I am glad you wrote again but really sorry you will be giving up your blog. I do understand that as the children get older, there are more activites that take priority. I hope all the surgeries and dental appointments go very well for all your family. You sound so happy and that is so important as the Mom of the house. Congrats also to your husband on his raises, that is very special. I really liked the sign for the laundry area...very cute. Your holidays did sound very nice and everyone seemed to have a good time. The Christmas picture was priceless! Maybe you can come back every few months and bring us up to date. Best wishes and good luck in 2007
from rnbmusings :
ahem....where are you??? no entry in 13 days? The nerve!!! j/k, hope things are going well, just wanted to say "hi"
from my5cents :
Sounds like you have Christmas under control. Your in-laws can take lots of pictures for you and Jon to enjoy. I am sure the children will be proud you both are partipating in Christmas programs and will enjoy "explaining" the Christmas Eve ritual to their grandparents. LOL
from rnbmusings :
Congrats!!! I know you've been wanting this a while now...good going!! OH ps...happy LATE birthday...I did remember it, even thought of you on Friday, but totally forgot to call...sorry!!! Glad you had a good one though!
from my5cents :
I am currently still out of town...the children on Halloween were adorable...See if Coby wants to read to his sister...that will help his reading skills. Love the latest saying in your bedroom. I had to laugh when you said Coby had been asking 'FOR YEARS" for the games...isn't he only 6? LOL. Congrats on the instructor job....
from rnbmusings :
AHA!!! I knda liked it when it was just "all because" kidding!!!!!
from my5cents :
I went to Dream Dinners here a few months ago...It was fun to do all the mixing at one time but I found that most of the meals had too much "stuff" put in it so I threw away a lot of the sauces etc. The meats were very good though...I think it is is expensive unless you get a special break for first timers
from my5cents :
I think the companies are doing all this far-out gadgetry to be the first with the most...but you are right; it is basic laziness. Give me a car that runs 50 miles per gallon - why don't you? LOL
from my5cents :
I like the straight hair....did she "crinkle" the sides? I would like to see it streaked/highlighted with smooth hair cut like a bob with longer sides than in the back...
from sewingmama :
I've always wondered how you'd look w/straight hair, and I've got to say I think you look great!! How do you like it??
from rnbmusings :
I agree with the person below me!!Also, beofre you would consider it, I'd like you to talk to my friend who did have one about a year ago, and is suffering huge consequences from it. She even went to one of NYC's top surgeons...now she is trying to find a doc to fix the mess that happened...Why not go out and buy yourself some really cute panties and bra? Then, when you are looking at your belly, you will look at the really cute stuff and it will make you feel better!
from my5cents :
eyelid surgery, tummytuck, whatever the problem always seem like the answer to our sore spots (no pun intended) but really, it is usually something else that we are looking for. what about a new hairdo or color? It doesn't cost as much as you might feel like a real change has happened?
from rnbmusings :
Oh, your prize??? Ummm, my eternal gratefulness that you took the time to find the answer!!!!
from rnbmusings :
What did you do? Google the lyrics??? Cheater!! Anyway, you didn't give your answer!
from my5cents :
the most awesome place to get ice cream is at Mickey's Ice Cream Parlor. It is near the Yacht Club, I think. You have to try the sundaes, they are so big and soooooo good. I didn't try many of the rides except some for adults so can't help you out there.
from rnbmusings :
Awww, I kinda sensed something was bugging you Tues...shoulda come right out and asked ya. HUGS! Glad you both made up though. As far as preggo friends...you won't ever be adding me to the list, after the past 3 nights of getting up at 3am, I don't wanna do it anymore!
from my5cents :
Lots of fun in store for all of you. When do you go to Disney. My niece's choir is going in the spring and will sing there.
from my5cents :
Re: Emma, ask how she knew and see if Coby told her or....ask her the ages if she was 4 ...who knows, you could have a math expert on your hands...LOL
from my5cents :
Maybe Coby was a little "full of himself" because of the awesome dessert the night before...at breakfast today. You can talk to him about it later and maybe he will understand that he actually hurt your feelings when he complained about breakfast. give him a little break,he is still a young boy. Smile, hope you found the perfect bedroom wall color today
from rnbmusings :
Ahhh, the soundbridge!! The thing is pretty freaking awesome!! I don't even listen to the radio anymore! Enjoy!!!!
from my5cents :
Sounds like you and Coby have a fun day in store. The bathroom looks great! I am sure everyone will enjoy the dessert.
from my5cents :
even better now that you confirmed that Coby was right in his non-fiction vs fiction story to his little sister. and Good for you on possibly teaching the children about exercise in a fun way.
