Where is clarity25? Recent vacation blog - http://twoshotsoftequila.blogspot.com/ "Eric's" Photobucket account - http://s795.photobucket.com/home/sketchbookshark/index
from theflyingrat :
Aww, those pictures are all so sweet. You have a beautiful family. I miss being a "diarylander" a lot of the time - having a blog in the outside world is definitely a different experience than writing here was.
from hibiscus101 :
what a beautiful family!
from readyorknot :
I totallllly forgot you had another blog. gosh. my mind is gone as of late!! i'm a bit jealous of your vacation, though. you have a beautifull family, though :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Love the vacation pics! I was surprised to see your name highlighted on my buddy list, I have grown so accustomed to reading your new blog! And i just found out about your other green one, so I will have to check it out as well. :)
from ameliorating :
Merry Christmas! Hope you have a safe and wonderful holiday season!
from emaciana :
i voted!
from h2ophobic :
I miss you!
from hibiscus101 :
hope you and your family are having fun with the new little one :)
from coexistapart :
I loved your sense of humor in that last note! My email address is [email protected]
from coexistapart :
Would it be possible, in a non-stalker kind of way, to get your address to send you something? Maybe?
from mamabean :
Fried Okra! He's a boy after my own heart. I am thinking of you and praying birth will go smoothly and beautifully and that Jonas will have a happy, healthy baby brother.
from h2ophobic :
Diaryland notes seem to be (finally) working this morning, so I thought I'd better take advantage of it and stop by to say hi!
from readyorknot :
sounds like you're having a blast!!! I'm a bit jealous, hehe.
from theflyingrat :
I bet you're anxious to see Nick... I would have a hard time being away from Kent for that long.
from xx-angel-xx :
haha, thanks :) and yes, I can sale it but, I'm not exactly sure how to do that, especially since you only have four days (three now) for registration.
from coexistapart :
Hope all is well, we haven't heard from you in so SO long!
from h2ophobic :
I've set up a new diary at Vox. It's set up as http://cdwinmt.vox.com Come by and say hi when you get a chance.
from mamabean :
Hand, Foot and Mouth went around our neighborhood last summer and Alex had it but a very mild case. In fact nobody seemed to be very bothered by it around here. Hearty stock, these midwesterners. I hope your drive-by barfing was a one-off hormonal jolt and doesn't return. It is just so unpleasant!!! :) I can't believe you're already 5 mos. along. Glory be other peoples' pregnancies go by quickly!
from mamabean :
Your Easter sounded so fun! I'm glad Jonas enjoyed it, too. You know what's bizarre? When I married my first husband, we stored a lot of our 'treasures' in his parents' basement. I never retrieved them and often wonder if they still have all of the things that were so valuable and keepable to me at 24 stored away in boxes, or if my ex-inlaws went through it all. It's a weird feeling. Happy Birthday tomorrow... if you were here I'd make you a pie, for sure. Key lime is one of my two favorites as well! YUMMO.
from mamabean :
Your fears about your parents' being 5 hours late don't seem irrational at all to me! I'd have been scared too. Al can be only 25 - 30 minutes late and I just get tied up in knots thinking he's dead. It ain't healthy! But I've heard so many other mothers say they are the same way that I just sortof try to live with it and accept it as "normal-ish." :) Ya'll have a fun Easter... I bet it will feel very special to you to be home. PS I read your comment to Alice about her Chem Preg and I am so happy your new little baby turned out to be there and fine after all of your early complications. What happened to the cysts? Did they just go away? M
from hibiscus101 :
oh lord! i wish for days without snow. blekk. acutally I work until 1am but I was running late last night and then got stuck with the shoveling and such. typically i'm outta here by 1:30am.
from mathero :
I'm writing again. I hope you'll check me out at my new address.. http://mhmlo.diaryland.com
from h2ophobic :
The thought of spending 30 hours flying...is overwhelming to me. Add a small child into the equation and it has all the makings of an anxiety attack. You amaze me! I'm glad you're home safe and sound.
from xx-angel-xx :
I just want to say that I'm not leading him on.. i'll clarify it all here.... I have told him how I feel. I have writen in here, perhaps about a week or a little more ago about my feelings for him. I'm too afraid to be hurt to actually allow myself to 100% feel the way i *think* I may towards him. I'm not going into anything as 'more then friends' and I've told him that.. 1) he just broke up with someone 2) he hasn't earned anything from me yet for it to be more about 'us' 3) he hasn't gained my trust 100% for it to be more then friends. He knows that. No matter what, I always share my feelings and my thoughts.. whether or not that's good. I would NEVER lead anyone on.. but the problem with this. I perhaps want it. but, my heart has been through so much. We've been friends. We stopped talking but, we'd speak again, we then would stop, and we've been speaking for months now. Like I said- it may be just him being over in Iraq that is having me have these feelings for him but, one always has to sort out their feelings.. I'm sorry that it made it seem like I am. i really am not.
from mamabean :
Oh Puh-lease. Publishable? Don't make me laugh. Unless you mean publishable as "don't let this happen to you" examples, of course. ;) You, on the other hand. OH YEAH, author extraordinaire!
from mamabean :
Hee hee Yeah I figured it was clutter... I was just playing dumb. :) But it was funnier in my head than it turned out to be written down.
from mamabean :
Wooooooooohoooooooooo! Kissy kissy back! I missed you too... welcome back, welcome back. I can't wait to hear what you got into while you were away... an adventure or three, I am SURE. Hurry up and get settled in and get to posting, girlie!
from emaciana :
awww. a puppy! he must just be thrilled!
from emaciana :
WOW, i totally needed to catch up on my reading of other people's diaries! I just found out you are pregnant!!! Sorry for the late congratulations, but nonetheless, CONGRATS!!! That's so exciting! I can't wait to read your diary through all the wonderful pregnancy ups and downs.
