read me

a fifth year teacher...

"You are the habit I can't seem to kick.

You are my secrets on the front page every week.

You are the car I never should have bought.

You are the dream I never should have caught.

You are the cut that makes me hide my face.

You are the party that makes me feel my age.

Like a car crash I can see but I just can't avoid.

Like a plane I've been told I never should board."

My favorite diaries:

un-bad profile - diary
comments: "Most of this evening has been spent laying on the graveled and tarred roof of my parents' home singing a song from 1968 over and over because right tonight it fits me like a glove."

comments: "somebody should make up stories about my childhood for me. i'm just interested in seeing what my childhood might have been like if someone else were writing the script."
sarong profile - diary
comments: "what crosses my mind as i watch the film is the ultimate essentialism of poems carved into trees with an axe and the (more immediate) implication of my nature writing professor's arm draped around his wife's hunched shoulders."
epiphany profile - diary
comments: "Drunk raunchy Balderdash is more fun than G-rated sober Balderdash." An English teacher.

comments: "life is made up of moments and details: these are what make it all worth it, i think."

comments: "We do not wear watches and keep our clocks running for what you might expect. We hold time on our wrists not that we may remember time, but that we might forget it now and then for a moment and not spend all our days trying to conquer it."
dialzero profile - diary
comments: "Today, work was ridiculous. I was doing the same thing I did all last week--picking dead leaves and buds off geraniums. That is not something that anyone should be made to do for a week. They're supposed to rotate us, bastards!"

comments: "i am running now. my sides are aching and my hair is on fire but it doesn't matter because this is purgation. this is cleaning."

comments: "Multi-Billion-Dollar Corporate Behemoths just HATE IT when an unenthusiastic consumer like me comes into one of their stores and only spends, like, five bucks."

comments: "...ah it was lovely and I felt like I was in England and loving being in England and loving being in my 'I'm on exchange and have to do things I wouldn't normally do' mentality. Wonderfulwonderfulwonderful."

comments: "I have a friend from college who always said "my beauty is reflecting." We always laughed at her but that statement is so true. Love reflects love and hate reflects hate."

comments: Somedays, I just want to run away to London.

comments: Livin' in London--a new find.

comments: "I want to move out of my apartment, I want to change jobs, I want to leave town, I want to change countries and I want every single one of you to pull a blanket over yourselves when I walk by so that I can pretend I am the only person in the world.&

comments: This is a "photo-journal". It's neat. "I want my body to continue to move fast enough to keep up with my mind and my attention span."

update: Still fixing stuff as fast as I can!. As you may have noticed, Diaryland is being renovated, which is still in progress. Bugs are all being fixed. The new design should work on phones much better than the old one, and pages in the members area are being converted to the new look one by one, so they can be tested. Please email help@diaryland.com with any new problems, but things that are already bugs should be fixed soon!
