God, there's nothing I hate more than random people signing your shit and saying the most ignorant, ill-informed things, and they never leave their actual names, so that you can't track them down and tell them to their faces that they're wrong. Someone really needs a social life, I think. P.S. - I'm glad you and Courtney are still fabulous. Good for you!
from mirrizimm :
Blech. $140/ticket cheapest. I don't think it's happening. Bah humbug. Death to the tiny Colorado Convention Center.
from mirrizimm :
Seriously? This is very cool. Wow. I've been complaining about the lack of concerts and today I find out Alix Olson AND IG are coming. It's not up on their site, though, so I'm wondering where you heard. And if you know the venue. Must get tickets. Now. I'm not going to screw it up this time! (thanks!)
from furiouspuppy :
Hi! I dig your diary and am adding you too! I think that you may hate me because I don't know a single IG song...*hangs her head in shame*
from devian :
thank you baby! i changed it!!! :)
from juli-anne :
Oh wow, that's really creepy about your neighbor doing that! That's 100 times worse than my friend sleeping in my bed. (well sort of friend) Arrrgggg!!
from devian :
hey sweetpea...how do you say: devian's opium den in japanese?
from juli-anne :
Thanks for adding me to your favorites!! I've started to read your diary and have enjoyed it immensly so far, so I must read more. I hope you enjoy reading me as much as I like reading you. :)
from devian :
happy holidays, m'sweet baby!
from kissoncheek :
Merry Christmas to you too!! Have a nice holiday with your loved one & eat some extra cookies for me!
from devian :
i'm glad you like the new layout. i'm feeling very high and mighty at the moment--very chic and jackie o. i love needles and giving blood, i just hate that they don't want me to. it's stupid but i'm not going to lie to save someone's life. if they want my blood, they wouldn't alientate me.
from devian :
hey darling precious angel. april isn't that far away and you'll be bombarded with my bizillion quetions about everything SF-related in no time at all.
from kissoncheek :
Sadly, I think the whole gov't monitering thing is already happening, just quietly, so we don't really know about it yet. On two separate occasions I've seen someone lingering with a pen and a pad behind my car, when I asked them what they were doing, they replied that they were taking down my liscense plate ID. Both times I told them I was privately listed at the MVA, neither seemed to care. (In Maryland you can go to the MVA with someone's tag #s and pay $2 to get their personal info- address, phone, etc, unless they are listed as private) I'm positive it was because of my bumper stickers. "Women are great leaders- you're following one" "The last time we mixed religion and politics people were burned at the stake" and "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities" Unfortunately, I think we are entering the beginning of a very scary time.
from kissoncheek :
The secret to finishing your Christmas shopping this early is to order everything off of amazon.com and get the free shipping, which you can do because they now sell freakin EVERYTHING. The other secret is to hoard craft supplies year round so you can make really snazzy things at Christmas time for the people who rate higher than the store-bought-somethings. There is also massive amounts of baking involved, which I'm sure I'll be fussing about in a few weeks. But I am done with the mall and battling the prozac doped soccer moms for items they really don't want but have to have just because you saw them first, which of course prompts them to shove their stroller full of 3 or 4 kids in front of you, effectively blocking you from the item in question and aslo causing you to trip and scare the bejesus out of their kids- screaming ensues, from all parties involved. So, yes, no more of that!
from rachel-what :
Hey asshole i'm homophobic. and i'm a damn girl.
from kissoncheek :
I just stumbled upon your diary tonight. What a great layout. It motivated me to put on the live recording of "Mystery" and remember my college days, living in a space smaller than a closet and waking up to my roommate singing that song.
from devian :
oh, spikey--you're coming to my rescue! that is so hot! (courtney, don't get jealous, i just want to BORROW spike, you can have her back when i'm done!) seriously though, that is so sweet :) i love ya!
from devian :
darling, i don't know where i'll be living--that's why i need your help! :) this isn't going to be until mid-april, so in march i'll start looking! :)
from devian :
hey spike--guess what? we're moving to OAKLAND! maybe we can be neighbors!
from iamhubpluh :
If you are voting AGAINST Bush, check out http://BADNARIK.com he is for 100% EQUALITY right for the Gay/Lesbian community as well as for stoping the war in Iraq, and NOT sending more troops as Kerry is for (based on his debate answers). Vote your heart, not the less of two evils!
from devian :
spike, email me at: [email protected] when you get back from your little getaway. i need to ask your advice about some areas near you! :)
from sasori-gal :
Thanks for leaving me such a nice comment, adding me to your list and introducing me to your diary. I still have so much to catch up on, but I'm fascinated with all your adventures and I admire people like you who know how to LIVE life! You've got me hooked! :)
from devian :
oh, i'm not sure the exact date--it depends on a couple factors, but in the near future (the most, a year) and it will be in the "area", not the city (we is too po).
