Pancakes, once cooked properly, by their very nature are golden brown. You pour the batter on a low heat pan, wait to see bubbles in the middle, flip the cake, and wait until the cake is relatively firm (testing by slapping it with the spatula). If your cake comes out any paler than the palest mixed race person you have ever seen then your cake is no good. White pancakes are uncooked batter on a plate. Period. No argument. Just serve it, and wait for the person making the impossible order of white pancakes to leave. (S)he will likely do something stupid after that. Not your fault. White pancakes are uncooked pancakes. Fact.
