Well, I must be the only uncool kid left ;) See you at your new digs!
from swordfern :
Good luck!!! :)
from boombasticat :
Yes, yes. I feel you. My trick, if it helps at all, is that any time I get one of those little flashes, I get it down. Even if it's a short little paragraph, if there's a flash behind it, some kind of connection, usually it's worth writing about. Also: 250 students! Makes it tough to learn names, huh.
from boombasticat :
Thanks for the note, as always. I got all wrapped up in the tournament this time around. Elation while things were going well, and then the drop off the cliff when it's all over. Glad you found something to like in the Americans. I think they were a relatively good bunch. They had that scrappiness that's the basis for just about every Hollywood sports ever made, right? Now, if Canada could just clone Dwayne DeRosario. And when's your journal getting unlocked?
from starhearts :
The pictures are amazing and the comments lead me to a place where I was reminded that internal peace is possible. Certainly a long way from it this end but able to begin to understand that decissions are maybe better then fence sitting and in the end they lead somewhere more productive...thanks for the refresher :) C.
from cocoabean :
The Metro is great!!
from boombasticat :
I love this entry and I love that the sign to British Columbia says it's "The Best Place on Earth."
from boombasticat :
Congrats, doctor.
from cocoabean :
Woot! Congrats!
from bettyalready :
neat picture. I joke my mom had one black and white taken of me.
from boombasticat :
I was captivated by this whole thing. And the photo is really, really good.
from boombasticat :
That was nice. I loved the stuff about the trains. Amazing what we don't know we're missing.
from bettyalready :
I like that note found in the library book. I would do the same thing.
from boombasticat :
I like reading your writing, too.
from raven72d :
you do still have readers...
from bettyalready :
Merry Christmas!
from swordfern :
You're right about there not being too many vets left from WWI... there's only one!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Babcock
from boombasticat :
The image of your mother taking photos at the funeral is a powerful one. Great entry.
from starhearts :
Thanks for the tip about the pics..seems that I had a flickr account at one point..thinking about it...will see what I can come up with :) THANKS! C.
from boombasticat :
Wow, what a trip. You saw a grizzly? No, "met" one? I like your description of the "beautiful landscape." I've always wanted to travel up that way. I may go to Norway this winter, of all times, to visit friends. And, yes, dreaming of people you've never met is something, isn't it? It's best when there are actual voices, though you don't know what they sound like.
from boombasticat :
I've always liked the wrinkliness of squash/zucchini/pumpkin flowers.
from dejour :
Awesome! Thank you for writing about someone who made a difference in the world. I'm going to do more research, as I've never heard of him (good ol' USA hasn't really ever mentioned him) :)
from swordfern :
Thank you for this. Embarrassingly, I had never heard of Henry Morgentaler.
from starhearts :
don't be too disheartened i read am still reading along when you post :) and i appreciate that you spend the time when you can!
from rainforme :
10 pts!
from straysparrow :
thnakyou! (I'd tell you that on your diary, but I couldn't figure out how)
from boxx9000 :
I love, love, LOVE all your pictures.
from rainforme :
thank u!
from f-i-n :
((hugs))
from swordfern :
gorgeous... even the blurred heron/city photo... it describes such a lonely/lost feeling.
from f-i-n :
I like that picture of the flowers leaning in the window....
from suzza :
Beyond Diva cups, there are cloth pads. They are NOT messy at all, and I leak LESS than on plastic -- the plastic repels water. Insteads don't do it for me. I'd rather be throwing away a cardboard tampon that a plastic thing-a-majig.
from wordsofmine :
I had trouble with tampons too in drying me out. I used to use red wash clothes with a light pad for a liner. Back in the day they also had a cup like thing that one could slip in and would hold the moisture like a cup but I found it messy and hard to get out as well. So I can so relate. Now I'm glad I'm past all of that and can emphasize with you.
from swordfern :
The Diva Cup has a little handle on the bottom with some grip on it. It is a lot easier to get out than the smooth rubber Keeper. I've never tried Instead. You still have to sort of bear down and push it out though... once you figure out the muscles it gets a lot easier!
from starhearts :
thanks for the warnings and I know that I am not going there!!! LOL oh dear! Glad you are ok! C.