from my5cents :
Coby's explanation was very cute even though it was backward but at least he was trying to reassure her.
from my5cents :
I thought it was crooked but I put a piece of paper on the screen with the bottom of the cabinets and it is fine. Probably the script makes it look a bit crooked but it is great. What phrase will go in the power room. FLUSH THE TOILET AND WASH YOUR HANDS. ???
from rnbmusings :
Hey, great job!! I have the same phrase in my kitchen, it's on a plaque, but it's written in Italian. I cannot wait to see the rest.
from my5cents :
Glad to hear the party for Jon was a huge success, hope he enjoyed it too. How exciting to have both children in school and you are so wise to trade Mondays with another Mom...you will really enjoy that whole day to yourself.
from rnbmusings :
Seriously, DO NOT buy anything for the summer until I see you!! I do have quite a few things...as far as winter/fall goes, I do have a few things, but not too much!! Last year, I purposefully bought things a little on the bigger side so that she could wear them for 2 years. I will call this week!!! Glad to see you back online!
from my5cents :
Kids looked so cute, I hope they had fun at school. re floor denial, did the floor co deny or their insurance company? If ins. co, ask to speak to a supervisor. If that doesn't work, check on limits for Small Claims Court if you have that in your town...Usually you can file your claim yourself, use the photos you have, show what you used to clean, bill of sale or contract and denial letter...then floor company or ins. company....whoever you are filing against has to appear and explain the denial. It is worth the fee to file before getting an attorney. It is in front of a judge and judge makes decision.
from my5cents :
I think once Coby is back in school, and if you can get through this next weekend, things will settle down and you will feel more relaxed. have a great time with the birthday party. I am sure it will be wonderful
from my5cents :
maybe you need a visit to the library for the kids or a playdate?
from my5cents :
your teeth look great and so do you. Wow, what a great party that is going to be for Jon
from my5cents :
Hope this wasn't a surprise party for Jon...LOL. Sounds like a lot of work but a labor of love....
from my5cents :
that's really cute....hope he really does use the song when she is ready for marriage many years from now.
from rnbmusings :
OMGOODNESS!!! Now, with your permission, I would love to copy and paste this to Johm Mayer himself, as I do have a limited access to him. I truly believe that he would get a kick out of it! I am still trying to get some back stage passes for the upcoming concert...Simply infatuated with the man:o)
from my5cents :
Coby isn't a little boy any more. I like pic#1 and #4. He is going to love school, I just know it....
from divorcebound :
Do you know that Ty is 45lbs? For His THREE year visit a week ago. Ty might be out of a booster before poor Coby!
from my5cents :
I guess the 3 yr old funny is nearly as funny as a 61 yr old woman who can't figure out how the water comes out of the faucet if there are no knobs to turn....LOL
from my5cents :
hope your dizzy spells are over soon. Do you have problems with your ears? or sinuses?
from my5cents :
That was a beautiful testimony about Coby's birth. I hope you print it out and put it in his baby book if he has one. Very special
from rnbmusings :
Happy 6th(can you believe that??) birthday to Mr. Coby!!! Wow!! That time really flew by!!
from cleanstart :
What a sweet, sweet story. Awesome how so many things are linked to this pregnancy! Happy Birthday to your son, and after having one boy and one girl,I agree boys are much easier and sweeter!
from my5cents :
how lucky for you that it was only $4 to fix the a/c. that feels like a big savings to me.
from rnbmusings :
What kind of stuff are you looking for Ella? Of course we have all sorts of girls toys here...abundant and overflowing(as far as I'm concerned). Let me know what you are looking for and I will get my girl to pick stuff that she no longer plays with and is willing to part ways with!
from my5cents :
you might check with Goodwill or Salvation Army, sometimes they have kids toys that are in good shape. I bet she is at the age where she would like the toys that immitate what you do, stove, washer & dryer, table & chairs, etc.
from my5cents :
How nice that you like the new people and I bet you will be a real source of help to the pregnant mom....I hope you get new neighbors that you really like too. I forgot to congratulate you on the winning the kitchen floor war...that's wonderful. I hope you have a great time on your women's weekend.
from my5cents :
I am just back from a week's vacation which i will post about tomorrow. You were very smart to wash the van carpet and look at all the money you saved!! That's great.
from rnbmusings :
AWESOME!!! I am so glad to hear that the braces are coming off that soon!! I have heard how much of a pain in the rear they can be!
