Hi CI. I just randomly popped by after all these years. I am so sorry that your husband passed. I had read your previous post as well. Although it has been many years since we came in here regularly, I have thought about you and other diaryland friends over these years. I remember when you wrote about enjoying gardening and about making albondigas and other little things and about your own physical pains along the way. Know that I remember you and wish you the best and still remember the name you went by when we exchanged an email or two years ago and it’s a lifetime ago. Life has changed dramatically for me as well over the years as one would expect, but certainly in unexpected surprising ways - life is always interesting . All the best to you, <3
from emeraldtiger :
And PS: Best wishes, and stay in touch/hope to re-connect with you. Hang in there, and glad to read your post.
from emeraldtiger :
Wow, Cruel-Irony! I very randomly popped by here for the first time in maybe a year or more even though this place is so 2003! I miss that time and place and many DL moved to other blogs or offline. Some I have connected with on FB, others I follow albeit sporadically and loosely on Instagram. One I have saw face to face again a couple of years ago. I was happy to read your update as well as sorry to read about your husband's health. I have wondered about you over the years and hoped you were well. Big changes for me, as I did a big move in 2014, took on a leadership job, but then did another move West about a year ago, which was absolutely the right move personally but not without career sacrifice and risk, as it was prompted by a need to help with caregiving. I've been in a high level role career wise but caregiving is probably the most challenging and important job I've had to date, even if it's an unpaid one, that comes from the heart and loyalty and necessity. I miss your writing, but hope you still are into gardening and that you yourself are well nowadays.
from emeraldtiger :
Glad you had such a great year in 2012. All the best to you in 2013. And thanks for the note. I have thought about you, too, over the past (10?!) years. I'm glad you are doing well. Best wishes, and I hope we can stay in touch, even if loosely like this...I don't really blog much anymore here (or anywhere for that matter), but it's been interesting to come here and occasionally find blasts from the past when my buddy list has a name lit up. A few d-land people have found their way to me via social networking, others started new blogs elsewhere and I still drop in occasionally to read. And others I have no idea about now, but think about from time to time and that makes me smile. Anyway, I hope you and I both have a fantastic 2013. Cheers!
from dangerspouse :
Thank you very much for your caring note. You are very, very sweet :)
from emeraldtiger :
Personality disorders are serious business. In the job I had prior to going back to get my Ph.D. some of my clients had personality disorders. That was not the focus of my work with them, however their cognitive distortions certainly had an impact on every aspect of their lives and relationships, as far as I could tell. A colleague/friend revealed to me last year that her mother has Borderline Personality Disorder, and in her case, her grandparents raised her. Though her mother is still living (elderly) but in another state, they have no contact, and it sounds like her mother never actually was able to be a mother to her (other than biologically). I think her sibling(s) do have contact and help care for her now that she is aging, but this colleague/friend has gone the route of no contact. It sounded like her view was that it was to preserve her sanity and self.
from emeraldtiger :
wow! i just happened to stop back by here and low and behold, an update from you. i love d-land blasts from the past. how much has changed for you in 10 years. hard to believe it was 10 yrs ago that i stumbled upon to this place and your diary, and i remember all of the losses you experienced right around then. i'm glad you're doing so well today and hope life continues to be good to you. (and now i've made a note to myself: check back here more often and throw in an update while at it, even if once in a while).

you have been issued a new password. miss you & hope you're well these days. xo,
from emeraldtiger :
what a great volunteer program. what a good way to combine your long-standing interests/talents in history & gardening. it's even better that a friend is participating with you. cool!
from ladybugge :
It's delightful to hear from you again. What you are doing with the honor farm sounds wonderful, something I would love to do if my life were vastly different from what it is. Hope to hear from you again, soon. Lb
from akatzen :
Hey, I'm not active on here anymore... But I wanted to send you Birthday wishes anyway... So happy birthday!
from forty-plus :
I'm sorry, I thought I left a comment for you the other day saying it was good to hear from you, but it's not there. So...it's good to hear from you and I think this project is a wonderful and respectful one.
from forty-plus :
Merry Christmas!

*Happy Holidays*
from haloaskew :
Thanks! Hope you had a great T-day! I just realized I haven't been getting my D-land "you have a note" emails in the last couple days, so I hadn't bothered to check my notes all weekend. Fucking AOL!! Anyhoo, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
from annanotbob :
The thing is, if you prune off the dead bit, even stronger new growth will quickly appear. This may need building up to, but will be worth it. Hugs xx
from hibiscus101 :
**HAPPY HALLOWEEN**
from chauffi :
perhaps I'll join a support group, so I can get the hugs you feel I need. Although that's a little too much Meatloaf in Fight Club for me. However, I will work something out the next time I'm feeling low, so that my hug quotient is met.
from violetpoppy :
Thanks for the nice note, I appreciate it! Have a great day, and I hope your toe feels better!
from haloaskew :
Heeey boo boo! :)
from puter-chique :
hey, thanks for leaving a note about a poem. i always forget to check my notes, it was so nice to find one. :)

