I was in Brighton (and Hove) this summer. So there!
from elgan :
Thank you, and a happy Easter to you too.
from onlymayday :
Interestingly, ScriptFrenzy is already my life. I've got to have an 80-110 page full length mostly finished by this time next month. However, since SF happily falls in the summertime, it will give me something to do.
from elgan :
Dear Lily: Your updates are always welcome, no matter how erratic. I applaud your move to OS X. I myself am loving it, especially all the fun widgets I get to play with (I'm addicted to sliders, if you know what's good for you, you will not download it). I would have loved to have heard about the Bach B Minor, but I can wait. Yours, Elgan
from elgan :
The thing beeping at you could be your smoke detector telling you to change the battery.
from onlymayday :
Thanks so much! I heartily appreciate it.
from elgan :
Happy birthday, Lily dear!
from elgan :
All the best for 2006 Lily. Congratulations on a 2005 well completed!
from elgan :
Congratulations on passing your exam. Well done!
from onlymayday :
Welcome back! Wondered whether you'd disappeared forever, or were coming back. Glad it's the latter.
from elgan :
Dear Lily: I have missed you and it was a delight to me to see your name in red on my buddy list. Please don't be such a stranger. Love, Elgan.
from funky--dory :
Heya, this is just a quick note to let you know a work colleague found my diary so I moved >_< - Kati a.k.a. k1ttykat
from sombervision :
Beautiful diary you have here! ~ Morticia http://sombervision.diaryland.com
from k1ttykat :
I'm glad you're safe :) London was a scary and strange place today.
from elgan :
Glad to hear you're all right.
from elgan :
Happy New Year, dear Lily. All the best for 2005!
from elgan :
And a very fine solstice celebration to you too. We are celebrating Brumalia at our house and have a very fine representation of Saturn (the planet, complete with glorious rings) atop our poor excuse for a tree, along with the usual coloured lights and glass globes. It's always a joy to hear from you.
from k1ttykat :
Yes! Update muchly! (Not that I'm one to talk.) And congratulations on passing! I still find it very weird to have graduated and the thought that I never have to write another essay ever again, let alone lab reports, fills me with both relieved joy and panic. It's all I can do to stop myself from dashing out and signing up for some random course just so I can call myself a 'student' once more.
from elgan :
It is always such a pleasure hearing your voice on these pages.
from k1ttykat :
*pets* I got to about 6000 odd then realised I ought to have planned it because it was going in multiple crazy directions. Is cool you have something you're somewhat happy with though! Most impressive :)
from petrichor :
I forgot, again, about NaNo(etc) this year. Ugh. Suddenly while lazily browsing Diaryland, I come across multiple mentions of it, taunting me, taunting me with my forgetfulness!!! Agh!!! (By the way, good luck! One has to respect anyone who attempts this.)
from elgan :
A simple solution to the </p><p> vs. <br> business is simply to double space between paragraphs. D-land will automatically put in a paragraph break for a doublespace, a <br> for a single. I too was addicted to Snake II when I first got my cell phone. I have overcome that addiction, and it's a good thing because my battery was forever wearing down. In order to ease up those F#s, just imagine while you are singing that your throat is the size of a storm sewer. That should help with that tight feeling. Enjoy!
from elgan :
Once more I say with fervour and passion: Welcome back Lily. This time, do not leave us for so long. We (that is, I) languish in your absence, pining for your return.
from elgan :
Welcome back to Diaryland, dear Lily. I for one have truly missed you.
from elgan :
Hooray! Youre back! All that wonderful music, I am so envious. I sang the Elgar when I was your age (oh my god that dates me) and I remember it being the most uplifting experience. Brava!
from elgan :
Lily, where are you? You havent updated in ages, and I miss you!
from elgan :
Congrats on getting into the prestigious London choir! I await with baited breath to hear what repertoire you will be doing with them.
from chinatea :
David Bowie, ah sweet sweet sexiness in form-fitting androgynous clothes. How can anyone say no?
from elgan :
With regard to your ebay problem: I've never dealt with this organization so I may be way off base here, but it would seem that the best way to get out of this loop you're in is to simply create a new account as a new user and set up a new name and password. Just let the old one expire, if possible, or delete it, if that is also an option.
