Dunno if you do already, but I've found best way to cook a turkey is upside down for the first part, then turn it over and crisp the skin. ( cooking upside down keeps it nice and juicy )...We don't have thanksgiving here, so I gotta wait till christmas for my turkey.... enjoy...

Feb. 19 Just left you a long message in your g/book and for some wacky reason, it didn't post. Ah well. I wanted to let you know that it's okay to have these feelings and to experience these frustrations and that we all go through this from time to time. I know what you're going through, about the fear of failing, the fear of going back to where you started and trying to figure it all out. I found that my fear of going back was bigger then the fear of failing this go 'round. It may be different for you, but know that is okay, too. Celery is the answer to all your problems. You use more calories eating it, than it actual contains. There, simple see, just live on celery for the remainder of your life. ( with maybe just a touch of peanut butter, and the occasional chocolate brownie... DOH !! )

Great new template! I feel like that many a day myself. Glad to hear you're doing well. The exercise will come along. I'm doing things in small steps too. I usually go all out with eating and exercising and then a week or 2 later, I abandon it all. I'm trying to get control of my eating, then the exercise will come more naturally. Did we have the same day? The same year? I only saw parts of TBL last night and it was enough. I didn't hear Bob say that but I guess I had that thought in my mind. I went to WW today and I've gained 15 lbs since August. Add that to the 45 I'd already gained and there you go. It makes me feel awful but I have to move on. And so will you. WW is a new program, BTW. New materials, new look, new way of calculating your daily points. It's nothing radically different but sometimes a little change is all it takes. Hang in there. I'm here for you.

So you didn't work out ... drink extra water ... get up and walk a few times more than usual ... eat something healthy. Good for you for getting back to the gym. I turned one of my spare rooms into a home gym and am loving it. I work out almost everyday now. No excuses since it is right there. I can do a quick 10 minutes or a full hour workout...whatever I have time for.

Haha, it's totally the 100+ board! They can't even get along with people from the 50+ board, they fight all the time!! They're insane over there. I agree, the 100+ board used to be awesome, that's where I first met you :) There were a few people that always had good posts, like Cheezy and Moolissa. Now it's a whole new crop of crazies! I'm sorry that some girl got you so upset, does she still post there? I'll go check her out. I know it's hard to see people who were heavier than you at their goal weights but it's all cyclical. I'm awestruck by people who lose it once and keep it off for good but sadly that's the rare exception. So don't feel bad, people will go up and down and so will we (except we are going DOWN now baby!).

Pfff..that race is 4.78 miles. Girlfriend, you could do that TODAY if you wanted! I thought you meant a whole 26.2 mile marathon. You will be back up to that mileage and beyond in no time, I know you! I'll think about doing the race, it depends on what our plans are for the day because that's about an hour and 15 from my house. I was lazy today, I only did 20 minutes on the treadmill walking at an incline but I know it's better than not doing anything (as I was originally inclined to do). Then when that happened I convinced myself it wouldn't be the 160s. Then it was the 170s. Now I can't freaking believe I am where I am and I don't know how to cope. I don't know how I motivated myself for so long to get down to my low weight when I can't seem to count points for more than 2 days in a row now. UGH!!!!!!!!!!! I'm with you in spirit honey, believe me.

She's always going on about losing weight (she went from a size 16 to size 8, but she back up to a 10-12 again at the moment). Anywho...you look pretty danm good to me, so keep up the good work. I love Keane too.. what a beautiful voice that man has. Did you know they were voted Worst New Band in Britain? How terrible! I'd love to see them in concert on 4th May in Portland (Oregon), but I'm so broke from everything. I'm an avid concert goer.. and let's just leave it at that. Hey Sarah, It happens to EVERYONE with the running. When I look at where I was last year at this time and where I am now with my running, it's so freaking depressing. But we start again, one step at a time (no pun intended) and we keep going. You've acheived so much in such a short time, you should be incredibly proud of yourself. We all are here on dland! As far as the 1/2 mary goes, just give it time. If you heal properly, you could train for it in about 2 months. I'd say 11 miles is really as far as you'd need to go to make the 13.1 on race day. And if it isn't the right time, there's always Hartford in October. That was my first 1/2 mary and easily the happiest day of my life (rivaling my wedding day!!!). Good luck, you're doing great. Keep in touch, we have a lot in common!

