so on. Maybe a health food store near you carries such things?
from greenergrass :
ah - the daycare thing; it's so tricky, isn't it? i know the sort of mixed feelings you have, because i feel them every time i drop him off. but that said, if i were to have #2 i'd keep him in daycare part time - so I don't think you should feel guilty at all! Alena probably loves the solo time she has with you and she needs you right now for that. Anyway good luck with those decisions... As to the sleep - let me know if you want the name of my sleep consultant. (we did all by phone/e-mail) She was a miracle worker for us and 3 of my friends have since hired her, all with different issues. I only wish it hadn't taken me so long to realise that a good night's sleep was worth the $200. ;-)
from ebombmom :
WTG on the run! Fabulous! :) As for WW don't sweat the wall; it occurred to me as I read your milk worries that I should tell you I've always had a HUGE drop in milk when I followed the points - even with the bonus 10 for being a nursing mama. :( So that is why I took 4 months to lose 13 lbs, I gotta go s..l..o...ww...... Maybe you're like me, I dunno?
from lindzeeleigh :
How did the run go? I LOVE fall as well. It is such a beautiful time of year. I love the changing of the season, the changing leaves and sweater temperatures!
from shevdevil :
Please add "before/after" photos! :-) Can't wait to see it!
from ebombmom :
Pics, please! That's so great, and funny - because I was tempted by the same thing this week (but haven't given in yet, I'm in a wedding next month so I'm trying to hold off for that!) :)
from lindzeeleigh :
This last entry you wrote on the war and soldiers gave me shivers. Well written. I agree with you and just don't have the words to say....
from lindzeeleigh :
Go Kaitlyn! You are doing so well with your running. I wish we lived closer [ie in the same province lol] so we could go together! I went tonight for 20 minutes and I am not sure how far I actually went, maybe about 4.5 k? I was tired, but it felt good. Your weight loss is going so well and you will definitely achieve your goal by Christmas. Hope Leila is feeling better soon! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Aww, no poor Leila is not well. :( You can't win! I hope that they are both well at the same time soon! Good for you on the run, that is a good distance!! I don't think i could run that far, I am trying to work myself up to something a little more substantial, but I think i am more of a walker at heart... :)
from greenergrass :
ah - crappy fever... poor alena. LM has so many fevers! if it happens again, another method my naturopath told me about was to put damp cotton socks on the baby and then cover them with wool socks or booties to keep the heat in; apparently it does wonders for fevers. as for the milk - it's amazing even in just two days he seems so much better, so i think you're right and he does have an allergy; i just don't want to believe it because i love cheese and milk so much... oh well at least i live in a place where substitutes are readily available.
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope Alena feels better soon! Poor little babe. And good for you for doing the Terry Fox Run! I know you will do an awesome job and I think you should be proud of all your running and the distances you are covering. :) I am off for a bath soon too!
from greenergrass :
I think you're right - plan a nice trip for the two of you later...unless you want to go of course! Maybe Steve partly (subconsciously I mean) wants you to come because he feels bad that he gets a vacation with the guys and if you're there it alleviates that guilt.
from ramanda :
Solution. Steve goes snowboarding and you come visit me. Bring the girls! Or maybe I can come there again. It will depsnd on $$ :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Welcome back!! :) I am glad that you have returned safe and sound and that you had a relaxing time. I am sorry to hear about the other family that you know. That is so sad and tragic. :( My heart goes out to them.
from lindzeeleigh :
Are you back from holidays now?? Hope you had/are having fun! Hope the girls are good and that we get an update soon. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Hope all is going well for you guys in NS!! I miss reading your updates! :)
from boxx9000 :
congratulations on your weight loss.
from lindzeeleigh :
Awwww. I love the cute things Leila says, they make me smile!
from ebombmom :
I was *going* to try the Alesse, but for one thing the pharm subbed out Aviane, with which I am unfamiliar. I'm sure it's a clone, but I read bad things about it re: moods. The only reason I agreed to a combo pill as opposed to mini is that the mini pill is basically ONLY the lovely PMS hormone. Which I didn't want either, since I'm struggling with moods and rage as it is. ;) Plus, my supply is well established by now, so I figured I'd give it a go and monitor. However, I never did start taking the Pill; we're half-arsedly using barrier methods for now (aiee). I should figure something out, I know... If you need to know about any drug, google Dr. Thomas Hale's site; he has all the info on medications and mother's milk (as well as a book by that very name). :)
from msbear :
Whoops...I meant to say that the doctor put me on the mini-pill for the same reason yours did.
from msbear :
I'm on the mini-pill (micronor) and my milk supply is going fine after about 7 months. A couple months ago I had to take antibiotics for an infection and my milk supply survived that, too. I guess it's different for every woman, but I don't think you need to be afraid. :) Best of luck!
from lindzeeleigh :
Keep going with the WW, you can do it!! It will all be worth it, even if it is a struggle at times. Where are you guys going on a vacation??
from greenergrass :
yay for 5ks! I haven't done any running in weeks what with the move - need to get on that...
from lindzeeleigh :
Good for you for running 5 k again! That is awesome. :) I think it is normal for you to feel overwhelmed, I think I will probably feel that way too one day! Glad the appointment went well, even though she didn't do a breast exam. You know that when I go for my yearly appointment, my doctor doesn't always do a breast exam either?? Isnt that a big part of it? At any rate, I hope you have a great weekend!
from stepfordtart :
Couldnt you freeze the excess? Im pretty sure that works OK (best ask your HV, I guess). Might come in handy? Just a thought. s x
from lindzeeleigh :
I would definitely read about your health and fitness! i don't think you need to start a new diary, unless of course you want to. Good for you for joining WW, it is supposed to be fantastic. I HATE money conversations as well, they are never fun. :S I hope it gets better. Can't wait to hear all about the meeting, I knew it was going to go well! I was going to say one more thing, but now I can't remember what it was?? Hmmm, I'll come back if I remember! LoL!
from greenergrass :
congrats on the running - great goal; he was probably six months when i seriously started running, though i did run now and then before then. but that was when i put him in the jogging stroller to train. As for bras, I'm afraid I have not much advice since even with milk size has never been a big issue for me! i went from an a to a large-ish b (unless engorged!) I think i ran in my bravado bras on the days i was feeling bigger...
from ebombmom :
I do want to read a fitness blog! :) Oh and the milk... Either pump off the first of the foremilk, or (and this is easier, to me) put her on, and when the letdown comes, pop her off and catch/stem the flow with a cloth until it slows way down. Then put her back on to finish. If you do block feeding (several in a row on one side) then you may want to pump off a bit from the other side when it's its turn since you will have gotten so full... Remember to burp her often with such a forceful flow, too. Hope you regulate soon! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Good for you for running today and getting back into it!! I think you can totally do 10k for Terry Fox. What a good goal that is. :) As for the tricky breastfeeding scenario - not sure what advice to give you there, except do what you are comfortable with! Btw, it also sounds like a great organization! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
You can have some of the warm weather from over here. Holy hell it is HOT and thank goodness for a/c!! Have fun with the Canada Day festivities tomorrow! [I have no idea what we are doing....]
from arthursmummy :
Ohhhhh, I need to have me a daughter! So cute! :)
from ebombmom :
So, so cute! :)
from bitterwineuk :
thats beautiful. x
from lindzeeleigh :
Search for me with email: [email protected] I would love to catch up with you there!!
from lindzeeleigh :
Smiles already?? Awwwwww. :) My heart melts for baby smiles.
from lindzeeleigh :
If the soother is doing the trick for you, then do it! I think we all have things we say we are or are not going to and then these little people come along and don't always seem to want to follow our plans!
from kantjil :
good luck and lot of patience with motherhood..
from lindzeeleigh :
I think a double stroller is a great idea and you can probably find one that is used so it won't be so expensive. I know there are lots of moms groups who posted there items to sell online and even on facebook! So maybe check that out? And I am sorry you had such a rough night with Alena. :( I hope tonight goes better and that you are both able to get some much needed sleep!
from ebombmom :
Ergo, yes! I have a Beco Butterfly, similar, love it. However, my vote is on finding a Sit n' Stand stroller. I'm considering getting one because Seth can be a suckass about walking sometimes, still, at 3.5. ;) Also, fussy evenings call for the 5 "S" (re: Karp's Happiest Baby on the Block). These days, too, shall pass... smooches!