Hello...remember me?? LOL
from giallothang :
You really are the greatest. Thanks so much for your support. As much as I appreciate [need] it now, I can't wait until this is over or something! Hugs and other such snuggly things.
from giallothang :
oh you're so sweet. I can only say that I'm flattered that you would feel special being noted on my page. It never ceases to surprise me that in my naked expression of my many flaws that anyone would remotely respect me ;)
from tater-fay :
I just read your "100 things about me"...Some of those facts are REALLY interesting. Esp. about your one grandmother who was the 14th child of Irish immigrants...what a freaky story..
from giallothang :
SO Sorry I didn't get back to you the other night. I ended up not getting to my hotel until 2am after some random crap, then my father fell ill overnight and your # got swept out of my incoming calls before I thought to save it. Please do give me a call when you are free!
from giallothang :
Ok, I sent another try.
from giallothang :
I sent you an email the other day and realize now I should probably have told you about it to prevent it from being lost in junk mail. Let me know if you didn't get it. Take care!
from giallothang :
If I remind you of yourself at all I'd have to say that I'm flattered. (Unless I remind you of bad stuff!) I appreciate your continued commentary. If you're on AIM or want to trade phone #s I think we'd have some very nice chats. Take care
from haloaskew :
Thanks for the nice note! :)
from obsidianfrog :
Thank you for such an amazing comment about me on your profile. It meant a lot. Its so great to be able to get to know people so well, by reading about them, even though we've never met. So thanks for letting me "get to know" you. :)
from giallothang :
I can't say that I've found the right location for shame. I suppose it is clear I only know how to cling to it. Perhaps this proverbial birthmark on my life will be the one I solve and all the others will follow in some Hollywood kind of ending and I can write a book and get rich off it. Either that or I'll keep up with the wino routine and obsess over an anonymous page on the internet. Yeah, probably the latter. Thanks for the note, it's comforting to hear from you. Take care.
from satellitebob :
yea! i'll do it. and it will help me get the ball that is today rolling. cold medicine makes me not want to work.
from orinna :
Thanx for your note. Its nice to know that someone reads my reflections, though I cant figure out why this matters, since the point (for me) is writing.
from tater-fay :
The Italian Sausage and Navy Bean soup did turn out yummy...I forgot that I added a can of beef broth, though and then I put some salt in it and it's a little salty for my taste...(I never salt anything, usually) but it'll be even more yummy today..as most soups are better after a day or two of sitting in their own juices/spices!
from haloaskew :
I know! You don't want to be an ass by not being a "team player" {shudder} but then you wind up an ASS WIPE. What gives, man?
from inkedgal :

One would think I was the only one to think of this bowling ball stuff, but here is a place with all sorts of bowling ball art: http://www.msnusers.com/gardenjunk/bowlingballsaddictsunite.msnw I tried to find a picture of the bowling ball lawn catepillar, but can't find it right now.
from forty-plus :
Thank you for adding me!
from whovillian :
Thank you...oddly enough it wasn't as hard as I used to remember weight loss being..which is a good thing I guess considering that is only the tip of the iceberg that I want to lose!
from atomicbuddha :
You and me both sistah!! Thanks!! By the way, SO glad you are back. I hope you can get some rest on "vacation".

hi. this used to be puter-chique. but i'm back as jazzntea. just thought i'd let ya know, since you still list me as a fave, despite my lack of entries as puter-chique. :)
from aquira :
Yeah, it sure IS good to be back.. Not only can I now write a diary and not worry about it turning up in my neighbours garden, but I can also do a whole year's worth of catching up on you and UncleBob. Howling out loud 24/7. Thanks for that. Paper diaries, sheesh.. Mine fell off the kitchen sink, through an open window, and was found by my neighbour. She is somewhat afraid of me now. I wonder wether she read the bit about the near-fatal superglue overdose of my cat. Or the bit about me trying to dig up my dead parrakeet from the block's trashcontainer, because I thought I heard it chirp. Or both. Being online rules.
from emeraldtiger :
ooh, another link is www.erowid.org (do a keyword of ecstasy there. and finally, go to http://scribbles.funrx.com. if you scroll down to 9/29/03 there's a link to that dateline special on strike and the hive. i assume you can actually watch the video segment by clicking on it although you'll need broadband in order to do so. (i didn't even try, since i'm not on dsl/cable).
from tater-fay :
Thanks for the compliments. I'll be reading you daily as well..I think I've read you before..or at least I'm familiar with you..but where? atomicBuddha? Halo-Askew? I can't remember..I've seen your name, though!!
from dangerspouse :
That's for letting me know what a "Simon" is. Sheesh, I'm SO out of the cultural loop. Not watching TV makes me a better person, sure, but it's a lot tougher holding conversations at work than you'd think. This was a perfect example. Y'know, I have several of those Chinese spoons, and they just don't do it for me. What's with the flat bottoms? That always throws my balance off. Soup spoons should be rounded. Do their slanty eyes SEE them as rounded, and just don't realize they're making a culinary fuck-up? Who knows. I'll stick to my shovel. (BTW, kudos for getting the smelly forehead dot! The last time I was in church was because this kinky girl I was dating wanted to do it on an alter. We broke in to our local RC sanctuary at 1 am (wasn't hard since they never lock the doors) and fulfilled her fantasy. She called it her "Second Coming" for years afterwards. Gotta love the nutty ones!) Thanks for the great note at my humble sanctuary of good taste, again!
from himfan :
hello my name is katie, i am here to do my part in making my surroundings to be a better place. i was wondering if you could check into the boycotting gap issue. i find you as very bright person and hopefully you agree with the issue of keeping redwood forests alive, and stopping these compainies from running sweatshops. i know this issue is touchy, and i am not exactly aquanted with you... but adding one of these sites to your link site, would help a lot of people open their eyes to these problems. thank you. kt

