YAY for friend crushes and YAY for new episode of Gilmore Girls starting in half an hour! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
YAY - I am glad you updated! I was wondering if you got my message on msn this morning. :) I have missed seeing your name highlight red and it was nice to see tonight. I can totally understand the difficulty of keeping up two diaries though - I can barely keep up one! :P
from vaniche :
hey Alida, Hope you're doing great - I lost your url for your NY diary (doh!) so have been missing out on updates, I'm sure. Anyway - I tagged you (see blog entry linked below)! If you have time, you can fill it in and tag someone else. http://vaniche.blogspot.com/2006/01/ive-been-tagged.html
from lindzeeleigh :
"Take the seahorse off your penis and put your pants on." HAHAHAHAHA - that made me whole night. Thanks for sharing. :) xo.
from beautyawake :
HaHa!! I didn't do too badly. As for your post. I am agreement with Ryan... was it (by the way, cute? or average?) Anyways.... you need to enjoy your time there. I suggest you find the movie Airborne. It is wicked old 93. but it talks alot about what you are going through. Start with a mentality of you are staying longer then a year. I have always maintained (and Jen K agrees) you aren't coming home. This brings me hope so that I can come visit you!!! And you can show me all those places we have talked about. And the shows etc. You have an oppourtunity of a lifetime. Your tailor made oppourtunity. Don't let us here stop you from enjoying it. Staying there mentality is my suggestion. My title really says what my book is all about.... The Lies my Friends Told Me. Once Nano is done I will give you more details. I is a personal story that I have had written in my head for years. You were in my life for some of it. And really it has turned into something much different. Just be patient with me and I will send you some proofs in the New Year. Hope you are well, Lids.
from fulfilled :
Not bad... Let's see: Victoria--Lorelai's middle name. Leigh--Rory's middle name. Forrester--Dean's last name. Christopher--Rory's dad. Rachel--Luke's ex. Lucas--Luke (obviously). Dean--Dean (duh). Hayden--Christopher's last name. Jessica--female form of Jess. William--Luke's dad's name (from William's Hardware, on the diner). Fanatic much? Yes. My story, so far, is turning into something about the relationships between women--the important women who shape our lives, and what kind of impact our friends, sisters, and mothers have on us. What's yours, besides a flamboyantly straight dance instructor?
from beautyawake :
Dean- boyfriend Christopher- Dad Rachel- Friends Jessica- female version of Jess? How'd I do... What is your story about.
from starlight42 :
I think that's awesome that you and your grandma have that kind of relationship now. Unfortunately I never had the chance for that with my grandmas. So you should really treasure it.
from beautyawake :
YES!! RENT IS COMING!! I almost lost my mind when I saw the trailer that and Prime and Narnia,Harry Potter, oh there are more. Alright I bought Drew but not Orlando... cool? It is too bad we can't see these movies together oh well we will just have to write to each other about them.... in December LOL!!! I am at 1009 how many are you at?
from beautyawake :
YES!!!RENT IS COMING!!
from fulfilled :
Like I said, I think it appealed to me because of the relationships. I thought that Kirsten Dunst did a good job with her character, but I was more drawn to the character of Drew than Claire. I bought him, and I bought the relationships. I mean, I saw the things that reviewers didn't like; I saw the plot holes and the inconsistencies, but I was able to overlook them, because they weren't big enough to overshadow all the good, in my opinion. We must all think alike! What's next on your list to see? I want to see "Good Night and Good Luck" and "Shopgirl," and, of course, I can't wait for "RENT" to come out... what else? I can't think off the top of my head, but I know that there were a few coming up that I wanted to see.
from beautyawake :
Oh I completely disagree..... I also saw Elizabethtown this week (we acting bunch think alike, I saw it with Jen)and I thought Orlando was poor. Most definetely the worst performance of his career so far. I love Cameron Crowe and I agree there was a lot going on and it is a complete cousin to Garden State and of course there was an amazing soundtrack. I tolerated Kirsten Dunst but I was throughly disapointed in Orlando.... Comments back?