from mamabean :
What talent you have! I want to read what happens next... You amaze me. You're one of the people I know who most seems to be using everything about yourself in positive ways. I mean... what I mean is... you don't seem to be WASTING anything about yourself or your life. I really admire that about you, among many other things. Awesome story. I hope you win the contest, because yours is the best, I already know it.
from lowercaseg :
I really liked your story entry today! I wish there was more! :)
from emaciana :
thanks so much for your encouraging comment about the birthing experience and my fear of pain. I need all the encouragement and support I can get.
from lindzeeleigh :
Merry Christmas!! :) xo
from f-i-n :
I think it's supposed to be a camel. Yeah, some of those decorations are creepy....which is why i like them!
from mamabean :
Jam Thumbprints 1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter 2/3 cup granulated sugar 2 egg yolks 2 cups twice-sifted flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla jam or jelly (less than 1/4 cup. I use currant jelly) Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in egg yolks one at a time, followed by vanilla. Add sifted flour to butter mixture and mix well. Roll into 1/2 tsp. balls and place 1 inch apart on well-greased and floured cookie sheet (or line cookie sheet with parchment paper - much easier). Make a little depression in each cookie ball with your finger and fill the depression with a tiny bit of jelly. Bake at 325 (F) for 12-13 minutes. Cookies should not be browned. There ya go. These are my favorites, I think.
from xx-angel-xx :
i love love love the picture, especially the first one!!!
from theflyingrat :
Jonas is such a cutie pie! :)
from hibiscus101 :
goood point!:)
from princesse69 :
Hehe I liked your bear ad. Very funny
from emaciana :
that's so sad to hear about your friend. a friend of mine just had an abortion, about a mo ago and it was so sad. her baby would have only been 2 months younger than mine! take care
from mamabean :
Oh, my sweet friend! I am so sorry for all of you. Being so close physically and emotionally to it all... you must feel like you want to come out of your own SKIN to fix it! There really aren't words, but I am sad and sorry... so sorry... about what you've faced. It sounds like you did everything you could and gave your friend wise and loving counsel. I wish she'd listened. Sigh.
from amommaslove :
I'm such a freak that I called my peditrician, She said that all the vaseline, baby oil trick do not work! The only thing that works is lice shampoo. I got lucky I on;y found 2 on Shaylee and none on anyone else. I have wearing a rag on my head for a week. I look so cute. scarism!
from mamabean :
Ha ha! Or maybe it's just that we are BOTH jerks! Hee hee... just kidding. ;)
from emaciana :
that is so cute, and such a good idea to do those little cards. you guys are superprepared, getting him to practice saying thank you. i'm sure you have a wonderfully well mannered little guy on your hands.
from coexistapart :
Thanks for the cake info. Regarding schools, it depends if he was at *my* school(the QIS school) or the Other school (Pechersk); S. Alexander sounds like the name of the senior school VP, but he only arrived the year I did--'97. Maybe he was the junior or middle school head? They were off our campus.
from amommaslove :
It is hard but I am proud to say we are a military family, it is my life and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love my life. It is alot crazy most of the time but I'm proud it is mine.
from amommaslove :
It is a normal size throw rug that is fleece. It hasthe American Flag and Iraq Flag at the top a bald eagle under that, then it says Operation Iraqi Freedom and has a picture of the Country of Iraq. Then it says Camp Buehring Kuwait with a scorpian and a camel under that then it says 2006-2007 and all this is embroidered. It has alot of detail. It is actually really neat.
from theflyingrat :
That pity party idea is great. It really made me laugh when I read that - I can just imagine my mother's reaction if I actually said that to her. Hehe. :)
from hibiscus101 :
Thanks!!!
from mel-is-dvash :
Hi again. Please email me at mel-is-dvash @ diaryland . com for password info. My daughter, the first one I nursed, also nursed for a fairly long time, she last tried it when she was four years old. I think I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with nursing. I love the closeness, the intimacy, the special bond -- and I want my body back! My youngest now, yes, knowing that when he is finally all finished (he nearly is) it is all over forever is very sad. So although I could cut him off right now with no harm done, I choose not to.
from theflyingrat :
That conversation you left in my comments sounded so much like Kent and I that I had to laugh. Thanks. ♥
from some1smommy :
Thanks. He's been holding his head up a little since he was a month old, but now that he's 5 months, he's really got it down. He's moved so fast in the past 2 months. He went from a wobbly, tiny little baby, that you could actually believe was premature, to being bigger than some other babies his age. He weighs about 15lbs now. I swear he feels heavier though. He's also a very happy baby. He laughs and coos constantly. He rarely cries. Doesn't even cry when he's wet/dirty. Just when he's hungry, but most of the time I catch it before he starts to cry. And he's been sleeping through the night since about 11 weeks. It's GREAT. lol
from emaciana :
i just read a lot of your journal as i'm currently pregnant and wanting to connect with other mommies. so just saying hi!
from h2ophobic :
I've added you to my favorites. I hope that's OK. Thanks!
from coexistapart :
I'm in Chiang-Mai, listening to really bad karaoke in the lobby of my hotel while checking updated blogs, but in Chaing-Mai none-the-less!!! I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I'm thinking of you since I'm half way around the world and that much closer to your neck of the woods. I'm really burnt out from summer school, so I'm honestly not sure I'm going to do anything other than sit by the pool and work on my 20 page paper (and of course go out to eat, and visit the night market) but I love, LOVE it here. Thanks so much for suggesting that Chiang-Mai is a *must* do. Hopefully when I get to Bangkok Thursday I will be able to follow through with some of your earlier suggestions.
from mamabean :
I can't find your comments button?! You have ALWAYS been good at this Mommy stuff. Who else could raise a sweet little free-spirited and smart man in a foreign country while working on a degree AND doing something for people besides herself and her immediate family? You rule - You're my hero! (airhorn woots here) I'm glad you're having a fun time... I'm sure the work to polish up your thesis will take less time than you think you need - that's how it always is with writing for me, anyway.
