from myra-lee :
Dear Mrs. Monkey, Please forgive me for the extreme tardiness of this response to your monkey plate query. I would gladly have given you the hideous monkey plates given to me by my dad's crazy girlfriend. Unfortunately, my husband (tired of hearing me complain) gave them to a friend of ours. Perhaps I should e-mail you some photos and you will see that these plates are unwantable. I hope all is well with you and yours. I have not forgotten that I am about two years late in sending you a promised CD. Have you moved yet? If no, I will send it. I promise!
from reddirtgirl :
I'm with you--I work to live. And I love my job, but I certainly hope that whatever crap comes up in my personal life, it will always be more interesting than work. p.s. I'm most like Miranda. But they're barely certain. ;)
from mrs-roboto :
I think Scott is the exception and people like you and I are the norm. I work to live and if I can make a living doing something meaningful, all the better. But yeah, I have to force myself to go to work every day. Hang in there hugaboo.
from mrs-roboto :
Monkey, I know you are busy busy but I wanted to ask if you had any interest in participating in planning an event for GOTR? I was talking to Amanda last night about putting together a show to benefit GOTR. Not sure what the duties will be but I wanted to let you in on this in case I can get it off the ground. Let me know what you think.
from mrs-roboto :
I actually have tickets already as Pete and I are going. Do you wanna come?
from mrs-roboto :
I wasn't necessarily referring to you or anyone specific at all. It's definitely a more generally disconnected feeling. I feel pretty awful about not inviting you to the cabin for my b-day (which had little to do with Ana and more to do with the fact that you seemed to nesting). I will never make assumptions like that again though. I should ask, period. Also there is wine and scrabble but not much sexing - it's pretty PG 13 (mostly for language). I need to do some heavy thinking these days and I kind of vomitted emotion all over my diary. It really wasn't my intention. Sigh. I'll see you tommorrow. PS My meeting got cancelled so we can go earlier if it's more convenient.
from reddirtgirl :
By the way, in regards to cabins--the only reason you and Scott didn't get an original invite to the cabin experience last weekend was because Holly planned the whole thing. Richard and I were mere stowaways. You will always be invited on my group getaways, I promise.
from reddirtgirl :
HA. Maybe Orange Guy has Mr. Jay disease. (That's a Top Model joke.) Anyway, don't worry about the job thing! I get a new job every other day--there's no way any human can keep up, much less make a big deal about it. If I'd had a bunch of stories from the first day, I'd have told them. Besides, I'm perfectly fine with just making the deal that all of us will just tell each other whatever we want without waiting around to be asked. It's simpler that way.
from mrs-roboto :
you are right - I miss you too. I'll call you today.
from mrs-roboto :
okay so what's your work schedule so we can knuckle down and come up with a hanging out plan?
from reddirtgirl :
Aww. Don't move to Carnation! Move to Seattle! I will babysit for free!
from itzie :
Wow, that's what I do all day too. Except that I help the crazy ladies get the babies.
from reddirtgirl :
I forgot that you'd probably have a better memory of that crazy costume than I do! Yes, I must have been some kind of elf. By the way, your weird habits are not so much weird as TOTALLY ADORABLE.
from mrs-roboto :
I know, it's been too long. Re: you sister -gah. She's so smart and pretty and funny - why???!!!!
from mrs-roboto :
Wow! A raise! Drinks are on you! Okay, I cannot believe they gave you .08 cents as a cost of living increase. And where on earth is Northup?
from mrs-roboto :
I'll see what magic I can work but first I got to get my gifts off to her as thanks.
from mrs-roboto :
I love Monkey updates too! And you are right, Willy looks especially handsome!
from reddirtgirl :
A monkey update! The silver lining.
from mrs-roboto :
oh man do I miss your updates.....we will make plans for drinks again in the very near future.
from itzie :
http://claro.diary-x.com/ She even linked to the handstand entry in the latest one!
from itzie :
I am beating you by six days!
from soapboxdiner :
Rock on, sista. I'm so glad you like!
from soapboxdiner :
My dear, the code is written with a four-cell table. To center the text box, you will have to re-write the entire document. Let me know if you'd like help. =)
from reddirtgirl :
You, me, Scott, and my boobs are going to have a great old age. I'm looking forward to it.
from libboy :
No, I mean it, thanks a lot, that's not sarcastic or anything. I appreciate the message, too. Maybe I'll see you soon...
from libboy :
And, thanks. A lot.
from libboy :
Got it.
from myra-lee :
Ha! My friend e-mailed me today and said, "My husband says my coochie is Christ-like."
from myra-lee :
Oh, I love what you just wrote about! I just had a big long conversation with a friend about how you can't allow your happiness to be determined by anyone besides yourself. I am a big believer in taking responsibility for your own happiness. I get so annoyed when people act as if the world owes them happiness and good relationships and a peaceful life. Those are things you have to choose. And you have to work hard to maintain them! And forgiveness...that's the key, I've found. I really like what you wrote about, and I also really love the quote you posted about enlightenment.. p.s. One of my dearest friends is a nanny (for a crazy L.A. entertainment lawyer's two sons - 8 months and 4 years)...her stories blow me away.
from birdgyrl :
i can dig, monkey. thank you.
from falo :
Hello MB. I just wanted to pop in and wish you a very happy wedding day, and wishes for much happiness in the future. I know it's a little early, but I suspect you may be very busy in the coming days, I didn't want to miss the opportunity.
from reddirtgirl :
(damn enter key--continuing) if you could. 3. What's your earliest memory? 4. What angers you the most in your life right now? 5. When you think about your life ten years from now, what do you hope for the most? 6. Why is RDG the greatest person you've ever met? Just kidding, there are only 5 questions.
from falo :
congrats on the A in Chem!
from reddirtgirl :
Mmmm, birdgyrl purred. ;)
from thebugprince :
'monkey' - anything works for me. Thanks for reading and linking. Seattle loves us both!