from starlight42 :
Found you through another diary I read and the whole Garden State design caught my eye! I love that movie. In fact, I think I need to go buy it. Anyway, your writing is quite interesting, so I'll be back. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
That Book Lust journal is very cool. I would like one of those very much. I will have to look into it when maybe I am making some actual money. :S I totally understand what you were saying about being so close to that guy on the train. I don't think that is creepy at all - I think it is very human to want contact and touch. Oh, I keep meaning to tell you - i picked up that book from chapters - The Child that books Built. and the funny thing is that I wasn't looking for it!I came across it, picked it up and thought hey, this looks neat and then after reading the book and looking at the author's name I realized it was the same one you read and said I would like. Weird, hey?? :P
from beautyawake :
Alida, I know that we always havent' been the best of friends and I know that we aren't going to be BFF, but having said all that, I hope you don't regret leaving and I am sure that that comment wasn't to me but I want you to know how proud I am of you. Leaving for NY to be a nanny isn't my cup of tea but it is totally yours and you should not feel guilty or ashamed in any way. You are not missing out here you are enjoying your new life someplace else. That is all no more no less. Enjoy being alone you have the rest of your life for coffee's and soul searching. Get out there and do what you came to NY to do. You have always talked about going to NY and you and I have had some talks so I know what I am talking about here. DON'T EVER LET ANYBODY ELSE MAKE YOU FEEL GUILTY FOR FOLLOWING YOUR DREAM. Lids, this is your life not theirs. You chose and sadly it wasn't them and clearly what they had to offer wasn't enough to keep you here. But don't let that stop you from having an amazing time in NY. Enjoy for the both of us and mostly just for you. I wouldn't choose what you did but really in the spirit of what you did I would have too. Have fun my friend. Email me sometime. Maybe this year we can do NANO together. Love, J
from lindzeeleigh :
Oh Narnia! I can't wait!!! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Oh wow. I am so glad you are all right Alida!! That is very scary and seems to be one of those things you just hear about happening to other people, but not to you. I am so happy you are safe and that you are an alive statistic as well. xoxo.
from unchallenged :
I truly appreciated your note. Thank you for it. It made my day! And I pray that God will do great things in your life.
from lindzeeleigh :
But think how cool it will be to tell everyone [even your kids!] that you LIVED in Nwe York. I bet not many people will be able to say that in their life times.
from lindzeeleigh :
Feel better soon! xoxo.
from lindzeeleigh :
Snob. Hehehe. Hope you got some other pics!! :)
from inaccordance :
Hi Alida, A very moving entry. Do I get to see you? It almost sounds like you are dying to here. An interesting concept. I hope to talk to you soon.
from lindzeeleigh :
Here is what I did when I left last summer: I hung out with all my friends and Ben a lot and didn't really change from my regular schedule. I wanted to spend as much time with everyone as I could, and yes it made it hard to say goodbye, but I don't think it would have been any less hard if I didn't spend all that time with them. I found the last few days to be very challenging and I was a wreck as well. It actually all didn't become real until I was really there and then lonliness sank in.... Know that you can do this Alida and it will be an amazing experience. Everyone will miss you and still be here [there??] when you get back! :) xoxo.
from lindzeeleigh :
I LOVE old school Jars of Clay!! Now you made me want to listen to it, I will have to go searching for it. :P And good luck with the thing you have got going on. I think the reason it seems more important lately is because you are preparing to leave and you want to go knowing "something" or having a sense of peace about things and right now you don't. Just my two cents! :P
from lindzeeleigh :
YAY for you maybe coming to visit Lindsay and I! I think that would be great. :) but you still didn't explain the cryptic entry?!
from lindzeeleigh :
Do tell more about the last entry....email me or I will see you on msn!! Is it what I think it is??
from peasantwench :
I get that, as I'm like that. I keep trying to read the classics (and I some times suceed - I read Pride and Prejudice this week) but mainly I read novels, novels and non-fiction stuff relating to my interests. No one around me understands how I have managed to read +115 books since January. Then again, I can't understand why none of them have read even one... Readers unite! No one else understands...
