Wow. This note is just after reading your entry about the atheist's comment. Wow. That brought tears to my eyes. Perhaps they are tears of shame. Wow.
from bornconfus3d :
I recently logged onto my account after a long hiatus and wanted to thank you for the nice comment. Better things have already come. Sooner rather than later. Hopefully these are not my glory days, but they aren't exactly hell either. But thank you for the encouraging words. -Mav

Singing at church? Good on you!! Let us know how that went. What are you singing?

You took your tree down on Christmas Day? Wow... We always left our's up until New Year's day... Not sure when mine will come down this year. If you follow the 12 Days Of Christmas, then the tree comes down on like January 6th, I believe. I live in a village where more than half are Serbian, so it's Christmas around here until at least January 7th, is it? Anyhoo, Merry christmas! Hope you all were able to avoid the grass fires out that way! Posted December 27, 2005

"Escape goat???" BAHAHAHA....I swear the world gets "dumber" by the minute.

You have done a great job of turning something horrible into a way to spread God's grace. What a great post! I have never understood the Catholic stance that suicide means automatic hell. But I agree that it has to be a sin, because it is a murder, even if only against yourself. But God (those are two of my favorite words in the Bible) doesn't (just as you said) judge us on our final act, or even any of the acts in between. We are judge only on a single act, that of accepting or rejecting the sacrifice of Christ. You rock, Hattaway! Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful family!

hi! I started reading ages ago... until you locked your journal. Is there a way I can be a member or something and get to see it? I always thought your stuff was very inspirational and I LOVED reading about your day to day life with your child. I would really like to reconnect with your journal if you wouldn't mind. My email is [email protected] if you want to check the validity of me being me. -- jenny

I LOVE when stores do triple coupons. Though I have to admit, I'm more prone to buy things I don't need right away, due to the couponing. It usually works out very well for me. I have a little bit of space to store extra goods. You should see my moms basement. I joke with her about "going shopping" down there. She seriously has shelving lining the entire back room (that room is probably about 40 feet long). I learned from a master lol!
from musicman6724 :
I'll tell you who's coming up with all this stuff...all those people who have graduated over the past ten years who can't even read their diplomas...that's who! Seriously!!

I think the "in our thoughts" thing is what people say when they don't pray. I mean, obviously, if they dont pray or don't necessarily believe in 1 or many higher powers, why would they pray. Being in someones thoughts, in my opinion, can be as good as what you consider prayer. Someone is thinking "i hope X is ok today. i hope they are safe" etc. If there is a higher power, even though he isn't directly summoned, don't you feel he'd be inclined to listen? Even if it was just "a thought". Just my 2 cents, of course.

hahahahahahaha i love the conversation with yahoo helpless lol

Hmm...password locked. I haven't read in a while. What's up?
from polly-esther :
I'm having some weird Las Vegas hits on my diary and nobody but me has the password. Did you by chance give it to someone? PLEASE let me know.
from polly-esther :
Well, he's the HR guy for Greenspun Media Group, which includes the paper, magazines, websites, etc.
from polly-esther :
Laura, thanks for the message. I was referring to someone in particular with the arrogant/ignorant comment. She skims my diary from time to time then feels she knows more about my life than I do. I guess that's a chance I take in having an online diary but it still makes me mad. By the way, that's pretty cool that you saw the Sixteen Candles bedroom! A few years ago I bought a copy of that script at a memoribilia shop in Hollywood for $10. I love that movie.
from jelligyrl :
hey what's with the locking??????? email me! hope all is well. :)
from polly-esther :
i noticed your diary is locked. i hope everything is okay!
from polly-esther :
Sorry for the typos in my guestbook message!

My take on all this, and you aren't going to like it, is that you've put everyone else first for so long that, that you don't really have a clear picture of who you are anymore. Sure, you are Daphne's mother, Ken's wife, and God's servant, but who are YOU alone? I've known you in some capacity for about what, 3-4 years now, and I've seen you slip away, as an individual, for quite some time, for whatever reason. Maybe they were good reasons, and maybe it makes you 100% happy, but now judging by your entry, it hasn't... Try to figure out who you are singly, as a person, and what you want, and try to not let everyone else dictate your wants/needs for you. Just my 2 cents obviously...IM me if you want more... :-)
from grazia77 :
Hey there. Congratulations on receiving your first check as a professional writer. Does this make you a "veteran" now?
from ariawoman :
Now you can hang out with Angela :-) She's in the Dallas area as well... congratulations to Ken, and I wish you all the best.