from stjudas-dt :
Great Diary :) I'll come and read every now and then. yes Go Women Power!! btw March is dedicated to the women :) I am glad to be one. :D
from starhearts :
Hi :) Thanks for the note! I saw your trailer pop up and i liked the name you picked so I took a peak :) We have little parrots so I like birds aka liking your name. Yes I live in Ontario about 2 hours from Oakville. Yes we have snow and seem to be getting a bit more :( I like SPRING which I think you have more of out there!!!! Send some our way? :) tc Christine
from f-i-n :
happy turkey day
from devils-rose :
I speak English, Spanish, and a tiny bit of extremely basic German (I'm working on it). Oh, and thanks for the compliment to my entry. I don't have much time at the moment, but I'll check your journal out sometime when I have a moment. :)
from f-i-n :
Beautiful pix...
from sapphire02 :
I just saw your banner and clicked. I enjoyed your pictures and wanted you to know
from skye13 :
Hello, and thank you for your kind welcome! I speak English and Tagalog (Filipino). Though, I think I'm going to be a multi-linguist soon; I'm currently learning Japanese and Korean. Thanks once again. ^^ ~Marie
from cherfan1228 :
hello, I speak english, spanish, and german. ty for the welcome! :)
from hip2bme :
Thank you for the welcome! I speak portuguese, english, spanish (I just don't write, but I can read, speak and understand it) and very little swedish.
from genetikerin :
I know what you mean. I used to write here all the time and I'm just starting to again appreciate what a relief it was to get some of this stuff out in this way. And livejournal has become the same way.
from f-i-n :
don't vanish!
from ceck :
i stop by here every so often...you're still in my favourites list...lol. Christine.
from lotus1624 :
Thanks for the note. I'm not really bilngual, I'm more trilingual. I speak English, Tagalog, and French.
from tfrunner262 :
Hi, Thank-you for your note. I speak English and Spanish, and some German (although I may or may not be considered fluent in German). I tried taking French for a couple of weeks in high school (a somewhat pathetic attempt, but I did it because of a short-term scheduling conflict) and I greatly admire anyone who is able to speak French. I think I would have required some time to be able to get used to the accent! Maybe if I get time someday I'll be able to actually take a class or something though because I love learning languages in general. Thank-you again for the welcome note!
from f-i-n :
wow...i can't believe your camera phone took such a lovey, haunting photo.
from naturespirit :
Hi, Thank for leaving me a note. I speak English and Dutch (I live in Holland). Melanie
from rainforme :
i liked the way you desribed your girls night. i've had many just the same and it was cool to read it from your perspective.
from f-i-n :
i love atwood too! --adding you
from theophanu :
heyy, I speak German, English, some French, know Latin and therefore understand Italian. cya
from s-facesuper :
hey, sparrow. i speak english, french, haitian creole, and a very small bit of spanish. im not bilingual by definition, but im close! - smiley
from genetikerin :
Ugh, men! I think that's all I'm going to say for fear of sounding really bitter.
from genetikerin :
Very true. I think perhaps the problem is that I only have looking back until I can move forward, which is admittedly very soon. But part of me also never let go.
from rainforme :
beautifully written.
from f-i-n :
hihihihi
from rainforme :
happy birthday.
from genetikerin :
Thank you. Why can't people just mind their own business? :)
from brideof7less :
I wish I didn't know how you feel.
from lulu-2 :
Hi dearie- I understand the dairy not being a way for people to get to the inside ( or crutch, as you say)...some people try to use it as a way to "understand" you. Idiots, try to catch up in normal time. Good luck on what's up, though. Squeezes and happy thoughts, Lulu
from ceck :
I was at ACF too! You can check out some photos from that crazy day at my blog. Where on earth were you standing for K-os though??? I was up front and it was nuts! People were crying because of all the shoving! lol. C.
from hissandtell :
Hi again. Thanks so much for your lovely note; I was thrilled you enjoyed my writing, too. I'm going to come back and start reading more of your back entries this week. Love, R xxx
from hissandtell :
Hi - I'm visiting from sunshine0221's buddies' list. I wanted you to know that I'm really enjoying your writing; I've bookmarked you to read more of your diary. Love, R xxx
from ceck :
yup...just changing from Diaryland to Blogger though. I'm saving some of my entries, and then deleting them from the d-land archives. But you need to publish an entry in order to refresh the archives, lol. you can check out the new blog at: http://ceck.blogspot.com
from ceck :
That's really ironic that your Boy just had his wisdom teeth out...the redhead's girl had hers out a couple of weeks ago. Strannnge. LOL. I'll say hi to them for you, for sure. It was nutso at the Cellar last night...looking forward to Thursday! C.