from peasantwench :
That's fabulous!! Congratulation. You must try not too get too busy with all the new and exciting things out there that you forget to tell us about it. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
CONGRATS [again]. You desreve it and it is going to be an amazing experience! p.s I do think I will require some boxes if you are able to collect some for me! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Sorry about last night. I already had plans and I didn't get home until after 9. Did you end up having a good evening? What other night can you get together? I can do something on the weekend if you are able to. Let me know what works for you! Only 23 days til I move!!
from lindzeeleigh :
So, what's the plan stan?? The weather is still not great, surprise, surprise, but I do believe that it has at least stopped pouring for the time being. Do you have any brilliant ideas as to what you would like to do? I am free tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday as well, so let me know if any of those days works for you and what you would like to do. :) Hope you had a lovely time visit with Kat.
from lindzeeleigh :
We should defnitely hang out! I am not sure which night, it doesn't really matter to me because I have no plans at all! I don't know about walking around Kensington or whatever though because I don't think it is ever going to stop raining here!! Yuck. I am getting a little tired of it. Hmm, what can we do instead? The usual coffee and Chapters, or?? Let me know! That is awesome that you are at Kat's!
from lindzeeleigh :
Oooh yes, I do believe i would love that book!! Who is the author, I want to check it out! :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Love the new layout, looks all summery and pretty. :)
from jazzua :
hey fullfilled, i read your profile and liked the sound of you... i too am weird with many weird and wonderful and sometimes downright scary thoughts. I'll leave you with a poem by William Carlos Williams: THIS IS JUST TO SAY I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold
from lindzeeleigh :
So when are we getting together??? Maybe next week?? Let me know when you are free. I am always pretty free on the week nights!
from lindzeeleigh :
I'll be your peer!!! :)
from sofanatical :
I like your layout, it's really organized. I read some of your entries i'm interested in them lol. I'm gonna add you.
from gonzostar :
i like the new layout a lot!
from lindzeeleigh :
Here is Shannon's site : http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=NotSoSunny :) It was fun at coffee the other night! YAY!
from cindreviews :
Cinderella Reviews is a brand new review site. So if you would like a review please come and check us out at http://cindreviews.diaryland.com/ . We hope to be hearing from you soon. Thank You!
from forestdream :
Hey there - just wanted to let you know that I've moved to wildforests.diaryland.com
from lindzeeleigh :
Hope you got my email and the pictures I sent along with it. :) I am sorry things are not going very well for you right now. :( If you want to talk or go out for coffee, let me know. I am free basically every evening, well because I really don't have much of a life.......on that note, have a great night!
from candoor :
through the inspiration of a random email (that lead me to think about alphabetical listings of diaries) I find myself here just in time to wish you a merry xmas (time being relative and all)... hope your day (and night) are smiling :)
from lindzeeleigh :
The countdown for two days is for what?? I am confused! And I would love to see your new ikea place! When are we going to get together next?? Next time you are online I will send you some pics of Lindsay and I and Skylar. :)
from inaccordance :
Howdy. I just read the note you left me complimenting me on my whiteheads. Thank You. Next time I squeeze one I will send the remnants your way. Love You!
from lindzeeleigh :
Merry Christmas, Alida! It sounds like you had a great time being Mary. I think that is pretty cool. :) I hope you have lots of fun with your family and enjoy the time off, you deserve it! So what are your big plans for the new year? I hope we can get together!
from lindzeeleigh :
i love how you always write that you love your job. That is encouraging to hear, because not many people can actually say that. I honestly, can't even say that a lot of the time.....damn politics! :P Good luck with your novel, I know it will be awesome.
from gonzostar :
do you post your nano novel anywhere? i'm a big chick lit fan, and i like to read my friends novels. :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Love the new template. Very Alida. I had some food from the big Q today and it was tasty. I thought of you. How is Plan B? And which one is Plan B? I know I know, well at least I think I know....but then again maybe I just think that I know I know?? You know? :P LoL. xoxo.
