A sign of the times, yes.
from watercolored :
Surprised by what? It isn't my choice really, just a place I imagined you were familiar with, despite the lame pun it presented.

I'm in Columbia frequently, we should have coffee sometime, the Immaculate Consumption next to Nickelodeon maybe?

I hadn't thought of Auden in years until reading your note today. Even now I must confess to a very fleeting knowledge of his works. To remedy this I've reserved several items for pick up at the library, and once Visa has bought absolution for a gross lack of punctuality (late fees) they will be all mine to devour at leisure. The basic facts I know; his time and place of birth, education, a few titles stand out, now that I've scanned over a small online biography. As any other recognised poet he suffered (or delighted in) inevitable comparisons, sited the expected influences. I look forward to reading more of him, thank you. I'm not a US citizen but live in S. Carolina, where do you live? The little collection (David Bentley Hart) is a treat, I agree. I'm disappointed Lemony Snicket sold out, here's hoping they don't ruin everything on the big screen. That would truly be an unfortunate event.

I see you have written, but you are still locked. May I have a password please? [email protected]
from mmeanaya :
sigh.....your diary is locked...i thought it would have been interesting to read...
from autumnal :
I'd like to read your letter to me if you finish it and send it.
from librtine :
NO, no, noooo. Your diary is locked. I disapprove of locked diaries in diary rings. It kills the entire spirit, and functionality of the ring. Then, I read your profile and was even more disappointed that your diary is locked. Oh well.
from librtine :
diaryring-password on diary: kind of disappointing and maybe a big: NO NO. Then I read your profile, more disappointment. oh well..
from claire3 :

from autumnal :
Thank you. I end one way and begin another.
from autumnal :

Hurrah for the four loves! My friend Ann told me this Carole King story you might enjoy-Her aunt wanted Tapestry for her birthday when it first came out, so her grandmother went to a tapestry store to ask for a Carole King tapestry. Fortunately the clerk knew what she was talking about and directed her to the record store.

"The same water - a different wave. / What maters is that it is a wave. / What matters in that the wave will return. / What matters is that it will always return different. / What matters most of all: however different the returning wave, / it will always return as awave of the sea. / What is a wave? Composotion and muscle. The same goes for / lyric poetry." - Marina Tsevtaeva

we are so very very different and yet there is something with the touch of dadaist in you. hmmm...
from headhunter :
Amused by your words. My stuff has been fairly bland thus far. We should talk sometime.
from diedpretty :
You have absolutely superb taste in music - you've listed loads of my favourite bands there (Quicksand, XTC, The The, Mogwai, Nick Drake, Aphex Twin, GSYBE!, Fugazi, Massive Attack etc etc), as well as my fave writer (Bukowski) and three of my favourite films (White/Red/Blue). Very nice.
from ambitious :

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