from greenergrass :
just a thought if you're not sold on the double stroller - i love my ergo carrier, even in snowy conditions when we're both bundled up - we've taken him showshoeing and so on in it. LM is over 20lbs and i can still walk comfortably for over an hour with him. if leila went in the stroller and alena in the ergo, that might be manageable in lieu of a double stroller. then again, the ergo is expensive too... baby stuff is so ridiculous.
from krisbell :
Check ebay and craigslist for a double stroller. Also, do they have Freecycle in Canada? Just a thought.
from greenergrass :
hey - i'd be worried if you WEREN'T occasionally feeling overwhelmed. Two tiny ones - it's a lot! And I have those "i'd rather be in the tub moments too", and then when he's asleep I watch videos of him on Youtube! Man, so complicated.
from arthursmummy :
Happy Birthday to you, AND to Leila - Matthew turned two yesterday as well! How amazing that we were giving birth on the exact same day! :) I just wanted to send some hugs your way after reading your entry just now. I don't know solutions for all the "stuff", I just fully empathize and know exactly how you're feeling. I don't know how to stay in the moment and not have it all slip away. I'm sorry you didn't get the photo you wanted, or to see Leila blow out her candles. But I do know you just wrote down a few sentences there that totally HELD the moment for me - somebody who wasn't even there in the first place! Now it's recorded, and re-reading it in the future will trigger your memory - the sparkle in her eyes, the mashed up hotdog, the concern over her friend's knee. I think that's the only way to try to preserve things, and you're doing great at that. It's so HARD to balance the needs of two little people - I found it an incredibly hard transition, much more so than adding a third. Even when you do your best (which you absolutely ARE doing!) then sometimes it still isn't good enough, because it can't be - we're just not perfect, however much we want to be for our kids. But, it's ENOUGH. If you only ate birthday cake for dinner tonight with Leila, would her health, happiness, or well-being be any the worse in 3 years from now because of it? Nope. It's okay to fall short, because we all do, and our kids will still be happy and healthy and well-adjusted because the main thing is that we just LOVE them and let our love for them govern how we bring them up. And, I can tell you for sure, your girls will be just fine because you are a wonderful, devoted, loving mom. Who, you know, needs some rest! It's okay to be tired and escapist too ;) xxx
from greenergrass :
happy birthday! love the breastfeeding at chapters post btw... ah, nursing in public... some hilarious reactions. and i've been there for the screaming change too - we still get those! ha ha.
from lindzeeleigh :
Happy Birthday! :) It sounds like you had a lovely day with you family! I hope the weekend is going well and that Leila's party is loads of fun! Squishes to Alena!
from ebombmom :
Happy Birthday!! Thank you for your note. :) No worries about me going with FAM, here - how do you think we got Seth? haha!!! I'm not even relying on LAM either, though I could; I may want a fourth but not quiiiiite yet. LOL.
from arthursmummy :
Oh I can soooooooo relate to the feelings you talked about at the end of this last entry! I think even wrote something similar an entry or two ago! And it's so much easier, or something, the second time around. Not because it's EASIER, but because something in YOU has changed - I see you are finding this already! You're doing GREAT! I love reading about you finding your feet and I just keep on smiling as I read your entries, at how familiar many of things you write about are, and at how proud I feel of you. Good for you with the unashamed breastfeeding too! ;)
from lindzeeleigh :
I am so happy they found your car!! And I can't believe the guy is only 18, that is so very sad and I am sure a little prayer his way can't hurt. :) I hope you are able to have a relaxing bath soon. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I can't believe what a shitty week you had! :( I am so sorry to hear about the cars and all the things in them. That is such a pain to sort out and I hope the RCs catch that guy soon!! Because you already don't have enough going on with a new baby and a family already right?? :S I am thinking of you and hoping for a brand new, better start to next week. :)
from arthursmummy :
Oh man, that SUCKS about your cars! I'm so sorry that happened to you, even more so because you just had a baby, and it just seems so unfair at such a turbulent time. Plllleeease don't feel any guilt over the folic acid! I pretty much completely guarantee it had nothing to do with it - really! I took folic acid before, during, after, etc, all 3 of my pregnancies. I stuck to it during morning sickness, etc. I basically haven't really stopped taking folic acid in a prenatal supplement since my first pregnancy (which, actually is the only one that I skipped it a bit in the queasy stage). Babies 2 and 3 both have dimples at the base of their spines - deep enough to be fiddly to clean but not worrisome, you know? Definitely nothing to do with the folic acid factor here :) Don't feel guilty. *hugs*
from ebombmom :
Oh my goodness! I can't believe all that happened to you guys. I am SO glad you are all okay and that you were protected from harm. Hope they catch the bastard! Also, no more folic acid agonizing, okay?
from lindzeeleigh :
YAY - you have survived the first week. it will only get better from here on in. :) You are well suited to be a mama of two, and I hope everything keeps going well for you!
from ebombmom :
Fast letdown = gassy baby, for sure. Try taking her off when your letdown first comes, clamping a towel or cloth dipe over your breast to catch/stem the flow. Then resume once things have slowed. She'll get more hindmilk that way, too, as opposed to the abundant foremilk, and hopefully that can even lead to less fussy evenings! :)
from ebombmom :
SO CUTE! Love the photos - especially one of three beautiful ladies. :) Congrats again! Also - love the name! I went to grade school with an Alena and always liked the name. :)
from nickyslilone :
Awww, absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations! xx
from bitterwineuk :
What a beautiful family you have. Congratulations again. x
from greenergrass :
clearly i am stalking you. she is gorgeous!!! you all look radiant! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
YAY! Welcome to the world Alena! :) Very cute name and she is adorable! So happy that all went so well for you Kaitlyn!
from arthursmummy :
Yay, congratulations!!!! I'm so excited! Well done you. I can't wait to read more and see pics! xxx
from bitterwineuk :
congratulations, :) Lovely name too. x
from ebombmom :
nak, but YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
from ramanda :
You GO girl. I am so proud of you. Seriously. You're amazing.
from greenergrass :
WOOOOHOO! Congratulations! Glad to hear that everything went so well. :)
from greenergrass :
still thinking about you!
from greenergrass :
I have been thinking about you all day! I've got my fingers crossed that she's born tomorrow a.m. - it's our anniversary! :-)
from bitterwineuk :
fingers crossed for you darlin. All the best. x
from lindzeeleigh :
You aren't updating today....Maybe you are having the baby TODAY?!? I hope the labour goes well and I can't wait to hear all about it and meet your new lil' one. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Leila is absolutely lovely. Could she be any cuter??? Seriously! :) I am having a good feeling about this weekend for your babe!
from greenergrass :
Oh my gosh - she is just darling. Thinking of you with fingers crossed! :)
from arthursmummy :
Dear heavens above, she really IS heart-stoppingly beautiful! I love her little cleft chin (partial to those since having a baby with one recently!)! I'm excited about your membrane sweep and contraction-y-ness. I hope you're really BUSY (in the best way possible!) right now, and that everything goes well!
from bitterwineuk :
come on baby, give your mum a nice friday night baby and the chance to enjoy a celebratory glass of wine over the weekend. :) Leila looks great in those pics. Such big blue eyes. Now go and get a nice hot curry or something. x
from lindzeeleigh :
Come on little baby!! I am so excited for you and can't wait to hear about everything and see pics and find out her name. :)
from bitterwineuk :
Hooray, can't wait. Hope the next time we hear from you is after the event. :)
from ebombmom :
Oh crumbs, I am leaving town tomorrow and won't be able to check back until Sunday night! In advance: you rock, I am so happy for you, congrats and can't wait to see pics and read all about it!!! :)
from greenergrass :
Can't wait for some photos of that lovely girl! :)
from ebombmom :
Happy Anniversary! Sounds like a lovely evening. I am laughing, yes; you know how many husbands I've run into lately that thing that a)each child comes earlier than the last pregnancy and b)each labour gets shorter and easier than the last!!!! It KILLS ME, I laugh so hard. Oh ho ho, hooo hoo heee.... ha. Yeah.
from lindzeeleigh :
Happy Anniversary! Enjoy your dinner with Steve, it sounds lovely. :) I think that Steve is right and the baby will come all by herself this week. Good for you for staying positive even though it isn't always easy.
