hey, where the fek are you?
from tater-fay :
I wish you'd write SOMETHING again..come on. It HAS been forever..I'm glad to know you are still alive!
from vamosajugar :
if you don't have anything to say, them maybe you should stop talking. I've been thinking of doing such. I think I wouldn't be able to. I'm a very verbal person. Then I thought I would speak only to say important things.
from vamosajugar :
the guestbook looks cooler than this note thing. It's not so pastel. I talk to myself as my friends. I say to myself, "I call Kazim and let it all spill out." Then I think about what I would say, and he would say or what I would I want him to say. Then, I realize, I got what I wanted out of that conversation and don't call him. I really think I should write him a letter. I was about to but then I was distracted by A Clockwork Orange, the movie. Kazim and that movie are not the same
from nimiiwin :
I think Bitch & Animal are definitely better live! Have you heard Pussy Manifesto? Hilarious and chicks love it! :
from tater-fay :
Hey sweets..I listened to "Maggot Brain" last night and thought of you. xoxoxo...I'll try to make it up to Portland soon for plain cheese pizza.
from vamosajugar :
... is your life really "blah"? Is it as awesome as it could be, awesome as I could it imagine it to be?
from youreviews :

from simon-lagrue :
Happy Birthday, Darryl!! You rock!
from vamosajugar :
she brought the thunder.
from exhaust :
I have a feeling you were reading about the rain last night.
from simon-lagrue :
Read "The Mole People" by Jennifer Toth. Do it.
from redivivus :
hah. Yeah, those fucking white people.
from tay-parker :
"all i am is frustrated." god, don't I know that feeling. <3 Tay "Parker"
from tay-parker :
Politics are often over-talked, anyway. <3 Tay "Parker"
from redivivus :
I don't know exactly what happened, but it doesn't make sense that she should stand in front of a bulldozer. It also seems odd that the evil Isreali's should chase her down in their bulldozers. Maybe its tragic because her death was a complete waste, its inspired no one. No one is really going to remember the activist's martyr. And yeah, theres something smug about those damn scientists. Don't be angry with me, please! Peace.
from exhaust :
Check your bloody email.
from exhaust :
I thought you'd never ask. And, it's not as unlikely as you think... it's only hours.
from vamosajugar :
first of all, I LOVE YOU for knowing that song. Second of all, there's a guy (with sexy-bitch hair) at my school who sounds exactly like the guy when he says "Hi Honey, How's Boston." Now I'm off to the Vicentown Diner
from mangofarmer :
:)
from nimiiwin :
Daryl - thanks for the invitation! My coat's the bright red one. Only looks like leather. Shh! Don't tell anyone. Nimiiwin
from simon-lagrue :
My condolences on the loss of your great-grandmother, D. I am on the verge of losing my grandma. She had congestive heart failure, but came out of that and the doctor found nodules in her lungs which we believe have passed to her lymph systems... so its only a matter of time now :-( She's not in pain and we have kept this knowledge from her as she would instantly go downhill if she knew :-( So, we celebrate the time we have had and take advantage of what time is left. I enjoy your diary and hope to see you back soon.
from exhaust :
Haha!! I actually slapped my own forehead. You know... it was late.

from tay-parker :
I was listening to The Mars Volta just yesterday. --Tay "Parker"
from adobogirl :
it makes sense. when do I get to hear your voice again? I mean, since I have competition with all the hotties around you... =P
from trancejen :
Oh God, your profile quote for me is one of my most favorite songs EVER. Imagine a six-foot albino white girl trying to sing Ice Cube. Hell yeeeeeeeah.
from redivivus :
I doubt the war on Iraq had much to do with weopons of mass destruction or oil. Do you know?
from adobogirl :
ha...come to detroit to study. it's cheap, international and there's adobo. (^-*)
from adobogirl :
mmm...mmm...mmm... so cute, so far. *sigh*
from redivivus :
meed-ee-ah, med-ia, media. Saving the people would have been an incredibly simple thing. Now I'm not trying to be pro-American or anything, I hate them as much as you do, but this war was a 'good thing.' Don't be bitter. While were demonizing the Americans do you even know why their in the Middle East ever?
from redivivus :
Actually the Americans along side of the UN gave aid specified for the people but Saddam took it and sold it on the black market to help fund such things as his many palaces.
from redivivus :
GAsp* those dastards! Saddam never did that. We all know he fed his people and nourished them with medical supplies. I mean, Bahgdad was the bomb. I was planning to move there and have some children where they could laugh and play around obsessive pretend games praising thier new dictator. God Bless his generous ways.