Thank you so much for such a sweet message. I woke up, checked my email, and low and behold, CI had come a-callin'. You made my day! As always, keep up the wonderful and clever writing. -Dani
from starlight42 :
Congrats on becoming a great aunt! your entry about your conversation with your boss made me laugh.
from razor-vixen :
Hey there! Susan's comment about "poor me" did irritate me also. But I also kind of agreed with her. I know I shouldn't. But if you've been reading me, one of the things that upsets me most is how I'm SO single. I know I shouldn't be upset about it, and I'm definately better off than I was in my last relationship, but sometimes I just want someone to be there, you know? Anyhow, hope you have an awesome new years.
from atomicbuddha :
Hey CI, I have a little something for you...a gift...if you still have my email and are so inclined to receive said gift, can I find out where to send it since I only have your old address? (if you are comfortable giving it to me of course). Thanks!!
from leebozeebo :
Thanks, but I'm already pretty frugal most of the time, so I'm fairly confident that I can make ends meet. Also, your arsenal keeps getting bigger and bigger, but no matter how many weapons you pile on yourself, you'll always be my widdle huggle-bug, you precious arch-nemesis, you.
from atomicbuddha :
That stick joke? The best!! It made my Christmas Eve!! Happy Holidays to you, even though it's December.
from happydiary :
Thank you for your kind note! I hope you have an amazing Christmas. Maybe Santa will bring you a wood-burning fireplace and amazing beachfront properly with a studly neighbor to give you that massage! -Dani
from atomicbuddha :
You are so right.
from bluering :
I forgot the part where I'm supposed to gain 30 more pounds. Doctors annoy me. And taking away salt? Just wrong. I can deal with the rest of it. (Thanks for the note)
from faux-pas :
COOL! I never would have guessed either. Best o' luck to you!
from lagrimitas :
hehe too funny! I would have probably laughed about it for days!
from satellitebob :
YEAAAAA! Homoeroticism AND incest! I am truely messed in the head for being compared to this guy. and he had a toy turtle as a kid. But they took it away.
from happydiary :
Your note reminded me of the Mary Tyler Moore show. How the boss is like, "you've got spunk!". Thanks. It's great to know that you're happy with your appearance. I completely envy that. Thanks for the note. -dani
from reallyme566 :
thank you for all of your kind notes. it is nice to know that someone is reading and understands.
from haloaskew :
How are you coming on the eyebrow lifting lessons? C'mon woman! You can do it!
from mare-ingenii :
Thank you, darlin'...
from happydiary :
Thank you for leaving such a kind note. I can't believe the wonderfully talented Cruel-Irony reads my diary!!! WOW, I'm starstruck! Thanks again and good luck with such a difficult time.
from lagrimitas :
Will keep you in my prayers! Sending tons of warm vibes your way =)
from atomicbuddha :
CI, I did a mini-meditation just for you, just now after reading about your potential job. Good luck!!
from haloaskew :
Here's what you do: Hold one eyebrow down with your finger and move the other eyebrow up, over and over (builds muscle strength). Do this in front of the mirror a few times a day. Within a few weeks, you'll have it! I used to be able to do both independently, but I mostly focused on my left eyebrow, hence I only can do one now. It's such a sassy, devious look. One of the best things I ever learned! heh...

I don't know how we missed each other like that. Never fear, though. I've already got my songs picked out for next year's karaeoke-fest!
from atomicbuddha :
Some how, some way I missed your entry about your notice of your upcoming notice!! Damn!! Sorry to hear that. I'm sure with all your connections you will find something quickly though. I will keep you in my thoughts and meditations.

Thanks. :)
from atomicbuddha :
Awww Iggy in sweater...nothing could be finer!! I hope your month gets better...and hope you are feeling better. We'll miss you while you aren't updating!!

Thanks for the notes and I'm sorry you're feeling crappy. I hope you feel better soon. I'd wrap Dr. Tina up and send her to you if I could, she would SOOOO help you. You'll be in my meditation!!
from rokazu :
I'm glad you enjoyed my ramblings. I'm almost afraid to go back and look at what I've put down, so maybe I won't. And I had no idea that it was possible to have an archnemesis.
from atomicbuddha :
So jealous of the Journalcon thing!! SIGH. Plus getting to room with Trancjen...you are going to have so much fun, wish I could be there. Have a blast and may the spasms and brainfog and pain all leave you the hell alone while you're there..and well, forever!!
from kate-nz :
Oh wow, that journalcon would be so cool to go to! Can I room with you and Jen? You're not meeting online friends at all, nah, nothing like that! Well, think of me as your virtual roommate, i'll be with you in spirit!