from lindzeeleigh :
p.s. I am dying to hear the baby's name too!! Soon enough you will get to blab to us!! :P
from lindzeeleigh :
I think your little one is going to come on your anniversary and you will be so happy to see her! :) I hope you don't have to get induced by having your waters broken or anything like that. I am sure she will come all on her own! Good luck, I am praying for you.
from ebombmom :
Didn't mean to sound so abrupt, but really - head pieces everywhere. ;) I hope you have a lovely experience whenever your baby decides to come! :) (you're just a long gestator, but past 40 weeks isn't really late or long... OK I'll stop! can't help myself... sorry!!!!!)
from ebombmom :
OK. I love you, but you just made my head asplode. They can't do anything to you, to which you do not consent. If you don't agree with inducing without knowing your Bishop's score, they can't. You also choose how you want to proceed based on their recommendations AND your own research. Breaking waters first - risky and a point of no return. Pit first? If it doesn't feel right, you turn it off and go home for another night or two of sleep. :)
from ebombmom :
You know, I am... but probably because it was so short and easy. ;) I can't imagine not being torn in two directions at a 12+ hour birth, especially one that pulls out a lot of me emotionally. I have a feeling it's coming up - I have a best friend due with her fourth (maybe this weekend!) and I have a first timer who is a blatherer, and I'm not feeling all that connected to her. That one, I am semi-dreading but trying to optimistically anticipate it. I'm going to have to psych myself up really well for that one. I'm going to be sending you labour vibes all weekend, I can't wait for you to meet your girlie!!!!
from arthursmummy :
Hoooo yeah, I think you'll be busy tomorrow! ;) Praying for you here too!
from ebombmom :
Woohooo! I'll be praying for you! :)
from startafresh :
good luck and hope that your mum is right and labour does start soon. All the best. x
from greenergrass :
oh and i LOVE geminis. not sure why as my sign (cancer) is not usually supposed to get along with them, but a bunch of my BFFs have been geminis.
from greenergrass :
Gah - I remember being told it would be another week... I think I cried too. Glad to hear baby is a nice size! I'm on wunderbaby watch now. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I like your mom's analogy. Too funny! I think a baby on the long weekend would be great! :) Happy almost one year anniversary! That came SO fast! Where did the year go?! Seriously!
from lindzeeleigh :
*Crossing fingers!*
from lindzeeleigh :
Happy Mother's Day, Kaitlyn! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Just had to catch up on a few entries! The soups you were making sound delish! Soup is something I have never really made, so i would like to try it out! I am surprised there was no baby action after all your work last night! Come on little baby and visit your mama!!
from ebombmom :
Sending you happy labour vibes! Also, hoping you're right about baby wanting to come sooner than later. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Oooh, things are just moving right along, aren't they?? Thinking of you and sending you have the baby vibes!! Can't wait to hear all about your new little person! :)
from greenergrass :
My god - you are so, so close! The work/motherhood thing is so hard! Part of me thinks, if money were no object I'd 100% stay home. But I know that if that's what I really wanted, I would be staying home... what I'd really love is to work three days a week at a fabulous and stimulating job, and have the rest of the time with my family. But that seems impossible. Anyway I will be thinking of you lots in the coming days!
from lindzeeleigh :
I know that you will choose what is best for you and for your family. I think that being part of different groups and volunteering is a great idea and will definitely engage you in adult conversation and get you out of the house. Enjoy the last little bit of time you have before baby gets here!
from lindzeeleigh :
Glad to hear your dad is well and that everything went okay. Sending you labour vibes so the baby can meet you soon! As for Leila saying dude, that is super cute! [Reminds me of Michelle on Full House! HAHA] A 13 year old boy in my class, saying it, not so cute!!
from greenergrass :
glad to hear your dad is okay! also, i was gbs+ and made an 11th hour decision to treat for risk factors, thus received no antibiotics. man, i fretted so much over my status. i did a tonne of research... trying to recall some of it: http://www.rcog.org.uk/resources/Public/pdf/GroupB_strep_no36.pdf http://www.rcog.org.uk/index.asp?PageID=520 http://www.cmaj.ca/cgi/reprint/166/7/928.pdf
from ebombmom :
Find thee a worthy reflexologist and get some uterine stimulation via foot rub. ;)
from ebombmom :
Last msg, promise! If you opt for abx you can also do some proactive stuff to try and prevent thrush, of course... BioK is awesome, though pricey, or the Udo's Choice adult super probiotics are great....
from ebombmom :
Ok, here's a study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15994612?dopt=Abstract and you can find lots more info here: http://www.gentlebirth.org/archives/gbs.html
from ebombmom :
Thanks so much for the encouragement. I appreciate it! and you! :) Here are some linkies for now, I'll send more meaty ones when I dig them up: this first one you already probably have the info but it's nice and straightforward:http://www.midwiferycollectiveofottawa.ca/birthstuff-GBS.html then there's http://www.mothering.com/articles/pregnancy_birth/birth_preparation/group-b.html which I love... "One study, which looked at the rates of blood infection among newborns over a period of six years, found that the use of antibiotics during labor reduced the instance of GBS infection in newborns but increased the incidence of other forms of blood infection." and "More minor risks of the use of antibiotics include an increase in thrush and other yeast infections among newborns. Along with the risks of thrush and allergic reactions, women must take into consideration the risk of creating antibiotic-resistant bacteria in themselves and their newborns. It is possible that exposure to antibiotics during birth could delay establishment of healthy bacteria in the infant's intestinal tract and allow penicillin-resistant bacteria, many of which are harmful, to become established." There are some things you can use/do to try and reduce risks and likeliness of colonization at time of birth...
from bitterwineuk :
sounds like a proper nesting day. :) Wouldn't be surprised if baby arrives in less than 2 weeks. x
from greenergrass :
i'll be interested to know how it goes. shortly after LM was born, i thought i loved him impossibly, but now i love him more because i know him and because he reciprocates... then it was more primal. but is one feeling less intense than the other? i'll be interested to hear your response. i know my mother said she couldn't imagine loving her second as much as the first, but that somehow there just is enough love. but even if it takes time, at least you know it's normal. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
No more coughing! I hope you are better soon. :) With all these contractions and BH you are going to be having this baby soon!! Yes, do an update when you get back from your appointment. You will have to post some of the family photos when you get them done, they are going to be so lovely!!
from bitterwineuk :
Sorry to hear about your dad, it's always a worry but encouraging that it can be treated quickly. Wishing all the best to everyone. x
from lindzeeleigh :
I am sorry to hear about your dad's skin cancer. :( He has sure had a bad run of luck with his health and I hope this will be the end of all the bad things. I am sending you big hugs! How have you been feeling minus the sleepless nights? Did you and Steve figure out a name together as of yet?
from lindzeeleigh :
I really liked this entry about changing your perspective and having a look at how little kids see things. The truly do stare at things in wodnerment, don't they? They seem to see all the small things we miss. I hope you had a lovely nap. :)
from ebombmom :
Heh. Snicker. Tee hee! :D
from lindzeeleigh :
Feel better soon! I am glad you went out for dinner and two movies, yay for date nights and Grandads! :P As for trying for a baby, we are not trying yet, perhaps in the fall/winter. This will just be our last big holiday with just us. We are considering NS and the east coast!!!
from greenergrass :
Glad you are enjoying the BG! I can't decide which I prefer, Happy Heiny's or BG. I used to say HH, but lately with my skinny leg issues I am finding the BG more reliable. That said, I have had VERY few leaks with either, and only at night; it's really only been the past couple of weeks that it's been an issue as he seems to be thinning out but still long. They are both awesome diapers.
from greenergrass :
meant to tell you that the link where i rated stuff is http://grassdiaries.com/2008/01/baby-gear.html i am using just pockets these days - bum genius and happy heiny's, but am contemplating digging out my fitteds as i've had a few nighttime leaks of late. LM is tall with not super-chubby legs, so fit is getting kinda tricky. a hemp doubler seems to work okay too though, so i am still totally pro-pocket.
