wow, i suck. there is no way i can sum up everything that's happened since the last time i posted, so i won't try. i'll write again this weekend and re-cap the good stuff.
cheers: my sister is coming home!!! for two weeks!! yay!! it's been 2 years since she's been to america, and i'm so excited to see her and hang out with her! i'm hoping we're going to make some kind of road trip to s.f. or something fun like that. she's never seen our house or our cats, and i'm hoping she can stay with us for at least part of the time.
jeers: she's coming home because my mom is having major surgery the day after her birthday. none of us are really concerned that anything is going to happen to her, but it's still kind of freaky. i'm so used to my mom being "the parent" that it's strange to see her so helpless. "god in heaven, i don't like it" (said a la grandma bunny). also, the other sucky thing is that simon can't come with erin. he's stuck at work and can't get away, so she has to make the trip herself. i feel bad for her - trust me, i know all too well how long that trip is by yourself - but i'm more bummed that we don't get to see simon. plus, his birthday is at the end of the month, and erin will be here. poor simon...