from my5cents :
Glad you are back safely. Hope you can exchange your purse...at those prices, they should be able to accommodate you. Maybe you just need to ask Jon to take your picture or ask a stranger...LOL
from my5cents :
hope you find a vera bradley purse you adore. I had one for such a long time (a knapsack type) that I finally quit using it because it was so frayed (i still have it because I can't bear to throw it out) I now have a smaller knapsack (navy blue with light blue flowers and a summer one which is orange and pink. My husband got them for me for my birthday and for Christmas...
from my5cents :
I bet Mom is so critical that daughter can't stand to be with her anymore than she has to...or daughter works outside the home. I don't think this sounds like an enjoyable or rewarding experience for you. I think they called the church because they were hoping to get someone for free and maybe find an older lady who would like to go out for the company and enjoy cooking with Mom. I would use your schedule as a reason not to do this if I were you...but I'm not. LOL.
from rnbmusings :
The church situation left me with one(maybe a stupid one) question...whay isn't thw woman helping her own mother? Why do they need a church to help when they have a daughter who could help? ok, so maybe it left me with two questions!!
from my5cents :
new kittens have to be reminded that they are not supposed to scratch or bite us humans. I find the best way is to put them away from me and not pet them when they misbehave...kind of like "time out" for the kittens.
from mybrokenroad :
You're not the only person I've heard that from, but I still really like the size of it, the roll-down middle windows, and the fact that it somes in electric blue! I was so spoiled by all the space I had in my wagon, it is SO hard to cram it all into my Saturn now.
from my5cents :
car problems can be annoying, that is for sure. Especially if you spend hours and hours sitting at the dealership waiting for them to fix the thing.
from my5cents :
OOOPS, I meant Happy Birthday to Evan....got a bit confused with all the activities...LOL
from my5cents :
Sounds like a lot of fun coming up for you. Cooking and cleaning and birthdays and such. Have a great time and....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO COBY.
from rnbmusings :
Great deals! Way to go!! $50 for swim lessons is great too!! We paid $100 for 10 private lessons...fully worth it now, because I have a little fish on my hands :o) I bet Coby will love it! If I don't get in touch with you before then, have a great vacation! We don't get to go til late July!
from my5cents :
It sounds like a great week, I hope the weather cooperates with you.
from my5cents :
It is always nice to get a compliment about your family...even I like it and my son is grown up. And my husband always tells me when someone compliments me to him which makes me feel great.
from my5cents :
you mean Kohl's returns money if they have a sale and you had purchased things before the sale? Oh my, I probably could get back some money too!!!
from mybrokenroad :
I can't believe how big they're getting. I always forget that Ella's not that much younger than Lucas, it seems like she should be so much smaller. :)
from my5cents :
the children are almost as adorable as the kittens. LOL. Just kidding, they look like they had a wonderful time and the kittens look like they went along and needed a nap. How cute.
from mybrokenroad :
OK, so what are these "magic pills" at WM, and where is a Panera going up in Eburg? Oh, and did you lose power tonight? Everything from McD's to DQ was out when we drove through this evening about 8ish.
from my5cents :
not going to tell you what i weigh. lol/ have fun at 6 flags...sorry for the typing but my newest kitten wants to cuddle and he is snuggled right into my neck, purring away and i have to support his weight with one arm.
from cleanstart :
Cool about the tickets! And I love Jeremy Camp!! We've got his CD, and my kids know every word to every song, lol. I too am 5'8", however I weigh 154 right now and I'm hating it. I want to be at 140...although that really is too thin for our height. Ugh to society!
from my5cents :
My husband and I went to Kohl's this weekend, he got 6 short sleeved dress shirts and I got 3 summer tops to wear to work and/or home. I had also sent in an order to Penney's since I will be needing more casual clothes for retirement. I can only hope they will fit. I want to lose weight and probably they will be a little big next summer (I can only hope!!!)
from my5cents :
So glad the kittens are working out ok. They may try biting a bit. Don't let them because they will forget and bite too hard. Try to give them a toy to distract them....a lot like having children. LOL. Also they will "fight" with each other. Don't worry, they are playacting and really need to do it to learn to be big cats....
from my5cents :
awwwwww, they are so cute. And good for Boots being in the litter box. what a good boy he is!!! I hope you have so much fun with them
from kittyladymd :
Oh, but aren't they the cutest! Ella looks like she is in HEAVEN with her kitty! Hope they behave for you!
from my5cents :
what color are they and what breed??...I now have a 7 mo. siamese male named Samauri = called Sam for short, a 1 yr old calico female named Callie (my husband named her!) and a 13 yr old long hair grey female named Dakota. It is so much fun to think of good names.
