Vacation

Hello,

Well we're back from vacation. The laundry is all done, Cat1 is sleeping by my feet and I was trying to catch up on my reading out here, but now I'm tired and I suspect I need to get some grocery shopping done.

We had a nice time in Virginia. We drove down last Saturday with everyone on the east coast and their mothers. It was very crowded. We tried out the new toy that dh bought. A GPS. It took us around 95 on a bunch of roads we've never heard of, but it had the right idea, because every time we got on 95 it hardly moved. We finially got to Williamsburg around 7:30pm. We even went to Bush Gardens that night. It was nice. We went to Water World (or something like that) the next day and got sun burn and achy feet. I don't know what they had on the ground, but I should have broken down and bought the water shoes sooner. I had blisters. Like it wasn't bad enough that my foot still hurt from being broken, but now I had blisters on what was our first full day on vacation. Yes it was a stupid move for me. That night we went on a ghost tour. It was a bit lame. I was a bit lame. It was a long walk. I made the dh come and get me when the tour was done. He had a hard time finding me. It seems the GPS doesn't have Colonial Williamsburg mapped.

Aside of wishing I had someone else's feet to walk on the trip was pretty good, however Virginia is humid. Yuck! I guess it was "Cindy" making her presence known.

The kids wanted to spend more time with the boy that went with friends of ours who met us down there, but we weren't on the same schedule and I was very slow with the foot thing. We did meet up and do dinner and some stuff together.

I was sorry to turn on the news on Thursday. {{{Hugs}}} go out to all those in London or have relatives there. I keep expecting something like that to happen here. The evil behind that is just ... well there aren't words.

I bought a book that contains a few stories written by slaves in the 1700s. It's an interesting book. I had no idea the view they had of life back then. Boats seemed magical to them, as well as watches and paintings. And the cruelity of the white man (men of many colors actually) was, well I guess it really doesn't surprise me, but still. Why would one man feel he could treat another in such a horrible way and still think he could get into heaven?