from alicesbaby :
I have wayyyy too many things to put into a note, but here goes! :) 1) I don't think I've left you a note before! Hello!! And thank you for your notes! 2) I don't have anything useful to say about Wonderoos because I haven't tried them on my littlies yet - I am intrigued about what I've heard though! 3) I'm so excited that you're so close to having your new baby girl!!!! 4) I checked my cervix at around 35 weeks with a couple of my pregnancies and found my cervix pretty easily. It was soft and mushy and I could feel kind of 1-2cm and the baby's head - so exciting! But, it was that way with my baby who went to 41 weeks before grudgingly responding to a membrane sweep, AND with my baby who decided to arrive after all just before 36 weeks, so I am actually not being very helpful, am I?! ;) 5) Ohhh I'm so glad you have your husband around for the first 3 months!!! Mine has been out of work for the last 5 months and so the first 2.5 months with Nathan here. WHAT a difference it has made! I did not cope too well with my last baby and just felt that I needed some sort of HELP, Neil around more, or something. This time he is, and it's allll the things you said it would be - REST, bonding time with Daddy for the older two (and time to do the same with the baby), REST, the ability to recouperate after the birth properly, REST, etc. It will be wonderful! I'm so glad for you! And I think that is all for today :)
from ebombmom :
Well and then you've got the fact that Dr.'s don't seem to know what is normal, right? Remember the Dr who thought my cervix was waaay too soft, too early? The MW was all "pffshht!" Soft is one thing, and doesn't mean the same as effaced or dilated...
from lindzeeleigh :
Hmm, don't seem to have any advice on the cervix issue....but I am thinking of you!
from lindzeeleigh :
Ha! That is a great joke and i love it even more that your minister told it!
from greenergrass :
hmmmm... well if it's any consolation, i always measured smack-on and he was only 7'7. and my friend measured ahead and hers was 6'11... so maybe she is just lying in a different way and is a perfectly average size baby. and just my two cents, but don't feel bad about begrudging steve; i haven't 'let' d go skiing almost all winter, though i would now... maybe you guys can plan a tropical baby-friendly vacation instead of a ski one - i think skiing hols are particularly non-conducive to babies.
from lindzeeleigh :
So glad to hear everything is good with the baby! I liked your entry about not wanting Leila to grow up, to wnat to freeze time. I am sure I would be the same way!
from lindzeeleigh :
Ooh, you have a new baby name picked out? I can't wait to find out what it is! That is so adorable that Leila says it and touches your belly. How precious. Happy Birhday to Steve!
from lindzeeleigh :
Awww, feel better soon my dear!!
from greenergrass :
aw - hope you're feeling better! i love my wrap; i have a "cuddly wrap" and it's still very comfy even at 18+ pounds. it does about a minute to put on and the ends drag on the floor, so i use a different one when we're out for the day. also it takes a bit of practice to figure out how tightly to put it on - i put it on quite tightly as it's stretchy and loosens up when baby's in it. i'd say it's the most comfortable carrier i have and the best one for around the house. it was definitely my favourite way to carry him as a newborn - we liked newborn upright hold. can't believe #2 is coming so soon!!! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope your BH gets better! You need to have a weekend of TLC with some rest it sounds like. I hope thaty you are able to get some sleep and not feel so exhausted. Hmmm, how sure am i still want to have a baby?? LoL! How do you think Leila would react to a bed? How is the name game coming? Try and have a great weekend! Thinking of you.
from lindzeeleigh :
If you don't want to renew your gold membership you can upload photos to flickr for free and then post them here. That is what i do when I uplaod pictures. It works great and who doesn't like FREE? :) YAY for photos. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
from lindzeeleigh :
Gestational diabetes? :S That does not sound like a fun morning. I am glad you relaxed in the quiet of the afternoon!
from ramanda :
Man. It is one thing to have diarhea yourself. I can't imagine having to clean it out of the crack of someone else's ass every 20 minutes. Poor Leila! Also poor you! That said, I think this is the funnient thing I have read in a long time: Her farts keep waking her up every twenty minutes. Heh. Also! Is the monkey that she sleeps with the monkey that I gave her? Woot!
from lindzeeleigh :
I read the Birth House in the summer and absolutely loved it! Definitely one of my fave books!
from greenergrass :
p.s. re happiest baby on the block, i didn't read it but i watched the dvd and i liked it; we used lots of the techniques to soothe him - it was especially useful for d since he didn't have the option of just sticking a boob in his mouth! ha ha.
from greenergrass :
blah, how annoying and judgmental. that's big news about steve! how exciting for you both. wow.
from lindzeeleigh :
HAHAHA! Love your conversation with Steve, too funny!
from greenergrass :
aw man! i was hoping those worries faded the second time! ;-) oh well, you know what they say - worry is the work of pregnancy. you will do great mama.
from lindzeeleigh :
Okay here is the part where you laugh at me: I read your entry three times thinking Steve submitted for what?! Then it dawned on me, summitted! Woah.....Slow processing much??
from greenergrass :
wow - people were correcting their kids? i mean, i know i'd feel the urge to do it too, but really? we take a music class, (mostly so i can see a relative with a toddler who take the class, although I think LM is semi-aware of what's happening) and one of the things i like about it is that parents are encouraged to just let their kids run around and do whatever even if it doesn't fit in with the "plan." having to sit still and getting time-outs when you don't just seems like a sure way to make library time totally unfun! anyway glad leila is showing them how it's done! :-)
from lindzeeleigh :
Hmm, no more Kayleigh huh? Well, back to the ol' drawing board I guess! :) Have you checked out baby nymbler? http://www.nymbler.com/nymbler/find-names.php You type in a few names you like and then get their suggestions of ones that are similar or what might go. Maybe you could find something there. I laughed at Leila checking people's pants!! HAH!
from ebombmom :
Ooh, glad you played the name game! Heh. ;) I like Kayleigh, it's very pretty! I actually just finished with a client whose eldest daughter was Kayleigh, and her new (9 yrs younger) daughter is Kelseigh. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I love Kayleigh, that is so cute! And you know I am definitely digging the Leigh part! LoL! I hope you have a grea trip back home and that you get all the little things done that you want to. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I am sorry to hear that Leila and Milo are sick. I hope that they are both feeling better soon! Especially poor Milo.....I really hope that it really is a UTI! Any progress on the name game? I hope you have a good week!
from greenergrass :
viscerally wrapped around LM - a perfect way to explain it. and hey, your cravings sound pretty healthy! mmm... tartar sauce. better than craving ice cream, which i did.
from ebombmom :
I just realized I should clarify, that you'll have to check the seat you're using of course. Most of the convertible ones out there only go to 40lbs forward facing in the 5-pt....
from ebombmom :
Nope, now they go up to 65 lbs, this was new in the last year. There aren't many models that do allow to 65, many are still down at 48, but the Sunshine Kids Radian and the Britax Marathon are two that go to 65. :)
from greenergrass :
Congratulations on your baby girl!!! That's wonderful! :-)
from lindzeeleigh :
A baby sister for Leila!! How thrilling. :) I can't wait to hear possible name choices for the precious new little girl, since I think Leila is so unique. Congrats! I think they might be daddies little girls?? LoL.
from ebombmom :
Woohoo, girl! Congrats!!! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope you are able to have your hot bath soon, you deserve it and likely need it! Take care of yourself and I hope you are able to get down to part time.
from lindzeeleigh :
Merry Christmas, Kaitlyn! I hope you are able to get in some well deserved relaxation and rest. Thinking of you! xo
from ebombmom :
Go to www.spinningbabies.com; much of the info there is for breech but there is posterior prevention as well. No slouching, no reclining, lie on left side but tipping forward, sit on a ball with belly hanging between legs, 20 minutes of all fours doing cat-backs every day, chiro adjustment to stay aligned, there are homeopathics to use toward the end and even during labour (pulsatilla is one).... I should just email you instead, lol...
from ramanda :
CRACK? WTF? Gives a whole new meaning to the nickname Stellarock!
from lindzeeleigh :
YIKES to the crack! :S
from lindzeeleigh :
Teehee - I love the things you have transcribed that Leila is saying, that is just too cute for words. She is going to be a great big sister!
from lindzeeleigh :
I am glad that you are finally feeling better now! You were sick for so long. I ope the cold and flu bugs stay far away from your palce for a while now! Have fun shopping with your mom, i bet you will get some cute things! Take care!
from lindzeeleigh :
Glad to hear you are taking care of yourself and family first. That is more important than work and if you are so exhausted all the time you are not going to be able to help anyone or do any of your multiple jobs! Can't wait to keep hearing more about Leila and new baby. Any thoughts as to if it is a boy or girl? How is the name game going??
