thanks for updating! it's great to read of your adventures :)
from sls :
oh wow, baltimore winter sounds like new haven winter--especially the poor sidewalk snow hygiene. mounds of ice... grrr. the photo, oh wow i remember that night at the drive in. you and me and bo in his pickup truck. so fucking white trash :) nope. not the same place. this is the concession stand at the highschool stadium in my neighborhood. i swear to god, before we are both elderly i am going to come and visit you! xoxox siri
from sls :
wow your nintendog is so cute! congrats on the fame! that article has made me want to get a nintendog, too! shall i use more exclaimation points?!! yes!! xoxo
from sls :
mary, thanks for the sweet note. i miss you too! i keep meaning to schedule a roadtrip to baltimore but money always gets in the way. now that i graduated i will be seeking a 'real' job, so hopefully by autumn i will have the finances to come see you. i am glad to be your flickr friend, too! xoxo siri
from sls :
wow! that house is so cute. you are properly domestic!
from samueltobin :
happy birthday, why wont your password work?
from laura-jane :
Happy Birthday, Mr. MFM!
from msamy :
I will happily give you the hat pattern...it is knit on two needles, though, not in the round. I do have a really super easy hat pattern for knitting in the round, though, if you'd like it. Lemme know!
from msamy :
the 'thing' on sunday night was a show that i was in with lexie and her roommate and some others. i didn't tell a lot of people cause it was going to cost money and i wasn't sure what the end result was going to be. a few people came, and our "performance" was over within 10 minutes. so, that is that! but we should hang out soon. when you are better and i am better. we are both sickies. xoxoxoxoxoxo
from sls :
mary, you have me coveting this baltimore perfume, and i don't even know what it smells like. your enthusiasm for it is contagious. i have about a week of vacation time coming to me, and i was thinking that it would be cool to take a roadtrip and visit you in baltimore. would that be cool? i'd probably be able to come down on a thursday or friday and then leave on sunday (due to my taking a class on mon/wed.). i don't want to impose but i'd love love love to see you and it would be great to get out of new haven for a few days. love, siri
from msamy :
Damn...Is S *really* working at WalMart? Let's have coffee sometime, miss. We obviously have a lot to catch up on.
from laura-jane :
Hee! That's funny. I like that I was so demanding in my last post for information, too. I suppose that I see the word cat and I immediately think 'Punkin'! I agree with your advice, now that I really stop to think about it. I think there are about 6 kittens, and that could quickly turn into 36 kittens, which isn't good for anybody. SPCA it is! I hope all is well in Baltimore. xxoo, Laura-Jane
from laura-jane :
...Meaning that perhaps they won't make it on their own!? I know nothing about cats. Should we be phoning the SPCA? Should I feed them..? Eek! Now you've got me worried, which is good if I am supposed to be worried.
from cdghost :
stumbled across your words and enjoyed reading them
from msamy :
good luck, sweet lady!
from laura-jane :
Luck!
from sls :
dear mary, i'm so sorry i missed your call. i'm house/cat sitting for my friends and haven't been home at all this past week except to pop in and grab clean underwear and socks, feed my own cat, and check the messages. could you email me your phone number and i'll call you from here (my friend's) as i don't want to schlep (sp?) back to my apt. again today (i forgot to get it earlier)? i miss you and wish my job situation weren't so confining time-wise so that i could make the not-too-epic journey to b'more to see you after all these years! argh. love, siri...p.s. did you see the a.n.t.m. finale? i wanted yoanna to win, but now that she is no longer an 'underdog' i am finding myself disliking her.....
from sls :
ok, i'm too tired to spell... but too anal to not correct my last message. i meant 'croci.' oy...
from sls :
thanks mary! yes, i made the postcard. i hate to demystify its charms, but it's just rubber stamped images. i have this cool text rubber stamp also that lets you insert letters to spell out words, hence 'nervous.' i'm so glad you liked it! and i'm jealous that you have daffodils down there. we have only just gotten our crocuses (cruci?). love, siri
from sls :
hi mary, have you received my postcard yet?

'Box of Insane and Stupendous Bounty Arrives in Good Stead..!', 'Exclamation of Utter Shock and Awe Resounds!', 'Woman Had Expected Postcard or Tiny Goody!', 'Woman Experiences Snake Oil For First Time!', 'Woman Grateful for "Pick-Me-Up" After Bad Day', 'MFM Wins, Landslide Victory', By Laura-Jane Koers, In-House Newsie
from laura-jane :
Thanks for your note re: mail en route--exciting and well-timed! Mailing to my home address is absolutely fine. I'll be sure to tag you back when I receive it. Hope all is well, <3 Laura-Jane
from little-so :
Yahoo mail is good - i have had it for years and i like it a lot. you can forward whatever/however you want, too. mail.yahoo.com
from msamy :
Actually...I spoke too soon. I can't go on Saturday. Bah. Sunday is still fine, though! Yesss!
from msamy :
I will go on Saturday OR Sunday!
from samueltobin :
whats garage-band?
from laura-jane :
I am groggy as I JUST woke up, and your translation made me laughlaughlaugh. It figures. And--what sick fools have the audacity to weasel better grades (A-'s to A's)?! I can barely work up the courage to say hello to my Profs in the hall. My birthday is on February 17th. I hope Baltimore is treating you well!
from samueltobin :
what is tang10? some sort of super tang? or a drug? a street drug made out of tang?
from sls :
happy birthday mary! that is so melancholy about captain kangaroo dying on your birthday. it feels like the end of an era (as it did when mr. rogers passed). i hope you don't take it as having some grim meaning about how old we'76ers are getting, or how far from childhood we are. (this is something i tend to do on my birthdays). you are a fierce, brilliant, beautiful soul who (not to sound too much like a self-help/oprah parrot) keeps getting stronger and better with age. i hope you have a birthday filled with love and optimism, or at least a strong dose of irony. love always, siri
from mugwhump :
Happy Birthday! Celebrate it well!
from laura-jane :
I'm glad it arrived safely, and before your birthday to boot! They just changed the postal rates here, and I was worried that I hadn't included enough postage for it to make it to Baltimore. I hope you have a wonderful Birthday! <3
from laura-jane :
This would be your birthday approaching on the 23rd of January?
from msamy :
m'lady...i shall call you later on tonight. get ready!
from laura-jane :
Damn Handymen!
from sls :
dear mary, i'm sorry to hear about the diabetes. but i have hope for you: my stepmom's friend bev had a diabetic cat and by feeding it a holistic home-cooked food diet that included greenbeans (i kid you not) it regulated the diabetes without insulin shots. i can give you her number if you want as she is a turbo-cat-lover and could be a great resource. on another note, i was thinking of coming to visit you in bmore some time. i've never been there and miss you! i'll call you soon--it is overwhelming to think of how much there is to catch up on. love always, siri
from laura-jane :
Aw, Punkin..

