Hey! I see you! : D
from evry1gtsleid :
Hey! Thanks a lot for the info, I'll have to show my mom what you told me, maybe that'll help out! : D How far along are you now?
from msmmack :
That's not why I don't like Stevie Nicks, silly! : ) And I don't know the first thing about Sean Connery's private life. I just like looking at him.
from msmmack :
Just had to put me to shame, didn't ya?? : )
from catsmeow1224 :
*hugs*
from catsmeow1224 :
I shot you an email to explain. It doesn't have anything to do with you, but I just wanted to warn you that there's unfortunately going to be a great deal of nastiness in my diary for a while.
from catsmeow1224 :
Honey, Bad stuff is just oozing from that entry. I offer you all the cyber hugs you need, and an ear if you need to talk. I don't know what to do to help, but I can definitely be a listener if you need to get it off your chest. *hugs*

HEY! That crazy North Carolina place is really close to someone you know... Who was that... That lived in the South?? It's right on the tip of my tongue...

If there's anything I can do, drop me a line.
from catsmeow1224 :
I wish there was more I could do to help you. I know how you feel though, with the loneliness. Is it just me or does it get worse when the sun sets?
from catsmeow1224 :
I hear ya sweetie.

I hear ya on the Reagan thing. Watching them march his casket to the Capital Building, I cried. I wasn't even sure why, being that to me, he fell in the category of childhood memories with Michael Jackson's Thriller and Monchichis. But, it hit me hard. I hate having to face the fact that we all grow up.
from catsmeow1224 :
Yay for the recent health kick. I've had one myself, but it's mostly just 'healthy' icecream with fat free caramel sauce. : )

Hello, your review is up! Thank you for your patience. Im sorry about the delay! Sara
from catsmeow1224 :
I haven't heard from you in a while. I'm just wondering how things are for ya. Talk to ya later!
from catsmeow1224 :
HEATHER! GO LOOK AT MY NOTES : ) Damn we're good.
from catsmeow1224 :
You know, I've always wondered what the people who do those tests would consider too much tv. Considering the average attention span for a child watching Sesame Street is 7 minutes. Robin likes to have the TV on all the time, but she doesn't actually watch it all the time. She just uses it as background noise, and occasionally, something will catch her attention. But I agree, how does PBS rot their brains in relation to say... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Sonic The Hedgehog? I would think that the learning would atleast boost SOMETHING to make it a bit better. Eh, who knows??
from catsmeow1224 :
I haven't heard from you in a while. I hope everything's ok there. I was hoping to see you online yesterday, but I guess you didn't go to your mom's. Drop me a line when you get this to let me know you're not pushing up daisies.

hey, your aunt sounds like my mom. My mom is a bit of a frustrated drama queen. INtentionally blosw things out of proportion just so she can have a scene and be the center of attenion. For what it's worth, I just say sorry and don't give it any more energy. She's gonna do what she's gonna do, so I try not to react. Hope this isn't to personal.

Well, the word buzzing around here is that the Marines are going in to seek and destroy kind of mission to take out anything that gets in their way. As for what the Marines do, they're trained to kill as much as possible as fast as possible. That's the only reason to send them anywhere. It's why they're the first in and the first out. Once the smoke clears, they've done their jobs. As for sending home the Army, heck no... we need SOMEONE there. But the troops they have there now need a break. They need to rotate them more. The ones there are burnt out and we have people here who want to go give them a break. But, yeah, for the most part, the Marines have been gone for a while. There are still a few units there, but not the ones who do the killing. Just the ones that hold stuff together.

I think Autumn was my favorite thing about Kent. I loved walking around when it was too sunny for a jacket, but still too cold not to wear one. I loved watching the leaves blow across the roads there. Ah... Kent. By the way... It's mid-eighties here (insert evil laugh)!