from granolaspice :
Best of Luck, girl! Best of luck!
from catinasnit :
The show was powerful! There was a 20 minute slide presentation on the importance of voting -- voting as a democrate was stressed. The girls were, as always, such excellent sports; played their hearts out. Amy kept talking about how much she LOVED Eureka Springs and wondered why in the world they had never been there before. She promised they would be back. I certainly hope so; only a 40 minute drive for me. We actually got follow their bus (with its Georgia licence plate) out of Eureka, how awsome is that? LOVE IT.
from catinasnit :
"a quick glance, a big chance my heart beat like a drum, i saw you and i knew chances just don't come round again not like this first a laugh then the kiss and i'm free in you, i've got no worries on my mind, i know what to do that's to treat you right and love you kind thank you ever on my mind love is just like breathing when it's true and i'm free in you" ~~ I was just listening to that song as I was returning from work, then it went into Perfect World. Could barely bring myself to turn off the car.~~ IGs will be in Eureka Springs, AR tomorrow along with Ani DeFranco. So excited am I -- yes I am!
from mirrizimm :
Kate Clinton says that the L-Word doesn't do Butch/Femme, it does Hepburn. Audrey or Katherine?
from mirrizimm :
Cute. You look genuinely happy (gee, I wonder why...).
from excogitate :
Where in russia are you going? You are so lucky!
from catinasnit :
WAX BUSH -- got the brown one with green letters. SHOCKING!
from mirrizimm :
Awesome.
from catinasnit :
I knew I had seen your site before (I remember the IG picture on your web page). But thank you for adding me to your buddy list. I'll add yours to mine. The IG songs flow through my head constantly (and in my car's CD player). Their music actually SAYS SOMETHING. My two daughters like them too. My daughter kidspinkcat.diaryland.com is probably more your age. I ALSO HAVE WATERSHED. Isn't it fun?! Can't believe I didn't know about them until I heard them play a song called Galileo on a compiled folk-rythum, and blues CD. I was hooked! My husband and I finally got to see them in Memphis in May this past April. They are going to be in Eureka Springs, AR this month. Got tickets already -- sold out. No Doubt! ***** Anyway, have fun with your fun new (loaned) Volvo and don't let your redneck neighbors get too close.
from devian :
spikey spike-spike--do you mean it? i can't wait to hang out with you and one of my most favorite people on this god-forsaken planet--miss vitamin c pussycunt esquire IV.
from devian :
i'm gay and i love bingo! i never win...one time, i was ONE number away from coverall and some 80-year old whore won instead of me! you better believe i let her have it!!!! bitch!!!
from devian :
what i like most about that fortune was it didn't say to NOT USE glass dildos--it simply said to beware of them...we didn't want people to feel like we were TELLING them what to do. we are people who believe in choice! <3
from devian :
i LOVE the avatar! and your kitty is so cute! frisco looks a lot like scarlett, i wonder if they're related!
from devian :
well, i'm glad you got such joy from my avatar! isn't it too much? don't you love the cat? i love it because my cat scarlett is a little black kitty just like that one and i'm always holding her! <3
from devian :
have you ever seen a banranku puppet performance? the college i worked at in mass (UMass Amherst) works very closely with the University of Hokkaido. they came to visit and treated us to a banranku puppet performance...it was the most beautiful thing i'd ever seen and i cried like a baby. you would not think puppetry could be so moving.
from devian :
i've always wanted to go to japan...i studied japanese for a bit and forgot most of it! i worked for a company (the japanese version of fedex) and some of my co-workers taught me. they gave me workbooks and dictionaries and praciticed with me all the time...i love the language and a lot of my friends i worked with have since moved back to tokyo. we should plan a trip at the same time!
from smokeshack :
oh lord--yes, please come down to socal and see why i fear kerry WON'T win. but you know where i saw the most PRO-BUSH bumper stickers? NEW HAMPSHIRE! i officially hate new hampshire now.
from smokeshack :
i was hoping you'd see the humor and not get grossed out or offended! i'm very sensitive about the artists i love. i was so tempted because i do believe my cousin would have encased it in a plastic orb and put it into a time capsule.
from smokeshack :
it's a long rambling story, so i'll post it in my diary for you! :)
from smokeshack :
you know, i had a funny IG story that i totally forgot about. i will tell you when i meet you because it needs to be said in person. the effect is lost over the net. i love San Fran so i will also zip up there to hang out with you crazy kids.