from ceck :
heyyy...with St.Paddy's week just around the corner: are you planning on catching any TTP shows? They've got lots coming...and their website has just been renovated! take care and enjoy this amazing weather! Christine.
from bettyalready :
I too love Vancouver. I need to take my girls because they'd love it as well. Chai lattes are my spouse's favorite.
from lulu-2 :
P.S. I love Vancouver. I want to live there with all of the pretty little Canadian hippie kids I saw there one summer...they just seemed to have so much fun...and no responsibility...and no money...maybe I'll rethink the hippie thing, but Vancouver rocked!!
from lulu-2 :
So weird...Here I am, just updated and what-not...and here comes my buddy list saying that one of my faves is new, just now, while I'm on the freakin' thing. I don't know how often that happens..you know, writing while someone else you kinda 'know' is on & updating...anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one up.:) Much love, Lulu
from jbeckham7 :
Hi. Dropped by after seeing your banner. I like the way you describe what you like about your guy.
from candoor :
followed your banner, so now I am waving hi :)
from beth526 :
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I am still reading. I had to move my site to a different address because of some harassment issues. But if you'd like to read, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you the new site.
from themoodswing :
I love the cat on your diary :)
from to-my-heart :
I'm sorry about your bad day. I hope it gets better soon. I like your site. The picture of the cat is cute. Good luck with the experiment.
from ocean-front :
Hey, everything's going to be okay. These are just some bad days. You'll see next week with new chemicals, good results will fly in. Just go home now and enjoy something you really like (hot bubble bath or what ever) Be good to YOURSELF and don't worry. Big hug!
from sweetapril69 :
thanks for that msg, ya i started with it from a friend and then worked on it more. lol but ya anyways cheers.
from bettyalready :
it's gotta be the upbringing...like somehow they were raised as if they were an only child. I know a couple who raises both kids like that. Didn't think it were possible until I saw it. How weird that they HID the cup in back...I fess up when I do something wrong like that and offer to do something in return. Pay for it or whatever.
from bettyalready :
"I'm still convinced that his only child upbringing makes it so he doesn't quite understand some concepts the rest of us are forced to learn with our siblings. Like sharing." That's funny, even though my spouse has a sibling, both he and his sister are like this. I have no idea why. If he gets up to get a drink at dinner, he comes back w/ water for just him and doesn't ask. I don't get it.
from ceck :
Hey there. Well it's too bad you missed out on the NYE-Eve show...it was quite fun! They're playing the Blarney Stone this Wed and The Raven on Saturday (although you might already know this, lol.)I don't go to EVERY show...but most. I have so many friends that I've met through them, that's why we always go in these huge groups! Hehe. Hope you had a Happy New Year and that the snow isn't causing you any trouble, take care. - Christine
from metaldeftude :
Hey there. Well, this diary is a tad personal to me so I would not want to make it public. I hope you do understand. Would it be possible if I gave only you the password instead? If not, I'm awfully sorry for not being able to adhere to your diaryring criterion. Please do remove me from the ring then. Sorry for the trouble. Thank you.
from ocean-front :
So, how do you manage to not fall in love? I can't do this. When I love somebody I can't step back. Either I'm in love or I'm not.
from nikita84 :
Hello. Thank you for the warm welcome! Well, my first language is portuguese. I also understand, read and speak in spanish but i'm not so good when it comes to writing. And i know a little swedish. But very very little. That's about it! Take care and happy holidays! xxx
from brideof7less :
I see you've riled up the little, long-eared desert hedgehog. :) How seriously can you really take someone who voted for Bush anyway? ;) Oh yes, and closet ninjas are totally sexy!
from raven72d :
Just wait 'til the Evil Esquimaux come... Or 'til the batrachian Manx climb ashore from their sub-oceanic lairs... Of course-- maybe the Esquimaux will eat everyone in Alberta first...
from asdotcom :
I read you every time you update, but never have much to contribute in the way of notes. I find you interesting, and I just thought you should know that. Thank you for the Christmas present! :o) Merry Christmas!
from cedartrees :
that baby is *so* adorable :)
from lulu-2 :
What a weird lady. Maybe she's just an animal person. Eewww.
