Well, I was going to add an "I'm not dead yet" entry from the a-o-hell trailer at PIR when i was there for NASCAR a couple weekends ago, but their connection crashed on me and closed my window and lost my typing. Boo. So here it is now.

It's been an eventful 49 days since i last posted. Quick recap time! Beware falling incoherences, i'm a bit out of it today. More on that later.

The beginning of october was, as always, Balloon Fiesta. This year I crewed for a group of pilots from Canada, all of whom spoke French - and, fortunately, English as well, since almost all the French I know I learned from titles of Malice Mizer songs and I think we all know that MM titles are pretty much the french equivalent of Engrish. As I was the most "local" crew member and knew the most about getting around the area, I got to be the chase truck driver / navigator most days. It was great fun. I kinda ended up being the de facto crew chief for Ray's balloon, too, being probably the most experienced member of the crew. *grin* I got pics, of course, and i'll post them, um, soon. Yeah. Really. ^_^;;;

One notable incident: on, um, i think Tuesday, Ray landed the balloon in some guy's field in the vicinity of 2nd Street, where a couple other balloons had also put down. The guy was standing at the gate to greet chase trucks and, well, demand tribute. *lol* "You got any pins? All I ask is a pin, and I'll let you in." We had no pins for the balloon, so I gave him my official balloon fiesta chase crew pin. 'Cause, you know, it's allll about Landowner Relations. ^_^;; Ray was so grateful, he replaced my pin and got me a second, different chase crew pin too. *^_^*

My Kami plushie arrived the friday of balloon fiesta week! **^_____^**<3<3<3 He's so adorable, and soooo soft and cuddly! He came with three different outfits - the merveilles one in the linked pic, au revoir, and cyberland - the outfits I cosplay (or am going to). This week, i made him a comfy kimono-ish robe out of a scrap of hand-painted silk I got from my aunt Julia (the sequins on the other outfits are a bit scratchy to cuddle with when sleeping). If i ever get around to doing Illuminati cosplay as well, i'll make him a matching outfit for that too. ^_^ *cuddles 'im*

I've been scanning many many Yu~ki pics for Tatsie and her shrine-in-progress, Orange Plaid. It's going to be highly spiffy when it's done. ^__^ The latest plushiedoken silliness is a highly amusing convo with butterfly-chan that by now is actually in season *lol*. Von (TMO) even did a hilarious drawing on the oekaki board to go with it. XD~~ And then, well, other wackiness ensued on the oekaki board. *gigglefit*

The Annual New Life Harvest Dinner, Talent Show, and Art Show went very, very well. I coordinated the talent and art show, getting together equipment, putting up displays, setting the concert order, and so on - and i was amazed at how well it all worked out. And - muahahahahaaa - i created the Karaoke Setup of DOOOOOOOOM from my parents' PA system which they never use and my trusty old portable cd player. Doom, I say, 'cause these speakers are freakin' HUGE and along with the heavy-ass amp have serious sound output capabilities. *insert megalomaniacal laugh here* Having warned Katsura, the one Japanese-speaking member of our congregation, what I was going to be singing, I did in fact perform both "Vanilla" (wearing my snakeskin-print Gacktish pants and a slinky black short-sleeved shirt) and "au revoir" (in the corresponding Kami outfit, since my au revoir gackt outfit is pretty lame, if not downright ghetto... I of course felt obligated to explain the outfit, and that i was dressed as the drummer, not the vocalist). I was able to borrow a dress form from Cynthia on which to display the merveilles Kami outfit, and it looked fabulous. I'm still waiting for pics and video from Carole. heehee. ^__^

And now, the first really big bit of news (which, if you've been talking to me on IM, you've already heard): I lost my job at the gallery. Neither Ken nor Al has ever understood the concept of multitasking, and when they'd see me chatting on IM while working, they thought I wasn't getting things done - even though I was. >.< Anyone who's read this diary at all regularly knows just how pissed I tended to get with their stupidity, and it was starting to look like they were going to close the Albuquerque gallery anyway. Quite frankly, I was about ready to give them my notice anyway, but since they fired me, I get to collect unemployment while I search for a new jobby job. Believe me, that helps a hell of a lot. ^_^;;;;

It's been three weeks (I was officially fired on the 29th), so how goes the job search? Well, I have an interview at Hastings tomorrow, and I signed back up with Snelling (which is how I got the job at the gallery in the first place four years ago). I've applied many other places, haven't heard back from most, got formally rejected at one. Right now, I really don't want to do something that requires sitting at a desk all day. Done that for the last 4 years, and it really burns me out. Working at a retail place like Hastings or Borders (again) would be cool, and they'll be really needing people this time of year. I'd also love to be a UPS delivery girl (I could say that the brown uniform was N.p.s N.g.s cosplay!) or FedEx (yay, purple uniform!), or a courier of some sort. People are always happy to see the delivery person - they come bearing gifts! ^_^

It's great to be AWAY from the gallery, away from those morons. The best thing is, most of the people I met through there and worked with are telling Ken and Al that they're idiots for firing me! *eeevil grin*