from elgan :
Nice angels. I am envious of you people who know how to make your diaries more beautiful places to visit. I must see if I cant tart mine up a bit, add some pictures or borders and some fancy fonts. I feel so plain! Youve done a very tasteful job on yours.
from elgan :
Nice to see you back and on page again. I've missed your distinctive voice. Thanks a bunch for the link to the Dolmetsch site. I can see myself becoming a regular customer.
from elgan :
I don't want to seem pushy or presumptious, but my diary has come unlocked, and since I am always reading your diary, it didn't seem fair somehow that you were shut out of mine.
from euphoria21 :
Merry Christmas, honey..
from elgan :
Congrats on the excellent theory mark! Brava!
from elgan :
Welcome back!
from elgan :
Dear Lily: Just a word of warning about the clarinet. Be careful that you don't start developing a tight jaw by biting down on your mouthpiece. Clarinet playing is generally anathaema to singers, where a relaxed jaw is of utmost importance. I have experienced this phenomenon firsthand, and I have also been teaching singing for a very long time, so I know from whence I speak. Good luck on the writing!
from revgirlutena :
Hey, I just wanted to say that Revolutionary Girl Utena rocks and I wanted to tell you that if your really into it that you should go onto Quizilla and search Revolutionary Girl Utena and you can find out which character you are from the series. I'm Utena!!!! Drop me a note, we'll talk!!!
from ladyirony :
Um, just a thought, but maybe you could wear that lovely red Chinese number you bought on eBay last year? You said that was a summer dress... unless you've already worn it, in which case, honey, GO TO EBAY! ;) It's time for some retail therapy! ;)
from euphoria21 :
Happy 4th of July!!!! ~Vy
from thediastema :
*has the Dylan/well thing on repeat* You find the greatest stuff...
from lacorneille :
Yick. Stupid diaryland. >.<
from the29th :
I'd highly recommend InSoc's cover of U2's "One" but that might be because I have a thing for that song for some reason. I also have a weakness for "Mirrorshades". Actually, I just like them period. Throwback to the old days when I really REALLY liked them. They never were much of a one-song band, not to me. Of course, everyone thinks of them as one hit wonders.
from stardwarf :
If you only knew the ridiculous amount of time *I* spent working on making cds lately. I have to burn the cd and listen to it for a few days, then tweak it, then burn it, repeat at least 3 times. It's sad.
from the29th :
That is a great piece. {The 'handiwork drowning' thing.}
from chiv :
mornin. i know this is perhaps not the flavour of the month anymore, but y'know- tough. diaryrings, browsing of (heh,i can't sleep, alright?). against the english monarchy? what an odd thing to say. it's british..it's of the commonwealth (and a happy commonwealth day to you..slightly belatedly). english? mh, how queer. and it makes money by the by, if finance stands as a case against them (then there's always the 'what republicanism gave the world' list. bush, the ira, the 20th century frenchman and his blood thirsty empire). that'll do, i'm losing interest now.
from catbus :
Hey! Thanks for leaving me a note, and for listing me as a fave, I feel so unworthy! Yes, Bozzio is truly truly amazing -- I can only hope to have as much drumming prowess as he possesses in his pinky finger. I admire your choral pursuits...my singing voice won't make it past the car/shower. Cheers!
from ilonina :
hey lily, congratulations on a fine diaryring and a rocking diary, from a fellow Second Soprano! Love your writing - and mightily Approve of your Choral Passion. Christmas may be over but at least Choirs keep going...
from ladyirony :
>.< Forgive all the HTML in my last message... I was under the impression that the d-land notes feature could handle it, I was WRONG. ;~ That sucks.
from ladyirony :
This proves that I am tired. I thought your passage: <P> "<i>Aaanyhow, having lost that due to blatant unfairness, we went back to Church for Midnight Mass</i>" was instead: <P> "<i>Aaanyhow, having lost that due to blatant unfairness, we went back to Church and wept</i>" <P> I was about to offer my condolences! ;) Just goes to show that Irony shouldn't read when she's tired, n? ;)
from euphoria21 :
Merry Christmas angel!!!xoxoxoxo
from lacorneille :
I will display Christmas cards in January...especially considering that I won't be getting any of mine UNTIL late January/early February.
from stardwarf :
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!
from crion :
Thanks, though I feel a bit bad about it--once it was verified, I deleted all but what I've posted. It's utterly worthless for anything but its wordcount.