I'm most impressed that you still get carded, but I'm trying to imagine the reaction you get when they see that you're SEVENTEEN YEARS over the legal drinking age! It must be priceless when they see you weren't actually born in the 1980s.
from faux-pas :
oy. I can't get into my hotmail email to email you... um? Also, it seems I have no graphics on my journal hmmm. Could it be that windows virus is eating my internet world? eeek! Oh well, luckily I have a mac ;0). Anyway, shall try emailing you using my school acct.
from jason75 :

from deeranged :
Well it's a good thing you got the cable company straightened out, I was gonna suggest that you mentioned to them that you had Sicilian cousins in New York, who also had connections in Vegas and elsewhere across the country and you'd be advising these cable folks to watch their backs.
from lagrimitas :
hehe, simply fascinating you are! I hope things in your world do settle and turn out well. sending well wishes and warm vibes...=)
from bettyalready :
Cool! But not cool. The hardest part I'm having with it at this moment is the saying "But you look ok?" and I practically have to scream "BUT IT'S NOT FUCKING OKAY, OK?"
from whovillian :
thx for the note sweetie. All I can say is what my dear ol'moms never told me...what doesn't kill you would make you stronger...lol...
from darkfairy13 :
Good idea to get new glasses, really good idea ^^
from deeranged :
Ah, bifocals, I'm on my second set, got the first ones when I was 40, knew I was needing them by then because I had been needing a lot more light to see and lifting my glasses to see small print for a couple of years. I got the no lines too, don't wanta look like an old lady either. Just one word of warning though, it took me about 3 months to really get used to the darn things. Some days I just wanted to take them off my face and fling them. But once you get used to them, you won't want to do without them. And yay for hip and trendy, why shouldn't we also be able to be hip and happening like the younger folks. Oh, that sounded old didn't it? Guess I could be part of your posse then.
from darkfairy13 :
Thnkas :D Yeah that little girl or boy, we really don't know (stupid owner should just pay to find out) she tries to preen your hair when you clean her cage, I distract her with my many many bracelets :).

Hi CI, thanks for the note. Yeah, damned internet stalkers... but I think I'm not the only one this boob is stalking, even so, I'm creeped. Also, I don't have time to journal right now (or so I tell myself), but I do have time to read them ;0), so I am around and still wasting too much time on the net. Take care.

