Look--look!--can you see it? It's already gone.

I am only sure that I'm not really sure about anything. At times, I am hit with inspiration, but I'm never sure of what to do with it. I tell myself that I am a cynic gone awry, though deep down I think I'm still that romantic who longs to find a true love. I fear that I may think too much. I have a passion to write, but I don't do enough of it. I am happy with life. I am in a wheelchair. I'm a guy. If I could live life like a star in a John Hughes film, I would, most definitely!

My favorite music:

Jimmy Buffett
comments:  A parrothead I be. Arrr! I've made my sojourn to Key West, I've bought the cds, and went to (sadly) only one concert. His style is awesome, his philosophy simple yet profound. Tells a damn good story.
The Police
comments:  Tremendous talent and a good vision. Their word play and lyrics are awesome and truly mark their genius.
Smoke City
comments:  Portishead, Led Zeppelin, Tenacious D, Martin Denny, ZZ Top, Aborigine tribal, native tribal in general, Loreena McKennitt, 80's, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kylie Minogue, Dee Lite, The Clash, Madonna, Primus, Frank Sinatra, The Yardbirds, Dread Zeppelin...
Django Reinhardt
comments:  His mastery of the guitar is phenomenal. He overcame a terrible injury and still played better than anyone.
Sting
comments:  I am truly inspired by this man. He overwhelms me with his talent and success. I deeply admire and respect him.

My favorite movies:

Braveheart
comments:  William Wallace was a great man. He died for what he loved, Scotland. This movie may not be accurate on every account, but it did a lot to foster Scottish pride. It is powerful, beautiful and sad. A great movie.
Indiana Jones
comments:  These movies inspired my love of history and adventure. They are smart, fun and always exciting. The character Indiana Jones has done much to shape my life. Great stories, great movie and a great character!
Crocodile Dundee
comments:  And...Jackie Chan! He is truly an amazing man. He could definitely live up to role-model status. His martial skills are outstanding, his humor is a little cheesy but good. His stunts are awesome and his injuries real.
The Thin Man
comments:  Nick Charles is the pinnacle of suave. The subtle wit that goes on throughout the movies is hilarious. Nick, Nora and Asta make a great combination. These movies crack me up and make me wish I could have partied with Nick Charles!
Star Wars
comments:  These movies are very special to me. Lucas was a student of Joseph Campbell and his movies show it. The common myth of the hero coming of age to achieve his destiny was portrayed wonderfully in the Star Wars saga.

My favorite authors:

Bruce Lee
comments:  He was not only an actor, he was a great human being, philosopher and martial artist. He was so young yet so wise. He perfected his body and martial skills and still he pushed on! He was always striving for more and that says a lot.
Richard Marcinko
comments:  This man changed my life. His books and himself personally taught me so much. He is a warrior in the truest sense. He knows the meaning of leadership and determination. He also tells a romping damn good story FYVM!
Laurens van der Post
comments:  And so many more...Morgan Llywelyn, Thomas Cleary, Richard Feynman...
Carlos Castaneda
comments:  His books bring a deep feeling of magick to my whole being. There is a lot of controversey if it is all real or not, I happen to think it is. I truly wish I could come across a teacher like don Juan.
J.R.R. Tolkien
comments:  The lore master. The man created a whole world. He creates such a sense of magic and mystery, it makes me long for Middle Earth. What can I say? His works have forever changed my life, given my imagination new depths. FRODO LIVES!