from smokeshack :
you love IG like i love Phish--only now I have no vacations to plan around them since they broke up!
from mommylap :
how sweet are you to add me on your list!! I was just reading your diary grinning ear to ear everytime I read the phrase "my girlfriend" because how COOL is your girlfriend? So freaking cool. I'm so happy you saw each other this weekend.
from smokeshack :
oh darling--you added me! i've been reading you--did you know? i'm shy though (obviously!) but it's very nice to make your aquaintance! i don't know many indigo girls songs...but i'm sure you and vitamin c (courtney) will fill me in!
from mirrizimm :
Yeah. Wow. That makes us two positive kiddies! What fun! I think this calls for champagne...or perhaps tequilla. Ha.
from hothead :
thanks for the note. i've got some prospects going and am just generally keeping my fingers crossed. "Lucystoners" is going round and round in my head: "Ain't no man could ever own her." peace - and happy belated birthday!
from mirrizimm :
Aw, thanks so much! You're so sweet. Definitely try to come to michigan next year. It's a blast.
from mirrizimm :
Thanks! (the owner of Mishawaka has a pretty shitty reputation...just be glad you didn't get rained out, because that was a rainy week) Your description of the tour glowed, dear. I'm smiling for you.
from fargahar :
Hi there... LOL!
from hothead :
thanks :) ps...sing along for me.
from mirrizimm :
I'm going to say that I will be at Mishawaka, even though I was a dumbass (yell at me, because I deserve it) and am going to have to get tickets "second hand" because I waited too long. Rest assured that I will find a way or die.
from nypizzas2 :
You're shitting me about only being 5', right? You look a lot taller in the pics you shared with us all! Rock on shortie! Short people 4 life.
from granolaspice :
Hi there! Just wanted to say a big "thanks" for adding me to your list of lists! Looking forward to reading more of your diary! ~gS~
from parlance :
Ohmy, sounds fun.
from excogitate :
Thanks for staying with me! Still love your diary!
from indigo-life :
Hi Spike. A series of ridiculous events conspired to make it impossible for me to get tickets for the Denver Botanic Gardens shows in July. If you still have those extra tickets for one of the shows, I would love to buy them. I'll pay you extra! Please let me know if you would be willing to sell me the tickets. Thank you! [email protected]
from indigo-life :
Hi. I just set up a diaryland profile so that I could try to get in touch with you. I love your diary - and I couldn't agree more with so many of the things you said about the Indigo Girls. I feel so validated! I, too, have spent the last few days absolutely freaking out about the private concert in my home town (Denver). I've been calling the radio station, the club where they are playing, and any other number I can think of to try to get a ticket. I didn't win tickets from the radio station itself, and I can't imagine not going to this show. Like you, I've been a fan since 1989, and have never missed a show in my hometown. I will be completely crushed if I do not find a way to get in to this show! I know that you have been sworn to secrecy - but, can you give a desperate fellow-fan any hints about how you were able to get into the show the other night? Anything at all that you could suggest would be so greatly appreciated. I am so sad at the idea of not being able to go... If you can suggest anything, I will be in your debt. Thank you! Caroline ([email protected])
from fargahar :
Thanks...I was glad too. I debated whether or not to call her right away but then I figured she'd find out eventually and I knew she'd be pissed at her mom. So we are going to spend our "anti" Christmas together getting wasted watching cheesy Christmas movies. So in the end it is good I guess. :)
from polishstreak :
Love, love, LOVE Naomi Wolf-- Read Promiscuities when I was 16 or 17, and from that point on have been a complete geek when it comes to feminist, or political writing of any kind, actually. Check out Camille Paglia if you haven't yet. Thanks for signing my guestbook. :) Later skater. SEB
from fargahar :
Good. I was trying to note you somehow earlier so I could tell you how crazy that was and how insanely jealous I am. IG and MM in the same night. And I love MM's song Camera. It is my favorite. I saw her at the Seattle show and immediately fell in love, bought the album and it has not left my CD player since. I cannot believe how crazy that was and damn that was huge. I am so happy for you and was so excited for you while I was reading it. I so wish I could have been there because it is totally awesome. I need to stop rambling but that is just too awesome. I AM GREEN (literally) with ENVY!
from finding-home :
Hey! :) Thanks for signing my diary, I love to hear from people who stop by. Yes, I love Erin Mckeown! But sadly, I haven't yet heard that CD. I got all of her music from the Net, because they don't sell it around here. I also love the Indigo Girls, and have plenty of their songs. Anyway, talk to you later :)