from theflyingrat :
I'm glad you're having a good time (and good enough weather to get out and do things!). ♥
from xx-angel-xx :
awe, sounds like such a lovely time you're having and jonas seems as sweet and adorable as everr :)
from lindzeeleigh :
Glad to hear that you arrived safe. :) It sounds like it was a long journey, but that Jonas was good! I hope you adjust well to the time change!
from princesse69 :
What a GOOD boy Jonas was! I can't even imagine what Ethan would be like on such a long flight! Jonas done so well. I think it's cute how he went round cleaning the airports you passed through. I bet you're a very proud mama.
from xx-angel-xx :
Gosh, that is a LONG day, i'm so glad that it turned out fairly decent and Jonas was pretty well behaved and that it was a safe trip!! There are moments where i think everyone's looking at me and seeing me as this awful mother and unfit mother, i think you're right a lot of mothers feel like that sometimes. I hope you have a good time in the states with your family :)
from theflyingrat :
I think all mum's do feel that way sometimes - like people are judging them as unfit. I'm glad the flight went pretty well. ♥
from mamabean :
Yay! I'm so glad you made it safely and with very few incidents. It's always nice to have a GOOD surprise or two now and again, isn't it? Did you get all of the things done you wanted to get done before you left? What will you do with your family while here in the US? Hugs to both of you - M (oh, and I am sorry I didn't get to see you while you were in Chicago... I would seriously have been awake for it, for sure! I never sleep anymore.)
from starlight42 :
I don't think haloscan took my comment...As far as your curiosity, I think that's normal. Especially for our age range. I mean, there's so much to do and ahead of us, who can help but wonder what is next. Plus, you seem to lead a very exciting life, be working towards new things. Good luck with the moving! I once moved from one apartment to another in the same complex, the move was just as bad as any other. I hate moving!
from lindzeeleigh :
Not a lot of people have actualy excitement about moving - the packing everything up is just no fun!! when you are there it will be great I am sure. And you are visiting home soon, which will be fun! I like to look a lot into the future as well, so I completely understand!
from f-i-n :
Thank you for the sweet note. My legs look storklike in my converse but I don't care. What do the gas station trinkets look like in Alabama? You should film them!
from lindzeeleigh :
Woah! We just updated at the same time! :) That is awesome that you are looking at a new house and the ideas for the place you are looking at sounds so wonderful. You should be so proud to be planning those ideas. The world needs more people like you. :)
from lindzeeleigh :

from hibiscus101 :
Why thank you!:) ha. monokini is quite fun to say but slightly frightening lol.
from mamabean :
Really, 'rubbing Ubercuteness in other people's faces?' That can't be good... and darn it, both of those outfits were hand-me-downs! I am not to blame.
from starlight42 :
OMG, 23 weeks?! Oh, I am SO not that patient!! Good news is, my doc said they'll do another u/s in 2 weeks, which is mainly for the heart, which needs to be bigger to to get an accurate look at it, and of course they'll look for the gender then. If they can't tell again, then 2 weeks after that I have a regular dr's appt, which will put me at 22 1/2 weeks, and she said we'd for sure be able to tell by then! I'm in such a rush though because I planned to register in basically 2 1/2 weeks, the girl planning my shower was waiting on knowing....ahhh, if anything I guess lots of greens and yellows!
from danddteacher :
Nope, they're chili cheese burritos now, and not all Taco Bells have them. It's sad, isn't it?
from f-i-n :
I have no idea where the Hitler museum is...but I know that I wouldn't want to go there. It's just something that I overheard. And last night it was in the 50s, which is very strange (and cold) for Miami.
from coexistapart :
Just so you know, I'm trying to get into the habit of responding to comments people leave me by writing on *my* comments page, so the whole thing looks like a discussion threat. In case you were not planning to go back and check, I've responded to your comment!
from lerin :
Thanks for adding me! I've been visiting you on and off for quite some time. Note me if you want the pw to private entries.
from hibiscus101 :
nope nope little by little my body is rejecting me. haha
from coexistapart :
Seriously, I could not live on the budget you are living on. I am very impressed. I mean obviously I could if I really wanted to or tried, but it would be difficult...especially coming down from my current means. I limit myself to $400/month for food, clothes, school stuff, etc. but outside of that I pay $750 for rent and utilities. Then there's spending money I earn at work for travelling. So yes, all the more power to you for your excellent money management skills! I haven't really thought about going to Chiang Mai. My roommate did a tour of Thailand a couple of years ago and that was by far her favourite spot. This whole thing started out with going to Bangkok as an addendum to the Hong Kong trip. Then I added Phuket because I wanted to see those huge cliff islands from the James Bond movie and it would be an open-leg flight. But, unless I earn a lot of money in April/May, I don't think I can add yet another leg...both for my sanity (it will be about six weeks living out of a suitcase already at that point) and my purse strings.
from coexistapart :
- 2006-03-01 14:53:13 Thanks so much for the compliment! *I* am actually not happy with my style per se, but I do recognize that right now it works for me and gets the job done. I enjoy reading what *you* write; it is very refreshing to have someone who is living outside of the closed world of North America.
from ameliorating :
Happy Valentine's Day!
from xx-angel-xx :
haha, i have the same booblessness problem too!! I bought a tank bikini last year because of the stretch marks and I feel more comfortable in that then I did in a bikini, but, I probbaly will be buying a new one this year with a skirt, haha. Yes, I spend all my money at walmart and I do think 10% is too less for workers. My parents spend just about all their money at walmart too, minus paying the bills and such! (both my parents work at walmart, as well). Maybe they should give like a 20% or something, rather then 10.
from princesse69 :
Poor you! I hope that all of you are better now. It's crap when the family comes down with stomach bugs-especially for little ones. They spread like wild fire. You must have been exhausted with it all and trying to do your classes too. I'm glad Jonas enjoyed his elephant show, I hope that cheered him up.
from hibiscus101 :
awww i hope hes feeling beter. poor lil guy.