from peasantwench :
And when you go back, you find yourself looking at the faces, doing double takes when it turns out that's NOT Dave, or Sue or Sally. Because for a second there, it looks like it must be...
from lindzeeleigh :
Husband envy. You know I LOVE that!!! What a great term. I shall be using it. :P
from yvette18 :
yeah that is some good work talk though. Assistant manager sounds really cool. I bet you are happy that you are able to get full time, or close it more hours starting in sept. That is really great.
from lindzeeleigh :
Yleck, now there is a great word! I can totally hear you saying it. Hahaha. I was sad to hear that your gym bag was stolen. :( Especially about your journal because that is irreplaceable. People are so cruel sometimes. I mean, maybe they needed shoes or a shirt or something, but someone else's diary??? :(
from lindzeeleigh :
Okay, what in the hell are you talking about, Alida??? :P Your writing is so cryptic sometimes that you drive me mad. You say enough to make me wonder and get all interested and then leave me hanging. What was up with the night playing DDR, who were you with? You are totally keeping secrets from me!!! And I am whining like I am 12 years old. Hahahaha. Anyways, let me know what's up if you feel so inclined. :)
from yvette18 :
good luck on the house thing, I hope you guys get it. It really sounds like a nice house, and you, rebecca, and your kitties can all live together, really fun. *smile*
from yvette18 :
I think trying a dorito will be great, it probably will smell worse though than a mrs. vikki's chip. I put a chocolate chip cookie to warm in the microwave for 50 seconds, and i burned it. whew, smelled so charred, I did not mean to though.
from lindzeeleigh :
How come you are acting like a 15 year old?? :P I like to know things like this! And I totally know what you mean about not going back to school in the fall, I was the same way when I finished in December. I was like, okay, what now?? And since it took me so long to find a job I felt very out of place and at a loss as to what I was to do. I am confident that you will find a great job soon and many opportunities will open up for. I look forward to seeing you next week sometime. I hope you can pop by our new place at some point or what we can get together for dinner or coffee. Let me know what works for you!! :)
from yvette18 :
yeah glad that you had a great time once again, I know how it feels to be happy to be home for a certain amount of time. But this is trip that you are going to remember for the rest of your life.
from elliorange :
Your entries make me smile. :)
from elliorange :
*big smiles* Thank you!
from lindzeeleigh :
so is this a whole new opportunity? Or the onw i was aware of before? I definitely don't know about the second one, so you will have to fill me in!!! I hope that no matter what happens that you are happy and that it is something you really want to do. :)
from suggest :
you've been suggested as a great diary :)
from lindzeeleigh :
I LOVE those sculptures. They are really beautiful. I really like that sort of things as well, but you are right, they are very $$$ and we all know that I am short of money these days because I am trying to save up so I can buy things for our new place. [which we still don't have yet, by the way!!] LoL. I hope you are having a great time. Take care.
from peachick :
thanks for having me as a favourite :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Congrats to Kat and Christian! That is exicitng. :) How goes the possible/maybe exciting news for you in your life??? I still feel in the dark, LoL!!
from lindzeeleigh :
I CANNOT believe they voted LaToya off either!!! What a joke. They seriously are dumb. She was the one I wanted to win. I can barely stand to watch that show anymore. It is too aggravating and Americans obviously can't see talent when it is right in front of their faces!! At any rate, thanks for the good luck vibes about the job, I will be sure to keep you updated about it. Who knows what will happen?? I sometimes get the feeling like everyone is more excited about it than me. Oh well, whatever is supposed to happen, will. Hope you are having a good Friday! I have to work from 2:30 til close [whenever that is....] Talk soon!
from lindzeeleigh :

I am getting my mom a hanging basket, you know one of those ones that flowers are in? She loves them. And what the hell is going on with you girl??? You totally have me wondering and guessing!! [Was that your intention??] I have some ideas.....let me know when you know more. Talk soon. ♥
from msnotsoright :
wow I love your diary... this is a very simple note but I honestly mean what I said.