Laura, Even the most awesome moms (ie: you) have times like that. Little D loves her mommy, and theres no doubt that she knows you love her too. If I had a dollar for everytime I felt like I had to (and did...) grab Matt and yell in his face to get my point a cross.. phew boy. I was always afraid to tell anyone that I would do that too, I'd be scared I'd get in trouble or something. Anyway, I don't know if it's a consolation (ha! I looked it up on Dictionary.com!) or anything but I know what your going through. I love reading your stories and hearing about her development. She's smarter at two than I am at 25! Yay you! Much love! Miss You! -Jade

Hey, I love that Superchick song. In fact, I love Superchick. They have a lot of great songs. I think that's an excellent choice for you to play for Daphne as she grows up. Be sure and throw a little Darlene Zschech in the mix, too!
from jelligyrl :
I've got the address. You're despammed. :) What time Sunday??
from jelligyrl :
You're welcome for the stuff. I'm going through my things now and there just may be some more. I"ll keep you posted. :)

I love the pics of Daphne and the Pooh book. That is so adorable!! Giving the book a turn. Heehee... Brightened my morning a bit. Thanks.

I'm glad you're still going with the diary. I love being able to catch up with you. Miss you and my heart child greatly. Much love! Jade

"being hired by Potlatch" It all comes back to 'Pella... did you know that on one episode of WITWICS, "Potlatch" is the word on the street?? True story. -Amy
from klif :
regarding children lying: I'd say BOTH you and the article are correct, given differing situations. Ask a toddler directly what he has or has not done, and if he lies it's as you suggest; he doesn't like the consequences. However, ask a toddler about something entirely different ("What song did they just sing on 'Sesame Street'?") and I'd say the article hit the nail right on the head!
from asinglegirl :
I do SO love the way that you write. You keep me entranced the entire time it takes me to read your entries.
from nairne :
Just thought I'd pop in and say that I am in love with your diary. Yep. That's all. Okaybye!
from musicman6724 :
I can certainly identify with you about the party thing. My wife and I are both that way. We just kind of circle around, eavesdropping on various conversations, but never really entering any of them. We just aren't "party" people. We like small gathering with maybe one or two, at most, other couples and their kids (if any). I don't think there's anything wrong with you. You just have different priorities. My wife and I would just rather be together.
from asinglegirl :
Ratties are the best! My cats would think so too, for all of an hour, or else I'd get some and build this huge tunnel system throughout my apartment and let them run all over the place and it would just be fantastic. Then again, after a month I'd probably end up with 37 baby rats.
from hope-street :
I've been in the habbit lately of clicking on banners and leaving really random messages for people on their message board but I saw the picture of you and your baby and I just wanted to tell you it was the cutest thing ever!! Have a good day :)
from ldybug1113 :
you remind me of what i sound like in my head. hehe, thanks. kate
from rachimal :
found you through your banner... I think that some research is totally needed. Dump that agent, I think you're getting screwed :S
from asinglegirl :
Oh, I definitely need to catch up on your archives. You have a fantastic story!
from flyinby :
i love the banner! what is she doing, scrubbing the carpet? what was on it? what's the story behind the picture? the picture is worth a thousand words, tho! too cute, too familiar. once they get older they won't clean up after themselves so easily. they will spend 24 hours screaming and crying about it first. lol
from harpom :
Boo! :) I will leave you a note! I hope you have a great weekend, and a very nice Holiday! Don't forget to Thank A Vet! That is SO important! Thank you for always being able to help me out, or listen, or whatever. I am so glad we are friends!
from hattaway :
Hi, me! 'Tis I! I just set up the notes and feel badly that no one has signed yet. So, I just thought I'd stop by for some encouragement dispensing. Keep up the great work! People are reading your boring diary and no one knows why, but something is working. Hugs and... well, not really, but you know.