from catsmeow1224 :
Aw, honey! I didn't think you were trying to say anything about it. I understand that you just needed to get that out. In the same token, I don't quite understand how things happened the way they did and why stories conflict so greatly. I'm left wondering if maybe someone at Saturn was fueling the fire between them. I wonder if people weren't telling Jeff one thing and telling Kyle something else to keep the 'entertainment' going. I really wouldn't put it past people. Especially what I remember of THOSE people. They were not nice. But anyway, it leaves me wondering what REALLY happened. It's good to know what Jeff's said about it all, because it's stuff we haven't heard before. But, it's over and we can't change what happened back then. In so many ways, though, him getting fired was a blessing. He found a job that paid twice as much and gave us better insurance after he'd been there for six months. Not to mention the kick ass holiday parties. Who0ohooOoo!! It's all good. Everything happens for a reason. : ) Are you jazzed for Halloween??
from kitchenwitch :
I locked my diary. Email me if you want the password. Love ya! Hopefully this will be temporary!
from catsmeow1224 :
I just wanted to add one bit of info in this that may make things click a bit better. When Unemployment did the research, they also interviewed people, co-workers and supervisors. The story the supervisors told them was that Kyle was fired because they didn't have anywhere to transfer him. When asked why they didn't just keep him onboard, no one could answer that, hence, unlawful termination. There was never mention made in the report about a hostile work environment by anyone interviewed, and we never mentioned it either, so as far as unemployment knew, there never was one. I don't know. There was also speculation that it had to do with the fact that it was the end of the year and if they canned Kyle that day, they wouldn't have to pay his insurance for the next year. It was a good time for a clear cut, only, that was never substantiated, so I left that part out altogether. When the lawyer came to talk to Jeff, was that before or after Kyle got fired? If it was before, Kyle has no idea what that was about. A lawyer never came to talk to him. If it was after, it might not have been a lawyer, so much as the Unemployment, er, employee. But then again, if they came to Jeff saying anything about a hostile environment, it would have been in the report they sent us. I really don't know, but I'm with you that it's over and rightfully so. We can't change the things that happened back then, but we can choose to not let them to continue to influence us today. : )
from catsmeow1224 :
I know! I have no idea who that person is or what they read, but they were very happy with me. Guestbooks are being stupid again, so someone signs, thinks it didn't go through and then heads to the notes. I've gotten a few double messages that way. Sheesh. As for the jobby job... eh. I think what that was all REALLY about was that Kyle wants me to stay home too. We just really don't have an alternative, unless I start child care and you know how much I love other people's children!!! As for unemployment, yeah, we didn't even know we could do such a thing until we got the letter. Bob Tompson asked us if we intended on suing when we did the first paperwork for the bankruptcy, but we told him no. We really didn't think we would stand a chance against such a big company with such a good reputation. We just thought we'd take it up the rear. When we got the letter, we immediately called Bob and told him. He asked to see the letter and when he did, he set us up with a lawyer who dealt with those kinds of cases, because he doesn't. But he also told us it would just be a moral victory because we'd never see a dime of the money. We were so stressed out that we decided it wasn't worth the energy just to make a point and we let them get away with it. Bob still has the letter in our file. I'm glad the whole time period is over.

