Ramblings of A Bookworm

"What refuge is there for the victim who is oppressed with the feeling that there are a thousand new books he ought to read, while life is only long enough for him to attempt a hundred?"

-Oliver Wendall Holmes, Sr.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
comments:  I recommend you see this one. The only cartoon that can make me cry.
Wit
comments:  Emma Thompson is brilliant, and this movie about an English professor who gets cancer is so wonderful, and she is, like the title suggests, very witty.
The Little Mermaid
comments:  I've loved this one since I was a little kid. When I was little, I WAS Ariel. I had the red, flaxen flammatory hair to prove it.
Anastasia
comments:  The drawings and music are beautiful, and I love how it all ties up into history.

My favorite authors:

J.K. Rowling
comments:  "Harry Potter" is just...I don't even have words to say how wonderful it is.
Jane Austen
comments:  Henry James, Charlotte Bronte, Charles Dickens, etc. I love the classics.
Tracy Chevalier
comments:  "Girl With a Pearl Earring", "Falling Angels", and "The Virgin Blue" are some of my favorite books ever.
Dodie Smith
comments:  "I Capture the Castle" is a brilliant book; and J.K.Rowling thinks so too!
Phillip Pullman
comments:  "The Golden Compass", "The Subtle Knife" and "The Amber Spyglass" are my favorite books. They are...AMAZING. *sob sob* I love them.