from greenergrass :
i have heard of little beetle - they're supposed to be great! they get rave reviews on diaperpin.com as well. http://www.diaperpin.com/diapers/itemdetail.asp?id=1105
from lindzeeleigh :
Awww, I loved this entry about Leila and all her words, it was so touching and darn cute of course! You are a wonderful mom and a soon to be mom of two!! So much more love to give. :) And I am so happy that things are great with Steve, everything is so well rounded!
from greenergrass :
i totally have that thought about my boy loving another woman - maybe one who won't even like me! but having a little boy is just so wonderful and sweet. When I think of future children now, I can't imagine how i could love a girl like a little boy... there's a sort of otherness to boys that makes them so endearing and i wonder if i would be less sympathetic or something to the cries of a girl who'd be (presumably) more like me... even though I'd love to have a girl. anyway, i get where that feeling comes from. Also, I am a second child and I know my mother said she worried she wouldn't love me as much as her first, but she was amazed at how you just do! Anyway thanks for the mastitis tips - every tooth! Wow... that must have been rough. I was still under midwife care so that was good and they were wonderful, but today was the last visit... :-(
from greenergrass :
aw - a may baby... wonderful!
from greenergrass :
Yay for 160 BPM! And I hear you on the fatigue - my first trimester was far worse than now, and I haven't slept more than two and a half hours a stretch all month. And I didn't even have a toddler... so here's hoping it gets better.
from ramanda :
Amen, sister. I'm not preggers, but I know how you feel. 100%. I literallly cannot remember the last time I woke up feeling refreshed. *hug*
from greenergrass :
Hugs. I had loads of cramps. They say every pregnancy is different, so hopefully all is well. Anxiously awaiting an update.
from ebombmom :
Oh, getting this late in the evening. I hope all is well! My first instinct when crampy is always to chug a HUGE glass of water, and get into a warm tub. Or at least put a hot water bottle on my belly. You might want to consider laying off the rasp.leaf tea; some think it's a bit overstimulating in the first tri, and say to save it for the end. Take calcium/D/magnesium to help calm your muscles as well. Praying for you!
from lindzeeleigh :
Yikes!! :( I wish I had some advice or wise words of wisdome for you. I am thinking of you and hoping that everything is going to be okay! xo
from greenergrass :
hey - thanks for the tips! As for newborn diapers, my favourites are the Motherease Sandy's XS. I like them because they're soft, absorbent, cheaper than Kissaluvs (which seems to be the other popular brand; I have a couple of those too). They're also bigger than the Kissaluvs, so he'll be in them a bit longer, and the rise is higher, which for my boy who soaks the front, is pretty key. They are about $9-$10 each, so I also have some flannel ones called "Dri-Lines" size M ($6 each at my local store) to supplement my stash. I think I have about 18-20 total and I wash every other day. I don't find it too much work as I have little bins in his dresser for the diapers and covers and just throw them in there so I don't bother folding or anything. Also, I don't rinse them before putting them in the wash, I just throw them in all mucky, and run a cold rinse cycle on the machine before washing. (We did use disposables until the meconium had passed.) Seems to work well. Sometimes I use a flushable liner if it's on for a while... so anyway I guess the ability not to rinse makes it a bit less work than a poopy toddler diaper. The machine is on an awful lot though! At night I have recently started using a BumGenius since they stay feeling dry and I feel less guilty if I don't get up to change him in the middle of the night. But they do occasionally leak a bit as they are still a tad big on him - and he must be about 10lb by now. As for covers, I'm using the Bummis Super Whisper Wraps (S) and the Mother-Ease AirFlows (XS) and all seem to work equally well. You can find the Bummis on eBay quite often for cheap - that's where I got mine. Sorry for this marathon post - I think way too much of my life is devoted to thinking about diapers these days.
from lindzeeleigh :
Glad to hear the shopping trip wasn't too bad. You moms have spidey sense or something! Glad you knew something was up with Leila and that she got in to get checked out right away. CAn't wait to see pics of the new little bump you are getting!!
from ebombmom :
Oh my God. I am now remembering my first (and only?) "let's go shopping!" experience with my MIL, and yeah. Glad that's done! You can always beg off with nausea/exhaustion! :D
from lindzeeleigh :
Good luck with the impending doom, er, I mean shopping! It sounds like it could be an interesting day!! :P
from lindzeeleigh :
HAHA, this entry about being pregnant made me laugh. I can't wait for your ultrasound and to find out exact dates and that kind of thing. WE will have to wait longer to find out the boy/girl stuff, so exciting! I am living vicariously through you, mustard, strange dreams and all! LOL.
from greenergrass :
Congratulations again - and happy Thanksgiving... can't wait to find out how far along you are.
from lindzeeleigh :
I was going to do a post today to ask people what they were thankful for this Thanksgiving and you already beat me to it! :P You are quick. Have a lovely day with Steve, Leila, your little baby in the belly and family. xo
from lindzeeleigh :
Happy Thanksgiving, nice boobs! Teehee. That is too funny. I bet you are looking like one hot momma! I am glad to hear that things are going so well, even though it is a little bit busy! Take care and enjoy the weekend. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Okay, I am going along with EBomb mom. Before I opened your diary today, I had a feeling you were going to announce you were pregnant, I just had this feeling!! Congrats! That is so exciting and it was meant to be. Let us know about the ultrasound!
from greenergrass :
Oh my god HOORAY!!! Congratulations. And thanks so much for your words - that was really reassuring to read. :-)
from ebombmom :
I KNEW IT. No, I did. Congratulations! :) I have a link for you to try re: midwives, but I will keep looking and let you know if I find anything further. I can post on some doula lists and find out more. Woohoo!
from greenergrass :
aw - wow, sounds scary. glad to hear that they were able to reassure you!
from lindzeeleigh :
Awww, poor Leila! :( I hope she is feeling better VERy soon and that the fever wil break. If you are really worried, just go to the hospital because you don't want to not know what is happening with her all night long. I am thinking of you!! xo
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope Steve and Leila are feeling better soon and that you don't get what they have! I hope you can get some much needed rest! How was the lunch date?? Just be thankful this week is thisclose to being over, I know I am!
from lindzeeleigh :
I wish I had a good motivator like that so I could work out! Good for you for staying fit this summer, i started out so well and then it kind of went down hill from there! :S
from lindzeeleigh :
Good for you for running for so long! I ran for about twenty minutes last night and that was a feat for me, the non runner! I bet the handprint of Leila turned out really cute. ;)
from lindzeeleigh :
Oh boo! No entry full of linkage! Bad Steve for closing the window! Ben does that to me sometimes too. Oooops. Glad to hear you had a good time on holidays, but you sounded very busy. Leila will do great in daycare I am sure. I used to work at one and there are some really good places out there. Glad to see your update. I've locked up - if you are interested in keeping up with me, email me at lindzeeleigh AT hotmail DOT com and I can send you the password. Thanks! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Enjoy your much deserved holiday!! :)
from ebombmom :
Heya, just wanted to echo what Grass said. :) I have some bits of info on PCOS, both through client-needed research and a best friend who has it... Some info on Metformin vs. diet control re: insulin mgmt, blahblah, too. If you want any, we can email. And I, too, know several women who have experienced subsequent intervention-free pregnancies with PCOS, please do take heart! Hugs.
from greenergrass :
wow - i don't know what to say. i'm sorry to hear that you have PCOS, but am glad that they have identified that it's something and that hopefully they can help. i don't know a lot about PCOS, but i do know of quite a few people who have conceived after being diagnosed with it. So anyway a big hug to you and your Miracle.
from greenergrass :
Hope your u/s went well today!
from lindzeeleigh :
HEhe, I laughed that when Leila was out of the house that you vacuumed and cleaned. But good for you for rocking out and having the music blasting! That must have felt a little bit rebellious for you. :) Oooh, job details?! Do keep me posted on that! Good luck with the new neighbour! How could she not resist Leila?!
from lindzeeleigh :
I think you are right, how you feel is so much more important than a number! Good for you for feeling better. :) I love the pictures of Leila, she really is so beautiful. I hope you have fun this weekend, I bet Leila will love it!!
from greenergrass :
A big hug. Your love for your little girl is always apparent to me in your entries - so I think you shouldn't feel at all bad about needing more you time, or about feeling a little resentful. I bet most people feel that way, but are afraid to admit it. I wish I had some great suggestion for making it better, but I am a voice of inexperience here... I hope you find some ways to take back time for yourself.
from lindzeeleigh :
just wanted to send a big hug your way and to let you know I am thinking of you!!