from lunaua :
It's good to see that the two most insignificant things I said were taken out of my response and amplified against me (i.e., yada, yada and tree-hugger). Let's see what you do with this one: ~*~Blows Raspberries~*~
from boyfromks :
I said Secretary of Defense, I meant Secretary of State could explain the lack of a real threat. I'm sorry for any confusion that may have caused.
from boyfromks :
I'm glad you can easily dismiss me as a tree hugger. Maybe later we can discuss the role that problems of intergenerational bargaining and credible commitments play in solving collective action problems related to deforestation and common pool resource problems related to forestry management. Ya think? I'm ready. Public policy is never a black and white issue. I guess you see things in simple, partisan terms. That's fine. Yada yada yada was a funny Seinfeld episode, but not very effective as an argument. I'm glad you can easily dismiss me as a tree huger. That really does a good job of addressing the points I raised. You said lying to the American people was justified because Saddam Hussein was an evil person that was going to start lobbing chemical and biological weapons at the United States and King George the Second saved us from that. I look forward to similar actions in Myanmar, Liberia, North Korea, China, Indonesia, Venezuela, Congo, Rawanda, Burundei, and the multitudes of other autocratic regimes in the world. In my comment, I said the Georgie's own Secretary of State said that Saddam was no such threat. You respond with yada yada yada. Jerry Seinfeld would be proud. You ask how I drew those conclusions from your entries? Because those were the logical implications of your argument. Otherwise, your argument made no logical sense. Yada yada yada, indeed. You complained about the selective knowledge of liberals. I thought you would appreciate some factual evidence, like Georgie's Secretary of Defense. The funniest thing about your diary, is that when someone actually tries to discuss your ideas, you respond with ad hominem fallacies. I'll leave it to the yada yada yadas to explain that to you. If small minds discuss people, I guess that leaves you . . . ?
from lunaua :
*~*Laughing hysterically~*~ How on earth did you get that?!? That's not at all what I was implying, but thanks for reading the WHOLE entry for content and comprehension! Have a nice day!
from boyfromks :
In your "Liberals Suck" entry, you noted that: "If I'm going to die at the hands of terrorists, I want to be paying $0.99 per gallon of high-grade gasoline when I'm gagging on chemical weapons." This implies that either Iraq was going to attack us with chemical weapons, or would provide them to terrorists, who would use them against us. This is interesting, as Sec. of State Powell didn't really think Saddam was a threat. "We had a good discussion, the foreign minister and I and the president and I, had a good discussion about the nature of the sanctions -- the fact that the sanctions exist -- not for the purpose of hurting the Iraqi people, but for the purpose of keeping in check Saddam Hussein's ambitions toward developing weapons of mass destruction. We should constantly be reviewing our policies, constantly be looking at those sanctions to make sure that they are directed toward that purpose. That purpose is every bit as important now as it was 10 years ago when we began it. And frankly they have worked. He has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project conventional power against his neighbors." -Sec. of State Colin Powell, 24 February 2001 For the full text of the news conference, see the transcript at the US State Dept: http://www.state.gov/secretary/rm/2001/933.htm The second point is tenuous as well, as the links between Iraq and terrorists was weak, if there at all. Well, at least before we invaded and Bush told terrorists to "bring it on." The New York Times (September 18th, p. A22, column 4) notes: "Mr. Cheney, on 'Meet the Press' on NBC-TV, was asked about polls that showed that a majority of Americans believed that Mr. Hussein had been involved in the attacks. 'I think it's not surprising that people make that connection,' said Mr. Cheney, who leads the hawkish wing of the Bush administration. Asked whether the connection existed, Mr. Cheney said, 'We don't know.' He described Mr. Hussein's reported connections to Al Qaeda, connections that American intelligence analysts say were not very deep. Mr. Bush, asked by a reporter today about that statement, said, 'No, we've had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with September the 11th,' a far more definitive statement than the vice president's." Again, the administration overstates its intelligence for political gain. You justify his initial lie with arguments based on further lies. I'd say that violates his OATH of office as President. History will judge him harsher than any court of law would for perjury.
from catsmeow1224 :
OH, one more thing I do want to add... A bunch of soldiers in Iraq told reporters that they were pissed and wanted to come home, but not because they didn't want to fight. They were mad that they'd been there way longer than they were supposed to be. They want a new wave of troops to take over, not to leave Iraq all together. So if someone makes that point, that's what their motives are in being pissed. "We've done our job, let us go see our families and bring in some replacements till we can recoup and come back" kinda thing.
from catsmeow1224 :
Along with the shit bags, there are the people who signed up just to get the Montgomery GI bill. Those 'soldiers' usually get their asses kicked by the real warriors in the military. At the first order to go somewhere hostile, they tuck tail and file to get out of the military, siting religious reasons. If it's against your religion to fight for your country, what in the hell are you doing in the military??? Bleh. Anyway, love your argument, as usual. : )
from lunaua :
Yada, yada...
from shesajar :
Ive been giving what you wrote back to me about Clinton some thought. Your argument has been made time and time again in the face of any republican scandal. And I think for the record, I need to say this: I wish that Clinton never got all those BJs and lied about it when asked under oath. But not really because I dont like BJs. Contrarily, I like BJs. And not even because he lied about BJs under oath. But because no one will ever shut up about it ever again! A century from now, people will still bring up lying about oral sex in comparison to things that really should matter to us. But Clinton lied about getting a hummer! Call me crazy, but I got over it. What upsets me now, though?... Bush has brought us into a rather costly war through lies. LIES. Our military men continue to die and thousands of innocent Iraqis as well. Millions of jobs have been lost through one of the worst economies since the Great Depression as we dole out billions for the war effort and big business subsidies. Weve become an isolated country among even our friends. Afghanistan was never rebuilt. Iraq never will be. Over 40 million Americans are without healthcare. Yeah, I am over the fellatio and I am really ready for a change.