from kittyladymd :
Welcome to the world of cat ownership. Can't wait to see some photos of the two new family members. Best of luck!
from my5cents :
first of all, be sure they are neutered...They will play all day. We have one who is 7 months and one who is 1 year and they jump all over each other and chase each other all day. But why did your husband say Yes,. Was it because of Ella?
from mybrokenroad :
I love your hair straight!!! It looks GREAT!!!
from my5cents :
I like your hair blown out straight and highlighted and Coby did a great job taking your picture!!
from my5cents :
A song with a lot of wisdom and I am sure it will be enjoyed by all the mothers in the church and probably the rest of the congregation as well. Happy Mother's Day.
from my5cents :
Would the job be worth the money after you paid for a babysitter for your children? It would be nice to make extra money and also give you a break from being home with the kids but all in all, how much would you really make after all? Hope everything else goes well for you. Have a great weekend.
from my5cents :
I think that is the worst job having to clean up a toilet after some careless male person (young or old) has gone everywhere.....
from divorcebound :
at least Coby was trying to clean it up? Right?
from mybrokenroad :
Where is the gym thing that just opened? Lucas needs something like that, do tell!!
from mybrokenroad :
I do my grocery list like that too. I actually have it saved in Excel, I print it out when I need a new one, and just check off the items that I need that week. I learned this from my Mom, who did the same thing when we were younger and she did daycare from home. But yeah, you're still anal. :)
from my5cents :
whether you are anal or not is not the question. How much would it bother you if you didn't re-write the grocery list? If it would make you nervous, then I say, go for it. If it wouldn't bother you too much and you have time, then don't rewrite it. I personally write things as I think of them or as I check the refrig or cupboards but I buy basically the same things every week. Maybe after I retire, I will get more adventurous.
from rnbmusings :
I can go one step further...my list is on the computer, that way all my staple items are written there, and I just need to add any extras...the list is divided into "Isle 1, 2, etc...) No, you are absoultely NOT anal...there is nothing wrong with being organized. Life is so much easier that way! Now, I'm off to re-organize my linen closet, of course, I color code the towels...see, there are people out there who are worse then you!!
from cleanstart :
WOW, you are one busy lady!!! But if I had the option, I'd be a SAHM too. It's neat that you get to put so much time into your kids daily activities. I hope one day that I have this same opportunity. Although mine are 9 and 11 being a single mom, is not an option right now. So yeah, I admire you and want to switch places with you. You up for it? ;o)
from my5cents :
I bet your daughter is just going through a "changing time". She wants more to do to keep her busy but still is a little girl. Sounds like you have lots of activities this week. I get tired just reading all you do. LOL
from my5cents :
how romantic that your husband thought of a way you two could have an evening together and the kids are with the grandparents. Go, Jon!!.
from my5cents :
Ahh, the relaxing life of a stay at home mom....NOT!!.....Will be interested in hearing about the answers to those questions you are posing tonight. Have a good evening.
from my5cents :
Love the mixer and I bet you can find it cheaper at Kohl's....I used to get those migraines and was sick for 3 days at least. I normally had to come home from work on the 3rd day because I was just exhausted....Hope you feel better.
from cleanstart :
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! AND I LOVE The mixer!!
from my5cents :
I forgot to comment on Coby's red white and blue cast, I like it. Maybe the orth just wants to check how his arm is feeling with the cast on....hope it isn't a huge ordeal to work with the Lyme disease. Sorry about your grandmother, maybe she is just feeling too tired to cope with all the poking and testing and just wants to be at peace with some friendly faces and lovely surroundings. Good Luck
from my5cents :
Congrats on the bonus from work. I am so sorry about your grandmother. It is hard to let them go when they get old and sick. If you have her with you, maybe you will get to talk about her memories and I am sure she will love to be around the children. Best Wishes
from my5cents :
even though the mess of all the toys angered you, just think what she was feeling....she wanted to make her mommy an angel and she figured out how to do it...that is a blessing...maybe even a nudge by your guardian angel to take time to notice the little things and smile to yourself when they occur.
from my5cents :
It sounds like your life is turning into a situation comedy but it isn't very funny... I sure hope Coby got his green cast so he can start recouperating and that the rest of your woes start getting better too.
from friendofjenn :
by the way, when you commented on my blog your name was a link to this page, that's how i got here ;), just in case you were wondering...fill me in on your lives, i am sure we can empathize!! Beth
from friendofjenn :
hey jenn, thanks for reading my blog and leaving a comment, i'll check in with you too, hope jon and the kids are well, beth
from friendofjenn :
Hey Jenn, it's MomHome4Now (aka sandjsmom) or Gretchen... LOL. I like to read blogs and journals and read yours once in awhile. I hope Coby is feeling better these days!