from ebombmom :
What a shithead of a doctor! Ugh. I'll be praying for you to get some answers quickly. Do you have a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility? Also, double check what tests he relied on to rule out PCOS, as sometimes it doens't show up even if you have it. Fertility is not my forte, but I do have some info if you want it (I have a few friends who have had difficulties). Hugs to you, K!
from lindzeeleigh :
How are things going Kaitlyn? I just popped in to say hello and let you know I am thinking about you and hoping everything is going well. TAke care of yourself!
from greenergrass :
Wow - what an insane doctor! I am so sorry that you had to go through that... but it definitely sounds like you know how to advocate for yourself. I know it's not the same, but I had a cyst for a few months as well that messed up all my cycles. Anyway, I am sorry you're going through this and am thinking of you!
from lindzeeleigh :
AWww, more hugs from me. :) If it makes you feel better, no baby here for me! :P I really hope things are going to work out for you. I am hoping for the best!!
from ebombmom :
Hugs from me, too. I'll be praying for you! Don't apologize for wanting more, it doesn't take away from being in love with what you do have. Have you considered seeing a naturopath/homeopath? Acupuncture might be worth a look into, as well. And wow.... I can't believe Leila's ONE already, sheesh.
from greenergrass :
aw - a big hug - i hope to see you back soon, but yes, sometimes we all need a break from the blog world. i'm so sorry to hear about your having to see a doctor - sending you lots of good, happy vibes.
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope everything is going to be okay. *hugs* I will be here reading when you are ready. Good luck training for the race! Good for you. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
AWww, happy birthday, Leila! You ar truly blessed to have her, and she to have you and Steve. I hope you do not have any problems with fertility. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything will tunr out all right. This is what I am afraid of one day happening to me, but I have no real reason to think that as of now. Thinking of you!!
from lindzeeleigh :
I love that you love Leila so much and that you still love Steve and your relationship and your sex life so much. I think that is really important and good for you for realizing that you are not ready for baby number two yet. You have plenty of time for him/her. Plus, practicing is fun!
from greenergrass :
You look gorgeous - can't wait to see some more pictures.
from lindzeeleigh :
I love the first picture of you laughing and smiling, you look so beautiful! I can't wait to see more pictures - I would be impatient too! [I imagine I will be impatient! HAHA] Awww, Leila is too cute, she is going to be walking and talking more before you know it!
from ramanda :
I love both those pictures. I wish I had a larger copy of the little one. That was such a great moment. I was high on my relief of not falling down the stairs of the church, you had the hugest smile on your face and Steve threw his arms in the air like a rockstar. There were so many perfect moments that day that I can't decide which is my favourite. Thanks for letting me be a part of it :)
from greenergrass :
hooray!! that sounds amazing. yay for may weddings.
from lindzeeleigh :
Ia m so glad to hear that your wedding went so well!! Where did you end up going for your honeymoon? I csn't wait to see some pics of the wedding, I hope you'll post a few!! :)?Congrats!
from greenergrass :
great poem - and happy mother's day!
from lindzeeleigh :
I LOVE the poem, it is so beautiful. :) I think it will be perfect!
from lindzeeleigh :
I am surprised that you haven't got your period back yet, especially now that you are no longer breastfeeding Leila. I am glad you went to the doctor and I hope he is able to help you sort everything out. I totally laughed at the prodding in my vagina on my first date line - too funny and so true! Almost wedding time! I am getting so so so excited for you!!
from greenergrass :
wow - can't believe how soon your wedding is coming up!! might be superstressful now, but i'm sure the big day will be amazing. i hate giving advice, but people kept telling me how it was such a blur, so i tried to savour every moment and really be in the here and now. i can still relive it now sometimes - it was such a wonderful day.
from lindzeeleigh :
Good luck at your dress fitting, i hope it goes well for you! My first dress fitting is a week away from today, so that is exciting! I hope you and Steve have fun on your date night, you deserve to go out and have some fun! I can't wait to see some new pics of Leila! Have a wonderful weekend. p.s. I still can't update! GRRRRRRR.
from lindzeeleigh :
Some friend she is! Who says they can't come to you because they are dog sitting?? That is lame. I am glad you did not ask her to be one of your bridesmaids! :S I am having an issue like that with one of my friends. She has another friend who has a wedding on the same day as me, but they got engaged 4 or 5 months after we did and now my friend is saying she is not sure which wedding to go to, but is leaning towards her other friend because her other friend might be asking her to do something for the wedding. [Even though she already said she would come to mine?!] People are aggravating! And how were you able to update?! Every time I try and click add new entry it keeps telling me that I can't right now, it is getting REALLY annoying!!
from lindzeeleigh :
I can't believe that your wedding is 18 days away!! That is insane! And you are working out and taking classes and being a mommy! How do you find time for it all?! You are a machine! I hope that you have tied up all the loose knots for the wedding and I can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures!! :) I am getting so excited for you!
from lindzeeleigh :
AWwww, wedding showers! I can't believe how close the wedding is coming up! i can't wait to hear all about it and see the pictures. I wish I was attending some more weddings before my own, but no such luck there. :P i can't believe how much Leila has grown up! Enjoy your weekend - I hope it is lovely and beautiful!
from f-i-n :
I like lemons too. They make my eyes water!
from greenergrass :
oh my god - i just threw out my neck too! i thought this stuff wasn't supposed to happen for another 30 years or so! if you have the time to see a registered massage therapist i highly recommend it - a few hours after my appt. i was feeling almost normal.
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope your back is feeling better soon! Yikes, that is just not good at all. Take care of yourself! [and your back] :)
from greenergrass :
I thought of you this morning when I heard the news about the soldiers from NB. I hope you are doing okay. My thoughts are with their families.
from lindzeeleigh :
Glad to hear you are getting all settled in to your new home. :) And as for the snow, we have lots over here in Alberta too! it snowed like three times this week. where is spring? That is what I want to know! And don't worry about Leila and not crawling, lots of babies do things at different times. Have a lovely Easter Weekend and I hope you don't have any more annoying guests!
from greenergrass :
Sorry to hear you've been down. As to the sex thing, I've always been of the quality over quantity school of thought. And seriously - 2 to 3 times a week sounds damn good considering all that's going on. I suspect most couples, even those without children, have sex less frequently - I know I've read that. Knowing that may not help if it's something you want more of - but I would not feel bad about it.
from lindzeeleigh :
I know how you feel - in more ways that one. With the whole feeling sad thing, sometimes it just envelopes you and can be hard to escape from. Slowly but surely you will get there, I like that you have noticed each day getting better. I can relate to the sex thing and we don't even have a baby! :S I really need to work on it....and make the time, I think it is important. Enjoy your last few moments and treasure your mental pictures.
from lindzeeleigh :
I can't believe that today is the big day that you are moving to N.B. already! That time passed by so quickly. Thank you for all the nice notes you have left me about the wedding, they are so helpful and I love hearing other people's ideas. I hope that Leila will be feeling better in no time and that you have a very safe journey to the east coast. Take care. :)
from ebombmom :
Hoping Leila feels better soon and praying for safe, smooth travels for you all! :hugs:
from greenergrass :
although i can only imagine, that sounds very normal to me; but it's true - i think women a lot of times are reluctant to ask for help - and sometimes there's just no one to ask.
from f-i-n :
hugs for you (()))
from ebombmom :
Not alone in any of it, no ma'am.
from lindzeeleigh :
I can't believe that Leila is nine months old already! I remember when you first posted that you were pregnant! Where does the time go?! And i love that picture of Leila looking out the window - what cute chunky legs!!
from lindzeeleigh :
I really enjoyed 300 - I liked the storyline and I liked the dialogue a lot. It was pretty gory at some points, but I overall really liked the movie. :) Steve will love it! As for wedding stuff.... I don't think the cake will be our only dessert because we are having a buffet style dinner at a hotel for the reception. I am pretty sure it included something else for dessert too. I like the cupcake idea, very cute! Where are you having your repeption at? I think you said a marina, or something like that in N.S.? As for kids... lots of people have been asking about that. We have been talking a lot about baby names and that kind of thing. I would like to have a family relatively soon after we are married, but I think Ben would like to wait. So maybe one to two years? Who knows! :P Sorry for the loooooong note!