from catsmeow1224 :
I couldn't do that, sweetheart. I'd be meddling if I did. I trust that you're gonna take care of business. I will just stay in my little niche of the country and worry here. : )
from lunaua :
Holy Freakin' Cow, Man!!!! OH MY GOD! I haven't read the below entry in my notes and I don't know if I will because I'M TIRED OF ALL OF YOU LIBERAL ASSHOLES MAKING ASSUMPTIONS AND SNAP JUDGEMENTS WITHOUT LOOKING AT ALL OF THE GODDAM FACTS! YOU PICK OUT THE LITTLE BITS AND PIECES THAT MAKE YOUR ARGUMENT STRONG AND FUCK THE REST! That's the last time I leave a note in someone's diary when I was just randomly passing through. I don't even want to know...
from shesajar :
I am not sure I can ever give the guy a break. Hes sorta responsible for a lot of things being the president of one of (if not the most) powerful country in the world. I could write a pretty lengthily list of how hes failed that job, but somehow I get the impression that it would only cause bad feelings between strangers. This is not my aim. I just wanted to point out, though, a case for Michael Moores #1 reason. I think George W. Bushs inability to have intelligent public discourse with just about every kind person and about every single subject is very disconcerting as someone he represents. Lets accept right off hand that he isnt a heartless bastard who laughs at the deaths of thousands (which many would argue is true). The fact that he would tell such an utterly distasteful story is a really good indicator that hes really incompetent diplomatically. Not to mention the thousands of other examples hes given us already that diplomacy and public speaking surely are not his strong suit. And oftentimes, as a shy person, the same goes for me. However, I am not the president of the USA. And being critical of such a thing isn't overstepping any bounds in my opinion.

Just a quick note to apologise about the design aspect of my review of your diary. I even remember reading 'my contributions' - but I went off and did something and when I returned to finish the review I'd completely forgotten. So apologies. I think the one thing that sticks out in my head re: High School Advisors is Mr. Correll telling John that he might as well drop out because he would never amount to anything in his life. I completely agree that SOME college is a good thing, because you can atleast say then that you tried it and it just wasn't what you wanted. Hence my three years at Kent. I just have issues with pigeon holing. Home Ec has completely been weeded out and is only taken by 'slackers' who are looking for a quick credit.
from catsmeow1224 :
Not everyone can be a full time mother. The world needs full time doctors and police and microbiologists to keep us all safe. Everyone's path is different. That's why it frustrates me that mine is looked down on. I have so much respect for people in general, for having the guts to stand up and do what they want regardless of how 'society' deems it. If you never have children, someone will undoubtedly try to make it look like you're less of a woman for not doing so. But I don't see it that way at all. It takes a strong woman to stand up and say "That's fine for you, but it's not for me, and I'm not going to conform my life to your expectations."
from catsmeow1224 :
: ) I remember perfectly what I said. I also remember that I wasn't very honest back then. I always held my tongue because I didn't want people to look at me as lazy. Even now, that's how my father views me. I tried to do the *right* thing and it was never what I wanted. When I always wished that I'd be childless, I really just wanted my children to be different. Much like yourself, I can't stand children. People look at me like I'm a horrible mother when I say that, but I mean that I don't like OTHER people's children. I love mine more than I could ever express. It was about being pressured that I would be nothing if I didn't go to college. The importance of a degree was crammed down our throats, and it made me feel wrong to want to just be a mother and wife... end of job description. But yes, I remember. (:

Ok. I'm going to try really hard not to sound conceited here, but I can't help but feel like your self-deception entries are about me, in one way or another. If they are, infact, I think we should talk about it, or maybe it's not something you want to talk about and would rather let it go. That's fine with me if that's what you want to do, but I would like to talk about it. This is all assuming, of course, that I'm right in my inclination and not just inserting myself where someone else is meant to go. I can't stress enough that the issues that Kyle and I are having look really bad right now, but in reality, they're very mild *and necessary to making our relationship better*. If you're feeling that my 'change' is nothing more than self-deception, or that your trust in my 'change' is self-deception, I really think we need to work this out. You're my closest friend, and it will really hurt if our friendship dies over the issues between Kyle and I. If I'm totally off target, I apologize, but today when I re-read your entry, a light when on and I started to panic. I'm really sorry, Heather, if this is the way you feel. I just don't know what I can do.

But maybe you already know that. : )

Damn, that sounds like one ruff night. When I was younger, mebbe eleven, my momma woke me up @ 0300 hours out of a deep sleep and told me to put on shoes and run downstairs and held my father bail out the kitchen. We had recently got our house redone [coquina on the outside] and they had missed a spot, leading a huge river right into our kitchen by way of underneath a china cabinet. And btw, I lived on the third floor and got ants in my roomie's beanbag. *sighs* Glad you got it all fixed!
