A Distant Family

It turns out my parents are driving up here, to Hackettspatch, due in sometime tomorrow night. They're coming to see Susan's baby's christening.

Which... is nice.

No, they're not staying with me. They're staying with Auntie. Then on Monday morning, they're leaving again.

I should be happy to see them, I guess. Even though I'm supposed to go down to their house come July or something. I don't know. I don't much care, anymore. Today I was realizing that the only time I see aunts / uncles / cousins etc is at funerals--because no one's getting married, they's all hitched up. I haven't spoken to my brother since Xmas (and he owes me $257 for his plane ticket--so he isn't going to be calling me anytime soon).

What's worse, none of this bothers me nearly as much as it should. I've grown accustomed to having no one considered "family" around.

I dunno, maybe one day the Mothership will remember to pick me up on Her way home.
