| You know what I think? Bad choices, good intentions. It seems that you might fall into the category of the BestFriend and me...the lesbian hero complex. It's not that we think we're superwomen, but we are drawn to women in bad situations. Sometimes, they appear to be perfectly fine at first, though this one with the psycho girlfriend? Yeah, you want to show her that she deserves and can have more. The problem is that women who stay with people like that aren't ready to learn that. We'll give until we have nothing left, and they may even take for a while, but they don't stay bc they don't truly know it on their own, and they only want a therapist when it's convenient and things are bad...when they need someone to sympathize with their bad situations. What you need is someone who thinks she could be great for you. I only say this because it hasn't happened to me, and I think that's what we need. If someone thinks they're great and can help *us*, and we're such born givers, then maybe somehow we'll get some sort of balance or appreciation, at least. | Hey! Yeah, I didn't even know Ani had a new album at first. I went to vh1.com to find all the radio stations you can listen to, and there she was on their main page! I was so happy when I got to listen to the whole thing right there!! I have Educated Guess (shh, don't tell the music police) and love Bliss Like This so much! My life for the past month (and I have the aways to prove it, damned women!) has felt very Done Wrong, Reckoning, Letting the Telephone Ring, Willing to Fight, and damn those Sunday Mornings! It's ridiculous how much I still want someone who probably doesn't deserve me at all. I have a good amountof Beatles, too. The anthologies, maybe 3 or 4 albums,...good stuff! I'm more in need of the "you've fucked me over" women at the moment though. Haha But yes, have fun. That's what I kept having to tell myself whenever I was afraid I was getting in too deep. Be careful, realize you might not get the same from her, and pull back a bit. (that's what I did, not saying that applies to you) It worked every time, but I didn't have the energy to keep pulling myself back all the time...I don't think relationships are supposed to take that much guarding. Anyway, I'll tell you what everyone keeps telling me since I'm finally going *away* to school again in the fall. Don't worry about it, there are plenty of women there no matter what. You're young, take advantage of your freedom. (I'm such a girl, I just want commitment and happiness, no matter how much I wish I could be like Shane. The L Word! One thing I suggest for you to do as a reviewer is point out specific spelling and grammar mistakes if you claim the other person has them. Otherwise, it's information that you can't put into use. Forgive me if I'm out of place saying this, but I noticed you requested diary reviews yourself so I figured you won't mind my input. But your diary doesn't exhibit this 'depth' you claim to love and have. Chatting about friend's daily lives, your social life, your favorite musicians, tooth aches, and bug problems is the sort of trivial content you say you hate. | Okay, I guess to make it more clear I should have said I meant, what OTHERS, perceptions of me are... My old freinds or work associates know me as straight. So in their eyes I am straight. My more current friends see me as bisexual. Or else they seem me as crazy girl who does whatever she wants! If you don't know me and you meet me in a lesbian bar then as far as you know I am completely lesbian... I never let anyone I meet in a bar know anything about me that is too personal, like where I live, where I work, etc. Too many stalkers or worse. So while to me, I am just me, to others I walk in three different world. Straight, bi and lesbian. Whatever. I have a straight guy friend who is as he says, "terminally hetero". To militant gay and lesbians he would be considered a homophobe. But to someone at work he is "who knows what" he never talks about his dates or ANYTHING about his personal life at work. He says it is no one's business. At work he is defined by the quality of his work. Isn't that a better way to be? Wouldn't you rather be the thoroughly competent worker than "the lesbian" worker? Wouldn't you rather be known for your clean and organized work space than for your rainbow decorations or Bush/Cheney bumper sticker (whatever the case may be)? |
