My Stories

Do you know that there are people in this world who don't have to put up with all of this shit?

My favorite diaries:

mudgirl    profile - diary
comments:  I enjoy Mudgirl's diary when she feels like writing in it. I wish it was more frequently.
madtownlivin    profile - diary
comments:  Dude! Listen up, peeps! Nicole is the jam, bitches!
jewels1111    profile - diary
comments:  This is The Year of Adam and Julie.
forallthis    profile - diary
comments:  I love Karlie.
justadream    profile - diary
comments:  I want to visit, but the funds simply are not available.
letsdothis    profile - diary
comments:  I enjoyed staying at her apartment in lovely T.O. a few years back. I hope to live there at some point in my life.
kizzykim    profile - diary
comments:  I think she likes Canada, which, by default, makes her a friend of mine.

My favorite music:

ELO
comments:  High quality band from the 1970's and early 1980's. Lots of orchestral arraingments in their pop/rock songs; that's something I love. Jeff Lynne is a musical genius.
Billy Joel
comments:  One of the best songwriters and musicians of my era. Would like to see him in concert.
Radiohead
comments:  Lots of good music for when you feel depressed and want to stay mellowed out. OK Computer is one of the best albums I've ever heard.
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass
comments:  These guys are musical geniuses. Some of the best instrumental pieces you'll ever find. You will not be mad or depressed when you listen to them.
Mason Jennings
comments:  Yeah, Mason is fantastic. There are some other musicians I rather like, including, but not limited to: Eric Clapton (pre-1980), Sheryl Crow, The Clash, The Pretnders, The Light Brigade, Sarah McLaughlin (sp?), The Eagles, and various others.

My favorite movies:

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
comments:  One of the greatest movies of all time. This movie is like a shot in the arm when I'm depressed or mad. Cameron reminds me of myself when I was in high school. Fortunately, things change.
Swingers
comments:  The best movie nobody has ever seen. Another movie that can really pick me up. Highly entertaining. It's money baby.
Caddyshack
comments:  One of those fine comedies that the '80's were known for. All I have to say is, "Spaulding! Get your foot off the boat!"
Strange Brew
comments:  Take off, eh. Like, it's the greatest thing out of Canada except for the Windsor Tunnel. (J/K. Canada is the shit.)
Office Space
comments:  Yeah, hi. I'm going to need you to watch this movie on Saturday. Oh, and remember Friday is Hawaiian Shirt Day.

My favorite authors:

Aldous Huxley
comments:  He wrote the book, BRAVE NEW WORLD. One of only 2 books I read completely in high school.
George Orwell
comments:  ANIMAL FARM is the only other book I read in high school. It's not bad and shows how the Soviets Union was formed, but in the form of a fable.
George Carlin
comments:  I'm not sure if I'd consider him an author, but he's written some fine comedy material over the past 40 years. Many of his views on life reflect my own.
Louise Fitzhugh
comments:  Ok, I read HARRIET THE SPY in 7th grade because I saw it on the TV show GHOSTWRITER. She's the author of this wonderful piece of literature.
n/a
comments:  I promise to make an attempt to read a little more this year. I prefer magazine articles over books. I don't have the patience to sit through a whole book sometimes.
