Frozen Ocean

Michael showed me a picture of a surf spot near Herring Cove but it was tightly cropped and we were trying to figure out which way to go around the rocks to get to it. It was in fact the same spot I've dreamed of so many times before. We went there and Andrea came along. I got ready but Michael was taking forever. Everyone was so fucking distant. I peeped around the rocks and could see enormous waves. They would build and build and build like bright blue skyscrapers and freeze almost completely still but then let go and unleash their power onto the rocks. I did not want to get in the water. I watched this for quite some time and it just got stronger and stronger.

Andrea and I wandered into town. Herring Cove had turned into a Santa Cruz kind of place with a big arts scene. I found a Japanese garden that we both went into. You could wade into the ponds, which I did. They were nice and warm and peaceful. Andrea was getting away from me and then I woke up.