from ladyirony :
DAMN girl!!! No *tea*?! Hey now, let's not get carried away here... ;) Good luck! And I hope I *see* you today... :/
from elviejito :
Hey, it's Roberta, this is my new diary, I've finally gave up the ghost on my old one, no passwords to worry about now at least. Just in case you want to change my name on your buddylist (please???!!) luv from Rob
from zerom3ph :
as jeff k would say, teh horrar. teh horrar.
from stardwarf :
GRRRRrrrr. I just not got to read your diary entry and I wish I hadn't! I'm not so mad at this woman that I could chew up nails and spit them at her. I can't even articulate how angry that makes me. Bah to her. I hope a thousand NaNoWriMo writers flood her with 50,000 words a month about why she sucks.
from stardwarf :
hey - i'm at work at the moment but when i get home i'll be more than happy to post the mp3 for you of EWTRTW... send me an icq message to remind me
from dragonette :
thou art quite hilarious and I should like to read your novel. are you posting it online?

from stardwarf :
Oh, I hope you're happy... you... crack pusher, you! I'm signing up for NaNoWriMo. Bah! I shouldn't. I can see the miserable failure laying huge and ugly across my year's end. Oh well.
from euphoria21 :
Hi sweetie, it's euphoria021, and it's been a while since I sent you a little something. I just wrote an entry about you so when you have the time check it out. Your name's on the title and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I've missed reading your stuff. But I won't stop reading b/c I realized how much I've missed out on. You should think about changing what you wrote about me in your list of favorites...*It's defenitely not the banners that I'm crazy about*...*giggles and blushes*, farewell my darklily...see you around
from stardwarf :
I came here to leave you a note because I just saw that you added me to your favorites and I was all excited that someone did and I scrolled down to add a note and then I saw that you list Neil Gaiman as a favorite writer and specifically mention "Murder Mysteries" and I almost ... I don't know, did something from the excitement... because I adore Gaiman especially "Murder Mysteries" So, wow, now I'm even more excited 'cause that means that not only did someone add me to their favorites, but it was someone with GOOD TASTE. I'm sure that means I won't be on that list for long! Now this note has gotten kind of long and there is a banner with a crayon going into an ear showing and it's kind of weirding me out so I have to click "done!" now. But thanks!
from ladyirony :
Liiiiiiiiiilyyyyy... guess what? The link for the CFL no longer works... I don't know if their host is screwing around, or if they've moved it or *what*, but I wanted my CFL, and I've been DEPRIVED! *wails* So do me a favor and check into that, will ya?
from robertahay :
I would LOVE to know who Julian Rhind-Hutt is :D luv from Rob
from doombilly :
awww I love that Roxy tune...how is the cover version?
from doombilly :
aaaah. That's the 1st Stranglers song I ever heard. Off of the Burning Ambitions punk comp vinyl....but the money's still good....get a grip on yourself...
from honey-blade :
Sod telling us how to please *them* in bed, it's not like that's the hardest thing in the world! Noo, we should get articles on how to get them to please *us*! That's where most men needs guidelines, doncha know? :)
from doombilly :
That's funny I've been going to the dating sites too. Hyuk. I think your perusal is way healthier than mine, though.
from euphoria21 :
Tal about feeling honored!!! Thanks for dedicating that page to mua!!! xoxoxxoxoxoxo as many as you want honey...*sighs*
from euphoria21 :
Anyone that has that much passion about Tori, Bowie, and Neil Gaiman(my fave), is defenitely my kind of girl. Read me up some time
from ladyirony :
Just goes to show that one shouldn't re-read entries about siouxsie when they're half-asleep. ;) For a second I thought that "The Banshees" were another tribe of native american and that Siouxsie was just playing merry hell with some irony. Then I remembered Banshees was a kind of irish ghost, and felt damn silly. ;) Oh well! ;D I'll blame it on being up since 4AM this morning. >_O
from thefunway :
Your advertisement is too quick. I can't read all of it in one go, and I read fairly quickly. I stopped editing an entry to leave this note. I must be so cool.
from honey-blade :
Optimism... courage against adversity... female vocals... "I Will Survive"?! :)
from broken-glass :
Your diary makes me smile. Makes me miss England, too.