from malinkaa :
Sounds like a hoot in Thailand.
from xx-angel-xx :
I don't know how I missed this entry! I'm so sorry to hear about jonas and all of you! How horrible!! i hope you all are feeling better!! ((hugs))!!!
from theflyingrat :
Eww. I hope you're all feeling better now. What a crappy way (no pun intended) to start your trip. ♥
from mamabean :
you pooor things! that was a nightmare! I am glad you are all feeling better (and hoping you still do) now. i'm jealous about the elephants - alex would have loved that, too! sounds more like a virus than food poisoning... why did it hit everyone at a different time?
from mamabean :
Hee hee hee... if cheese, squash and yogurt constitutes a real meal, then I guess she is eating real meals! No tips other than to just keep offering everything you eat to Jonas and then acting as if you just really don't care if he eats it or not (even though inside you are holding your breath and praying). Alex is not a great eater, to be honest. She eats some days and other days would rather just throw the food on the floor around her chair and say "uh oh, uh oh." I try to remain calm but i think there's something genetic in a woman that makes her stress about what her kid eats. Alex's doctor said kids this age need very very little to eat and to just not make a big deal about it. So I try! Hope your trip is going well - I'm missing your updates but was happy to see you in my comments section! Hugs - M
from sarahsundae :
Thanks for the nice note.
from friedokra :
Oh YEAH... and Alex would miss it too. I reread and entry and realized, "hey, this is all about ME. what about Alex?" She would miss it too, I'm sure, for many reasons. I don't want to take it from her, either. You are a good mama, Can-can.
from lindzeeleigh :
Just wanted to let you know I started reading you after clicking on your name at Jen's diary. I really like what I have read so far and have added you to my faves. It is always interesting to read what other teachers have to say! And Jonas is super cute. :)
from xx-angel-xx :
Well, Logan woke up 8 times but, he was sick BUT, on a normal day he wakes about 3, 4, or 5 times. Jonas isn't the only one that doesn't sleep through the night. No matter what I try to do in order to get Logan to sleep through the night, he just doesn't. If he falls asleep on my lap while I'm trying to rock him, as soon as I lay him into his crib he wakes up! Silly boys.. Hopefully they get better before they're 2!
from xx-angel-xx :
Awe, you shouldn't have doubt in yourself. You are an amazing mom, you can tell just by the way you write, the beautiful pictures you take. You take pride in your teaching (even if you don't think so, you can tell your a wonderful teacher) Any guy would be lucky to have you! Even your husband! You should have amazing confidence in yourself! ((hugs))
from itsalexas :
i'm still around......just so busy it's sickening......thanks for checking up on me! i promise an update soon! btw, jonas is gorgeos!!
from princesse69 :
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! x
from mathero :
Have a wonderful Holiday season!
from hibiscus101 :
*Happy Holidays*
from mathero :
My dad is a Master Electrician. Obviously I need to start looking into that!
from tigerlily21 :
Happy Holidays!!
from mamabean :
AHAAAAA! See you think just like I do! "How'm I going to get this done with my little cherub scurrying about my feet, undoing everything at lightning speed?" Yeah. I just did the whole thing after she went to bed (thank goodness for early bedtimes) - multiple trips into the attic (right over her head - sneak sneak sneak), cutting tree off of car roof and hauling it in, and even vaccuuming after I was all done. Honestly, if I couldn't put this baby to bed at 7 pm every night, my house would have disintegrated around me by now. :) Hugs - M
from starlight42 :
Happy Holidays- I've added you as a fav. as well.
from goingloopy :
Thanks for adding me to your favorites :)
from xx-angel-xx :
When Logan kisses he says 'mwuah' too, I'll tell him to kiss his teddys and he does. Little boys are so adorable! Although, Logan hasn't head butted me yet.. I'm sure that'll be coming soon, hehe :)
from hibiscus101 :
YOUR WELCOME!;)
from friedokra :
the peanuts christmas special is pretty much all one needs. it has everything. oh, and as for transvestites, we just go with he-she. but i bet that is far from PC. sigh.
from yur-gonna-be :
I saw that you had added me to your buddy list so I dropped by. I really enjoyed reading your "life story." I am adding you too, and will be back to read more about you. Jonas is a real cutie, too.
from malinkaa :
I keep forgetting to tell you that a certain postcard arrived in the mail. I was rather surprised at how fast it got here, the one from Thailand seemed to go around the globe 3 times. Once again thank you.
from waterstain :
he kind of looks like an evil genius in that picture. cute. :o)
from hibiscus101 :
i love the jacket! and i hate hate rats! they get into everything
from amommaslove :
I am from Indiana and it is 60 degrees one day and snowing the next! It drives me crazy! I am adding you to my favorites list! My step-sister teaches college students english as a second language! Have a great Holiday!
from princesse69 :
I think Isabel is starting to get better now. She just need lots of sleep. She makes me so sad when she's unwell. She pulls the saddest face ever and her bottom lip trembles. It breaks your heart. Hope you and your family are well ♥ Sharon xoxoxo
from xx-angel-xx :
Thank you, Happy Belated Thanksgiving! I know, I'm very thankful for my father being there for logan. have a wonderful day!
from hibiscus101 :
always
from plopphizz :
Congrats, you have been Quoted: http://quoted.diaryland.com/mentioned.html. Thanks for the great writing. -- Ploppy.
from princesse69 :
my little boy is exactly the same with our computer and phones. He has loads of toy phones but he only wants to play with the real ones.
from hunterpoo :
OH GAWD grubby lil hands on keyboards and cellphones drives me wacko! Hunter has learned to climb up on the desk so he can get "up close and personal" with the puter. I upgraded my cellphone a few weeks ago and gave Hunter the old one cause it was pretty much done for.. and I think he knew the difference. I give him one of the cordless house phone, but take out the battery so he doesn't make calls.. I think it's the whole "doing something I'M NOT suppose to be doing", not making momma give in. Oh yea, dancing.. hilarious. Hunter dances to Gwen Stefani very well. hehe. Holla Back Hunt! (PS. Thank you again for writing for me.. I'm gonna luv ya forever).
