The Grey Havens

ROTK did fantastically at the Oscars, which makes me incredibly happy. I knew when Beautiful Mind won best picture two years ago that, more than likely, they were going to save all the awards and give them to ROTK. I have to say, though, that I find this peculiar. Does this award suggest that ROTK is supposed to serve as all three movies simply since they were made at the same time? Or is the Academy truly saying that ROTK was the best of the three? Or, did they simply say, "Ah, fuck, Seabiscuit? Give it to Peter Jackson!" Whatever the reason, I like the outcome.

With that, I should like to say I've put this off for far too long. It is time for me to go, and I am going. Thank you to all of you who have visited and whom I have met, but I have new books to write and different paths to tread. But do write, if you will. Good bye.

The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate;
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the moon, East of the sun.
