Hi! I'm Amelia. I'm 24, just got done with undergrad and am currently taking some time off to be a gypsy. These are things I love: my family, my friends, acting, the color red, orange flavored candy, pranks and practical jokes, happy music, singing at the top of my lungs, staying up all night with my pals, pizza, bodies of water, watching really talented people do what they do best, laughing til I pee my pants, falling down and watching other people fall down, white wine, happy people, interesting people, people with a lust for life. Things I cannot abide by: MASH reruns, blue or green food or drinks, moldy food, brooders, goody-goodies, boring/commonplace people, negative anything, no talent ass clowns.

My favorite diaries:

My favorite music:

Outkast
comments:  I'm really into Oukast right now because they make me think of a boy that I'm real sweet on right now. Plus The Love Below/Speakerboxx is just a really kick ass album. These fellas know how to have a good time.
Coldplay
comments:  I LOVE COLDPLAY! I just think that they write such beautiful music and it's all of their stuff makes for great personal life soundtracks. I can't get enough of it.
Musicals
comments:  I fancy myself somewhat of a singer and the best stuff to sing along with is stuff that's meant to be sung. I like almost something from every genre of musical theatre: classics, rock opera, Sondheim, newbies like Jason Robert Brown
Monster Rock
comments:   These are turning into types of music rather than actual bands, but oh well. Good old fashioned rock has wormed its way into my heart: Def Leppard, ACDC, Led Zepplin, Guns and Roses, The Darkness. Juicy guitar solos and skinny dude wailing on vocals. YUM
A little bit of everything else
comments:  Queen, Aretha Franklin, Patsy Cline, Harry Connick Jr, Rufus Wainwright, Duran Duran, old school R & B, Motown stuff, some country, Gorillaz, Grandaddy, Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Xanadu soundtrack, Peter Cetera, etc.

My favorite movies:

Monster Squad
comments:  Pure childhood fun. Period.
Ocean's 11
comments:  The new one. I think this is a near perfect heist movie. Good times all around.
Like Water for Chocolate
comments:  One of the most accurate cinematic representations of a book I've ever seen.
Frida
comments:  This movie makes my pupils dialate, it's soooo pretty!
School of Rock
comments:  I know, I know. But I just really love this movie right now. It's ridiculous amounts of fun. OH! There's no space left but I also love True Romance. I think it's Quentin Tarantino's best screenplay.

My favorite authors:

To Kill A Mockingbird
comments:  I'm not playing by the rules. Books instead of authors. I don't know how anyone can be human and not love this book. It's freakin' beautiful, people! I think I love the brother/sister relationship the most.
Like Water for Chocolate
comments:  A must read for anyone who has ever been in love. An achingly exquisite novel about the lengths two people will go to in order to be together. Breaks my heart everytime I read it.
Neverwhere
comments:  Neil Gaiman. Two of the best villians ever written: greasy, slimy, loathsome and utterly hilarious. An incredible fantasy tale.
Naked
comments:  David Sedaris. I laughed so hard that I think I actually peed my pants.
Rebecca Gilman
comments:  Playing by the rules this time...except that she's a playwright not an author. She writes disturbingly beautiful portraits of the dark underbelly of the human condition. Add Neil Labute to the mix as well.