from hibiscus101 :
dont worry! I'm the same way. I love my "you've got a new diayland note" emails:)
from theflyingrat :
Yes, "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. That is my favorite book. I have 3 different copies of it and I read it once or twice a year. I don't know why I like it so much, I just do. Anyway, I tried to specifically choose a name that wasn't on all those display things because I figured that meant it couldn't be too terribly popular. You can always find my name (Jennifer) on everything and about 5 other variations of it. I HATED having a popular name. Haha. ♥
from jane-dreams :
I loved reading your guest entry in Kate's diary! I'm adding you as a favorite so I can come back and read some more.
from xx-angel-xx :
Thank you for your note. Your right! Somedays I get frustrated about it all, this morning I don't feel frustrated at all and think he's a 'bad' kid. He's not classified under bad yet either, i agree on that. I think I will use some of your advice for the tantrums and such, thank you. What do you do when your son spits? I at first use to put my finger over his mouth and tell him 'no' but, I reliezed he was doing it more and more for attention. Once again, ty.
from friedokra :
It's me, Mamabean... Alex's Mama. I was so happy you stopped by and left me a note... I enjoyed reading about the huge birthday bash! It looked like a very fabulous time! Can't wait to read back in your diary and learn more about you and your family! Fried Okra is my more "personal" diary. If you want to read, let me know and I'll give you the passwords, etc. by email. Hugs and nice to meet you and your adorable son! Megan
from hunterpoo :
The birthday bash looked GREAT! I'm so glad you had so much help too, I would've totally FREAKED with that many people, and Hunter's DID have a lot. I ended up blowing up all the balloons with this hand pump that pretty much made me look like I was doing something nasty when it was in use, and I may have carpal tunel from the damn party still. Panda cake = pure genius. I'm jealous.
from hunterpoo :
Happy Birthday Jonas!!!!! Damn time DID fly!! Looks like he's enjoying that motorcycle. The invites are cool, I like picture type invites. Hope it goes good and yay for picture updates!
from princesse69 :
wow! im surprised that you have a Tesco.i thought Tesco was just here in the UK. My only trouble is that our Tesco is a 5 minute walk from us and i seem to go in there every day as it's so convenient.
from hunterpoo :
It's so crazy how different things sound there. How trusting you can be with strangers. I pretty much have a heart-attack if Hunter is out of my view. I know places are different though. Some ladies from my mom's work play those stuffed animal claw machines and when they win stuff, they send it home for Hunter. It's cute, but one sent a Daisy Duck.. which isn't very boyish. hahahha!
from princesse69 :
hi i have locked my diary.my username is princessse69 and password is catdog.♥ sharon
from hunterpoo :
I actually had to catch up on your updates! You've been actually spreading the love more! I love the pics you've been posting. The sweeping one is so adorable. Hunter takes the brooms away when he sees someone sweeping. With him being able to RUN away with it, sweeping has become a marathon chore. I love the sweater modeled by Jonas! (I'm a baby boy sweater freak too!) and Yay! Finally a pic. I think the only pic I seen of you, you were wearing a motorcycle helmet. hahaha! You pull off short hair good. I personally freak out at the sound of sissors cutting near my head, especially that close.
from hoist34444 :
he is freakin' adorable. i'm still alive. good to see you are, too. i now "blog" on xanga.com/horshack just fyi.
from texasmommy :
Just came across your diary. I hope God continues to use you in Asia and wherever!!! My little guy is 18 months old and into everything. It is fun and keeps getting better. I am having a girl in January. That should prove interesting. Anywho, I just wanted you to know that I was very encouraged by your site. Texasmommy
from hunterpoo :
Yessssssssss, new toaster!! haha. JK. Glad you guys made it back ok, and dammit @ things being bumpy. Hope Nick had insurance on his cell. UGH, the word nebulizer strikes fear into mine and Hunter's hearts. His breathing was so bad last year that they sent a damn machine home with me so I could torture him in his own home every 4-6 hours as needed. Hope Jonas clears up.
from hunterpoo :
Good! I'm not the only mom that plans waaaayyy ahead. hahah! I'll tell you this.. the next 2 months will FLY. As soon as I started planning the party it was like it was there instantly. And I don't think it's horrible to only invite people your age, most of my friends have kids now, and that's usually the excuse to not come or leave early, so you keep the kids happy and the friends can stay longer. That was my view on it.. and it worked! hehe.
from hunterpoo :
So you got the 9 year olds in check, what about them pesky 10 year olds? Those buggers can run too. hah.
from hunterpoo :
I'm really REALLY sorry to hear about Nick's dad. It actually almost made me cry because I know the pain. The only way I found peace in it was that dad wasn't suffering anymore. No more radiation, no more biopsy needles, no more procrit shots, and of course.. no more pain. I hope the family sticks together in these hard times, my thoughts are with you guys.
from hunterpoo :
I'm really sorry to hear about this. Cancer is a horrible thing to deal with. My dad fought cancer for 7 years, it really is damn near impossible to sit back and watch them waste away. My dad practically lived in the recliner the last 3 years of his life. My thoughts are with you on this, I know how tough it is. There's nothing you can really say to help because it's life. There is a lot to be learned from it though, but the person has to find the knowledge in it themselves. The best you can do is be a shoulder to cry on and someone who will listen no matter what.
from hunterpoo :
YAY for the update!! Boobs and books. Sounds great! I promise I won't nag anymore til at least a month of not updating. hehe!
from hunterpoo :
You still hanging out in the states? Do you realize it's been 26 days since you updated? You get people addicted and then keep us desperatly waiting? hehe. Yea, so i was originally gonna leave a note to thank you for the diaper cake how-to site, just thought I'd throw in a lil bitching. haha. The cake sounds quite easy, I may actually try! yay!