from ceck :
I'll be at the next TTP show......If you still keep up with my site I'm sure you know what I look like.....so don't forget to say 'hi' if you end up there....:) Christine. p.s. - if you want to be caught up on the lives of any of them...feel free to ask...;)
from bettyalready :
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
from bettyalready :
I haven't used adware and would like the links if you can spare the time! [email protected] . I don't think we have anything it would have a conflict with. We don't have Kazaa.
from bettyalready :
yea for updates. Dudeinski is me, btw, public diary.
from brideof7less :
Thanks...although you did have a desciption of him in the other journal. :)
from euphoriadied :
Hello. I speak English & Spanish.
from brideof7less :
Okay, good, so it's not just me. The boys here are good for fun but not much else, it seems. ;) I'm glad you always seem to relate when I otherwise feel like I'm crazy for feeling the way that I do. :)
from lulu-2 :
Sometimes you just take the words right out of my head and put them exactly where I need to see them. Whoa - if that isn't crazy, I don't know what is.
from misfitstray :
Well, I can speak german (of course), english, a bit french and a few weeks ago I've begun to learn spanish. Thanks for your welcome-message and many greetings from Germany. I love Canada. I hope that I'm able to move to BC one not too far day.
from ocean-front :
Well, I'm not that anonymous as I'm a D-lander too, but just wanted to say hello as you requested. I love your writing!
from cedartrees :
I've had an anonymous reader for like a year checking my page daily. They finally signed my book but didn't leave a name =/
from beth526 :
Just wanted to let you know that I'm still reading your diary and that I find your writing interesting. My new site is http://beth526.blogspot.com; feel free to check it out.
from d0wntown :
Thanks! I took a french course in Middle school! I wish I hadn't dropped it too soon :/ I also speak Spanish fluently, and I'm pretty fluent in Arabic and portuguese.
from lostlabrynth :
Thanks! Your welcome!
from brideof7less :
Thanks. :) I'm feeling much better now. Nothing's really changed but just knowing there are others starting this experience and hearing their strategies made me change my perspective. And really, I think I just needed to get out and have a good time.
from cedartrees :
aww, what site is that?
from brideof7less :
Good, because it'd be nice to go out for a change. Although, it has been rather nice to relax and take in the scenery by myself for a while. And really, if the science is good, I won't complain.
from brideof7less :
"the one whose face I see on every other I put in his place"...I've been having that issue. Did I ever tell you how great it is that you seem to appreciate Tegan & Sara just as much as I do? Are they pretty popular in Canada? I've not yet met one American familiar with them.
from brideof7less :
How well I understand pseudofreedom. I've been living it this summer, every summer...drawback of science, of academia in general. Pseudofreedom is definitely better than no freedom at all, but is a very poor, maddening substitute for the real thing. Glad that the weight will be lifted off your shoulders soon, at least for a little while.
from mzbs17 :
Oops. I just remove the password protect thing. So sorry.
from ceck :
good luck on your exam! christine
from inacrumbling :
hi there! thanks for the note and for accepting me so graciously into your ring :) i'm an english major who just finished up her spanish requirement ... i wouldn't say i'm fluent, exactly ... but i can handle the BASIC speak-read-translate bit (although i sometimes stumble - don't we all?). and i could definitely order a meal ... tendr el pollo con arroz, por favor.
from ceck :
aww!! she's adorable! congrats...:D
from whiskeybabe :
Hey it would be so awsome if u went to my diary! Its great like frosted flakes!
from cedartrees :
I sent you an email. I hope you got it, it's important! :)
from ceck :
heyyy...were you by any chance at kits beach on wed nite...??? i was there with some friends and from your pic i've seen online i swear i saw you...but wasn't brave enough to see if it really was you...lol. christine
from beth526 :
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that my diary is no longer running. I got really fed up with this site and just decided to call it quits when my diary wouldn't load for days on end. (I'm a gold member too, so I thought that was pretty unreasonable, plus they somehow completely deleted a couple of my entries. I'll still keep in touch with you via e-mail though and I hope you'll do the same.
from ceck :
bonne fete :) christine.
from beth526 :
I sent you my information via e-mail. Let me know if you didn't get it, because I got an error message the first time I hit send. Have a great weekend!
from beth526 :
I speak fluent Spanish. I've been teaching for a couple years and have recently decided to leave and go to a new job. What do you do? I added you to my favorite diaries.