from tornskirt :
hey! thanks for understanding AND reading my diary
from myra-lee :
Hello Monkey! Thanks for the compliment on the quilt and the wellwishes re: my root canal. You know, they DIDN'T give me good meds, just extreme Ibuprofen, and I'm pretty miffed about it. I was just going to suggest you get RDG nice and drunk and then have your way with her, but Cruznmazrati's strategy sounds much better. I hope you'll let us know if it works.
from tornskirt :
hey..im glad you added me,im on yahoo alot..and i write in my journal alot..for more eyecandy you can read my live journal. www.livejournal.com/users/sourvelvet/
from cruznmazrati :
To answer your question at the end of your entry; when I messed around with RDG the way I did it was: 1) Put on Barry Manilow 2) Brut cologne 3) Recite Poetry (ie. Little miss muffitt) 4) Strawberry Hill (aka Boones) 5) Velvetta Cheese 6) More Poetry (andrew dice clay stuff works well) 7) Romantic stroll down Broadway 8) Pork loin All this seemed to work. I have now been messing around with RDG for about six months and it is um um good. Hope my advice works. Cruznmazrati
from mrs-roboto :
Man, I just wish the scouts were more liberal thinking because I almost feel like a trader going over to the Campfire girls, you know?
from mrs-roboto :
I had completely forgotten about that story. I love this part: "The mother loved both the children but she was always having to find fault with them because they were lazy and forgetful and untidy." I would kill to have my sash now. I'd totally wear it to bookgroup. BTW- I'm glad school is going so well.
from reddirtgirl :
I just noticed that my note below sounds as though I'm going to eat kiddies for lunch, which was not what I meant. Unless you bring over especially DELICIOUS kiddies. "don't pass me by, don't make me cry, don't make me blue . . . cause you know darlin', I love only you . . . "
from reddirtgirl :
Kiddies for lunch, kiddies for lunch! That would be awesome, Flower.
from birdgyrl :
you haven't ever told me about that. was he cool?
from birdgyrl :
...or a betty ford clinic. but, wait are those voluntary?
from birdgyrl :
i haven't heard of that band. should prove interesting. my bet is that they all land themselves in jail on their first tour. :)
from reddirtgirl :
Woo hoo! Monkeybar hits the town. Ma petite fleur.
from reddirtgirl :
Weiners are winners! Weiners are winners!!!
from cruznmazrati :
CONGRATS!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!! YOU KNOW MY JEWISH ASS IS ALWAYS READY TO PARTE ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY WHERE THE PARTE!!!! CORKS ARE FLYING IN MY OFFICE BECAUSE YOU MY DEAR FRIEND ROCK!!!!!!!!
from mrs-roboto :
I've never actually licked Miami but I assume thats what it's like. I had a dream that I was dogsitting Molly last night and I taught her to dance and we entered a contest on Fox TV. It was weird and creepy.
from reddirtgirl :
It does suck here. You do not exaggerate.
from reddirtgirl :
WE'RE the shit! heh (p.s. I think we scared Itzie last night with the whole Flower thing. I was like, "That's our NAME." She just looked at me.)
from reddirtgirl :
Yaaaaaaaaaay, Flower is abandoning me! I'm so proud of her! p.s. Woot woot to the grannie panties!
from cruznmazrati :
Hey monkey. Sorry I didnt make it to the potluck on sunday. I have been super sick and cant seem to shake it. Hope you understand
from reddirtgirl :
"The fascination of her drumming is so powerful that he can't resist her in the end." I would never have thought to try that. Thank you for the tip, flower!
from reddirtgirl :
You were always a dirty bird. Do not deny it.
from mrs-roboto :
I already knew your name. After awhile you want have to pee as frequently.
from reddirtgirl :
How would the Mary Poppins one go? Like maybe, "Good morning! A spoonful of sugar will help the medicine go down here at Walker Gambini Sandwich and Boombati!"
from mrs-roboto :
I meant pretty flowers for no reason. opps.
from mrs-roboto :
lucky thing! pretty flowers for reason. makes all the freak out sessions seem silly, doesn't it?
from soapboxdiner :
I just noticed your Yahoo name is atrayu. Are we talking The Neverending Story here? I used to LOVE that movie. Anyway, when are you heading out of town? I'm so jealous.
from reddirtgirl :
Libraries ARE erotic, dammit. Although I'll be working in the kiddie section, so the sexual energy will be pretty much nil.
from reddirtgirl :
I am touched, my leetle flowa.
from mrs-roboto :
oh, where are you going in Mexico? I have the 2002 Lonely Planet tour book of Mexico if you'd like to borrow it!
from soapboxdiner :
A new look? Want help? How much help? Like the whole thing? Email me at soapboxdiner @ diaryland.com (without the spaces) and tell me how you want it. Maybe we can work something pretty out.
from reddirtgirl :
hey chicken: mrs-roboto's diary gots a dash in it. you won't get the updates like that there. :)
from reddirtgirl :
J.P. said you ROCKED OUT yesterday.
from soapboxdiner :
Yay! Are you here for good now? This is a happy day.
from reddirtgirl :
WOW, an update! That's right, you do need to quit. In September. With me.
from reddirtgirl :
Was this the trip we took right after 8th gr. graduation? Didn't Roseanne go, and somebody else? I seem to remember 4, but I'm not sure. Definitely R. went on one trip.