from kittyladymd :
Just signing for you as requested. Hope Coby does well with the new cast!
from friendofjenn :
Hi Jenn, I'm reading to get a Coby update. Sorry you're having problems with your diary. Debbi801 (from MD board)
from mybrokenroad :
All that just to find out who's reading you? Silly girl! LOL! Why don't you have a link to your notes (this is notes, not a guestbook) on your diary page?
from friendofjenn :
test, test.....
from cleanstart :
Hi there, I've been reading you for a few months, do you mind sharing your user/pw with me? [email protected]
from my5cents :
i've been on vacation. will send you an e-mail for your password when I get back to e-mail
from my5cents :
COBY must be very excited about losing another tooth and having the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny both visiting.
from my5cents :
I am sure you will sing beautifully on Easter. Have a great weekend.
from my5cents :
I bet you have one proud little boy now!!!
from my5cents :
I think, (if you want my opinion) that you and Jon need to sit down and talk about what you want to do as a family. You need to point out that you would like 1 evening per week for yourself and he can have 1 or 2 depending on his obligations with church. the rest of the time you would like all 4 of you to do things as a family or he and your son bond together and you and your daughter do something together and then switch the parent and child, the next week. You are entitled to some "me" time just as he is. You do need to spend time together as a family and even just as a couple. Re: your summer clothes...You can always find inexpensive things at Kohl's and maybe you can check out some garage sales in a richer neighborhood? Hope things get better for you...it sounds like you need some time for yourself.
from my5cents :
that's a momentous day when your son says he can go to the restroom alone. Good for him.
from my5cents :
Post a picture of your new outfit so we can all give your kudos for finding it. LOL
from my5cents :
This is the same MIL who was horrified that the kids were wearing jeans/capris but she wanted to do the bunny thing first thing? I think you are right, you want Daddy to be able to participate in the egg hunt so it should be when he can join all of you. Hope you had good luck in the Easter outfit search....
from rnbmusings :
Oh my..MIL's!! LOL!! Our kids aren't wearing anything special either...just casual, but nice(our church is totally fine with jeans and stuff too!) And as far as the basket, do whatever YOU feel is best. We don't do that stuff until after dinner...Rach knows that the bunny is just a holiday fad, what's that phrase "Jesus is the reason for the season"? Sometimes, I think folks really need to remember that! HUGS
from my5cents :
I think for those in the older generation; it just seems strange to wear jeans or capris or even shorts for church. But if that is the way the congregation and the minister like to dress, then it is fine. I have seen some strange dressing at funerals too and I guess I just have to get used to it...for example, my son who is grown didn't have a suit until he bought one to get married in....
from my5cents :
what did your MIL say about the baby in the belly? Those dinners sound great. I guess my husband and I need to ask a cousin and her husband if they want to do that.
from my5cents :
I hope your mouth is not too sore for your dream dinner night...is that where you prep for several dinners and put it in containers to be cooked later. We have a couple of places like that here. My son and DIL did it and just loved it. We are talking about trying it out some time.
from my5cents :
If you have that kind of surgery and have to expect your husband to bathe you, etc, I, for one, would not want to have it done....Ick!!! Of course, some men, might think it was a real turn-on to have to bathe their wife....I don't know.....one in awhile maybe, but every night for weeks....no,thank you.
from rnbmusings :
Ok, I obviously read that too fast, cause I finished you diary and went HUH? She is going to the store to get an overnight friend for Ella? It is so not my day today! HUGS! I think I am having your bad day, it musta got passed along!HUGS!
from my5cents :
You are probably just having a blue day....with all your activities, I would think you fit in most everywhere and have many friends... Hope you do feel better soon.
from my5cents :
The haircut is so cute. I don't think it is too short, it makes her look a little bit older and as it grows out; it will be thicker and look more even...very nice, very very nice.
from my5cents :
Re your daughter, be sure you stop all liquids about an hour before bedtime...and waking her up when you go to bed is a good idea. My only concern with the pullups is she would get used to wetting and not be waking up when she has the urge to go.... I know that is nothing opposed to having a wet bed every morning!! Good luck
from janie12975 :
Just in case you didn't know, but I would think ya would. I do read you and have since you started. I come up with waldorf.comcast.net or something in my IP and it is always the same. So that's me, k?
from my5cents :
be happy you are young, some day you might be the oldest and that is no fun...