from hunterpoo :
Yay!!! Jonas got to get licked. He didnt lick the dog back did he? I love seeing their face light up and they try to get away.. it's like they lose their own game that they play on mom, except its usually a raspberry attack.. hehe.
from hoist34444 :
candice!!!! for some reason diaryland popped into my head today... and you still keep yours! awesome! i back-read a bit and tried to catch up. jonas is adorable. i bet you are the bestest mom ever. hope all is well. if you ever get a chance, shoot me an email. miss you, female version of me. cASEY www.alsotheband.com
from hunterpoo :
hhaaha. You want Jonas to be able to lick animals too??! I hear Laotian and Thai animals are tasty, you should have quite the variety over there. Hey what are people in Bangkok called?? I'm all stupid and giggling to myself because I'm thinking bangkokians. YEA, I'm on meds already.. hahah.
from hunterpoo :
OMG!!! I'm so jealous. I wanna go on a trip with just me and the boy, but I'm scared I'd freak out all alone. This may actually inspire me to pack the kid up and head to San Fran for a day or two with the kid. OH man, trying to go potty with a kid in the room is hell enough, but how bout when they won't let you set them down??!? And you have to HOLD them while trying to pee... omg HELL.
from hunterpoo :
I would so break out the sharpie and correct that sticker!! Not your fault they made a typo!! haha. I would consider it the same, because wouldn't a push up be one of those things the military people do all day long? And although I know Jonas is a super baby.. I don't think he's heading for the military just yet! Hunt is learning to "be nice" to puppies and kitties too. He's skipped right over BASHING.. to biting. It's much worse, and you will experience it soon. Toothing monsters, put EVERYTHING in the mouths.. including cat asses. (*gag*)
from frogmom :
I think that counts, hes up...
from hunterpoo :
How was his weight percentile? I mean babies have some massive growth spurts. It's weird. My son has only grown about 9 inches in height since he was born, but has gained 20 lbs *gasp* in the weight dept. I'm afraid of the shortness too! I'm only like 5-3, his dad is like 6-1.. I'm hoping he gets to be tall too. If not he'll hafta win people over with his killer personality... better work on that just in case... *eek*
from hunterpoo :
ok I suck at math. Is Jonas about 7 months? Helps when I'm just told the answer. My lil guy got a very similar gray suit, well it had the same hat!! I love that hat, but my monsters head is too big now.
from frogmom :
Jonas is adorable!!
from hunterpoo :
Yea, I think i just read your last 20 or 30 entries, I hafta tell ya, I love your style of writing.. cracks me up!!! (not that kinda crack). I love reading new mom diaries too. Awesome seeing as how we're maybe 4 months apart in age and our sons are maybe 3 months apart. Just a warning, I'll be BACH.
from feesticka :
I've said it once, but I'll say it again --- your son is ADORABLE!
from soverycherry :
He is the cutest! Parker ends up with a vegetable goatee whenever he eats. He's a weird one, though - not much for sweet stuff like cereal with bananas or applesauce, but he loves green beans and peas and carrots. What a mess! Take care.
from feesticka :
Glad to hear things are going well. Good luck with your courses.
from revisions :
your adventures sound so interesting. my husband and i are thinking of moving to thailand to teach at a university there...how do you like the other side of the world?
from soverycherry :
Hi! Congratulations on the birth of your little boy! I was so excited to read your birth story, and he is just adorable. I hope you had a great Christmas and a nice trip back to Laos! Take care!
from feesticka :
Have a great Christmas and best wishes for the flight! I hope all goes well and I look forward to reading entries written from Laos!
from goldylockz22 :

from tigerlily21 :
Congratulations!! What a beautiful little boy!
from makavelli :
SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! MANY CONGRATULATIONS!!!. WET THE BABYS HEAD AND HAVE A DRINK ON ME!! :)
from bitterwineuk :

from purplebanana :
Congrats!!
from itsalexas :
congratulations!!!!! I wish you the best with your new baby boy!
from feesticka :
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I'm so happy for you. However, that last bit definately confirmed desire to hold off on the whole family thing. Hehehe. I hope that you heal up quickly and wish you and your son all the best. Again, CONGRATS!!!!!!!
from purplebanana :
You're not sick. You're talented. There is a very thin line between the two.
from bitterwineuk :
Not long now, sweetie. Good luck.
from feesticka :
Wow! I hope that you survive these last few weeks of your pregnancy without too much discomfort. Your baby will be here before you know it! Best wishes and hope all is well.
from needisaymore :
That is such a tough decision. My husband's father died a couple of weeks ago in Holland. He has been up and down with his health over the past year and it has been so hard on my husband--do you go? not go? What if??? And we certainly didn't a baby on the way too! It's very hard to be far away from family. With my husband, it all worked out--he got home 24 hours before his dad died and was able to be with him at the end. Things do work out. I'll keep sending good thoughts your way. Take care of yourself.
from momma-zoe :
I know exactly where you are coming from! In both my pregnancys people always would say "There is no way your __months pregnant!?!" With my 1st son I gained 70 lbs and even a week before he was born a man said he couldn't tell I was pregnant until I pointed it out..*grumbles* I am also very tall, 5'11. But still. I was so upset! {Just letting you know your not alone here!}
from bitterwineuk :
Hi, I'm Becca, 23 from UK, found your site through 100 top diaryland sites. I know how you feel. I am a new mum to Matthew, well, he's 6 months and I found pregnancy so emotional and hormonal. I don't think I am completely over it either. Added you to my fave diaires. Will be keeping track on progress. Take Care. Becca.
from feesticka :
Have a safe trip. I hope that breakfast is everything that you hope it will be :-)
from itsalexas :
i just wanted to say congrats on the pregnancy, and that i'm jealous! i want a baby. too bad the hubby's not ready yet, since it does take both of us! lol! anyway, best of luck on being a mommy!
