from nictate :
thanks for the welcome back, jaci. you're so sweet!
from pmattie :
Hello again my little Shoe Monkeys! For those of you who are oldies but goldies and for those of you who are fresh off the press, I am doing my "Ode To Independent Films" again. I noticed that it was only a short year ago that I did it, and back by popular demand, here ya go: Tell me your top 3 favorite indie flicks at the present time." In a week, I'll post the results...Happy hunting!--Pmattie
from nictate :
hi jaci- thanks for your guestbook note. i'm glad i could save you from spending time and dollars on "intolerable cruelty." i hadn't heard about the coens being brought in to fix something hollywood created. that makes me feel better about the whole thing. those are the two movies i like the clooney in, too! both were awesome. bye, nic
from sprhrgrl :
(hug) I'm worrying because the dorm room is beginning to feel more like home than the room in San Diego did. Maybe I'll have to keep it next year. . .
from sprhrgrl :
Whereas my friend Erica (pearl-o, as she's a bloody LJ traitor) just signed in here for the first time in a year yesterday. . . At least you're the good kind of LJ traitor.
from sprhrgrl :
i am not living there, i am just a voyeur.
from horvendile :
A Hoo Rah Ray and Tiger for posting on Diaryland.
from avalonia :
I just saw your Haldir banner *purrs loudly* He's lovely :)
from imaginez :
your fiction is beautiful. i enjoyed every last one of them.
from piepixie :
Sorry, that last one was me.
from diaryreviews :
Your banners make me drool. Orli, boys in makeup, Lij, kitty hair, mmmmmm.
from dombilly :
love the banner.
from sprhrgrl :
We love you and we've missed you a lot.
from horvendile :
First off, *Hugs* Secondly, WB to diaryland, where all the cook kids hang out. Thirdly, The Silmarillion will help.
from hippiesoul :
I totlaly agree with you on Maus. I mena, I had a pretty lax english teacher, but she always tried to make sure the material we read was purposeful. SO when she ahnded us a graphic novel I was like, " A comic book? wtf?" But it was so much better than any other Holocaust book I'd ever been exposed to. (A lot) I could connect...it was so weird. Anways, you have a great diary, keep up the good work!
from goth-angel :
whoa! I like to click on people's banners... And when I clicked on your "My fandom will live on.." one, I nearly fell out of my seat! Billy and Lij! AND RPS BILLY/DOM! ...and you're on livejournal. Wow. You're a real find. ^_^ Oh, hi!
from sallish24 :
Hey, what's that font used in your image? It's gorgeous. I love the LOTR love. :)
from jenaia :
i don't know how i missed this before... the link just never made it my way until now. and now i'm subjecting everyone at work to it... mwahaha ;)because you know, i'm evil... 64% Evil to be exact ;)
from sprhrgrl :
(laugh) It's funny because talking about Bend It Like Beckham and neat indie films reminded me of you. I was actually debating that Coffee Messiah site agains another one, but I picked that one because, although the other one had more info, the other site persisted in spelling caffeine "caffiene." Even the page name. Ugh.
from frulie :
I'm sorry about the FIVE! I saw it after! *hugs* please love me? I'm ever so cute! :D ~J~
from polynomial :
Say, word. Looks like I'm the first one here. Well, I don't know about you - but right now it's pretty late. For some reason, I can't sleep. I was just browsing the list of regularly updated diaries, and came across yours. I'm new to this diaryland community, and would love it if you'd stop by. Check me out when you get a chance. Adios.
from notajazzsnob :
I'm glad you're here, too.
from ciaramyst :
:)
from beight :
thanks for the words of encouragement :D it went really well although im still on edge. didnt help that kitty decided to be sick and puke on me last night when i was trying to go to bed early :( but it rocks so far. im excited.
from notajazzsnob :
".72"?? Hey, is that a short joke?? *giggle*
from notajazzsnob :
*hugs* Are you coming up for New Years?
from darkarachnia :
i saw that ewan short about a year ago at my friend aaron's house. i laughed my ass off. hee hee. love it!
from athena98122 :
silentswirl - you are a mystery with your password and your lack of a notes feature ;) so in case you ever check back here, i was delighted to get a note from a bbshop groupie who i didn't already know *smile*
from silentswirl :
Hello! I found your journal in the "revently updated diaries" section. Just have to give a huge wave to you after seeing that you listed SPEBSQSA in your music faves. My grandfather sings with the Salem Senataires and I'm all about being a barbershop groupie. Made me smile... thanks. If you don't mind, I'll be reading some of your archives. Have a good weekend!
from darkarachnia :
rock! about the talented mister ripley...it was a yummy ending. thing is, i have never seen the whole movie. i missed the first 15min!!! ROCK! about the garage adding the bowling alley. the bois can shoot pimp stick and we can bowl...then everyone wins!!! (besides, i find bowling more exciting than pool...but that's just me.) guess this means that when it is time to move out you will have to live on the hill. ;) (miss you...my music collection and cattiness at work just isn't the same.)
from lilacgirl :
ugh. jaaaaaa-ccccccoooooo.... i cannot get into her. ive read both "cowboys are my weakness" and "waltzing the cat" and while i think she's a really good writer i have to slog through them. im doing it because it's good for me, not because i want to. any ideas on how to make them better?
from horvendile :
Am I going to have to come out there and thwap you? Your friends do not think you are an inconvenience! The only think inconvenient about you is that you live too far away.
from mocksie :
He said: "I havent spent nearly as much time with her as Id like to." I say: me too.
from jenaia :
well, i wanted to rent Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys this weekend, but it was all out... so we rented Kissing Jessica Stein instead. :D
from notajazzsnob :
Shit. That really sucks about your house. *HUGS*
from mocksie :
Yay Everyone Says I Love You!
from goovie :
word. i can't wait to read it.
from goovie :
bring it on, baby. :)
from goovie :
ooh, so the book's worth it? rock on. *adds it to the ever-growing list*
from goovie :
hey, nothing wrong with the blair witch project. it gave burkittsville its 15 minutes of fame and kept frederick county interesting for an entire summer. :)
from mocksie :
I've been waiting for this weekend for a long, long time-- Just so I can stand in line to see "Jackass". Terrible, I know, but a guilty pleasure. :) Love that quote from punch drunk love- I need to go see that one, too.
from goovie :
no way, man. james spader has been mine since stargate. yum.
from oggydoggy :