from rnbmusings :
hee...I am the youngest parent at Rach's school by 4 years!! Most are in their late 30's early 40's. I didn't realize that we started so YOUNG having babies!!!
from my5cents :
I almost forgot, congrats on 145 lbs...that's great. good for you, have fun shopping for clothes with your sister.
from my5cents :
Sorry if someone is trying to mess with you and/or your journal. Some people just can't be satisfied with their own lives so they have to mess with others. I am sure those who know you in your real life know who you are and will stand by you.
from rnbmusings :
Ummm, not sure what's going on but if you need someone to talk to, I'm here for ya!
from rnbmusings :
I'm here!! HUGS!!! I will call you...but not today cause I have a lot on my plate! I'll try tomorrow so we can get together. BTW, the house looks GREAT!!
from my5cents :
So is the color for the dining room and livingroom kind of a sahara sand brown? That is the color in my house. It is a nice neutral because you can still mix so many colors with it. and the bathroom is great. I love it...so colorful and bright and cheery.
from my5cents :
Guess your little boy is growing up...hope the tooth fairy lives in your part of the country.
from my5cents :
Re certification, I guess unless you plan to teach more often or will get a raise, why spend $300? Good call on Coby, I hope his teacher will give him a little more positive feedback at school. Obviously, he needs the reassurance and didn't like being "naughty". These seem like small problems to us but for him, it must be major.
from my5cents :
Poor Coby, he had a really rough day, didn't he? I hope he felt better when he went back to school. Re: Ell's hair. I went back and looked at her pictures. Maybe you don't have to cut it all to the same length, just even it up some??? Of course, if it is all the same length, it will be much thicker probably, if that's what you want.
from my5cents :
I work for insurance. Yes, they will pay for a rental, you may not get another van but you sure can ask. Insurance sometimes takes a few more days so don't get too upset. I sure hope you feel better. Take it easy for a few days. Hope your husband will make the appointment, I am sure it is stress as you said. At least the kids had fun.!!!
from divorcebound :
That stinks Jenn....Ty has been sick since yesterday...must be something going around! Sorry the weekend was a bust too. I know you were hoping to learn something.
from rnbmusings :
Sorry you're still sick! Hope it heals quickly. A thought about your van situation. Since the guy's insurance is now going to be involved, they would probably pay for a rental while your's is getting fixed. I got a nice rental when a guy smacked into the back of mine! It's worth looking into!
from my5cents :
hope your cold goes away enough that you can enjoy the conference....
from rnbmusings :
Hey! I just wanted to let you know about my new diary...I'll be here from now on! PS(this is your friend from high school who isn't going to release info, but whose initials are C P :o)
from my5cents :
I think the phone calls were excessive but I bet she got upset when your son was sick and thought you might think it was her fault. She knew you had a specific reason for this weekend and if you had driven all the way there and then he was fine; it would have taken up your whole day. The fact that she didn't think about not letting him eat so much the next day is funny in a way. No wonder he got sick, he was starving from Saturday and overeat all the junk on Sunday. Don't worry about what she said, she was upset and probably still felt guilty that he got sick while he was with her. You always seem so in tune with your kids; I think you must be a wonderful mother. Give Your mother a few days to relax, maybe send her a pretty thank you card with the kids signing it too. I am sure she will be ok. Next time, you could turn off your cell phone.....especially during SEX. LOL

Now, I don't know your mom too well, but I am thinking that maybe she has guilt issues...the way you are describing her tone makes it seem that way. I think the fact that she married and moved away so fast was a guilt thing...I think she deals with that, but then she will remind herself that she is a grown woman and can make her own decisions...can you see where I'm getting at? I think your mom felt insecure about having the kids by herself, so she called alot, THEN, when you called her out on her behavior, she got embarrassed and retaliated by saying something rude. I would definately let things blow off for a while, then just make sure to tell your mom that you care and appreciate her. Then maybe you 2 can have a talk about how stuff should go if she has your kids, that way, hopefully, you can avoid something like this again. HUGS! Glad you at least got alot done in between the phone calls!
from my5cents :
If you let your children have bubble baths on a regular basis, you might consider eliminating the bubbles for awhile. I remember when my son was small, he would get an irritation on his bottom and other areas from sitting in soapy bubble water. That also might cause your daughter to have infections...because the bubble solutions can go inside of her.
from my5cents :
Your daughter and her little friend look so cute together. I bet they giggled most of the day.
from my5cents :
I have to agree with your other commenters, I don't think children should watch tv all the time, they need to pretend, to have imagination, to play alone and with children, to draw and read and explore. All of those things stimulate their brains and make their lives more interesting.