from beth526 :
The reason I had my diary locked is because I was a teacher. Now that I am leaving, I may think about unlocking it and only locking certain entries, but it wouldn't be for a couple more weeks yet. I appreciate your interest though. Do you have AOL instant messenger? My screenname is Johnnysgirl101; maybe we could chat sometime and I can give you the username and password. :)
from moonshine76 :
I haven't said hello to you in a long while though I've been meaning to do so. So..hello, hello! :D
from swordfern :
wow I'm glad that mail truck didn't send you to the hospital :)
from infrequency :
that block should have worked! should have put it in the garage.
from lastyeargirl :
One of these days I hope to do just that. I'd need a little more money, and a little more time, but I want to just take off, with no idea where I'm headed or what adventures are going to befall me. My best friend was suggesting the same thing on the phone the other night. I think it's what I try to do every time I play the "getting on the first bus that goes by" game I've become so fond of lately.
from brideof7less :
Yeah, not to mention that he said it about a month ago and I told him we needn't go there. I feel like sort of a jackass wanting to say it now sometimes. And your last entry, I completely understand. I went backpacking for two months four years ago and have been completely restless ever since. There is something thrilling about arriving in a city, not knowing where you're going to stay that night, not knowing where you're going to be tomorrow.
from brideof7less :
Thanks for the congrats! It feels pretty damn good to be done, that's for sure. Boys, I wish I could keep them all. The good ones at least. :)
from discodave :
I agree totally with you about Glamorama - it was written in exactly the same way as American Psycho, yet it lacked everything that made that a good book (not necessarily a good read I might add, but a good book, certainly). It just seemed nastier, if anything. Give me Coupland any day. Or Banks. Or Stephen King, in the name of all that is schlocky. Dxx
from elijah1981 :
Yeah, thanks for you welcome note to me, too :D I speak English and Spanish.
from runninginsf :
Hi, thanks for the welcome note! I speak fluent Spanish and English and would say I could swing Italian 70% of the time. Learning Italian in college, however, completely wiped out the French I'd learned in high school. I guess this brain on has a 2 1/2 language capacity!
from asdotcom :
That was a good read.
from cedartrees :
Oh! A day in Vancouver would be great. Perhaps July, depending on what my summer plans are. I'm going to hold you to that, you know. xx.
from ceck :
aww...Starbucks. hehe. Yup, I spent a good eight hours there today (working of course). I do love it so. :) christine
from infrequency :
maybe i've been saying it a lot lately, but welcome to my world.
from ceck :
oyvey! While I can completely imagine friends of mine, fellow students, etc. to complain of such a tragedy...I personally think it's a little cRaZy...lol. My suggestion...just write the exam really fast...and then be out of there, haha. oy. christine
from ceck :
hehe. ahhh...Jetsgo. I flew with them last summer numerous times...never lost my luggage though...hmmm....
from swordfern :
it's the green smiley on the tail of the plane that unnerved me!
from brideof7less :
Ugh, Vegas! Sorry, gut reaction. :) Thanks for the congrats a while back. Just let me know if you're near Wrzburg next year!
from ceck :
hehe...yeah, i enjoy that picture too, thanks! maybe i will send it to them...they'd get a kick out of it that's for sure! good luck on all the final semesters stuff...i can feel summer...it's so very close...ahhhh....ck
from parlance :
Thank you very much :]
from ceck :
that's so awesome that you get to go home for easter...:) hope you have a great visit! and yes...april needs to come faster...(school ending...lent being over = i can drink coffee again!)
from parlance :
Are you a cat person? I definitely am. Watching my dog hump people today was another turning point towards cats.
from cedartrees :
hee, hee! those are great pics :-)
from ceck :
hehe...nice pics! And the term The Kissing Bandit...ahhh, I love it! LOL! christine
from wovangel :
lol. You Pary animal!! I'm going to an R&B Party soon.. i hope.
from ceck :
I liked that alphabet quiz thing too...that's funny...I never noticed the 'o' was missing though! LOL! DOH! Well...off to rest some awfully tired eyes...that have been awake for 22 hours now...ahhhh....we really will actually have to MEET one of these days you know, lol! Christine
from bizznitch :
Hey! I speak polish, spanish, and some portuguese (I'm learning it, let's just say I know enough of it to have go shopping in Brazil..). Also I speak esperanto like a native. Haha j.k but I do speak it, sort of as a joke I learned it when I was 5 or so because I was so odd and thought it might come in handy one day. (Still waiting for that day to come...) ~Hannah
from brideof7less :
It is indeed a difficult business. It is really good for me to hear your impressions on packing up and moving where you know virtually no one, where you must start over. Knowing I'm leaving so soon is making me such a mess and my plans still have yet to be solidified.