Congrats on the move. The Dreamspacehotel sounds so RAD and NEAT-oh....so much so that it is way cool. Really though, it does sound very cool and I am SOOO jealous of your commute. Mine went up to 25 minutes of driving when we moved!! Damn. I've always been torn between wanting to move back to the country and wanting to live in a loft in a downtown of some cool city.
from mojo1915 :
Hello. Have a great day! :) ~Jesse
from lagrimitas :
Good Luck CI and hope the unpacking does go smoothly =) Seems from here that you are going to be happy in your dreamspace.
from whovillian :
Thanks for the note. I was reading about your move too...urgh hate doing it but I'm glad both of our moves are positive...once we are there...;)
from deeranged :
You don't need luck, you'll be fine, you've got it all together.
from atomicbuddha :
I don't have TV either! I can empathize. We decided we would not get cable until we finished some house projects this summer. I get ABC, very fuzzily, that is it. I never realized how much I depend on TV to keep me company or for background noise.
from lagrimitas :
hehe see I am not the only CI fan, its just I don't know, very refreshing to read your diary. Thank you bunches for the well wishes they are very very much appreciated *hugz*
from cuillin :
i love your 'novels'! I just wanted to write and let you know I'm thinking of your sweet self and hoping everything's going great with you...much love! xoxo
from atomicbuddha :
Thinking of you and hoping you're feeling better, in every realm!!
from deeranged :
Your rake?, thank goodness you aren't a man, or you would surely lament about giving away your "Hoe".
from lagrimitas :
LoL ME TOOOOOOOO! My family and friends make fun of me for being such a office supply freak! I try to avoid shopping there for the sake of my wallet, nice to see I am not alone hehe
from deeranged :
In answer to the pseudo-quiz, I think that the girl should stay home with her roommate, I just think that's the right thing to do. She would only think about her friend during the date anyway, so why bother. The date should be postponed till later, and if the guy doesn't understand, well, he wasn't worth it anyway.
from haloaskew :
Awww...well wishes are better than cupcakes any day! Thanks!
from darkfairy13 :
Alarm heh heh
from lagrimitas :
omgoshie you have me in tears here! that is so sad, so sorry you had to part with your birds. I know it can be very very difficult to just give away ones pets. I am glad that you can at least check on them though, that should bring you some comfort. See they were lucky and found a home, you don't have to drive yourself crazy wondering if they did or they will be put to sleep. Big hugz your way =)
from coffeegrrrl :
Hi! I don't know why i didn't respond to the note you left in my guest book about a month ago. I just read your entry about moving...and i'm insanely jealous!!! I, too, have moved quite a bit because i had to. And i miss moving. I always get that urge. And, I've always wanted to live in a hotel like that. I had a friend who lived in a hotel for about 3 yrs., kind of like the one you're moving into. Probably seedier however. And i have thought about moving in there myself but haven't...have to share the bathroom with yucky tenants. At any rate, the whole purpose in this note/novella is to tell you i'm insanely JEALOUS of your upcoming move! HAVE FUN!
from haloaskew :
Thank you so much for your note about Izzy. I miss him dearly, but I'm glad to know he's not suffering anymore. He's probably running around in a field somewhere, playfully chasing bunnies! :)
from atomicbuddha :
Thank you for your wishes of wellness...right back at ya!! I really hope your vision issues right themselves. We are both just the picture of fine health are we not? I guess we need to learn to take it easy.
from lagrimitas :
hope your feeling better soon well wishes being sent your way *hugz*
from atomicbuddha :
Thanks for the good wishes, we sure do need them right about now. I'll have to take a picture of that fence when it's up, it's going to be fabulous I think...
from lovinglav :
Hi... wish I could give you a hug but I find those cyber (((hugs))) a bit wacked. I lost my dad 6 years ago and it still is hard. If you wanna talk I am here. Keep writing, keep reading. *alana*
from puter-chique :
thanks. i know that, most of the time. but when i forget, i vent it in the diary. i forget people read it... but thanks.
from dizboy :
How about "husband pro tempore"?
from lovinglav :
Thanks for reading...
from puter-chique :
heh. funny (or maybe kinda pathetic), i was so impressed with myself for knowing all the farm terminology, especially since i didn't grow up on a farm or anything (I'm just really into James Herriots stories about his life as a large animal vet in the country). with finals just around the corner, i feel i know so little these days, it was such an ego boost to say "I know what that means, and what that means, and what that means..." So, thank you. :D
from atomicbuddha :
I hope you are feeling better...I was thinking about you yesterday...sending healing blue thoughts... Also, I'm glad to hear my house talk isn't boring the pants off at least one person. Sometimes I bore myself silly with the same old crap.
from haloaskew :
I know! It's absolutely insane the hoops they make you jump through!
from lagrimitas :
ty and hope you start to feel better soon *ducks down and crawls away* =p
from lagrimitas :
LOL that was hilarious! I can just imagine. I use to love to pour salt on the snails when I was a kid I haven't seen one in awhile =( I almost wish there was one around to see it wither away with the salt lol
from darkfairy13 :
Thanx :-) I bombed the second part of the test, and i have really been trying to put a chobits pic on the layoiut but I don't know how (computer illiterate underlined)
from haloaskew :
Heh...thanks! I knew the Charles Ingalls thing would be best appreciated by die hard fans of LH. Have you noticed now that you're older that you tend to get more into the adult story lines than the kid stuff? When I was a kid, I don't ever recall thinking "Why doesn't Caroline jump on that fine piece of man meat lying beside her?" All I cared about was Laura getting away with all her high jinks and Pa understanding why she had to belt Nellie in the face.
from lagrimitas :
You will be missed but wishing you have a splendid time! =)
from atomicbuddha :
Have a great vacation!!! WE'll miss you!
from atomicbuddha :
Thanks! Remembering to breathe...remembering...
from haloaskew :
All those years of college and paying off my loans and I can't spell the word "scholarship" correctly. LOL!
from haloaskew :
Thanks for the congrats! I had a few grants and a small scholorship, did work/study and my parents made partial payments during my years in college, and yet it still took me 10 years to pay off the rest. I can't believe you have 27 years left on your law school loan! CRIPES!! It's almost like having a second mortgage!
from haloaskew :
I dated a guy after college who looked just like Vincent DOnofrio (the way he looked in the movie Mystic Pizza with Julia Roberts). This guy told me he was 21, but I found out later he was a senior in high school. Cripes!
from jason75 :
guestbook rejected me! glad you are so happy
from atomicbuddha :
Willow the White thanks you for the lovely comment on her cuteness and wants me to tell you there are many more openings for people who want to be her bitch...er...just in case you're interested.
from atomicbuddha :
I feel EXACTLY the same way about Bridal Showers and baby showers for that matter. I am SO with you! Gah...sickening. One of my dearest friends has a good friend she works with and so I have become fair to good friends with her. She was married this winter and the ENTIRE year working up to the damn wedding was ALL ABOUT her and her wedding shit. Dear Friend was a member of the wedding party and somehow, since the maid of honor lives in California, Dear Friend got stuck throwing all the damn showers and the bachelorette party. It cost Dear Friend over $1,000 by the time she was done and I felt her pain. Anyway, I ended up going to 2 of this girl's 5...yes FIVE...showers...managed to ditch the bachelorette party which was going to be far too expensive, and did end up going to the VERY pretentious wedding. It was miserable and this girl was so depressed after she got married...because all the attention wasn't on her...that she needed meds! Sorry for the long story...I guess I needed to share.
from cuillin :
how are you, sweetie? As usual I've been a nightmare with email and such. I'm always glad that you don't hate me for being a procrastinating bum. I just hope that you're doing well -- know that I'm thinking of you!! xoxoxoxox
from lagrimitas :
hehe, I was all excited reading about your spider plant. I had the same trouble I had seen my aunts flower and mine wouldn't but it eventually did I took pictures to capture the moment. I now have a few spider plants which look lovely hanging in my backyard. I wish I knew people here who love to garden as much as I do =( none the less glad you had a "peachy weekend" hehe =)
from lagrimitas :
I dunno why but your diary always brings warmth and plenty of smiles....hope your having a peachy weekend! hugz =)
from ex-bitch :
glad to see your still reading my entries! And thank you for the good wishes!! I am fine though. I started detaching from my family a while ago due to the fact that they dont know the meaning of the word family. Or what unconditional love is for that matter. If I wasnt liveing with my father now this wouldnt even be an issue for me at all. But again I do thank you for any positive thoughts you send my way!! Good to hear from you.
from lagrimitas :
hehe dunno why but that entry made me laugh plenty *drools* yummy pixza! =)
from xprincessjen :
I'm really sorry about the e-mail thing...I fixed it now so it shouldn't be a problem.
from haloaskew :
"So, basically, I just want to frolic around outside in between naps." I loved that! Sounds like me exactly!
from xprincessjen :
Hey! I tried to e-mail you a password, but I don't think it went through. You can e-mail me directly at [email protected] if you have any trouble. =)
from lagrimitas :
Aww thank you! I am excited about my sunflowers!! I know you can treat your garden and surrounding area with some schtuff for slugs and snails...not sure if its costly though...=( will have to take pics and post for you =)
from lagrimitas :
I keep thinking the same thing, only because its military helicopters that fly by every so often...its a lil nerve wrecking
from xprincessjen :
Hey! Thanx for the message! =)
from lagrimitas :
ty very much for the kind note...truly appreciated..hope things are brighter on your end.
from atomicbuddha :
Feel better dammit!! Green phlegm is not good.
from haloaskew :
Thanks for the good luck wishes on the whole Slammy ordeal. It just needs to *end* already, ya know?
from haloaskew :
Yeah, you got that right. I just remembered something...yesterday I was in the elevator with this guy (he was one of the maintenance guys fixing our other elevator), and I said "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Edward Norton?" He said "Uhhh..nope. Edward Norton, huh?" (He had a real country twang, but a SEXY one). I could tell he didn't know who the hell EN was, so I said "You know, the actor?" He was stumped. I felt kinda dumb, but I betcha 10 bucks he asked someone about it later and hopefully realized it was a compliment! And yeah, I'm trying not to be so anal about writing mistakes. I don't worry as much as I did when I first started my diary, but sometimes, it just irks me during certain moods. But there are juice bars (a.k.a. "icy pops" or "popsios") in the fridge to take the edge off! If that fails, there's rum in the pantry... ;)
