Response: "Hi, NPRMommy!" O.k., I admit it, I enjoy watching American Idol. The funny thing is, I hate most of the music they sing, and a lot of the contestants just annoy the crap out of me. But somehow, this is enjoyable. Especially when I'm thinking "Boy, that really sucked," and then Simon says "Boy, that really sucked." (Except Simon usually uses a word like "miserable" or "horrible," and with the English accent, anything he says automatically sounds more elegant and educated.) Actually, I'm somewhat of a reality TV addict. From The Real World to Amazing Race to Survivor. The only shows I have no interest in are the dating shows. The sight of a group of women waiting for a rose from a virtual stranger (and sobbing when they don't get one) is just pathetic.
