Hello again, I am sitting in Cleveland, Ohio on a trip and I'm bored out of my mind so I figured I would come on here and write a little update.
Everything is going well with the family, Jet will turn 3 on Sunday. It seems like just yesterday we were at the hospital when he was born. He is a very smart little boy. We are so proud of him. Last night I got a text from Megan with the following
Jet- momma you know what?
Megan- what jet?
Jet- I gonna be a piwot like daddy when I get big.
Megan- oh yeah
Jet- yeah I gonna fwy planes like daddy!
Megan- I hope so bud
When I read it, it made me feel really good inside knowing that my son thinks I have a really cool job and he wants to do the same when he grows up.
Speaking of work, it's still going good. The flying has slowed down slightly over the past couple of years but I'm not complaining. (Since I get paid salary) i just wish we would get another airplane already. I'm not gonna lie I'm getting a little bored with the King Air. Don't get me wrong it's an awesome airplane, it would just be nice to have a little bit of change.
Lol I almost forgot, so Megan and I went on a cruise about a month ago. We flew my Arrow down to Galveston and got on the ship. It was a 6 night cruise that had stops in Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel. Well at least that was where we were suppose to stop. On the fourth day of the cruise the captain came on the loud speaker and told us that there was a person on board who has been in contact with some lab specimens from the guy that died from Ebola in Dallas. So that morning we were due to arrive in Cozumel and sure enough they wouldn't let us port. So Megan and I were a little disappointed because we wanted to dive there. The worst part was that we weren't sure what was going to happen when we got back to Galveston. We didn't know if we would be quarantined or what. Well it turns out the lady didn't have Ebola after all and we were all aloud to leave the ship on time. We were so glad to get back to Durant after all of that. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of cruises. Of course 7 days is a long time to be away from home too.
Some other big news in life is, I bought my first new car several months back. It is a 2014 C7 Corvette and it's black on black. I really like it. It's kind of crazy how everything happens in life. If you told me 4 or 5 years ago I would be where I am in life I think I would have called you crazy. The Lord has truly blessed us in the past few years. Starting off with Jet, the new job, new house, my first year to break into the 6 digit pay ring, my new car. I thank God every morning on my way to work for all the blessings he has given us. I know without him none of this would have ever happened.
Well that is really all of the new news that I can think of for now. So until next time. See ya
One more thing I forgot about, Jimmies opened up a new store in Madill about 6 months ago. It's doing okay for now but we could definitely use more business. But that's the nature of the beast, you don't become successful all over night.
Speaking of being successful, I saw a video on Facebook the other day about a guy who saw this rich and successful old man and he asked the old man. How did you do it? How did you become so successful in life? The old man said, if you really want to know, meet me at the beach tomorrow morning and I will show you. The guy goes to the beach the next morning and he sees the old man out in the ocean with water up to his knees. The old man tells him, if you want to be successful come out here. The guy does so, and he asked how is this going to make me a successful person? The old man doesn't say anything and instead he continues to walk out into the water until it is up to his chest. He says to the guy if you want to be successful come out here. The man does so again at this point the guy is starting to think, this old man is crazy. The guy ask again, how is this going to make me successful. The old man doesn't say anything but continues to walk out into the water until the water is up to his neck. He tells the guy if he wants to be successful he needs to come out here. The guy goes out to meet the old man. The old man says, Do you really want to be successful in life? The guy says yes, more than anything. The old man says okay and he grabs the guys head and holds him under water. The guy obviously startled, tries to get above water but the old man continues to hold him under. Finally the old man lets the guy up and the guy starts cursing the old man and says what the heck are you doing? The old man said, when you were under water what was the one thing you wanted more than anything? The guy obviously says, to breath. The old man says exactly. When you want to succeed in life you have to want it as bad as you just wanted to breath. You have to want it more than air itself. That's how you succeed in life!
I thought that was pretty interesting, well now I'm really going to get off of here. See ya.