from frulie :
I love The Player... or maybe I just love Tim Robins?? heh! ~J~
from pmattie :
Starting tomorrow (10/10/02) I am going to compile a list of the fellow indieflicks memebers' favorite indie flicks. I am taking suggestions for best indie flick ever and also for anyone that listens to indie rock, which bands they think rock the casbah! Let me know what you think and I will put your suggestions on my diary. I will stop collecting suggestions in a week (10/17/02) and then on the 18th, I will make the lists. Happy hunting!!!
from goovie :
bwah!! my buddy christ reenacts "the gift" from my monitor every day, too! and how scary is it that i knew *exactly* what you meant? :)
from lilacgirl :
ooh jaci, would you like me to make you a mike errico tape? or a cd.... just let me know. *hearts mike errico* oh, he does have sound clips on his site. www.errico.com for when you get your new computer.
from goovie :
i'm so glad you enjoyed the carbon leaf show. and katherine patterson? i gasped over here and i won't even be able to see it. and i *need* to see secretary. mmmm...james spader.
from oggydoggy :
Good luck - not that you'll need it *hugs*
from horvendile :
I hate pressure. I quote the line about a spider the size of a buick all the time but for a second I couldn't remember where it was from. I do now and I won't give it away.
from mocksie :
Glad to see you're updating here with some frequency again. :) I love seeing your name in red. *hugs* -shan
from horvendile :
I have to see <b> Kissing Jessica Stein. </b> I'm glad you liked the music one of my favorite bands <a href ="http://davestruestory.com target = "new"> wrote several of the songs including the one played during the pivotal kiss. When Dave Cantor, who writes the songs, saw the film for the first time and saw that they played it when tow women were kissing, he said: "Yes I can die now!" In a strange bit of marketing, they left DTS's songs off the sound track album. So go out and buy their first CD, which they reissued after the film was released.
from horvendile :
You are not forgotten when you aren't around. You wouldn't believe how often you come up in conversation. Have I mentioned that I love you recently?
from carlilly :
hey, saw your little diary ad, loved the tmbg reference. i've got a fang... xoxocarlilly
from fiimma :
*shrug* I read your whole entry on reading. No big deal... although the only one of those books I've heard of is The Poisionwood Bible (and Anne.Duh.) I guess it's that your entry was not about the books, it really was about -reading-. It's one of my favorite pasttimes. :) And yeah, my dad won't read a book twice. Or see a movie twice, for that matter. But that's because he's so smart, he just remembers everything. oy.
from twitchminion :
your banner...They Might Be Giants...it all makes sense.
from goovie :
oh, and i knew marc blucas was in pleasantville, so i was waiting for him to show up. i *didn't* expect to see danny strong and all his eye makeup hiding behind the jukebox. gordon and i have decided that it's against the law for a buffy cast member to be in a movie without at least one other buffy cast member. amen.
from goovie :
baaaahahaha! i just clicked on your banner ad! way, way too cute!
from horvendile :
You have the same problem as <a href="http://christinelavin.com" target = new> Christine Lavin </a> She has a song <i> Please Don't Make Me Too Happy </i> about how she can't write when she's happy. <font face="wingdings">J</font>
from goovie :
jaci!! the first one to join my dvn ring!! you rule, my dear.
from lilacgirl :
lol!!! i nearly peed my pants when i heard the story about the naked man/emu story. how do you get those 2 things confused? how? =) lol. betsy
from glitterfaery :
oh quicherbitchin about the heat. :) We're dying here on the east coast -- 99 and hoooomid. I can't wait to get to your side of the continent, even if I *will* be a thousand miles south of you.
from marn :
I was really amazed by how much that book got to me. It's in my top ten now for sure. That will teach me to listen to my friends when they rave about books, eh?
from goovie :
*jealousjealousjealous* you are one lucky chickadee.
from goovie :
ok. spike, angel...who am i missing? now this is gonna bug me for the rest of the day.
from frulie :
I'm sorry, but you ARE the "Cat Lady" heh! "mind the hair balls!" LOL ~J~
from msophelia :