from adobogirl :
i feel you, man...to the extent that you cannot even imagine...
from adobogirl :
I like your comment for me on your profile... Um, in regards to your entry- there was this guy singing onstage at karaoke tonight that was just screaming, "FUCK HUSSEIN!!!" I thought that was so...not cool. (lack for a better term.) People are being polarized over this war and it's such a touchy subject that I just listen and stand back while I pray for my best friend who's out there, being a pawn in this stupid game...
from redivivus :
I'm worried that you are beggining to demonize politics like a prejudice and are refusing to acknowledge that, yes, some of the actions they take are legitimate.
from redivivus :
Pick up some TIME magazine and some issues of the Economist (new sourses!). On the issue of democracy look up Noam Chomsky. PS. I hope you find a job.
from adobogirl :
Speaking of pissing people off, that's what the Philippine people did TWICE in the form of "People Power" when they wanted to oust a bad leader (ie Marcos, Erap). But after they get pissed off and oust whoever they want out of office, there's a lack of true directional leadership, and hence the chaos continues.
from redivivus :
And of course you are missing many arguments, or simply dissmissing them. You linger on your sources of information.
from redivivus :
In this reference one is relative to the other and considering his occupational past I doubt you or I am more qualified to say. For one he was a spy during world war II. He is a retired professor of political science at the Univeristy of Calgary. Anyways, don't you see that your media references are trying to wind you up? They sometimes manipulate the truth just as much as some certain politicians do.
from redivivus :
I happen to know one of the most intelligent men in the world. He is pro-war. Who is myopic?
from tater-fay :
*sigh*..Jason is driving me crazy. I'm gonna kick him out. Will you be my boyfriend? hee hee...ok, I'm being drastic!
from verbivore :
i love, love love love you like i love sitting outside in the rain and the cold and like i love too-hot baths and kissing boys who smoke cigarettes
from redivivus :
What really pisses me off about America is this thing called Free Trade. You see, America makes agreements and holds them only as long as their useful to them. Kind of like Hitler. Where does Tariffs fit into free trade?
from moonshine76 :
Ack, may I have a password?
from redivivus :
"television does not exists anymore..." ouch dude. How can you say that? WE SHALL LIBERATE THE TELEVISION!
from mangofarmer :
I'm seeing a definite kissing theme going on in your profile comments. I can only say one thing to this: :-*
from tater-fay :
Hello, my sweet Darryl! I do believe that the D4 you saw the flyer for is the band I like from New Zealand (rather than the Dillinger Four from the US)...they are playing Seattle in a week or so (I'm gonna be shaking my ass in the front row) and I imagine they'll be coming to Portland either before or after Seattle..if you have the money and the will-power, you might wanna check them out. If nothing else they are very POWERFUL when seen live!! *hugs*...I ate pizza twice this week and thought of you. You are the pizza boy!
from redivivus :
One day you'll look back at all the entries you have made and you may see a pattern. What note will that be?
from adobogirl :
*hug* You won't or can't? I agree though, sleeping is cool because dying is melodramatic. Maybe that's why I did that too much. Hmm... just checking up on you. Mind if I add you as a buddy on my LJ?
from redivivus :
http://www.guerrillanews.com/white_america/ Everyone has an vapid anti-American bone in them ;)
from redivivus :
uh... hey dood I hate myself too! Wow, we could be like hate brothers, until I grow out of this whole hate faze. Then you'll just have to hate yourself alone. Sounds sucky. If you go awall can I have your things?
from trancejen :
I just signed your guestbook, but your book didn't like me and ate it. I wanted to tell you that your good wishes do matter, and I'd like to return them with some of my own. It doesn't sound like your life has been cake lately, either. Good luck on the job search. May you be overpaid. :)
from adobogirl :
I'll be turning 22 in 6 days and I feel like shit. Being stuck in a rut that is full of Aunt Jemima's backwater isn't exactly the most pleasurable experience. I haven't moved. I feel stagnant. I'm not where I'd thought I'd be. Or near where I wanted to be. Anyway, I don't know if I'm relating similar sentiments to your entry...but that's what I'm feeling.
from adobogirl :
you find it confusing? man...don't you know detroit is where the freaks are born (ie eminem, madonna, kidrock)?
from rar :
Came through from your banner. Advertising works sometimes. Just want to say Wow, you're knowledge of music and elegantly flowing writing style are amazing. You should try free-lance writing music history articles for magazines. Seriously, I think you'd do well.
from adobogirl :
hawaii? oh, man... da kine!
from adobogirl :
i'm the opposite, actually. I write light shit on lj since the only reason why I got it was to read my homie's "friend's only" entries. my name on there is detroitpinay...
from adobogirl :
I read your live journal. deep rantings, man...it's deep. this whole war issue is frightening. The only conviction I have is that no matter what, we are going to war. My best friend is deployed in iraq. He's two things that they might prize: a jewish marine. Anyway, one random quesiton, if i so may ask: where do you find your niche in writing? DLand or LJ?
from redivivus :
What I meant to say is that you seem to be plenty good at looking for reasons why the United States is wrong. Perhaps you should not be like them, in the sense that you reconize other people bear some justifications. On the mass majority of the things you say I agree with you, you got a great diary/blogger thingey, bless your left-leaning head. PS I'm sorry if you were insulted by the mention of 'ignorance' it is a touchy word. Lets just pretend it never came up. PPS You don't have to validate yourself with a response. Just something to ponder. You have a fantastic day, and keep writing.