Thing was, though, I was kinda depressed that I didn't have a job to go to dressed up for Halloween - I'd been very much looking forward to being cute au revoir butterfly Kami for the day at the gallery. So Sokar came down and crashed at my place and he and I got in costume - me as Kami, he as a kind of combination of Yu~ki and Kzi that we named Yu~zi *giggle* - and wandered around town. We went to X-centricities, the corset place that just opened in Old Town (Goddess, that place is COOL - I'd gone in the day before when i went to pick up my schtuff from the gallery, and they had this incredible jacket... I said it was "like something Klaha would wear, only in Kami's colors" and THE GUY KNEW WHO I WAS TALKING ABOUT!!!!!! and I spent about an hour and a half talking to him, most of which time I was wearing a corset and just amazed at how I looked and how comfortable it actually was, and i've decided that as soon as I can afford it I am GOING to get a corset by these people. ahem. ^_^;; ). We wandered around Coronado Mall for a while, me carrying my Kami plushie in his matching outfit. After we picked up Nyx from her work, came home and had dinner (mmm, Amigo's tamales brought by her mom from Deming), we went trick-or-treating around the apartment complex and scored a lot of great candy... which is finally almost gone. *lol* Went to Pulse for the goth night halloween party - the costumes alone were worth the cover charge, uwaaahhhh... *_* Still... nobody recognized who I was. *sigh* Ah, the price of obscure cosplay. There was this one girl, though, who I really should have talked to and asked if she knew who she looked like - she had very MM-Gackt-ish hair and a jacket with a fuzzy collar that was quite remniniscent of his cyberland jacket (though not silver) - the whole ensemble wasn't so much a costume as an outfit, Gackt-ish in the same way that many of my outfits nowadays are Kami-ish. Ahh, I'll never know. ^.^

I finally heard from Cym-nee-chan again! I thought she'd moved to England with Brian on an air force assignment, and she apparently thought I was mad at her or too busy or something... but she finally got hold of me the day before I got fired ^.^;; and we've been hanging out on a regular basis, going around town selling stuff to bookstores and things to make money, mocking porn stores and terrorizing the homies in her t-bird at night, and generally frolicking and having fun. It's great having someone I can talk ecchiness and toys with in person again. XD~~

As mentioned, I went to Phoenix for NASCAR two weekends ago... and I finally got to meet Lauren at this incredibly cool arcade called Golfland! No less than 3 different versions of DDR, plus a whole bunch of other Konami music games. She was soooo much fun to hang out with! She showed me how to play Para Para Paradise ^_____^ and she was just ridiculously fun to watch freestyling - hands are not the only things you can wave over those sensors! We attempted Guitar Freaks (it and the drum game next to it had both ANOTHER WORLD by Gackt and Rocket Dive by hide as songs you could play!) and gleefully got our butts handed to us. *lol* I proceeded to get my ass kicked by the percussion game in standard mode, then discovered that it actually had a lesson mode - in which i did fairly well. After she left, I continued playing with the drum game, and aaaaaaalmost got to the point where I could make it through ANOTHER WORLD in standard mode. ^___^ I'm definitely going back next time I go to phoenix, ooooh yeah. ^__^ And I finally got to trade her cds for the pretty UV magazine and Gackt poster she got for me in Japan when she was there this summer. **^_____^** The Gackt poster is now hanging over my bed, right below my Kami wings. ^_~

We neeeeeeed a Para Para machine here in Albuquerque. *nodnodnod* I am addicted now. I LOVE this game. I gotta get me a Japanese PS2 so I can get the home version. *grin* That, and there's this game... hehehe. And yes, other games too. *grin* Eventually... *sigh* I did, however, talk to Chenoa tonight and confirm the rumours of the existence of a Para Para machine in the mall in Las Cruces - only 3 hours away, as opposed to 7 hours to Golfland in Mesa. You better believe I'm gonna roadtrip down there as soon as I can afford it to play parapara visit her! Mwehehehe... ^___^

Second big news: Elya-chan is now getting laid on a semi-regular basis! w00t! Expect the genkiness level to reach a new high! *giggle* I cannot, however, reveal any more than this. *secretive nod*

And finally... before I crash for the night... the latest news. The hide plushie is hereby banned from all further frolicking outings with Cym-nee-chan, 'cause we've arbitrarily decided it's his fault. As we were pulling into a gas station in her Thunderbird last night, suddenly there was this loud noise and crunching and we found ourselves facing the opposite direction. A fscking COP, who'd been going probably about 45 mph (compared to our 15 mph turning-into-parking-lot speed), REAR-ENDED us, spinning us around, wrecking the T-bird's bumper and blowing out her tires, and giving Cym and me whiplash. Cym had put soooo much love into this car, she'd waited for nearly 6 years before her parents signed the title over to her just the day before. She was absolutely heartbroken over what the stupid-ass cop did to her baby, and I don't blame her. At the scene, I was very much in take-care-of-everyone-else adrenalin-high mode, and barely noticed the twinge in my neck. As I was driving Brian's car to the hospital (he rode with Cym in the ambulance), i finally started feeling the shock, and so made a quick stop at my apartment to get my insurance card and drop off everything of mine but the Kami plushie, who I really needed with me. Then I went to the ER to meet them and get myself checked out as well. Due to the physics of the wreck, nee-chan got the worse end of the whiplash ;_; but she also got through the ER a lot quicker than I did. She was discharged and ready to go by the time my dad showed up to stay with me at about midnight, and I didn't get out of there till about 3 a.m. -_-.zZ Fortunately, neither of us have any more serious injury than whiplash and a little bruising. And hey, I had a really cute X-ray technician. ^_^

So... my neck hurts. -_-;; I'm gonna finally wrap this up - it's now about 12:30 inna morning - take some of the painkillers they prescribed for me, and let those knock me out while I cuddle kami-chan (plushie, of course). Hopefully they won't give me a hangover, 'cause I have an interview at 11 a.m. Yee. ^_^;; Gambarimasu!