How Cute! A Report Card! :) Hey, whatever happened with your floor saga? See ya tomorrow.
from my5cents :
if you have some spare time, starting reading my journal on 8-23-05....on 8-27-05, you will find my real first name. It is a story I am writing and 85% of it is true regarding my ancestors...it continues off and on for a few weeks.
from my5cents :
I am glad you felt I "Knew" your personality. I just thought about what you journal about and it seemed so logical. re: Colby, don't get worried about him excelling at this time. He is still a little boy, let him enjoy his childhood and love school and not feel pressured to be the best all the time. Encourage him, praise him and he will be eager to please without prodding.
from my5cents :
I think of you as a mother of 2 children, a wife, a grand daughter and daughter. You enjoy your family and your home, you are very interested in helping others either by thoughts or deeds. You have a variety of ways that you serve your higher power including singing and learning more about the Bible. You seem to be even tempered, fair and get along well with others.
from my5cents :
So the visit to the new doctor well went and how nice that your daugher likes him too. I think we all are concerned about money because of the way of the world right now. We think we have enough but we worry in case something happens that we didn't plan on.
from my5cents :
What a cute picture of all the little girls dressed up in their costumes. The twin (Isabelle) didn't look too happy in her yellow dress. LOL. I can see why people think your daughter is one of the twin's...the curly blonde hair and similar style, I think.

Happy 3rd Birthday Ella! what a big girl you are now. You don't need the binkie anymore and you are having a birthday party. Are you having lots of fun today?
from babyontheway :
Happy Birthday Ella! I remember the day she was born!! Going to visit you all at the hospital! Heck, I remember the day you found out you were pregnant! How in the world did time fly that fast? Those pictures were beautiful! She looks so much like mommy!
from my5cents :
Your daughter is adorable. I really like the picture you chose of her in a close-up. She looks like a model for a commercial. She is beautiful/ I guess if I were to choose from the "3" photos, I would have chosen the 2nd one. Can you still order that just to keep the series of birthday numbers going? have fun with her party.

No, you are not the only mommy who wanted her children to start school. It is good for them to socialize with other children, it makes starting regular school easier for them, it gives them something to do AND it gives you time to be someone besides Mommy and "the wife".
from my5cents :
have you called your dr to ask if the loss of taste is a normal side effect? Maybe it will go away in a few more weeks.
from my5cents :
I once stayed at the Yacht Club Resort when my son's company took him and a guest (me!!) to DisneyWorld. Be sure you go to Mickey's Ice Cream Parlor...They have these sundaes that are so good. One was Peanut Butter and the other was Chocolate. They are humungous and soooooo good. Have fun.
from my5cents :
I Think the media plays up all the crashes and other things so much that we develop a fear that something is going to happen re:airplanes. What color(s) did you pick for the LR and DR?
from my5cents :
could you eat some oatmeal, very soupy with some applesauce ? Sure hope you feel better soon.
from my5cents :
So sorry you still are not feeling as good as you would like. My mother was the same way, wonderful loving woman but didn't know much about housekeeping. Sometimes it might be easier to just sort it out and then just do it as you can. You will be feeling better, just don't over do it.
from my5cents :
Your daughter is very beautiful. I hope she stays that way...and doesn't have the awkward stage like most of us go through. Glad you are feeling better. Losing 8 lbs isn't a bad side effect, is it?
from babyontheway :
Ugh! That sounds awful!! I hope you didn't get that stomach bug going around while you are trying to recoup. Try and rest as much as possible...oh, and I remember food tasting really weird for a while too! (I never understood it either).
from my5cents :
Maybe you caught the flu while you were in the hospital? That doesn't sound like it goes with the surgery you had. Hope you feel better soon
from my5cents :
SORRY, WHAT IS U & 0? Glad your surgery went well and you are feeling pretty good.
from divorcebound :
Happy One Year Diaryland Anniversary!
from babyontheway :
Good Luck on surgery! Mine were out a while back and it took about 6 days to feel really good. Just remember not to do anything that will get you to cough...seriously, the coughing is the worst. It'll be fine!!
from my5cents :
Wow, you have lots of ambition and lots of goals to complete very soon. Good luck on your surgery, just do what the dr says and don't try to talk if you are not supposed to. Be careful not to eat or drink anything that makes mucus or makes you cough. I am sure it will be just fine. Good luck with the surgery and write when you are up to it.
from my5cents :
I guess the big question is can you afford to remove the plaster in the LR and DR now? Because that sounds like the first thing that has to be done so the new door can be installed so the water will not leak into the basement any more....Whoo-hoo, that wore me out.