from sunnflower :
Hi from Suburban Island and thanks for adding my dairy to your Diaryland favorites list. Happy Anniversary! And I'm right with you on Spinal Tap and C.S. Lewis - both excellent.
from tigerlily21 :
Congrats on the 4 year anniversary! Hope you have a wonderful day!
from feesticka :
Happy anniversary! Best wishes for the years ahead of you.
from feesticka :
Hey there -- thanks for the note. After reading some of your stuff I agree; we do have alot in common. I'm looking forward to reading some more of your entires. Best wishes for a smooth pregnancy!
from needisaymore :
Wow! Congratulations and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!
from tigerlily21 :
Congratulations! Best wishes from here in the States!
from proseuche :
Congrats on becoming a momma! It's interesting that you got to visit Cambodia. One of my closest friends here is Cambodian. Her mother was pregnant with her when they escaped to Thailand because of the genocide during the war. She just became a Christian two years ago. :)
from makavelli :
Oh my God!!! Massive congrats to you both!!! *hugs*
from proseuche :
hey, are you in laos with any kind of organization? just curious because i went over to china "independently" supported but worked with an organization there. cheers, jen
from needisaymore :
I'm one of the thongs as shoewear generation. My sons literally cringe and run the other way anytime I refer to their flip flops as thongs!!There is no confusion on my part. Thongs as shoes may split the area between two of my toes. Any other type of thong will never, ever split any other part of my body.
from hoist34444 :
i got a better one..... so much in store for 2004!
from hoist34444 :
i got a better one..... so much in store for 2004!
from hoist34444 :
vulgar? nah. funny? yeah.
from needisaymore :
FYI--I moved my diary from ineedawife to needisaymore.
from needisaymore :
Their "pitiful attempts at buying extra points" cracks me up! It may be a bit more blatant, but kids are kids everywhere--always wanting a bit more! For now--let me wish you a "happy life forever"--or at least all the best in 2004!!
from proseuche :
Toilet was very herry up- hilarious. i know the school i taught at made me work out of curriculum where one chapter of the book was completely devoted to what kind of English curse words were appropriate when you were angry. Needless to say, we skipped that one, but not w/out them wanting to know what the "F" word meant. Yikes!
from proseuche :
i've enjoyed reading your entries about teaching in Asia, i spent about 7 months teaching in Southern China and loved the experience, hope to go back soon. peace to you.
from lightedpath :
Hello! Lighted Path is now up and running! You are more than welcome to come and add your site to our Christian Directory! Can't wait to see what God does in and through us as we all work together! - with much love, Christy
from waterstain :
his tail just... fell off? did he get hurt or something? on a not so similar note, my biscuit survived a dog attack. what's more, he survived for three days after without food or water because no one could find him. poor bisky. despite having gaping holes from top to bottom and every where in between, he got on quite nicely and is back to his happy, obese self now. the end.
from santacruzer :
nkb?!? should be nhb
from santacruzer :
Thank you in advance for the postcard. There should be some on the way for you. 19 more days to go before I fly out. Yippee! Congrats on the house! I can't wait to come and see it. nkb
from santacruzer :
Mongolian BBQ! Aagh, why did I have to be in the Caribbean? Maybe I should try to plan that in my schedule before my LAX departure. Email me the restaurant details. nhb
from santacruzer :
So you would like the "shao qiezi" recipe? Can someone say pretty please with a cherry on top? Don't worry, I'm emailing it to you right away. nhb
from ineedawife :
Nice to hear someone else is not "type A". Perhaps we should start a new group...type Z?? Have a good trip back to Asia. I'll be looking forward to hearing of your trip and your adventures once you are there again.
from ineedawife :
How horrible!! I do hope your MIL will be ok!
from waterstain :
that's funny. i did that a couple times, when i worked fast food. except i was usually to the hand washing by the time someone would pull up. it just gets so busy, and one can only hold it so long. i'd forgotten about the joys of fast food.
from foundmystar :
No problem, gotta love kool-aid!
from callmepreppy :
Thank you for the note...amazing..GREEN TEA really exists. I am at a loss for words! Take care.
from purfiedwater :
oh,..and i hope your grandfather will turn out fine.
from purfiedwater :
but you ARE better than that. you're affecting lives and you don't know it. so know it. :)
from sunnflower :
Love your alice inspired design. Thanks for leaving such a kind note for me. I would have answered sooner but I was traveling and had limited access to my computer. So - do they drink tea there? (Just joking!)
from ineedawife :
Hi, there--see? No worries--lots of friends around you, even if they are idiots. ha Haven't heard mention of your hubby lately. . .am I being too nosey?
from purfiedwater :
you're right it is. from people who stop to take time out of their day just to leave you a note. thank you. i don't know why i'm getting so lucky right now to have quality people like you leaving me notes. so thank you! you deserve to be thanked.
from purfiedwater :
hi. thanks for stumbling in and taking time to read my crazy thoughts. i don't know who would want to, but its people like you that leave little notes that make my day and make me smile. so thank you for that. i mean it. :)
from makavelli :
I can only relate to babies when they can talk. Until then they are a loveable bundle of poo producing flesh!. Also have you noticed when adults speak to babies and go "goo-goo-daa-aggg". Like they automatically understand. may as well recite shakespeare or keats. :)
from waterstain :
i'm one of eight children. i have eight sets of aunts and uncles, over 25 cousins, and i haven't even tried counting second cousins. plus i have a handful of 'ex aunts' that due to divorce aren't technically family, but we still keep in touch. conclusion: i have an extremely large family. 98% of them are weird as all get out, too. the end.
from itsalexas :
thanks for the note, yo. you've got great taste in music too! and movies.......i thought i was the only person in the world that like pee wee's big adventure......i own the movie! i envy you for getting to travel the way you do!
from strummer- :
Thanks for the note! I've heard of that whole ear candle thing. Sounds pretty crazy. I know a lot of people who swear by it. Strange indeed.