from lindzeeleigh :
I just saw that on the news tonight and I wondered if perhaps you knew him. That is very sad. :(
from lindzeeleigh :
Wow, as per usual you have been busy! I can't believe you have bought the next house already. I think the magic starts to wear off with house buying because it is not the first one and I think you are right about it being a necessity. I hope everything goes well for you over the next little bit. Good for you for buying the bikini - I bet you are one hot momma!!
from lindzeeleigh :
I am still not sure what I think about Wicked and I finished reading it last week! it was probably the most bizarre and interesting book I have read. I think you summed it up when you said it was definitely not what you were expecting. I would tend to agree with that. ;) I think I liked it though.....very different!
from lindzeeleigh :
I am glad for the update! It is nice to hear how you are doing and that things are going so well. And everything is moving so quickly! I am in awe of your wedding planning and moving expertise! And you have weaned Leila - look at you go! :) I still need to get shoes too! What kind are you thinking of getting? I am not into the super high heels, yikes! Is it too much to ask for something comfortable?? What is your actual wedding countdown now? I am so excited for you!
from lindzeeleigh :
I can't believe that you guys are moving again, that is nuts. At least you will be expert packers and movers by now! I hope it will all go smoothly for you with selling the house and everything.
from lindzeeleigh :
I think only you can decide when the time to start weaning is and now is obviously the right time for you. I can imagine it must be a hard decision to make, but it sounds like it will be the right decision for you. :) Thank for you always being so upfront and honest - it is nice to hear everything is not sugar coated. big hugs!
from greenergrass :
Wow - this is a wonderful and honest entry. Thank you for writing it, as I bet a lot of women go through this but don't admit it. I can't understand what you're going through, but I think I can understand a little bit the feeling of wanting to get back yourself. I worry (a lot) about that with this whole adventure as well.
from ebombmom :
Big hugs to you! It's obviously a decision fraught with issues, but I'll support you whatever you do.
from lindzeeleigh :
HEy miss Kaitlyn - I hope the papers are going well for you, I am sure you will get back into the swing of school in no time! I just got caught up on your entries, can Leila be any cuter?? Love those baby blues! I totally understood your entry about realizing you are getting married and all that sort of thing....sometimes it surprises me too. We are, like, grownups or something! :P HAha. :P xo
from ebombmom :
Babycakes, what you need is a wrap! You can wear toddlers up to 35 or so lbs in them, and they are awesome on your back since they wrap completely around your torso to distribute the weight. Have a fun trip to K-W! (I miss it!) :)
from greenergrass :
I'd say $200... or $250. I just bought a BM dress for $186. Too bad it won't fit anymore! My girls picked their own dresses and paid from $90 to at least $250... I think one girl might have paid more, but I didn't ask. I paid for spa day and one night of hotel accommodations since they all travelled soooo far.
from lindzeeleigh :
My bridesmaids are paying for their own dresses and they cost under 100 dollars each. So, I am nto sure what would be too exepensive to ask them to pay...I wouldn't go over 200 I don't think. You can always offer to pay a portion of the dresses and then they can cover the rest. I am sure you will get it all figured out.
from ebombmom :
Argh! I don't know, I wrestled over the whole thing, myself. Maybe no more than $200? I forget what my bridesmaid dresses even cost, at this point, but I do remember being very relieved that I found lovely strappy shoes for them to wear (not mandated, but a good find!) for about $20 a pair at Sears.... I'm sure that whatever the cost, your maids love you enough to smile and carry on, though. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I am glad that you had a nice visit with your mom. I am the same way with company- I like having peopel over but I also look forward to having my house back and getting back into my routine. Good luck with WW - I have heard it is really great. I am trying to lose my last 10 pounds too - for the wedding! :P
from lindzeeleigh :
AWwww, lovely picture of you and Leila - so cute! :) Good for you for making all those promises to yourself and keeping them - even the overalls, lol! How are the wedding plans coming? Anything new? I am going to look at more invites today! :)
from greenergrass :
very pretty! i loved looking at invites. -grass
from lindzeeleigh :
Holy crap - you are getting ahead of me, missy! I better start catching up! I am going to meet a lady at her house on Friday night to look at invites and then going to another place on Saturday. I like your invitations, they are simple, yet elegant. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
The bridesmaids dresses are very cute! AS for the colour of the sash and bow, what colour is your wedding dress? White or ivory? I think it looks nice all one colour in the fuschia, but it would like nice white if you had a hite wedding dress. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Yay wedding plans! I posted some pics of flowers on my site -did you see them? STill not 100 % on everything, but that is okay. You are a good mom and I really loved the last line of your entry about when the world is bigger than the livingroom rug. Wonderfully put. :)
from greenergrass :
cool - may 19 is a great date. we will be almost anniversary buddies - off by just over a week! anyway, glad to hear about wedding planning and baby growing and so on.
from ebombmom :
I, too, am dying for more wedding details. I love planning weddings for other people, haha! Also, that paragraph made me snerffly, too. Aww. Keep them babies close while you've got 'em!
from lindzeeleigh :
I think that is an excellent New Year's resolution - good for you! And as for the wedding plans, I am glad to hear everything is coming along so nicely. :) What kind of flowers are you getting? I am going to see a florist today and am not really sure.....?
from lindzeeleigh :
I am glad you got the wedding day and location figured out - the rest will all fall into place now. :) I am glad to hear that you had such a nice Christmas and that Santa was good to you. xo.
from lindzeeleigh :
Merry Christmas!! :) I hope you have a lovely holiday with your family. And as for the wedding woes, remember that it is YOUR day and you should do what you like. XO
from f-i-n :
have a beautiful holiday
from greenergrass :
you sound very happy - it's lovely to hear about.
from ebombmom :
Oh my God! When did she get SO chunky and luscious?!? She's gorgeous. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Awwwwww - Leila is SO adorable!!!! :) You have every reason to be blessed and thankful. Cute new layout!
from ebombmom :
Everything does sound so wonderful! :) If you're looking for French board books, try Usborne's - the "that's not my..." series comes in French and is hugely popular. If you don't have a local rep I can sell you some and drop ship 'em. ;)
from lindzeeleigh :
Glad to hear things are going so well! Minus the nipple biting. :P I am sure that will get better once she is used to the fact she has teeth. Your honeymoon plans sound exciting. We are still not sure where we are going yet! We need to figure out money and that kind of thing. Enjoy your Sunday!
from f-i-n :
happy turkey day
from ebombmom :
Not creepy! I feel the same way. :) Thanks for your lovely notes.
from lindzeeleigh :
I bet you are one HOT mama, you should post a pic of your new hair!!
from lindzeeleigh :
Oooh wedding dress shopping~! That is exciting. You will have to post or send some pics of that ones you are looking at, or maybe you will find one! Sorry I can't contribute much to the diaper talk. LoL.
from ebombmom :
Oh yeah - don't go using thick icky diaper creams with cloth dipes, it'll gum them up and kill some absorbency. If she has a rash use breastmilk. ;) Also, for prefolds you can buy mother-ease stay dry liners to lay in there for a nice barrier, or there are Flushies flushable liners (nice to prevent poop stains, but they are papery, so...). I love diaper talk.
from lindzeeleigh :
I loved this entry you wrote! It was so well worded and described things beautifully. I liked the part about pretending to eat your babies cubby thighs - I can totally picture that. I can't wait to hear more about your wedding plans. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
You won't screw up - you are doing a wonderful job and will continue to do so because you have the right heart and mind. You are her mother - you were chosen to be her mom, no one else. :) xo
from lindzeeleigh :
Awww- Leila is gorgeous! :) And I also see your engagement ring in the picture! Thanks for sharing. :)
from tootiturtle :
Your daughter is beautiful!
from lindzeeleigh :
YAY for your dad! That is such wonderful news. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Our date is July 28, 2007. When are you guys getting married?? That is exciting to book the church and get planning underway! We have a wedding website if you want to check it out : ben and linds dot com
from lindzeeleigh :
Awww, what a beatiful entry - you are indeed blessed! I also would like to see some new pictures! :)
from shevdevil :
I love reading your diary, I've been doing so for a long time. Thank you for sharing. There's another possibility which I've never tried but am also interested in: it's an implant that goes into your arm. It's good if you're breastfeeding and I like the fact that it's in the arm and not in the uterus. have a look under: http://www.fpa.org.uk/guide/contracep/conimp.htm
from ebombmom :
Yay, an update! I can send you stuff on the birth control thing, but I'm zonked right now (it's after midnight, yawn!) so by the end of the weekend I should be able to get an email off to you. Oh and NEW PICTURES PLEASE :)
from ebombmom :
Man, I know what you're going through. The hormone thing is normal - it takes a lot longer than most people realize. The hair loss is normal, but if you notice other symptoms keep your eyes peeled; thyroid wonkiness can be normal in the postpartum year, too, but in most cases takes care of itself. Raking leaves is good. :)
from harri3tspy :
I just surfed in from the diaryland members page. Nice diary! I wanted to say that when I had my son (now 5) I was totally blown away by the hormonal surges. I had a pretty even-tempered pregnancy and I was totally unprepared for the hormonally-fuelled emotional drama that was his first six months. Hang in htere -- it does get better!
