For all the bad that I do...

I friend of mine just told me "For all the bad you may do you more than make up for it with the good." I want to put that on T-shirts and bumper stickers. For all the bad that I do...

My favorite diaries:

fiimma profile - diary
comments: This my old roomy. We used to watch baseball together and sew and plan Halloween costumes. She is a fabulous person. Her diary is a lot of fun complete with illustrations. It is filled with dreams and the horrors of a small town in VT.

comments: She knows about Captain Vegetable...

comments: The heck you say!
johnpowers profile - diary
comments: Who doesn't read johnpowers?
dogsdontpurr profile - diary
comments: Lots of interesting things going on here... Extremely addictive.... And the mistress of the Sewing Genie!
marn profile - diary
comments: This one is way too much fun... such style and sass!
polishstreak profile - diary
comments: Ah! English teachers tend to have great diaries.
sa-land profile - diary
comments: Dig my my grave... I love it.
greschya profile - diary
comments: I like her stuff. She has spunk and sass and live in New England!
sooner profile - diary
comments: Oh my! This is the good stuff....
heavenlyging profile - diary
comments: She did a random guestbook signing... No random deed should go unrewarded.
zuluzap profile - diary
comments: Oh my smart and sassy sister! She rocks she rolls and she won't post until after thanksgiving at least... but she's so cool.

My favorite music:

My favorite movies:

Jaws
comments: Spielberg finest work and one of the scariest movies of all time. Yeah you don't think it's scary right now but try humming the theme in the ocean, or a lake or even a pool... it gets creepy fast.
A Room with View
comments: Its not what the actors say that makes their acting so great but what they don't say. Also male nudity in a hysterical bathing scene but no female nudity.
Labyrinth
comments: It's got Muppets, it has David Bowie, there is singing and a big giant maze. Who could ask for anything more (except to play Sarah... lucky Jennifer)?
Joe Versus the Volcano
comments: I know most people think this is an awful movie but I love it. It's a fairy tale, no more no less. Well, maybe that's a over simplifying... after all it is a subtle work of genius. (thanks for the reminder Z)
Jackie Brown
comments: Alright I'll admit I like Resevoir Dogs better but Pam Grier gives a great performance in this one. I'll also mention Out of Sight as a favorite movie because I really expected to hate that one (Clooney aand Lopez).

My favorite authors:

Edith Wharton
comments: Yeah, it fall under that literature category but honestly she writes beautifully and has a few great novels. "Glimpses of the Moon" is lighthearted and fun, but if you are into depressing go with "The House of Mirth"
F. Scott Fitgerald
comments: I'm a Gatsby girl. But my favorite stories are "Bernice Bobs Her Hair" and "The Offshore Pirate". He has that same sense of charm that Wharton has and they both have great insight into the American mindset.
Roald Dahl
comments: Okay you read his children's books, which are fabulous but have you read his adult fiction? Yikes! You knew he was a little twisted when you read his work for kids. But he takes it to new levels with his adult writing. Twisted.
Shirley Jackson
comments: Yeah we all have read "The Lottery" and it is great. But take some time and read her books about her family, she is a riot.
JK Rawling
comments: I'd be lying if I said I was less than completely mesmerized by the Harry Potter books. I don't know what it is but they are great.

update: Still fixing stuff as fast as I can!. As you may have noticed, Diaryland is being renovated, which is still in progress. Bugs are all being fixed. The new design should work on phones much better than the old one, and pages in the members area are being converted to the new look one by one, so they can be tested. Please email help@diaryland.com with any new problems, but things that are already bugs should be fixed soon!