You know, I understand where you're coming from with "not getting it." I think that's where behavior modification comes from. Not sure yet. Or maybe you just need more people assuring you that you are doing great and look terrific! I wonder if there's some sort of virtual reality program out there where you can upload a picture of yourself currently and have it show what you'd look like at your target weight. Maybe then you'd reconsider. But geez, girl! You're buff! I'd bet if you were down to your target, you'd have to lose the muscle mass to do it. Do you really want that to happen? Food for thought! :D

i was so hoping that gary or kelly would win- ryan did lose a lot of weight but i like the other two better. gary looked dissapointed he didn't win :( only lost by ONE freaking point. he is so skinny now though. and i was laughing so hard at how caroline was trying to control them and they were throwing themselves on the scale as fast as they could LOL. i can't wait til the next season!! i heard they are doing it with families.. kind of like dr. phil, wonder how that will happen. and hey if you are having withdrawals (haha) check out 'celebrity fit club' on vh1, its a total biggest loser rip off but some parts are good.

I was NEVER a runner either! I remember in junior high, I DREADED "mile day", when we had to run a mile in P.E. once a week. Literally, I did it in like.....17 minutes? And that was a good week! I only started running 2 years ago...I'm addicted now too!

please prepare for a novel (lol): I started running to lose weight. I gained about 40 extra lbs after college, which was a lot for me since I'm 1) short (5'3") and 2) was a H.S. athlete (swimming and diving). I felt insecure and slobbish and fat and was LOW on self-esteem. I then met my current boyfriend who was very athletic and I couldn't hang in there for anything outdoors we did. So I started running b/c I could be outside and didn't need to pay gym fees. And the weight just dropped off...after I changed my eating habits, that is! And I loved it. I truly love running, indoors, outdoors, on a track, anywhere. So I guess now I would still say I do it for both reasons. Because I love it and because if my health! I'm glad I found you too!

Hi Sarah, If you're running for an hour a day, there's no way you should give up on carbs. In fact, you're putting in so much workout time that you might be burning muscle and that's why you're not satisfied with your appearance. You're doing so well at the gym, and are so into it, that you should forget dieting forever and focus on sports nutrition. Maybe you're not getting enough calories and you're metabolism is slowing down when you're not exercising. Last piece of advice - have your body fat tested now and again in a month, and see how the composition changes. Keep up the good work. John

Hey, I have been on the Lamictal for 8-9 weeks now. I have been pleased with the results over all. it's weight neutral & my side effects are pretty much nil. I have developed a bit of a shake in my hands though, but it's not too noticable. It's worth it though. The docs I have seen have all agreed that it works really really well on bipolars, esp bipolar women. talk to your doc...it could be a good move. At this point, they couldn't pry the lamictal bottle out of my hands. :-)

i think changing it up and trying the zone is a great idea. i was stuck at 180 (and a little higher) for 6 months, and since starting south beach, i lost down to 174 in 2 weeks. i think the change of eating is what did it, and it's awesome. plus you can always change back to ww. can't wait to hear how it goes!

Hi, I'm taking Topamax for migraines and it is making me so depressed that I don't know if I can continue taking it. I've been on it for a month now and I'm becoming more and more depressed. It seems to be helping a bit with the headaches but I don't know if it's worth it or not. How long have you been on it? I haven't noticed any weight loss. (again, at work so i'm leaving a note). Good fat -- NUTS!! My favorites are cashews. Even raw, they're yummy, but roasted is nice too. Almonds are also very yummy. anyways, they really help the heart and cholesterol and all that good stuff.

your should be so proud of yourself for losing over 100 lbs! I mean , not so many people have the willpower to do it! .. and by looking at your photo,, you are very beautiful! (im not just saying that to be nice, Im serious!) you should keep smiling everytime you look in the mirror and just think of the great accomplishment you've made! then maybe you wont feel so bad if you "cheated" or even if you rest for alittlw while, it really wont do that much harm! , no matter what, you should always treat yourself! It just about moderation! you can eat anything you want! nothing should be offlimits! ;) ... you may not see it.. but myself (and prolly many others) see that you've already made a gerat accomplishment... and if you really wanted to lose some more, that will come in time no problem! I have been reading your diary for a while now and we really have a lot in common. I wanted to comment about the Effexor thing. I have been on it for about 4 months or maybe a bit more. In the beginning I definately felt that my appetite increased. I am not sure if that was just in my head but I did eat more. After a couple of weeks I went back to the same way I was eating before. I also didn't feel it helped me at all in the beginning, and only now I have started realising how much it does help me Anyway take care and feel good! Kathy

Sweetie, I have the same problem, and it does suck! I think you can only firm up so much, and then we're stuck with what we've got. I was so upset for awhile thinking that I have just ruined my body, but that doesn't help. You look great in clothes! And they make great wonder bra's and panties. It will be okay!

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
