THE END

2004-07-26 11:49 p.m.

Today Im 26 years old.

One week from now my parents will officially reside in Alaska.

One week from now I will be moving out of this way too expensive apartment to live in a friends garage.

So much has changed in the past year, and is continuing to do so. I Hope that every year of my life from here on out is exactly the same.

Every year my birthday seems rife with disappointment. This year was one of few exceptions. A surprise party and a fun night out really hit the spot.

After years of writing in this "journal," I've put a lot of my thoughts in here. The only thing I know for sure is something I knew at the beginning, but obviously hadn't learned it deeply enough: There's no time like the present to change your life.

I don't know where I'll be in ten years, but I know that if I could know, I probably wouldn't want to know.

If anyone wants to get me Birthday present but isn't sure what to get, I've got a project I need help with.

This is my last entry in here. Don't worry, Steve-Ward.net is still up.

So now I'm off to bed. I hope to put all the uncessessary self-punishment of the past 26 years to bed as well. For the past year, and especially five months, I've made some real changes in my like that have meant I've actually experienced something close to happiness.

What has changed?

I don't know. But I do realize now that I don't have to try and figure everything out. There is some virtue in "going with the flow."

So that's what I'm going to try and do.
