curious-me's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Less crabby! Alright time to cover up that last post. I am definitely less crabby today. Monday is all but done! The weekend turned out to be ok. Keith and I drove a few hours east. As we neared our destination the jeep started to make a weird - loud - very loud - sound. We both started to get nervous. As I pulled off the highway it got really loud so Keith instructed me to pull into the closest parking lot. Turns out one of the wheels that was changed had all loose lug nuts. I think that's what they are called. So um... the wheel was, you know, coming off. Yikes. Thankfully Keith tightened everything up and the sound was gone. He was puzzled why the one wheel had loose nuts when the other 3 were fine. He thinks foul play. I don't know. I'm just thankful we were ok and so was the jeep - our only remaining working vehicle at this point. We made it to the memorial service with time to spare. It was a small gathering. Mostly S's family and uh my family. We all showed up for her. She was a staple in our household growing up - we were inseparable as teenagers. Which leads to an interesting question that comes up later. After the service everyone chatted and we were the last to leave - me and my family. Like I had mentioned we were supposed to stay over but as everyone was recovering from one illness or another we headed back on the highway. Fun story - I had bought a bra online and it didn't fit - I was able to exchange it back at the store - apparently just one store in the heart of downtown Toronto. I cursed myself the whole time for not looking up the store beforehand as I would have decided against it. The drive was brutal. In total 3 hours of sitting in traffic for 8 minutes of exchanging a bra - somehow doesn't seem worth it. Although tbh the bra is quite comfy! We then booked it out of there on fumes - both in gas for the car and our empty tummies! We filled both and were back on the road and home by 9pm. Long day. Keith was snoring within minutes of his head hitting the pillow - being up since 3am will do that to you. Sunday we got the adult stuff out of the way early in the day then went out for a bit of fun for a few hours. Home for din and then banana zoom with my mom that evening. I was also in the middle of organizing a mother's day switch up. I'm trying to plan a get together the weekend after and also to help my parents open up their trailer for the season. The reason for the switch was to accommodate S' 50th b-day which falls on mother's day weekend. And now for the interesting question time! S came up with a plan for her 50th which involves a full day in Toronto going to various fun places. Her b-day falls on the 10th which is a Friday. So that's the day they were thinking. Except uh I work and Keith not only works but even if we could attend later in the day he has to work Saturday so there's no way he could even attend. Our friend CB who helped plan the event works Saturday - she's a crafter so weekends are her busy times. So that's the issue! Who will S choose?! I honestly don't know how this will go. CB and her hubby are really a fun couple who love to drink and up for anything. Keith and I are fun but uh we also whine about being tired - ha. So I guess I can't be mad if she chooses them on the Friday. Stay tuned! Ok I wrote more than I thought. Time to call it a day and put this laptop to bed and then me. Ok maybe not quite yet but soon. I slept like crap last night. But this week should hopefully go fast and I got fun stuff to look forward to. Wednesday I'm having din with a froworker (friend coworker). We can chat for hours! Then Friday I'm checking out of work a bit early and Keith and I are going to the movies then Saturday we're going away to a fancy hotel where we will stay overnight and also get a couples massage.