from lindzeeleigh :
What's with the Thursday Threesome wedding type questions?? [old, new, borrowed, blue.......ugh, SICK!!!]. Not that I am against weddings or anything......perhaps it is a bit of the green eyed monster rearing its ugly head??? And I forgot that I wrote that bit about the job being three and a half hours away!!! LoL. I am such a nerd!! For real. :P
from lindzeeleigh :
You are so right. The phone interview is for the job in Calgary, there is no fooling you! LoL. :P Wish me luck! ♥
from peasantwench :
"I don't know. Too many big decisions. Too much to know right now. I want all the answers too fast. I want to see the whole picture as soon as I start painting, and I can't. I want to know the end before I start planning the beginning, and I have to just learn to take that first step, and go from there." <-- that's IT! That's EXACTLY it. Thank you for putting to words what I've been feeling.
from lindzeeleigh :
Yay for <b>not</b> being married! I think it is great that we both finished school and all that jazz before getting married. Well, I suppose I never really had the opportunity to get married like you did, but just the same, I like that we stuck with something and finished it. It feels good to say that, because you are right, I have friends who are married that say they want to go back to school, but the chances of that are slim to none. I am glad that I can say I have a degree. Now if only we could get a good job?? And the marriage will fall in place somewhere along the way......Somewhere.
from peasantwench :
I love the new layout. Only wish the words were big enough to read on my comp...
from lindzeeleigh :
Love the Layout! Beeyooteeful!! I also love e.e. cummings. He rocks. and so do you, my almost graduate! Now, if we could only snag ourselves some jobs........
from peasantwench :
Hope you feel better soon. It sucks that it had to happen at this time of year when there is stuff all sorts of things that need to be done and all the Graduation Stress. Happy birthday!
from peasantwench :
I think Super Drug Mart is open in North Hill mall 24/7. They have cereal and stuff. Not so sure about the milk though...
from lindzeeleigh :
p.s. in regards to the secret keeping entry about me, you wouldn't believe how many people came to my diary because you linked me!! Hehe. I think they were hoping to find out what the secre was in my diary or something. No such luck there. My last entry was in fact, quite boring. I bet they were so disappointed. LoL. :)
from peasantwench :
Ooh, crap. Theatre... So um, break a leg. But not luck. Um. Oops?
from peasantwench :
Good luck tomorrow!!
from peasantwench :
Nope. It's not just you. I too have conversations in my head allllll the time. Except it's more like scripts, as I think in words, in paragraphs. Sometimes I even think of punctuation. So I guess I crazy too...
from bassclargrrl :
psst...two r's. no i.
from plastictape :
awesome.
from peasantwench :
Reading week flew by like a speeding train. I wish it was longer. :(
from molzo :
I know you're my santa, and I know you mailed it out already...but when? It hasn't arrived. I need to know to which address you sent it and which carrier you used.
from lindzeeleigh :
Ummm, what are you gushing about? I don't get it. I am so confused. Your entry is entirely too vague for my satisfaction!! What's going on?? Please enlighten me?? :)
from yvette18 :
hey there, this is yvette18 from the spark just saying hello. I am going to be a good sparkler, and get to know my fellow spark members better.
from kaylove17 :
this is prettykay, i have a new diary.
from lindzeeleigh :
I would love to read the email you wrote to Jen!!! You shouldn't have even asked! :) I like to be kept up to date you know! LoL. Send it to me when you get a second. Good luck on the papers!
from lindzeeleigh :
Awww, thanks, Alida! You were beautiful as well and I loved hearing you play the piano. Thanks so much for your help on the weekend. We couldn't have done it without you. It was awesome to hang out with you this weekend.I am still tired from the wedding. There is no time for sleep though, I am at work and I am trying to write my lesson plan for tomorrow. Fun times. Chat soon. <3

from diarytag :
Tag From Jelibeary! Tag Your It! My question for you is.... I see that you are a Believer, I was just wondering if you have seen a miracle small or large in your life and if not do you believe in miracles?
from leegro :
hey, i saw an add for your play the other day, at i believe Christian Publications. anyways, i totaly want to see it, but forget what day and time. if you could let me know, that would be rad. thanks.
