August 25, 2003 - 4:50 p.m.

I think I ran over a guinea pig. I swear it wasn�t a rat or an opossum. It was brown and had no visible tail. And it looked too big to be a hamster. I feel terrible. Do you think some poor kid�s pet got loose and I creamed it?

As I was driving home on my lunch break, this fuzzy brown thing ran into the road. There was nothing I could do. There was no one around on the street, but there was a car behind me and one coming from the opposite direction. I couldn�t avoid it. I looked back and didn�t see anything and hoped I�d hallucinated. On the way back to the office, I looked for it and noticed the squished-to-a-pulp brown spot on the road in the opposite lane. Poor little thing!

The other bizarre thing was that I saw the most bow-legged man I have ever seen near the RV park today, too. I swear his legs curved outward. He looked like a cowboy. But dressed as a beach bum who likes heavy metal.