from goovie :

from lilacgirl :
i LOVED men with brooms. i was in canada over spring break and we went to see it twice. it was also the week of the nokia brier finals so we got to see the movie and watch it on tv all week. i miss watching curling on tv. *sigh*
from goovie :
ummmmm...i care. i'm gonna miss you.
from glitterfaery :
i care that you won't be at FRFF. *sniffles* but I understand. it gets more complicated (not to mention spensive) when you have to cross time zones. i'll miss you, though.
from frulie :
*hugs* thanks for the congradumacations! you're a sweet sweet friend! I love ya lots! ~J~
from horvendile :
The Cabinet of Dr Caligari and a theremon? I'm totally jealous!
from lilacgirl :
hey... thanks for the props. =) and thanks for reminding me that i need to add all the url's back. i can tell you this though, it's very very cathartic, if you ever feel you can do it, i highly suggest it.
from goovie :
yaaaaay! congratulations!
from goovie :
Will and Tara are a team on The Amazing Race, which I only know cos I saw a bunch of ads for it the other day, and I kept thinking, "Willow and Tara! Yay!" And that was my favorite quote from the "Seeing Red" recap, too. I almost included it in my update yesterday. Mmmmdannystrong. Too bad I'm not an Amazon. :P
from marn :
Thanks for the sweet note. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't remember her dreams. I've always felt a bit odd about that since everyone else on D'land seems to, eh.
from fiimma :
OoO Shadowlands makes me cry every time I see it... I -adore- that flick :)
from pmattie :
Thanks for joining the diaryring, "indieflicks." So what are some of your favorite independent films? If you have any good suggestions, just let me know what kinda movies you like and maybe I could suggest some too. Thanks again.
from mocksie :
love love love it! :)
from oggydoggy :
the new layout looks AWESOME!
from athenex :
don't you ever say sorry for what you are or what you feel!! I've just read your diary, and i'm talking about your last entry. + i'm sure you're loved. everybody is loved, 'cause every living humanbeing on this fucked up planet is loved, even the fucked up murderers, even bin laden, even me. And belive me, i'm not worth it all the time. But, hey; just wanted you to feel better!
from sprhrgrl :
(hug) We love you we love you we love you. It's kind of lame considering that most of us don't know you, but we love you nonetheless.
from glitterfaery :
Whatever's hurting so much, you don't have to explain it. Especially if the words won't come. Writing here is a release, not an assignment. I don't have to know the ins and outs of the trouble. I just know I want to give you a big hug, and wish you some solace. -- Lori
from goovie :
bah. i care. but i also understand what it's like when the words won't come and you can't write anymore, at least not here. i'll miss you while you're gone. hope you come back soon.
from oggydoggy :
You got in! Yay! Woohoo! Way to go! *high fives and that attitude thing that I'm no good at* HUGS
from sprhrgrl :
I made my friend Erica start this ring for a reason. You should join. http://members.diaryland.com/edit/rings.phtml?ring="alancumming"
from goovie :

from veronikaber :

from adwhore :

from kuinileti :
i thought your words on "the incident" were insightful and powerful. you're great.
from sabine05 :
I just wanted to drop you a line to say hi and that I came by. I had nothing specific to say other than I enjoyed reading your diary.
from benderl :
Yay! Jaci rocks. I'm boring, I know.
from susiemay :
I think diaryland is kinda cool! Just stopped by to say Hi!
from narcissa :
i have no idea why i didn't follow your analyzer link sooner... i wish i had - good writing, interesting thoughts. i like it. i'll be back.
from lilacgirl :
Hihi Jaco! I was just in the neighborhood.
from Horvendile :
Ackk.I never signed your analyzer. Shame on me. Of course I have no idea what to say now. Jaci has quoted most of the good things I've said about her on my diary :-) I think what I said the other day says it best. Jaci is a person worth knowing.
from goovie :
Eep, I never resigned your analyzer after the Great Comment Deletion of '00. *hugs* to my fellow English major/batnose/Rhoda. You and your diary rock! :)
from beight :