from ceck :
ah, so you did know...i guess it was pretty obvious on my site beforehand wasn't it? lol. always nice to have fun fridays...enjoy the sunshine! christine
from ceck :
that would have been interesting if you had ended up at the railway club friday night...if you read my latest entry...you'll know why. or, maybe you knew already...sounds like you had quite the friday night though! christine
from wovangel :
thank you! I do appreciate how you pay attention to what's happening. It's not that bad. I'm just confused. Really confused.
from ceck :
I'm hungry too. How long did you wait for him? Met someone new on Monday....he even drove me home...but I can't remember his name...ugh...how awful is that?? Christine
from wovangel :
Sounds like FUN! :D So do you go on the bus often? (If you've said in your enry, forgive me, i'm not myself today!).
from discodave :
heh - the fellow opressed celts living under English tyranny. Or something ;) Enjoy the gig. Dxx
from brideof7less :
I thought I would be happy to find someone as busy as I am too, but actually I'm quite unhappy with him. Our schedules clash and it's been making me quite insecure in our relationship. I'm not saying you and your boy will be the same way at all, it just reminded me of the way I thought at the beginning of "Markus" and me. Hopefully things will work out much better for you.
from wovangel :
I don't know were the places you are talking about are.. but i like how you could leave your troubles on the platform. I wish i could do that.. erm.. yea.
from ceck :
yeahh...I tried to ignore that "artists" comment...hehe...I have to say also, I loved reading your latest entry about taking the seabus. I often feel the same way...I just love looking at the city get smaller as I sail away towards N.Van...where I happen to spend a fair amount of time...:) Enjoy the sunshine! Christine
from ceck :
hehe...smooching is always a good thing...i definitely agree....i will fill you in about my monday soon enough...i have to say, it's great when it's your birthday...free drinks...and very friendly people! kisses, hugs, ass slaps, free booze...what more could you ask for? lol. tuesday was painful...but i've survived...talk soon....christine
from ceck :
Yup...I'm now 21...Monday night was way too much fun...it did involve those Panted boys...esp. the blonde one...hehe...I've got a few hilarious pics from that night I'll send your way...And yes...CRAZY good times with my friend...ohh mannn...lol ;) xo christine
from brideof7less :
Sounds delicious! Good luck with your new boy toy!
from wovangel :
Thank you a bunch for your advice, your so cool! I (Heart) nice people who help me out! *hug* Oh.: "I'm so nosy! tell us about your date. :D" Yeah, maybe you are nosy, but your not the only one *Blush*
from brideof7less :
That sounds promising. Do tell!
from cedartrees :
I'm so nosy! tell us about your date. :D
from wovangel :
A date? Oh.. i wanna hear all about it.. i mean, if you don't mind.. and i need your wisdome, i have had a load of problems wif peope at school can you read my diary and help? Thank you soo much in advance!
from ceck :
Oooooh....a daaaate....hehe ;) Have fun!
from infrequency :
wow. i have a similar problem. i can't sleep if music is playing, i find i just listen to it insdtead of relaxing. the same goes for reading.
from wovangel :
Lol. Yeah, your rite about Heth Ledger, he is really, really cute! (Or Sexy, sweet, hott, HOT, Fit.. however you want to put it!). :D Thank you for all the shakspear stuff.. i don't know when we'll be reading the books though.. they havn't told us yet, but i get to lern about the Supernatural, and Crime and some other stuff in this Extension english thing (I love english! :D)
from rocio717 :
Hi!I joined in Bilingual ring because I like learning languages and now I speak Russian,Estonian and English.I also know some phrases in French and Spanish. These are my favorite languages:)
from starlight42 :
I clicked on your banner with the woman, since I believe it was from the book girl with the pearl earring, which I loved! Anyway, I love the pic of your cat on the design- I also love cats!
from dylanwashere :
Hey, cool cat.
from wovangel :
Oh cool.. (I read your note!), I havnt seen: "10 things i hate about you" yet, but i am hoping to see it some time soon.. :D But i suppose that would be like "dangerous leasons" and "cruel intentions" Woulding it? A remake of an old story, with new words.