Congradulations, happy 400th.
from maralisa :
nine years worth?! i'm sure you'd be sick of me by the end of season three... xx
from heartracer :
i am so glad i clicked on your banner.
from redivivus :
Wouldn't it be odd if the United States became the solution to the very problems it has created?
from tater-fay :
Yes...we should meet for coffee or tea on Capitol Hill....when? I could do it on Sunday!
from tay-parker :
I really liked that. Just thought I'd let you know. --Tay "Parker"
from tater-fay :
I saw two people at the Visqueen/D4 show on Saturday night at Graceland that I THOUGHT might be you. I even asked one of them if he was you. He wasn't you..oh well, eventually I'll find you at a show!

Oh, the art of getting into university. I'm going through that myself. I can't get one of my "references" to call me back to be my "reference" (she is a former employer) and I pretty much well can say I did TERRIBLE on the GRE so if, come March or April, The Univ. Of Washington's Grad School actually tells me I've been accepted, I think I probably won't even believe them!! It's all so torturous and really reduces my self-esteem to a pile of rocks...hang in there, man!
from tater-fay :
good luck finding a job! I know it can be tough!!
from tater-fay :
by the way..I absolutely LOVE Bad Brains...Esp. "Rock for Light"..oh and Steve Albini is a master producer and I really liked (like) Big Black and Rapeman (and Shellac to a lesser degree)....I remember this one time when I saw Big Black (I'm from Illinois) musta been about 1987 and they set fireworks off at the venue and were forever banned from playing there again..assholes (he he)

Your persistence in contacting individuals who haven't posted diaries in over a year (and never more than one before that!) is to be admired as a sort of breathless, hope-beyond-hope idealism. Had you sent a similar message to the only /other/ user to put Babe: Pig in the City among their favorite movies? These questions are lost to the mists of time. Chances are good you'll never see me again, but thanks for reaching out. Reminds me occasionally that I'm bumping cyber-shoulders with actual human beings and not merely lobotomized AIs.
from dramoth :
ha! thanks for taking my survey. I'll get back to you on your last comment asap.
from alternamommy :
Sorry about the Little Prince. He'll be back, though. I just gotta rotate the layouts or it makes me nuts. :)
from ambrianna :
And the Palestians aren't being led by "warmongering racists?" At least the Israeli government isn't targeting buses full of school children.
from cazzi :
i just wanted to say that i really like your diary ( i found you through your survey). i enjoy your style of writing and we agree on a lot of the same stuff (george dubya for one). Maybe i'll IM you one day, until then, cassie