from haloaskew :
Geezoo! I can't write for shit today...keep making errors (wrote "thinking" instead of "think" below). Drives me BATTY when I don't catch that stuff! I had about 4 errors in my last entry which I had to go back and fix. I'm in a hurried mood. It's Friday. I need to relax! :)
from haloaskew :
Oh me too, me too! My faves are Minute Maid Juice Bars (orange, cherry and grape -- which is the order I eat them in. I can never have just one. Must have at least 2, so I always have a bunch of grape ones left over). And regarding complimenting gals on their looks...it can be really strange! When I blurted out the last part about her being pretty, I had this weird feeling like I'd gone too far and "oh cripes she doesn't thinking I'm hitting on her, does she?" It's bizarre how you try to say something really flattering (which would possibly even make someone's day!) and you end up feeling like "why did I bother?" Ack! (P.S. Are you feeling any better?)
from haloaskew :
So sorry to hear you're sick! I'm a big popsicle fan when it comes to sore throats too...I had a TERRIBLE sore throat back in college, so bad I could barely swallow. I had a temp of 103, hallucinated like mad, and the only thing I ate for 3 days was rainbow popsicles that my boyfriend (at the time) would go get me at the convenience store. Ah, what sweet relief! I do hope you get to feeling better...cozy up and get lots of rest!
from lagrimitas :
sorry to hear your not feeling well, hope you recover soon...*hugz*
from lagrimitas :
oi! your diary seems to have a little glitch, keeps asking me for a password to trancejens diary....hummmm =(
from haloaskew :
Hot damn, woman! You sure wrote a note quickly! I thought everyone was in bed being all bunky-bunky. Thanks for your thoughts...I had the notion that being polite would've shut his trap, but it seemed to make it worse. At least I have a complaint filed on his ass first! I can't wait for them to laugh him right out of their office if he tries to file something against me. What a jackass! *cough*
from lagrimitas :
Well I am glad to hear you are finally able to breath properly. Does that mean you are belting out some good tunes now? hehe =) Hey at least she was nice to tell you about the posty in your hair and remove it for you. Just imagine how many went by without telling you a single thing. Okay maybe that isn't very comforting but it was on my mind. Hope you have a lovely weekend =)
from haloaskew :
So glad you finally got your breathing meds! They'd better not screw you around again, or I WILL come after them with a whiffle bat and a group of hyperactive, sugar-laden 6 year-olds who have been promised a Disney movie and dinner at McDonald's!
from haloaskew :
Thanks for the karma-backed support about Slammy. Soon our offices shall be liberated from this presence of stupidity! ;)
from haloaskew :
Oh man...I LIVED for Weekly Reader books. Of course, they were actually mailed every other month, which sent me into shockwaves of anxiety. When I'd get the flat cardboard package of my next two books, I'd run into the house squealing, yelling for the scissors. I'd rip into the box like an addict with his latest score. The only experience that was as joyous was the monthly Highlights for Children magazine in the mail. Whoa doggies! I couldn't get enough! The stories, cartoons, puzzles....too intoxicating! They should have Highlights for Adults, don't you think? A little Dave Barry and Stephen King, some Dilbert cartoons, a crossword from the New York Times, a dose of Grisham, a teaser ad for Netflix, and a salty editorial by Dennis Miller. Whaddya think?
from atomicbuddha :
Thank you! That means a lot. :)
from lagrimitas :
ty for your well wishes, very much appreciated =) You take care of yourself...but most of all enjoy your gardening, i know it always helps me relax
from atomicbuddha :
Sorry about the double message...left this in your guestbook but not sure which one you prefer. Aw man...what'a up with all this pain and other strange medical stuff? You just need to stop that. :)Okay, here's the deal...I'm meditating FOR you tonight...sending you healing and all that whatthefuckever...lighting a candle and having a drink of something soothing, then a refreshing nap, all for you. In short, I'm thinking of you and hoping you feel MUCH better soon. Get on it.
from cruel-irony :
Heck, he couldn't even find the pilot light to my unit. I'm actually surprised he found my house.
from dasauce :
Damn. The furnace guy didn't even TWEAK YOUR UNIT? Useless fuck. Geez. DaSauce
from jason75 :
I think your diary has skitzed it with me!
from satellitebob :
thanks for the birthday wishes... now if this hang over will go away so i can start over again;)
from lagrimitas :
hehe so refreshing to read your diary, what a way to start a morning =)
from atomicbuddha :
OMG, I got so sad reading about Frank/Chuck/John/Vet and how they have left now...it almost had me teary-eyed. I guess I was relating the story to people in my life like them that have left...ohhhh the nostalgia...
from haloaskew :
Thanks for the kudos! :)
from a-splinter :
Thanks! I had so much fun checking out tongue teasers and doing my profile. Trying to find the perfect ones to suit the person. I have to admit though, yours was really difficult to find. But then a few factors came into play and I figured: PERFECT! It may change in the future though...depending on where and if I find more fascinating tongue teasers.
from haloaskew :
Yeah, I enjoy being behind the scenes as well (another reason I wouldn't be good manager material). One problem is that I have no real authority, so when extra work is heaped on me, it's hard to get cooperation from my team when I need to find answers...Things are so screwed up around here, I'm tellin' ya. As my work buddy put it, it's like a tornado hit a junkyard. One hell of a mess. But I know that one of these days, I'll find a job I love! *P.S. Great entry today! Funny bunnies!*
from dasauce :
You do sooo very much rock. Another great story, Ma'am. Bestest. Email on the morrow. Rick
from lagrimitas :
Gesh that is just horrible, I hate when I have to deal with such people on the telephone. Glad the supervisor had a little more common sense, sometimes you get the same response. hehe I tend to get banned from the garden nurseries by my family. I am addicted to plants and gardening. *sighs*
from dasauce :
That is a rockful entry. Thank you. SauceBoyHumanPerson
from atomicbuddha :
Thanks, we need all the luck we can muster! Why can't life be all kittens and rainbows?
from atomicbuddha :
Just wanted to drop in and tell you the new layout rocks the botanical world. Also, I hope you have been feeling better...I am starting to so those blue thoughts and candles must have helped!!
from dasauce :
My pop used to panic if my mom had thawed chicken and it was sitting in the fridge uncooked (as he had had a very hungry childhood.) Thus, he'd slam it back in the freezer after about three days of it sitting around no-longer-frozen in the reefer. We spent many a night up puking thanks to my father's Waste Not moments. Botch-Ah-Lism, salmonella, campylobacter? Didn't matter. Deathly ill seems the same no matter which of the three was our friend that night. You could try injecting them all into your sister's nervous system first to make sure they aren't dangerous. Next time you might grin and suggest such. You go first--often works with crack-pot ideas. Best-actcha. Rick
from dasauce :
OK. Last response for DaNight. I send an email and Bing! Up pops the notify from D-Land Mail. Funny. I think I got the gist of the nesting thing. I know I followed Noah and his Big-Ass-Ark-Of-The-DoubleMint... but I am not sure how they combine. Nor am I sure that after all this it was worth it to tell you such for now. G'night, MISS Truculent-Taunts
from dasauce :
But. I'll wager that it is never men who are trying to fix you up with someone. Correct? So. What is it about The Fairer Sex that makes them unfair and annoying on this count? --RemindMeToEmailYouAnIronyQuoteWhenIFindItAgainSauce
from dasauce :
You are a sweet human, MISS. {as he abruptly deletes Ma'am and caps the proper usage.) I just finished your entries...I will certainly keep reading--and I do want you to know that you have a fan. Quite something, you is. --SauceOfHappinessAtFindingAnotherGoodDiary
from lagrimitas :
Love the new look! I LOVE sunflowers so very lovely indeed! =)
from cuillin :
I have all sorts of things to send you, and I'm still taking forever in doing it....blah! I am thinking of you and love you! xoxoxoxoxo
from haloaskew :
I know what you mean about making lists and then breaking them down into detailed components to cross off more stuff. I do the exact same thing! For example, instead of just having a line item saying "Clean bathroom," I write "Clean bathroom: Vanity, Mirror, Tub, Sink, Toliet, Floors." And "Laundry" is broken down into "Wash, Dry, Put Away." I start every Saturday morning with a big 'ol list and try to get everything done by 5 pm. Such a sense of accomplishment...*sigh*
from laila726 :
Oooooh!! I *LOVE* your new layout! Nice and refreshing! It's a keeper! :)
from dasauce :
Um. I am not a car guy. Nice pants though. Anyway... I just had this bounce (twice.) You do not exist on DiaryLand's Mail system for the moment... Bellow to 'drew? PS. I call toddlers Ma'am, Sir, Madam, Senor, et al. It is an odd and somewhat annoying polite thing. Sorry. If it really bugs you, I'll try to lay off, but it is natural and I believe I outweigh you by a year and a month and change anyway. So it ain't ageist. X'cuse the long post to your notes. <<snip>> I am reading along...this evening after finishing an update (and thunking about getting tonight's dinner dishes in and folding DaBoy's clothing for tomorrow...) Reading your diary, actually. When, as I reach the end of the bit where the goof bidness guy is having a conversation with the fellow who was Out Of Context and going to BitchSlap someone, and hit next and blammo! New look! T'was a moment ajar and it made me think I hit a bad button and ended up at someone elses diary. So my thumb automatically hits button four on DaMouse (set as back) and yep. You changed your template. But it is the first time I have seen a new template in mid read, Ma'am. Had to tell you. Not sure why. But I have done so, and now am back to a bit of reading of all things Cruel and Ironic before hitting the dishes, folding and bed with a reread. Bestest, Rick
from dasauce :
OK. Not fair. I wanna whistle with your bird too. Pretty please? I whistle well... I do. And it's not like I am trying to get into your pants--I've sworn of relationships for the coming few decades. Beyond that, I don't know you and prolly never will--thus the pants thing ought to be moot. And is. Besides, I am not a transient--and I have a taste for the daily cruel-irony experience. Even before I ran into your diary, Lady. Either way, I do like your bird... and I am working my way from DaBeginning through Now-ish and enjoying your words. Thanks for the note, and bestest, Madam. --SauceYaLater?

