| you know, i bought a cool yellow umbrella in paris for the 100th anniversary of the tour de france (i mean, it was raining, which is why i bought the umbrella, but it was designed for the centennial), and i left it in france because i figured they'd never let me on the plane with it (2003). of course i saw other people who *did* have theirs, so despite a really nasty 4" long *spike* on the end of it, the airlines had no problem with this big honkin' death stake of an umbrella. nor do they with your knitting needles. but a tiny little 2" long pair of fingernail clippers??? THOSE they have trouble with. someone please explain that insanity to me. kd |

| i really doubt you lost your foundation, it's probably just changing. people tend to confuse loss with change. also, if you are really foundationless, look at is an oportunity. think of all the people in the world who are completely bogged down by their current situations that they could never leave their foundation. also, i would advise that you start considering your life purposes as part of your foundation. all three of them that you mentioned are important facets of your personality that play have some affect on every part of your life. they help you define and learn about yourself... and thus are foundational to your existence. you wouldn't be the same without them at all. here's the real key... a true foundation lies in revery. i know i sound like some dumbass psuedo-philosopher, but revery is the key to being grounded. as long as you have dreams and are actively seeking them out the world around you can change abundantly, but you will always have your place to exist... i think i stopped making sense... |