from keryanna :
Boned strapless bra. Oh sweetie, I feel your pain.
from leegro :
i fully agree with your thoughts on your entry "i want to be the one to grow old with you". very insightfull and wise. from a guys perspective, it is a rad feeling to sleep(minus sex) with a girl. But temptations are spawned from doing so, whether initial intensions were pure or not. So preach on sister, i agree.
from peasantwench :
Thanks. And yes, the place you sent me to was perfect. The journal is perfect for travel - spiral bound, no lines, all the pages designed to look like european air mail letters... Muchas gracias!
from over-now :
thank you for the kind words. i'm sorry it took me so long to respond. notes like yours mean a lot to me. thank you for the encouragement. hope to hear from you soon dear. xo.
from peasantwench :
One other thing - where did you get your paper journal from? I know that you mentioned it a few months ago, but I'll admit to being to lazy to look though months of journals tonight. I need one for Mexico and I'm looking for The One. Thanks.
from leegro :
merry christmas
from leegro :
nice festive theme. you might have compelled me to get into the spirit of Christmas, and change my looks(of my journal i mean, the last thing we need is a leegro dressed up as a christmas tree or reindeer). well, god bless and dude have a most excellent season.
from godzgirlz :
Great site... Nice to see someone as in love with God's purpose and He Himself..Peace/Be blessed:)

I was encouraged by the note you wrote me. Look forward to reading your diary. What I write in diaryland is first written in LiveJournal. My user name in LJ is "crookedfingers"-it is best to read my diary in LiveJournal. Jonny "glorycloud"

nay only do we have a mutual friend, or we avid mutual "oi" users, mutual clive staple junkies, but also a mutual written(and possibly audible) "meh" to shrug things off users. wow, long lost cousin i believe, or we just straight edge geeks? be blessed.
from inaccordance :
Hi Alida. I signed up. Sigh. It's like a vortex. I knew it was calling to me. I love ya and I appreciate you.
from leegro :
hey, thanks for the note. about the silent planet triology, im encouraged to hear you enjoyed, cause im right in the middle of perelandra right now. and most definetly agree about c.s being one of the all time greats. its crazy, i own over 20 of his books, but still haven't read his most popular ones: screwtape letters, and mere christianity. no particular reason why i havent, actually baffles me why ive held off so long. About our mutual friend daryl, oi nothing but good things to say about him as well. He goes to my church wednesday night at Jubilee Christian Center, we used to be in a band together, and he is all around one of my favorite guys to share emotional concerns and feelings(in my books he's the humanitarian of the century). Oi, we are darn lucky being friends with him eh. I'm assuming you go to Foothills, because I know he does, and just props to your church. I've been a couple times and its rad. Anyways, enough rambling, and ya, i make online devotionals and its wierd cause this week i actualy used some cs lewis stuff, its my favorite piece satirical writing from him. i'll send thru email. Peace.
from exasperated :
Hey! I appreciate the note you left me. I've read through a few of your entries and I definitely see myself coming back in the future. On top of it all, I like your layout, too. That image is pretty nifty. Anyway, it's good to see there are God-fearing people out there in Diaryland :)
from smushy :
I was flipping thru old GB entries and I noticed one from you. I am so sorry i didn't come by earlier! I just wanted to let you know that I love your layout. The picture is great!

You believe in God, right? Now imagine, for a moment, that you came across undeniable, unrefutable proof that your religion is wrong, that there is no God or such like being. It is such that it is *undeniable*. How would you live with this? What core beliefs disappear and with them gone, what do you think would take their place? Could you recover from such a shock? Would you be less kind, less happy, less loving? Would you feel free or lost? Would you want to live at all?

in the midst of dream and fantasy, half way there. but he always fill my cup, and he lifts me up, oh how he lifts me up... i like your diary...stumbled apon it through i route i'm sure doesnt matter. the entire purpose of this note was to reflect on the beauty of that song...i'm glad you chose it...anyways i am too tired to make sense. goodbye, goodbye. walk away its time to say goodbye. peter