Your prowess re: crafty Halloween cards astounds me! Thank you..! I received your card a while ago, but I wanted to surprise you with a mail-thank you without mentioning anything. However, I haven't sent you anything in return yet (because I am lazy and weirdly unmotivated), so I figured I should thank you here first. Yes. Excellent card, wonderful words, amazing pictures. How does one get tiny pictures like that..? Colour negatives..? I love them--very craft-like and useful, I should think. I hope all is well. Expect mail (relatively) soon..!

from msamy :
Lovely lady, Do you still want to knit some tonight? Watch some movie? Early early? I hope you are feeling better by the afternoon, and I'm quite sorry to hear about your 'woes'. Sigh and kiss!
from laura-jane :
Congratulations on your Stats results! Receiving 88% on a test where calculators were involved is equivalent to having achieved an A+ whilst being pummelled in the temples and having someone whisper wrong numbers in both ears--in my book, anyway. All semblances of math elude me. So, a stones throw from Victoria, are you..? Does that mean you'll come visit? Do. Looking foreward to receiving mail--big or small.

from laura-jane :
Aw, thank you for the cake-flattery..! (I am still quite smitten myself.) It was my very first fancy cake, and it was sort of a fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants affair. I just baked two run of the mill boxed chocolate cakes, and made a batch of standard icing sugar/butter/vanilla icing. I then stuck the two cakes atop one another with white icing, and then added cocoa to to the rest of it. After icing, I decided that it looked about the shape of a pillbox hat, and just traced a ribbon around the edge with pecans (it was either pecans or marshmellows, the only other option). I would have liked to improvise some coconut lace, but I thought that sounded a little too risky for a first timer. And that, my friend, is the story of the cake. In other news, due to your recent Scrabble reference, you've inspired in me a need to purchase and play Scrabble in the very near future. Take care, and, as always, I enjoy your diary immensely.
from msamy :
Yeah, I read the Nanny diaries when I was home on vacation. I somehow had to read it all, but it DID suck. It sucked a big one. And just think, it took TWO people to write it. Yeah.
from little-so :
Thank you for your words of support - I was watching Homicide reruns and I am so homesick right now, especially that S. Mule is gone back to NYC and I am across an ocean. Phoooooooey. Plus I think I got a sickness from those chicken innard sausages. Or maybe a dirty salad. Ugh. I miss you guys! Big Hugs to you and to E.
from msamy :
I can't believe she was his neice. Un-fucking-real. I am shaking my head. In disbelief.
from mosescone :
what is a holga? I saw those clogs at the store in winchester. the caramel, if I recall, is very light beigey-brown. it's not the same as the other dansko brown. in case that was a query or some such shit. danskos!
from mosescone :
well, why would you think it was cordy if you think it's season 5? sometimes, people do nt understand that one can always find another character -- and why not faith?!? the puppet? you play as the puppet? weeeird! I wanna play!
from mosescone :
mfm! I think that can't be season 5, cause it has that scary puppet! which is season 1 or 2, right? Or is that something else. spike loooks cute, though. and isn't the girl in the sportsbra cordelia? I don't understand -- does that make it season 4? oh, I want the game, though. do the actors themselves dot he voiceovers? that would make it worth it.
from mosescone :
thank you mfm. I am taping buffy again tonight, so: cableised, if you want it.
from mosescone :
I have that buffy for you. whenever, wherever, it's yours. I think you're rad!
from mosescone :
of course yuou can borry my buffy. it has a lame ep of will + grace on before it (upn = dogshit on taping, adn i can't work VCRs) but faith is HO, babe. Faith = Hot. House party! call me Kid</P> or Play </P> or 'N<p>
from little-so :
OK, I just took the Hell Quiz and it was lame. I have never made a journal banner. Fuckers.
from mosescone :
MFM! dishwashers = the bomb. you should cart dishes over to us to wash, ha. IiII want to see the Other Mosscone (note absence of letter, eh)!
from mosescone :
WAS it a rerun? I didn't think so. I taped it, but have not watched it. WHO impregnanted charisma? Her hair SUX!@
from msamy :
I don't know how? I'm very challenged in the html department, to the point where all I did was follow the instructions on the website. So no, text box is staying as is. But burgers! And giant pickles! yeahyeah, talk very soons! xoxo
from mosescone :