from wovangel :
Yeah, my school has a whole stack of theise sad and depressing, blood and gor shakspear novels, i could go to my local librery.. Yep, that's what i'll do.. Thank you for the advice on the funny shakespear novels. :D
from brideof7less :
Its funny, until I just read your note, I didnt realize how much I was contradicting myself. If I have so much I fear leaving behind, I must feel like I belong somehow and now more than ever, I have. I think Im just very confused right now, because the next few months are so transitional. I dont know how you felt your last couple of months in Montreal, but Ive been on such an emotional rollercoaster, so very excited to be moving on to bigger and better things and so very sad to be leaving the life I have always led behind.
from wovangel :
I added you to my faverets. :D But i couldn't think of what to write, i'll probably change it, but that'l do for now, wont it? I once herd a quote somewere: "Have you ever herd of a shaksperian joke?" Since i have never really gotten into Shakespear, i try but don't really like how you have to translate it all the time, i just assumed it was like all blood and stuff, what plays are funny? I may read them. :D
from rae-828 :
Thanks for the wake up call....LOL...I really didn't notice that I really didn't talk much about myself....I speak english and spanish...I would love to speak french though...I have always wanted to learn....But never had the opportunity to use it...so I dropped the class...Thank you for leaving a note for me to remind me how I should be proud of this wonderful gift to be able to speak 2 languages....HUGS and TTYL
from wovangel :
Of corce i'm enjoying your diary! I really like your diary, do you mind if i add it to my fave' diarys? :D And umm.. nah, i didn't make it, i have made an Elijah one, but i am going to put it up when i am sick of my current one. :D
from wovangel :
I just read your diary, it seams every time i come here you always have something interesting to say, are you like that all the time or just in your diary? Coz if you were.. well.. you'd be the most interesting person i've meet! :D (I think you would anyway.. lol, i can't really remember all the people i meet.. i move around too much!)
from brideof7less :
I'd totally be up for drinks whenever. :) I absolutely hate the microtome in our lab. One bad section and you lose twenty flies, some mutants of which occur very rarely. Ugh, bad, frustrating memories.
from wovangel :
I really like your diary! I find your writing clear and true! :D And the layouts pritty cool too.. lol!
from giaguara :
Ciao Sparrow ;) .. more a bilingual spanish-italian .. so with english thats a trilingual. ;) and yes, i speak portuguese too .. which ipod do you have? :)
from brideof7less :
Don't you just love the words they use in an attempt to string you along. My personal favorite was "maybe this is for the best...at least for now" in an email with the subject line "I'm sorry..." I completely understand the anger.
from brideof7less :
Thanks. I always like associating a face with the words. I loved your entry on the 9th, by the way. And oh how well I can relate to your entry on the 3rd.
from cedartrees :
you go, Robin! I really liked that last entry. :)
from ceck :
mmm...I *heart* martinis! Is it so wrong to be longing for one at 10am? Green apple ones are zee best! christine
from ceck :
Happy New Year to you too! I just stayed at home with my mom...sad, yes - do I regret it? No. I was recovering from the night before...as I'm sure you read on my site. I have classes downtown in the evenings Monday-Thursday...so if you ever want to grab a drink or something, let me know! Take care, Christine
from brideof7less :
I'm from Vegas and we just recently had freakish, but beautiful snowfall too. The first thing I did was run outside and take pictures, but I knew traffic would be terrible because no one in the desert knows how to drive properly in wet weather. Lurk all you want, I'm just glad someone's reading. Happy New Year!
from swordfern :
Wow 'tis a small town :)
from brideof7less :
Only on vacation...that brings back memories of being the lucky and the not so lucky one.
