10/5/17 Glad to see you here - and get you with different writing in different places! I don't get on with grammarly either - I like my dashes too much xx
from annanotbob2 :
15th March - I do hope you feel better soon. Finland sounds great - and if you come to England we must meet up! I'd offer to put you up but I know this place is not remotely accessible. Yay! xxx
from annanotbob2 :
Feb 11th I hope you got to sleep after writing. I am so glad you've come to the part where you can live for yourself, you are a blessing to so many of us, even though you are far away. Big love, Mel xxx

Yeah. xx Jan28th xx
from dangerspouse :
Y'know, sometimes venting your frustrations with a good blast of ear splitting drama makes one feel a whole lot better, at least temporarily. I say you should go for it. It doesn't mean you're not grateful for the positive things in your life. In fact, constantly suppressing negative feelings probably just adds to them. Let it out, babe! :)
from dangerspouse :
Awwww, good Kitten! I'm glad she's there to warm you up a bit. Aren't old radio shows great? I wish they'd do that kind of thing more often. You could really get lost in those old dramas. "Theater of the mind", indeed. All the best to you, babe :)
from annanotbob2 :
Hugs, darling. The end of being that kind of a mum is quite shocking. I'm glad you have the sense to explore it a bit now, ahead of time - I didn't and it was so hard. xxx
from dangerspouse :
((( hugs ))) Hang in there, babe. I do hope you get to see your Finnish friend. :)
from dangerspouse :
Oh no - a HAND infection? That sounds awful! Good lord, I hope you beat that one soon. Will bread pudding help? I can mail you out the last slice. Just give the word (before I demolish it)!

I'm so sorry. Hands or no hands, people love you...although that sometimes seems like small succor when we're denied the day-to-day activities we love. At least know some fat middle aged white guy halfway around the world is thinking of you and wishing you relief, physical and mental.
from dangerspouse :
How is it that such an apparently vile woman was able to raise such a sweet girl like you? It's very, very sad to hear that she's still a controlling force in your life after all these decades. I'm glad you got the air conditioner though. I hope that raises your comfort level. And I REALLY hope TH gets that job - soon! Terrible to kept on tenterhooks like that. All the best.
from dangerspouse :
I'm glad things are at least marginally better for you (and Samantha!). I didn't know you had a farm in MA. I guess I only started reading you fairly recently though, so that makes sense. Lol...I can't read the link you posted to the other diary, since it's locked. Oh well :)
from dangerspouse :
Hey, thanks for the sweet note, kiddo. I really appreciate the sentiment :)
from life-my-way :
Wishing you an easier time of reaching out and making contact; may typing become easier. I've missed reading about Israel and hearing about you and your family. Your voice is too wonderful for it to be silenced, so hoping a way presents itself. Voice recognition? Anyway, miss you when you're gone and happy when you return. XOXO from x the pond.
from life-my-way :
I just saw your sweet note. Have been doing better but was feeling a decline coming on making your message especially kind and well timed. It's been great to see your name lit up in red some recently. It would be great if you were able to write more for dland; you have always been one of my favorite reads. {{{{{{{Mel}}}}}}} from across the pond

I've been away for a while due to injury, but I can't tell you how nice it was to read that you're doing better once I returned. Glad you find the hydrotherapy and acupuncture give you some relief. Hope it lasts!
from candora :
Inspiring as ever. I find myself back here reading like I used to after years of being elsewhere. Candoor (my long lost diary here) seems to be calling for a recap of my wanderings here (Even though I am logged in with my first account, Candora at the moment). I can be so confusing sometimes. Seriously, thank you for continuing to inspire me to continue smiling at the world. :)

You poor thing. I can't imagine what you are going through. You're braver than I. Bravo to you for still managing to come here and post the occasional entry, given the effort it takes. I do hope you find some succor, and support from family and friends. I'm glad you can work the joystick control better, so that's something. My thoughts will be with you.
from dangerspouse :
Thanks very much! That was so sweet of you to stop by and wish me that :)
from dangerspouse :
Three prolapsed disks in your neck? Oh my god, you poor thing. I hope P/T gives you some relief, particularly to your left hand. You've been through so much. Good luck...and soon!

