About Me...

Hey, I'm Hannah.

I was born in Nebraska, USA, raised in Nebraska, and have lived in Nebraska all of the 16 years of my life. I have no problem with being Nebraskan- unlike some people I know, who seem to think that life is dreadful and boring out here. I disagree- I love this state, its violent and drastic "mood swings", (changes in weather), and the unpredictability that it throws at you. Well, anyway you get the picture- I LOVE NEBRASKA.

As I'm sure most of you know, my dad is a Pastor, and has been as long as I've lived. As a result, I've grown up in a Christian family and have come to know the Lord at a fairly early age. It's been quite an interesting situation being a Pastor's daughter- for one, you get to watch on as old friends leave, and as new ones arrive...that in itself can be tough and mind-boggling, lol. But, as it says in Job 1:21, "The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."

OK- most of you most likely know that I'm a musician, that I write music, sing, play piano/keyboards, and electric/acoustic guitar, and even a little drums and violin. I'm currently leading the worship at my church with guitar, which is an incredible learning experience for me. It seems like whenever I think things are going well and everything is under control, God shows me something new to work on. It most definitely keeps me in my place! I'm currently in a couple bands, so it's just another crazy/fun experience. The music I write for my bands vary- with one it's more upbeat stuff- it would probably be classified as rock, I dunno. And with the other one I'm in, I co-write music with the vocalist- generally speaking our music is folk-rocky I guess. I generally write in 3 different styles of music, Instrumental (mainly stuff for piano), rock, (the stuff for my band- I write lyrics to go with it), and I also write a kinda folky, guitar-type stuff that I can't even attempt to classify (also with lyrics to it). It's just my own individual style as a musician, I guess. Sometimes being a musician is annoying- like at the dinner-table for instance, when a song or an awesome drumbeat pops into my head and I just have to tap it out on the table with my fork- or on the floor with my feet, lol. But my bliss never lasts- I'm always brought back to earth by a reprimand from one of my two parents, usually my dad. And then there's the instances where I just fade out from everything that's going on around me, and don't hear "please pass the butter" being uttered 5 times, until someone practically shouts it in my face, or shoves me.

I have about 200 CD's, because I am into many different styles of music- ranging from rock to folk music, to crunk, to even a little 80's stuff, lol.