from piehole :
Good god, don't mention the words "intervention" and "Law & Order" in the same sentence... It'll give my crazy don't-watch-Law-&-Order friends ideas... Also, you have some FREAKY ASS dreams... Freakier even than my dream where I was being chased by a school of angry jellyfish. (Eeek! Jellyfish!)
from lagrimitas :
hehe thanxs, hope it does turn out okay lol Sounds like you had fun today, unlike some of us stuck at home *pouts*
from ex-bitch :
By the way...your the only one who has me on their Fav list. I need to find you a medal or something.
from ex-bitch :
Wow! You have just made my day....yeah, it doesnt take much.
from ex-bitch :
Thank you! For a while there I thought no one was reading my diary! Woo Hoo Kelly
from emeraldtiger :
hey, hope you're feeling a little bit better. omg: i just finished reading your entry and i know exactly what you mean about newspapers in bags landing in puddles. lol!
from atomicbuddha :
Thanks for your well wishes...I needed that. I am feeling a little better. See that long distance support works...I'm a believer!
from emeraldtiger :
hey there! i just wanted to stop in and say hi. again i appreciate your e-mail messages. thanks for the book suggestion. i read it a few years ago and think everyone with an ICI (plus their friends and family) should read it. (although i think it was the 1st edition). i hope you're taking good care of yourself. ttyl!
from atomicbuddha :
Here's to hoping you feel MUCH better! I'll be doing that whatthefuckever thing for you...I don't know meditating or something, so that you can get better soon. :-) I SOOOO know how that feels and it sucks and no one should have to go through it. Have a restful and stress-free weekend.
from a-splinter :
I've always encouraged people to ask me questions even if they're "stupid" questions. Really, no question is stupid except the unasked ones. And besides, the more ridiculous questions give me a lot of comic material... And you're right, it's ignorant of these people to think that we're contagious. As if deafness or Fibro is airborne...
from atomicbuddha :
No way, I have a miniature VW bug on mine too! Mine is the New Beetle though, in that kick-ass pale, metallic green...yours? I think we may have to re-deal to get a winner at this poker game!
from atomicbuddha :
I'll see your box of rocks and packet of cactus seeds and raise you 3 matchbox 55 Chevy Nomad stationwagons, and 1 personalized Virginia license plate that reads "I AM H2O" from 1999-2001.
from atomicbuddha :
Loved the BG conversation entry. Sounds just like one of my many conversations. I SO felt that way about marriage too!! The key is finding that guy that also MUST have his alone time. Thankfully I found one of those and even though we work together (not in the same dept. though) we don't get sick of each other. We respect each other's alone time and relish our own. It helps that we were both only children I think. I used to freak out about it, the whole commitment thing, until I met him and corny as this sounds, it just felt right, intuitively I knew. Not like we don't have our issues mind you, but they are VERY few and far between. Anyway, it just struck a chord with me. Thanks for my note of encouragement by the way!! It left me smiling!
from lagrimitas :
hehe homies and mijos (made a note to check toy section to see what they look like) "Pull me from the wreckage of my own silent reverie" rings a bell but not sure and lazy to check, is that Sarah Mclachlin?? *shrugs shoulders*
from jason75 :
you got it spot on... by the way.. I have been trying to add you for a coyuple of days but diaryland hates me