from lacorneille :
Yes! I love 'foxed.' It's just so...so...Aziraphale-y! *does happy dance*
from robertahay :
DUDE, I'd go mad if I got talked to about the Queen in church! Especially after all last weeks crud- about the only time I'm glad to be a Catholic, teehee! love from Rob
from ladyirony :
LILY!!! Oh my GOD can I just say how sorry I am??? :( Stupid computer messed up!!! WAAAAH! *sob* I promise, I'll drop you a note by snail mail! I HOPE to be back by tommorrow, though... I'm sorry for weirding you out or anything... hope I didn't scare you too badly. :(
from robertahay :
Well, if you do learn to sew one, whip off a dublicate and send it up to Scotland, there's a girl!
from robertahay :
A twinings SHOP? There's a Twinings SHOP? Now I feel like the tea ignoramus. God, the place must smell like heaven...of course, they wouldn't have one in Scotland, would they? NNNOOOOOO......*bitter and twisted* luv from Rob
from lacorneille :
Isn't afrai *brilliant?* She has a diary, you know. And it's highly amusing and wonderful. afrai.diaryland.com
from robertahay :
It only took til NOW for you to discover the beauty that is TWININGS? The shame. I'm telling you, just sniffing an Earl Grey teabag can cheer me up, it beats aromatherapy! luv from Roberta p.s. WHEE! I'm a DISCOVERY!!!!!!
from ille :

from dulcimer :
And a very happy birthday to you, too, mam'selle... albeit rather belatedly. Erk. :/
from robertahay :
Oh cripes, my computer went mad on me last night, I feel like I left you in the lurch a bit!!!!!! Sorreee! Just to let you know I hadn't ran away or anything! Thanks for IMing me again, twas lovely of you :) luv from Roberta
from robertahay :
I HAD to commment on the German that I saw on your page there! Whether it was Babelfished or not, it was still beautiful to read. Also, you have the best taste in things I've ever seen, particularly the Kate Bush and Tori Amos and Velvet Goldmine. You are rocksome :-) luv from Roberta
from ladyirony :
Hey, my Philosophy instructor said there was a 5th gospel called the gospel of Thomas (yes, very same Thomas who wasn't squeamish. ^_~) that did in fact include all of those great works that you wanted to see. ;) Unfortunately the "editors" that were put in charge of the bible didn't want to include this particular gospel, and left it out. I think I'll ask him about where you can get it. ^_^

-Lady Irony

from bluestars :
You have a very pretty diary. An I will return.. :0)
from vitamin-c :
Wow! That was damn fast. Something peculiar is happening to the mail service these days...it's been doing its job. And hopefully the CDs I'm doing for you will be ready in time for your birthday (yes, let's overuse the italics now, Kris!).
from lacorneille :
Your next/previous link image is broken. I like the new layout, btw.
from lacorneille :
So, Julia fans, any idea which film features Julia as an unnaturally pale 17th Century Puritan housewife who seems to spend her time hanging around with vaguely vampiric looking blokes and looking nervy? Not a Julia fan (quite the opposite, in fact), but that sounds rather like "Mary Reilly," a sort of retelling of Jekyll & Hyde with some very good bits (John Malkovich, Glen Close) and some less good bits (her other talents not taken into accounts, Julia Roberts was not meant to play a Victorian maid). It's an enjoyable sort of movie, if one likes that sort of thing.
from lacorneille :
The reason your diary displayed in TNR before would presumably be that it's the default font for most browsers (unless you change it) and you didn't have a specified font. I'm not sure why people hate it; I personally think sans-serif fonts (like Verdana) are easier to read on-screen, and I prefer Palatino for hard copy, but TNR isn't hideous beyond words or illegible, so...speaking of which, your current font is rather tiny on my computer for some reason.
from honey-blade :
I don't see the problem with TNR - it's a nice, clear font that everyone can read (she says, knowing the font on her diary is virtually illegible ^_^; ). Anyways. I've got Outer Zone for you! Since ICQ doesn't seem to be sending my messages to you, contact me when you're on next and we can arrange meeety-type thingz :)
from honey-blade :
Oooh, funky noo design! Kewl! :)
from jenne1017 :

Welcome to the Alan Rickman and Good Omens diaryrings!