from santacruzer :
Hey Can Can, I can totally relate to the whole everyone-is-huge-in-America thing. That's exactly what I thought. Oh well, back to readjusting. It also makes me sick to see all the wasted money on unecessary extravagances. *Sigh*
from vomitgirl :
cant tell whether the compliment on the name was sarcasm, or what, but thanks! im quite proud that ive been crowned "vomit" by the hooligans i call my friends.
from mikamw710 :
I THINK THAT IT IS REALLY COOL THAT YOUR FROM CHINA I DID NOT KNOW PEOPLE FROM CHINA WAS ON DIARYLAND I AM A GIRL FROM OKLAHOMA AND I WANT YOU TO CHECK OUT MY DIARY PLEASE I STUMMBLED ON TO YOURS THINK YOU SO MUCH
from samiam0341 :
Hi...ok you should go all the way and get scuba certified, especially living in the Far East where there is truly exotic places to dive right next door. I got certified in order to make my vacations more interactive and exciting, as well as to get a glimpse of the majority of the palnet we mostly never see. Fish are friendly under water, and I look forward to my first shark encounter. My instructor was a hypertensive a-hole, so you should pick somebody who is calm and reassuring. Hasta Luigi!
from cowgirl1987 :
Thank you sooo much for the encouraging words you left me! I really do appreicate it! God Bless! :)
from mookiesfooky :
Thanks for the note. And you are pretty cool.
from theid :
Thank you for leaving a note. Alas I can't say I'm older than 20 ;) But 18 is close enough, I feel 50 most of the time anyway. You have a great diary.
from springfever :
dear ckb, cool diary! :) it looks like you're having a blast in china (SARS aside), hen hao! i hope your stay there and your future trip to thailand/myanmar continues to be great. Make sure you try all the chinese food before you go (if you can!) especially dim sum (my favorite, try eating the chicken feet it sounds really gross but it's pretty good). take care -http://springfever.diaryland.com
from save-a-cow :
OMG I am so jealous! I really want to go to Liverpool!
from nny777 :
Hey, thanks for signing my guestbook. Its cool that your in China. I've always wanted to go there. Its also pretty cool that you teach 130 kids. Buh-bye...
from save-a-cow :
Great! I'm glad it's not just me then! :P My job of choice is being a first grade teaher! Actually, any grade as long as they're under 11. Then we started to purposefully tick off our teachers...
from diamond-road :
That is so neat that you've lived in China for a year! I don't know if I'd ever be able to make that kind of move not knowing the language or customs or things like that...
from xia0ying18 :
helo...care to intro?
from chipsgalore :
hey, thanks a ton for the note, i feel loved now! i'm sorry you have to leave the children your teaching...that has to be hard! well have a smiley day!

Okay, your recipe is now listed. Thanks again for submitting. Do you have any recipe sites that you would like to add to your recipebook profile?
from dee-heretic :
Dee here from Our-Views. I'm sorry about that. I tried to cut-and-paste your review scores from a Notepad application. I did all my editing/changing with that app and I must have accidentally included the prior review's Navigation score and comments. So, I gave you an extra point. Again, good work.

from o-firefly-o :
I'm definitely in the Rolling Stone phase! And karaoke is fun, I did it when I was on vacation in Florida. All the old folks were singing Sonny and Cher and country ballads, then I ran up and sang Cheap Trick and ELO. Good times.
from o-firefly-o :
*gasp* My name is Candace!! wow...anyways, I really like your diary, it's really interesting and I like the layout. Also, I appreciate any Who refrences!!
from lilpeanut80 :
why can't I read my own notes? I'm confused.
from fuzzilicious :
charm is deceptive, beauty is fleeting.. I wrote that in an email to a friend of mine just last night. I sat through a whole conversation he had with another male friend about which sorority had the hottest girls (the MOST hottest girls, numerically or the hottest on the hotness scale girls?... it was an area of much confusion for them). Jeez.
from hoist34444 :
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I HOPE IT'S A GREAT ONE! I MISS YOU, KIDDO! WE'RE GETTNG OLD, AYE? JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE 23 AND A MONTH OLD! SHEESH!

from rainman73 :
Hey, how ya doing ? ! Just thought Id let you know about this nifty site Ive come across for fans like me and you of Stevie Wonder. You get points for stuff that you do like requesting songs on the radio, doing quizzes and polls. You get to trade these points in for cool things like posters, cds and other swag. If you fancy it head over to http://i-squad.net/motown/StevieWonder.html It tells you all about the Conception Stevie Wonder tribute album that comes out on 18th March as well. Theres loads of other artists that they do e teams for too, check em out at http://www.i-squad.com
from tufftastic :
at the risk of sounding selfish, you really should update more. ..that muffelletta story was the best ever!
from honestly :
Hey, craziness. I was just looking for people who liked the same music as me... I like two thirty eight a lot. They're good. And, crazy thing, I like the get away vehicle too. Actually, I went to a show of theirs in Atlanta on Christmas eve... missed seeing them play however. It was quite a drive... I live in Dallas. Cool stuff. Rock on.
from ashkid :
hullo candice! this is jenny rock by the way. i like your diary, i think the pictures add to the fun! woohoo!
from tuffstuff :
I finally read your diary! I like it! I think the first time I saw your comment on my analyzer thingy, the page wouldn't display or something, so I kinda forgot about it. Anyhoo, I was starting to read all your entries but then I remembered that I still have artwork to do. I'll do it tomorrow. You make me laugh! You rawk!
from firekid :
CANDICE! im sorry noone signs your analyzer, i guess you are just not cool. but i think your really neat and thats all that matters right? well if anyone can turn a boys frown upside down it would have to be you! goodnight.

from level-off :
Hey great site! I really enjoyed reading it and i'll be back for more for sure! Keep it up! Anyway, visit my page and "tell me how retarded i am." (it's just a link to my g-book, not an actual statement about myself or anything . . . well sorta)
