It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

It's been a while since I've updated, so I will give a decent recap of events since.

Mischief Night: 10/30

We didn't get egged, tp'd, trashed, or bothered at all. Actually, we were up til about 11pm decorating our back porch to be semi-spooky n such. During the day, our jack'o laterns became breeding colonies for blackflies. Fun fun fun.

Halloween: 10/31

That was interesting. I spent 2 weeks making #2 son's costume (spider) and 2 hours making #1 son's costume (cheese n crackers). It was a beautiful day outside, littered with scores of angry pissed off bees. Lovely. TOo many h.s. kids trick or treat. It's a sad sad day when the kids asking for candy are taller then you. The baby dressed up as a red hot chili pepper (the veggie, not the band).

Picture Day Horror: Sunday, 11/2

We endured hell at Sears Photo Studio w/ the folks. Circus gone amuk and caught on film. It was hot, stuffy, and we were in tight quarters. My pants were ripped and I didn't know it, but it was graciously pointed out in front of everyone by son #1. Nice kid. It went nuts, mom was mad at me for not buying HER pics of the kids (even though dad told us he would buy his own). Grumpy old people + tired parents + wound up and stressed out kids = one pissed off me.

We went to the diner afterwards w/ mom stuffing the order form in my face asking me which pics I ordered (we had covered this three times....THREE TIMES)

Everyone in their own rooms: Mon, Nov. 3

Yes, the baby has his own room now. YIPPIE! NO more tip-toeing around my room at night, waking up at 5am with both the baby and E... *sighssss* I'll miss him 2 feet from my head though... but I'm sure I'll get over it.

Unseasonably HOT/WARM weather. 77 in NOvember and the weather whores are calling it an "INdian Summer." Sorry, folks...summer ended a while ago. We're now into "Indian Fall."

I didn't forget my #2 son at school (He has 1/2 days all week then Th. and Fr. off for teacher's convention... which I'm not going to this year... first time in 6 years :( *whimpers*) He was proud of the fact that I remembered. E even called me to remind me. By then, I was showered and dressed and nearly finished w/ my paper. HA! I said... phooey on yooouey

I also finished my paper... well, the rough draft. Then, I was thinking about it last night and am upset that I didn't insert more information about the queen's perspective or intricate battle plans or something (it's on the Spanish Armada- 1588). I'm a grad student for goodness sake. So, I decided that since I'm at my max (15 pages), I need to reread it anyways. So, I'll find something to omit then put in the 4 paragraphs I wrote substantiating Elizabeth's viewpoints and will have to compile some paragraphs on battle formats. (I hate battles for this reason... ugh) But, the bulk of it is finished... time to fine tune. :)

Sad news: Tues., Nov. 4

I woke up perplexed. I dreamt that my FATHER left my MOTHER for my MOTHERINLAW. *YUUUUUUCK!!!* E says I am definitely losing my mind. I must be, you haven't seen my mil.

Not only are there no considerable candidates to vote for, but someone I knew passed away this weekend. My supervisor for student teaching had passed on Saturday. He was SUCH a nice guy. He was supportive, compassionate, funny, and always wise and insightful. A sad loss... tis for sure.

I have class tonight. I have to yet finish my reading from two weeks ago. (heh)

I'm procrastinating on every other thing... Like, rescheduling doctor's appointments. Sue me, ok? I'm sick of dealing w/ my insurance company*... they suck

*I won't name them, but if you have them you'll know immediately when I say that they suck at paying hospital bills, medical bills, and anything else I pay for them to cover.

Ok, kids... that's about it. I do want to emphasize that dreaming about my dad leaving my mom for my mil was disturbing to say the least. I think it grossed out E... b/c I sure as hell know it did for me. *Gag*