Thanks for joining the nonsmokers diaryring...please post the code within the next 3 days. If it is posted, and I just didn't see it, let me know where I can find it. Thanks! *krie*
from spoliaoptima :
Bizarre Quiz - I could hardly do any of them - deeply unfair to anyone not American - but then so are a lot of things in life (of which I can't actually think of any examples) - you know way too much strange stuff. This is some more strange stuff - Nylon - launched in New York & London simultaneously (Honestly!!!) ....errr....Arnold Schoenberg - wrote some OK music, then went completely doolally and wrote some wierd stuff that nobody actually likes, just pretend to in order to look intellectual and errrr - tonic - I am musically obsessive but I still can't think of key-relationships without fighting back the urge to whip out the Gordons and have a quick swig...... Bye for now.... Spoli
from honey-blade :
"One More Step Along The World I Go"? Oooh, you poor thing. That song was the bane of my life in primary school, along with "It's A New Day". Urrgghh, who picks these things?!
from grrarrgh :
oh oh oh, i agree, The Lion And The Cobra is a masterpiece. Do you listen to P.J. Harvey? Sorry ... i'm just very very bored. buh bye, derek
from darkstar79 :
Hey darklily! Im the first time on diaryland and i choose your name because of the "dark"... I also like kate bush and oscar wilde! My favourite Music is from Bjrk and my favourite book in the moment is "Sarah" by J.T. Leroy!!! You must read it! Im bi-sexuell too:) Bye Bye Denis
from honey-blade :
Ah, it seems I was half-right. Tachycardia is an abnormally fast heartbeat. I presume that tachycardia is a more-or-less constant thing, whereas palpitations come and go. So there you have it :)
from honey-blade :
"Cardia" refers to the heart, but I don't know about the "tachy" bit. I was tempted to think palpitations, but that's more associated with high caffeine intake than withdrawal, I think. I'll poke some online dictionaries for ya, I'm curious now :)
from daddysgirlsp :
Hey, I'm a member of your "Chorister" diaryring...LoL, I love it. Anywayz, I thought you might enjoy this website...it is "The Truth About Choir"! LoL! http://forwardgarden.com/forward/10753

Dude, I LOVE Pantomime! They used to have shows on TV at Christmas, but they stopped *sniff* We used to have Aladdin taped but it's long since died on us *sigh* Gotta love that Widow Twanky!
from honey-blade :
It was amazing, wasn't it? WASN'T IT?? I was recoiling in my seat during the scene where Frodo offers the ring to Galadriel. My mum was gasping all the way through it and I couldn't sleep last night because when I closed my eyes all I could see was Middle Earth! And I get to go see it again, with Neko this time. Yay!
from duckhunter :
Hey, doll! You're gonna love 'Lord of the Rings'! Maybe you'll recognize Legalos from 'Wilde,' 'cause I didn't. I'm assuming you've seen 'Wilde,' being the Wilde and Stephen Fry fan that you are! :)
from vitamin-c :
Alrighty, I know I'm talking to you on IM right now, but since when has common sense ever stopped me from doing something? Never, never I tell you! Gods, I need these finals to be over soon.
from larvamachine :
Tee hee, I love your advent calendar quotes. But mine don't make sense: Zechariah was chosen to go into the temple. Really? Good for him. Ok I shall shut up now.
from stellamaris :
i <3 your buttons. sinead o'connor rocks my socks, as does kate bush.
from lysytheea :
wow..I just stumbled on your diary, and your buttons are beautiful!!

from sarahdreams :
You're so cute.
from sayrchan :
What's your IM sn, now that you have it? Mine's zirconia82. I really have no idea what the time difference is, but I'm usually on around 9:30-11:00 Eastern Satndard Time. Hope to talk to you soon! (And still wrestling with ICQ...)
from molkolover :
heylooo, i just joined your Oscar Wilde diaryring. I am very honoured to be the 2nd member. That is all. Becca
from sayrchan :
Hello! I've never actually used one of these note thingies, but I thought, why not? Anyway, I wanted to ask you about ICQ. Basically, I have it but I don't know how to use it, and no one I know in RL seems to either, so I thought I'd ask a person who does. What do I do?
from darklily :
OK, not sure how useful this'll be, seeing as I have a guestbook already, but heigh-ho, 'tis free, may as well go for it. :)
