My Hometown, 2038

I wrote this following poem for a school project, so I had to revise it without my school and town name and such. We all wrote a poem on our hometown and what we thought it wouuld be like in twenty-five years. Mine's a little far-fetched, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!

in 2038

Down by my high school,
Where reading was thought to be cool,
Kids learn from computer chips,
And those with books are considered drips.
They'd raise their eyebrow if you said "school bus",
"Vehicles that ride on land aren't for us!"
They have a stylish way to take trips,
Instead, they go to school in school ships!

Just off the street called "Route 73",
Is where my neighborhood [neighborhood name] used to be,
Now it is lined up with big factories
No longer can you find plants or trees.
I remember when kids would play ball,
They now only visit the floating space mall,
Phones can now talk and don't need to be dialed,
Oh, how I longed for that as a child!

Things changed so quickly, it's all just a blur,
The artifical sun is our only reminder of nature.....