I'm glad someone else recognizes Solstices. Happy Winter Solstice to you! Ahhh..the beginning of the Light Half of the year, so refreshing.
from atomicbuddha :
I know exactly what you mean about having one foot in one world, the other in another...at least I know what my perception of your description is...strange days those. I also had to say I have Claussens in my refrigerator at home...not just the big, whole dills, but also the sandwich slices, and the spears...I have iussues deciding which style to buy sometimes. I'll have some for you...until you can make it to the store.
from xpaperdoll :
masturbating. *cackles insanely like middle-schooler*
from atomicbuddha :
You are only about the 4th person I've met in my life that likes to drink from the pickle or olive jar. What kind of freak doesn't is my question? Damn it, I'm salivating and no pickles in sight for miles...
from atomicbuddha :
I am SO FUCKING HONORED...I am the exciting news!! Yay. How cool are you to link to my lame-ass diary? You're the best. I feel...well, almost famous now being mentioned in yours...you're just a really neat...not to mention classy...lady. Shit am I happy!
from aquira :
Thanks for the note! I can relate to the gadget-thing completely. I still haven't figured out how to programme my vcr. I have to set my alarmclock (yes, I CAN do that) and start my vcr manually whenever the programme starts. Heh. You're not alone. :)
from aquira :
He. hehehe. hehhheee. Whee, you're funny! I've been reading your diary for quite a while now, but I didn't figure out how to add diaries to my favourites-list until today. You're on it. Take care, A.