Oh man, you poor thing! Listen, next time you win a free flight to anywhere, fly over here to northern New Jersey. You can relax and stitch with my wife, and best of all: we've got function windows AND heat! You'll love it!!
from dangerspouse :
Thanks for the "Good Luck" wishes, kiddo! Lol...sorry it didn't turn out quite how I expected, but that's life, right? Hope you're well :)

God, I hope he doesn't end up in St. Louis - especially with winter weather just around the corner. But even without that, St. L. is still pretty hellish. Great BBQ though, I'll give 'em that. Good luck - hope it's Manila instead!
from annanotbob2 :
Ooh, it's nice having you writing here again. Maybe it won't be so bad seeing RS when you're in control of when you leave? You're also a good writer and a good knitter, just off the top of my head. Love xxx

My wife, early in my marriage, said to me once "You can be right, or you can be happy" in response to some point I was making about an incorrect assertion of hers. Thank god I took that to heart. All these years later I have many memories of us ending up in wrong places, buying wrong products, making idiotic decisions...but no memories (well, remarkably few) of fighting. And I'll say this also: it goes both ways. My wife has conceded when she I knew I was about to do something extraordinarily boneheaded, but I was passionate enough about it that arguing with me would produce nothing except ruffled plumage. I hope you guys get to that point someday too. AFTER you get your window and electricity, that is :)
from dangerspouse :
Thank you for the note! I'm so happy you enjoyed my silly little scribblings. That made me happy - almost as happy as reading you'll start blogging again. Yay! :)

Sending wishes for extra good luck with the van and lots of sleep when that's over. I'm sorry about the tears and hope the sadness passes, or that you can outrun it in your new van.

Happy Yom haAtzma'ut to you! There is no reason you can't tell this guy who thinks it's okay to rail on you for being overweight that he is out of line. You don't need to take it sitting down (even if you *are* sitting down). A simple, This is none of your business. Leave me alone, should suffice.

Aw man, walking! Well done you - so good to read that. Hope all goes well tomorrow xxxxx

I would love it if you posted pictures of your finished knitting projects. Right now I am working on a shawl with the most excruciating lace pattern. I have a deadline (April 15) since it is part of a knit-along on Ravelry, and there's a raffle involved with some sweet prizes. And I just started the second sleeve of my green top. So much knitting, so little time!
from annanotbob2 :
I'm not into trance (takes me straight back to my first big breakdown, when I listened to it a lot) but love me some hip-hop, so long as I can't hear the words, which are often vile. Dr Dre, Snoop - love the sound and the rhythm. Hope you feel perkier soon xxxxx

Being a parent with a healthy body is difficult enough. I can only imagine the trial that it is when you are disabled. The fact that your kids have grown up to be happy, healthy and decent people is a testimony to more than your child-care abilities. It shows that you have a special relationship with them that transcends merely changing diapers and cleaning up vomit. I salute you.
from elgan :
Linda is my best friend since the age of 10. It would take a lot more than that to affect our relationship. I appreciate your comments, and I actually enjoy watching a conversation develop because of my blog. No worries. I will check out this other knitting place you mention.

Thanks for your note. I hardly ever use the email account my Diarlyand email gets sent to, so I missed your first note until just today, otherwise I would have said something sooner. Ive changed it, so Ill get notifications at the other address. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Hi. You don't know me, but I have been on Diaryland for a very long time, and still post links to my diary, which I have moved elsewhere, whenever I update. For some reason unknown to me, your name always appears in bold in the menus in the right margin, so I clicked on a recent entry and now have put you in my buddy list. I have a brother and a best friend, both living in Israel for many long years, Canadian ex-pats, and I was last to visit two summers ago. I enjoy your blog. Thank you.

hi Mel, glad that you are having a few more good days. Every time I read that you are busy knitting, I think that I should get knitting myself. I knit scarves, do you need one? YOU GOT A RICE COOKER!! Alright, the world is NOT all bad then! Lol...thank you for the note. Aren't rice cookers awesome, I mean really, really awesome? I swear, if mine could do laundry too I'd divorce my wife in a heartbeat. On another note: do hope your new donkey is ok. I'll never understand how anyone can be so blatantly cruel, as the previous owner must have been. You're an amazing person to take over the task of rehabilitation, particularly given your financial straights. My best wishes to you.

hi Mel, I go through swings of wondering who the heck reads me also. I just keep writing here because it is easiest and I know how it works. Thanks for the comment about the pets. Sadie sat out in one of the doggie beds today, so she was very happy. Taffy got out for a bit, and Malcolm just stays near me, I picked up pinecones and small branches today for awhile. The stuff about D3 is terrifying for me, as I know that she and Jooj are the same age and I cannot even BEGIN to imagine Jooj in the army (or driving a car!). Gah, I love your blog and I couldn't agree with you more about pediatricians. I have a general dislike for doctors, though, so I'm probably biased. The idea that a one month old should be holding their head up is absolutely ridiculous. And failing to thrive because you were breastfeeding at six months? Don't tell that doctor that my six month old's primary source of nutrition (as recommended by WHO) is breastmilk and the only reason he has solids is to keep him busy during meal times. Whoops, did I say that aloud? ANYWAY! You definitely brought up something that gets me all riled up! I don't know if I can get off this soapbox though, I think I'm stuck. HELP!