from my5cents :
I'll bet everyone will be so impressed with the remodeling of your house that your party will be a huge success and you will get lots of compliments.
from my5cents :
Yes, the only problem with extra bathrooms and sinks, etc. is it takes longer to clean ALL OF THEM. Merry Christmas to you too.
from my5cents :
that IS a very cute picture of Ella. The good-all-year girl!!! She is a darling! Hope Santa enjoyed his visit with your children.
from my5cents :
Re your basement: Check if water is coming up through any drains in the basement, sump pump or is it leaking down the wall where any windows are located. You can get covers for the basement windows to keep snow from collecting and melting. Good Luck!

I am very interested in religous doctrine and was raised catholic and have converted to Judasim. I wouldn't be too quick to rely soley on the KJV as the definative word on Bible studies. Perhaps the best is to study the hebrew scriptures and get an understanding that there are many subtle tranlstion questions and can be interpeted differntly. There are loads of resources in the web: for instance: http://www.levitt.com/hebrew/commandments.html anyhow, intersting read. I look forward to more. Andy

The key point is none of the literature for the flooring said anything about beater bars. (those are the thing on a vacumn where the brush is - usually a canister type that deep clean the carpeting.) Since you were not instructed about vacumn beater bars and the literature says you can use a vacumn; you should be able to get some concession from the flooring company...also you had experience cleaning your mother's floors so there is no reason to think you couldn't clean your floors the same way. It IS disgusting when you pay for something brand new and then it is defective before you even use it. Stick to your argument. There was no warning for you to see before you cleaned the floor. Hope your husband feels better soon.

yOUR CHILDREN ARE BEAUTIFUL. I especially liked the second one with your daughter standing above your son. And I am sure the singing will be awesome. Can your husband video it or tape it so you can enjoy it later. Sounds like you are very busy and very happy as a wife and mother.
from my5cents :
your many entries were worth waiting for. I was interested in what you said about the differences in the 10 Commandments, I had no idea that they were different in various churches. I remember a very good couple who we have been friends with forever were very catholic until they were told they couldn't use birth control. He got a vasectomy after they had 6 children because they just couldn't afford any more children. That was real hard for them. then she went to work as a secretary for a priest and she said he swears worse than a sailor - which shocked her.
from babyontheway :
WOW! I was shocked when I just read your entry! You know I'm catholic and my church does not at all stray from the bible when teaching the commandments. I should know, I am teaching 3rd grade this year at sunday school and we take it verbatim right out of the bible! I thought all catholic churches do this....BUT, since ours is very lax, and more "christian" then roman catholic, I guess I can see the discrepancies. I was so shocked, because the only thing that you said you didn't agree with that catholics do that my church does is not allow women in the hiarchy! Hrmm...thanks for the insight...I am going to talk to others who go to diff. catholic churches and see what they say!
from my5cents :
Thanks for YOUR comment. I read your entry with interest. I just saw on tv news last night that the Pope had some discussion going on where babies who die before baptism go because the Catholics used to say they couldn't go to Heaven so they went to "Limbo." Now the Pope wants to have a "nicer" interpretation for the innocent babies who die. I guess it is all up to the person in charge who interprets what the Catholics are supposed to believe. Hmmmm.

Sounds like you are keeping busy. You and your husband sound like you work well together.Good luck with teaching music to your son, I bet it will turn out great.
from my5cents :
Happy to see you are trying to keep a journal, it is fun and addictive...you sound like a very happy and busy mom...that is wonderful. Will look forward to pictures of your house and family (if you want to post) as the holidays come. have a great post Thanksgiving weekend.
from my5cents :
oh yes, absolutely, please keep journaling...it would be fun to see how your family is growing up and how you decorate for the holidays etc.
from my5cents :
it WAS worth waiting for. I bet you just love putting all the things away in their new places. And the kids must love having theirow rooms and a playroom too. congratulations.
from my5cents :
Wow, I just found your journal and am I impressed! The work seems to be going so fast (probably not to you, though!!) I will be following your journal thru the complete remodeling and additional add on. Best of luck!

Jenn, you need to link your notes in you diary, rather than giving directions to them. Let me know if you need help with HTML stuff.

Cabinets: I'm not fond of the antique yellow. My sis just did dark cherry and it looks amazing. My mom just did the light birch and also very stylish....I vote for cherry.
from mybrokenroad :
Sorry hon, I've never had any sage candles. Stacey had one back in Nov, and I really liked it, has she sold it? I really like the color, are you trying to match it to something?
