Thanks for the nice note in my guestbook. =) I'm still having intermittent bouts of stark raving terror about how to pay for it all, but I'm feeling *much* better these days.

Hmmm ... really? My diary is locked? Well, I didn't lock it so I don't know who decided to restrict access. Maybe I'm covertly giving away government secrets and the man wanted to shut me down. Hmmm. If you try back and it's still lock, let me know ... because someone else is locking it without my authorization. I'll have to give someone the smackdown. However, I haven't updated in awhile so you're really not missing much :)

Congratulations! Good luck, love Jess xx

Some of my favorites are on that list as well. I have loved Hamlet since 6th grade ... by far my favorite Shakespearian play. I memorized a large part of that play so I could have it on hand at will. And Toni Morrison - I just really love the way she writes. Period. Also, remember, the mark of intelligence isn't a grade - but the way you use your head. Einstein was nearly labeled "retarded" because he failed miserably at school. And couldn't tie his shoes. In the end, he didn't turn out half bad. :)

Happy Birthday! Have a wonderful day, and best wishes for the interview. Jess xx

Hi Ms Galadriel - a belated Happy New Year! Lots of love x x

Hmmm ... I don't think I will ever say "bloody" or "bollocks" for the same reason I won't speak French - I would probably sound stupid:) I don't know if you have it over there, but there is this show called "The Crocodile Hunter" here. It's an Australian guy but his wife is American. Whenever she tries to say the Australian phrases like "reckon" or "g'day"... honestly, I just want to giggle. It sounds cute when Australians say it. It just sounds odd when she says it. I'm odd enough already. Don't need to add to it. Anyway, there's a whole country of people who says "bloody" ... and do so brilliantly. I'll just stick to my American sayings ... like "enough already" (in fact, didn't even know that was American till I read your diary) :) They suit me.

Thanks for the note; I'm glad I'm not the only one who does stupid things while intoxicated. Alcohol=evil! :)

Well, Buffy *is* very informative. Everything I've learned about British language and culture, I've learned from Giles and Spike. Hmm .. not really sure that's a good thing. Had no clue what Manchester United was until Spike said something about it. I thought it was some sort of governing body. Then found out it was a soccer club :) Nothing like a TV show to bridge the international gap.
from keryanna :
I never thought of "I"m psyched" as an American phrase. Makes sense though. Up until a week ago, I thought a "banger" was something pornographic and "shag" described a type of carpet. Hmmm. Very interesting.

Hi Ms Galadriel - love your diary! Hope all is well with you and that you update soon. Lots of love, Jess xx

I emailed you the password! :) Thanks for reading my diary.

What an odd coincidence--I just saw Bowling for Columbine, too. The United States is one insane country, right? UGH. I love Michael Moore.
from bromleybird :
MSGaladriel, I really think you should review your opinion that Michael Ball, I mean Kenneth Branagh is cute! X
from msboombastic :
I don't mind if you copy the booklist idea--I copied the idea from someone else, too. :) I had problems with spam when I posted my email address, so I just got rid of it.
from msboombastic :
I just found your page since you put me on your buddy list! Thank you so much for the nice things you said in your buddy list--I am flattered to be considered "sassy." I look forward to reading more entries.

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
