No Safe Haven

Boys play the piano, all dressed up in emo, with black hair and Diesel. And girls pose in the hallways, and belt like they're leaving, all headed for Broadway.

My favorite music:

Paris Combo
comments: French. I have no idea what they're saying, but "Attraction," "Living Room," and "Homeron," make me feel very good.
boa
comments: "Duvet" from Serial Experiments Lain is excellent, as is most from Race of a Thousand Camels.
Hawksley Workman
comments: Melodramatic, wild, and pulse-poundingly sexy. I love this man.
Enya
comments: Beautiful, sweet and moody.
Trespassers William
comments: The lead singer has one of the most distinctive voices ever. The music is melancholy, and wistful, and nourishes my lonely lows.

My favorite movies:

Lola Rennt
comments: Game Theory meets MTV.
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
comments: Guy Ritchie. The style is fresh only once, let's hope he doesn't make another Snatch and ruin it.
Arsenic and Old Lace
comments: Carey Grant was just sexy. This movie is an oldie but goodie, as they say. I also liked him in Harvey. These are movies that I remember from childhood.
Spirited Away
comments: "Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi" is the real name of this anime movie, done in grand style. It's absolutely beautifully animated, the storyline is fantastical and ethereal and captivating. Instant favorite.
Labyrinth
comments: I had my very first naughty dream with Jared in it from this movie. I'd have to say this is tied with Neverending Story.

My favorite authors:

R. A. Salvatore
comments: The way he describes fight scenes is amazing. I've never seen anything so clearly as when I've read any of his books, most especially the ones involving Drizz't.
JK Rowling
comments: C'mon. Harry Potter is absolutely enchanting. Her books have made loving reading "cool" for kids.
Madeleine L'Engle
comments: I remember reading, "A Wrinkle In Time," as a younger girl, then having the book banned in my school. Charming, enchanting, mind-expanding stories.
C. S. Lewis
comments: The Narnia Chronicles made my childhood highly enchanting.
Jeff Mach
comments: Has a way with words; see: "GIVE."

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