from lindzeeleigh :
I hope you have a great date night with Steve - you deserve it! :) I think it is normal to feel hormonal after having a baby, I am sure everyhting will fall into place. Don't be too hard on yourself. ;)
from lindzeeleigh :
What a lovely entry! The news of your engagement makes me smile!! Your ring sounds soooo pretty. We are calling each other fiance(e) too and it is fun! :) Glad to hear Leila is doing so well - you are blessed!
from ebombmom :
Congratulations! So, so exciting. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
EEEEEEEEEE! That is SO exciting! Now we are both engaged and can share wedding planning ideas and gossip! Oh what fun! I can't wait to hear more about it, Kaitlyn!!
from tootiturtle :
Congratulations on your engagement!!! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I am glad to hear that you had such a grea time with your family. :) It must feel kind of weird to be be back and settling in and getting everything figured out. Thanks for the congratulations - I am very excited! Wedding planning is lots of fun. Hehe.
from lindzeeleigh :
Hahaha - the socks story is hilarious!! And a little gross all at the same time. Makes me laugh! At least you can both giggle about it. ;)
from lindzeeleigh :
Wow, so it is almost time for the big move. I hope all the packing and everything goes well. That can be kind of stressful, especially with a little baby. Good for you for getting all that cleaning done, I would have wanted to have a nap!!
from lindzeeleigh :
You will get it all figured out....you can still be a very great mommy as well as achieve and accomplish the goals you have set for yourself. All in good time. :) I am glad to hear that things are still going so well.
from lindzeeleigh :
What a lovely birth story!!! I am so glad you shared it. You are a brave woman, indeed. I can't wait to hear more about Leila and see new pictures of her as she grows. Enjoy all the precious little moments. ♥
from lindzeeleigh :
Awww - Happy Birthday Leila!!! :) I bet you are just thrilled. I can't wait to hear all about it!
from i-found-him :
Oh my gosh... Congratulations! Your little girl is beautiful! I didn't think she'd ever come. While I don't leave notes or comments, I do still read.
from f-i-n :
She has a very cute chin.
from lindzeeleigh :
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And I hope it is happy birthday for your new little bundle of joy soon too! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
it has been four days since you last updated! I can't help but wonder......are you having a baby?????
from lindzeeleigh :
I love that you talked to your baby today and hold her to come out! That is awesome. I hope she listens to you and comes to meet you guys soon! Perhaps this weekend....... :)
from f-i-n :
sending good vibes your way
from lindzeeleigh :
*crossing fingers!* I hope Baby comes soon. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
You diary is not boring! I like reading about baby and how excited you two are getting! :) I hope everything closes with the house, it sounds lovely, can't wait to see pics!!
from lindzeeleigh :
Aww, I am sorry to hear that you did not get the house, but that only means a better one is coming your way! As for the begins with "p" and ends in "regnant", I knew you would say that! HEhe. I really don't think I am since I am on the pill and all.....Just tired. Speaking of which, I am off for a nap! Can't stop yawning. :P
from f-i-n :
your doggy is sweet
from lindzeeleigh :
Oooh, I am sending house vibes your way!!! :) That would be so exciting, but if it doesnt pan out you will find something even better! Good luck! I can't believe you are full term in two weeks! Where has the time gone?!
from lindzeeleigh :
I am really laughing at the line "we are trying to recruit them as friends". How true is that?!?! LoL.
from lindzeeleigh :
Cut little ticker, I like it! I am sure the nest few weeks are just going to fly by! Ohh, a new layout, that is fun. I have been thinking about one but I am far too lazy. :P How is the belly?? It has been a while since the last pic! Hope you are having a lovely Easter weekend.
from lindzeeleigh :
You are indeed blossoming and beautiful. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Fun survey!! :) So when is the next belly pic coming? Hope all is going well with you so far.
from i-found-him :
Sure thing! I just need your e-mail address...I don't want to publicly post my password, of course. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
That is such a cute picture of Milo!! Awwwww. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Hahaha, know what's funny? I pictured you right away running with the baby in the snuggly like Steve did! Silly us. Strollers do make better sense. :P
from lindzeeleigh :
Big HUGS to you Kaitlyn! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Aww, I am so so sorry to hear about things with your friend. That must be really hard, for you and her both. I just got an email about being 20 something and it summed everything up so well, maybe you would like to read it. If you want, tell me your email and I will send it your way. :)
from ebombmom :
Totally check out an LLL meeting before having the baby. You will meet other friend Mommies there and it is invaluable to getting off to a good breastfeeding start. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Congrats on your baby girl!! That is so exciting! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
You have every right to feel emotional - you are pregnant and it is normal. And as for the belly photo, you have the cutest belly ever!!!

I am glad to hear everything is kay and going so well with you and baby. It will be so fun for you to find out if it is a boy or girl next week! I bet you have such a cute belly, you should take pics. I am glad you are feeling more comforted and reassured. xo

Ew, heartburn! You might consider trying some papaya enzymes (buy in capsule form), they can help. Tums are Ok, too. Otherwise, small meals, small sips of water with meals, stay upright 30 mins after eating, and grin and bear it! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
That is so exciting that you got the first picture ever of your baby!! I am super excited for you and I know you will be happy if it is a boy or a girl.....maybe you can find out at the next ultrasound - if not, surprises are kind of fun! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Love the new layout!! So cute for winter - we have no snow here yet! And as for the puppy, soooo adorable. I love dogs. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Awww, don't worry about gaining weight - it is a good weight to be gaining because you are helping something beautiful inside of you to grow and flourish. I know it won't be so hard once your tummy pops out and you have a nice round bump....I bet you will look like you have a basketball under your shirt!!
from lindzeeleigh :
So exciting about the heartbeat and that you can now post pics!! Here is what you do to enter a picture <img src = "link to pic here" />. Now you can post belly pics and other fun stuff like that. I am so excited for you. Cute pic of the baby daddy. :P

Glad to hear you are safely settled and that your pregnancy is going well. I can't believe you are almost in your second trimester already!! Time is going by so fast. I hope the doctor decides to take you on as a patient so that you can get things going on the dr front. Glad to hear everything is going so well. :)
from f-i-n :
wow..that was a lovely entry.
from lindzeeleigh :
Thanks for the congrats on my new job - I can't believe I start this morning. Yikes! :S I hope that the nausea begins to subside and that you are not sick for a lot of your pregnancy because that is no fun! Hope everything is going well. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I am sure your mom will come around. I think that most parents are still a little old fashioned and think that you have to get married first before you have a baby, but they have to realize that that just isn't the way things always work anymore. Just because you aren't married doesn't mean you are going to love each other or baby less. I am glad to hear everything went well at the doctor's. Your is going to be excited in no time. She will love being a grandma - you will see. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
p.s. lots of people I know are getting pregnant while on birth control lately! I have been on it for almost seven years now and have heard stories about not being able to get pregnant when you go off it, but lately it seems to be the other way around! Who knows what can happen......it has me a little curious, that is for sure!! Okay, enough taking up space in your notes for today. :P
from lindzeeleigh :
I *knew* you were pregnant! I have been wondering if you were going to bring it up again, ever since that entry your wrote about you and Steve talking about it! I am SO happy for you, that is exciting news and I would have a hard time waiting to tell everyone too. I would suggest writing down your questions as they come to you because goodness knows you will probably forget when you get to the doctor! Congratulations. I look forward to reading as you progress along. :) xoxo
from lindzeeleigh :
hmm, it sounds like a lovely dream to me!! Hehehe. :P

I loved reading your list of 101 things about you.....I was constantly surprised by how many things on your list rang true for me. I won't list them all to you, but there were a lot of things in common. That is neat to find. :)