from ceck :
No worries about the Railway Club...I didn't end up going after all...I was just too exhausted. A friend came over and we rented some dvds instead :) It's almost Christmas! Yay!! :D Christine
from discodave :
They finished a tribute programme about Johnny Cash on the BBC with the video to his version of Hurt. It was like an obituary to his life - very sad. Glorious, but sad. Dxx
from cedartrees :
Heh heh. I never heard the term, "Mandatory Metallica" before. And yes, I was listening to Johnny Cash on my earphones and I read your entry and was all "YEAH!". So yeah. :)
from discodave :
Heh - yes, very appropriate (especially given the weather that night). I took my life in my hands, rather and drank entirely too much rum. I blame Johnny Depp. Dxx
from ceck :
hey! how's it going? i'm still planning on being at the railway on dec.12...sooo, if you want to meet up there, email me! :) hope the last few weeks go smoothly! (if that's possible...haha)
from sumchik :
hey =) thanks for the note. I speak Spanish. I want to learn French so i'm just waiting til my friends take it next year so they can teach me heh -grs
from pink-sun :
that's awesome! i probably will end up going into journalism since i love to write so much but i'm sure i can also take some bio courses in college just for the fun of it. i can't wait until next year. i'm so excited about going to college and being on my own. it should be an interesting experience. <3
from pink-sun :
:) i agree. actually, i change my mind so much it's hard to say what i want to go into. i am very good at english and language, so it would make since for me to go into journalism or romething like that. biology still appeals to me though. i love the outdoors. it's wonderful. by the way, what other language do you speak. i speak fluent spanish and a little chinese.
from skypie :
hey... sorry you're catching the tail end of the skypie. don't worry, there's a huge archive. thanks for reading! xox
from pink-sun :
Why thank you! I actually just changed my layout though. The last one was someone else's design, and I usually try to make my own. I love your layout also! I love cats. Hence, I'm in a cat-lover ring also. Wow.
from ceck :
that sucks!!! hope your computer troubles are over soon...such awful timing too! right at the end of semester...eek!
from brideof7less :
"drowning my sorrows in boys" What a fantastic phrase to describe exactly what I'm doing right now. Good luck. I hope you have your cake and eat it too. :)
from infrequency :
it sounds cool, and it is cool. but it's also a pasin in the ass. if i ever decide to move it'll be three times the ordeal it should be. cheers.
from brideof7less :
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have learned so much in the process of writing it that I really do feel like it has been worth it, whether or not I receive the money. My only real complaint, other than it's hard, it sucks etc., is that it has been so distracting from my course work and experiments.
from ceck :
lol. isn't being sick just grand? *sigh* and it's only monday...:P
from ceck :
LOL. yeah, i'm out of it. i can't even tell the difference between "here" and "hear"..oyvey.
from ceck :
my head is currently full of goo too. ugh. i hate it!!! it's one of those colds where i went to bed feeling fine and woke up feeling like crap. blech. tylenol cold and sinus is my friend...and i here ya on the good kleenex...
from discodave :
Oh, this was the sort of place that had a high turnover of staff, rude staff and could be crap one week and brilliant the next but - yeah - it was where we hung out. They actively encouraged a different sort of person to go there - it's sad when you're moved on from where you felt you belonged. Ah well, time to get drunk somewhere else, is all ;) Dxx
from discodave :
I can't work out if I feel dirty for using the word meme or not - it just feels wrong somehow. Dxx
from ceck :
I do enjoy seafood - but not that much of it at once...lol.But yes, those guys are quite yummy. Have fun with your friend from home tonight - it sounds like you need a break! (I don't enjoy midterms either...2 down, 1 to go.) Christine :)
from imisstheusa :
That is way cool. I am in the Vende right on the beach, it is super chill. You know there is such a thing as email. lol, dare I ask a/s/l?
from imisstheusa :
Hey, and thanks. You must be british eh? I dont think anyone else woulda used the term cheers other than a british person. Anyhoo, that is cool that you did school in france for three years. I am only doing one. Thanks again, you seem real chill, Krys
from ceck :
Happy Thanksgiving!! :)
from ceck :
yeah...i've hurt my wrist and hand...it hurts oodles and is slightly swollen...:( i just wrote about it on my site.....thanks for asking though! too sweet :)
from powercut :
hey there thanx for the welcome! u guessed wrong, spanish is my 1stlanguage :D english my 2nd and im learning german at the moment but i suck so far haha
from ceck :
congrats on the new place! it's always nice to find all your stuff again...:) and ooooh...always fun to here about hottie classmates ;) i have 2..heh heh...they make class so much more enjoyable, don't you find?
from jmlover23 :
Thnx for the welcome into the bilingual ring... that's kool-aid. heehee Your diary is so crunkadelic... why is everyone else's life so much more interesting than mine?! random thought Adios, ~*mri*~
from ceck :
wow!! i'm so jealous of your great day of window shopping...gotta love it! :) and Lonsdale Quay?! dude - i love it there! all those yummy smells...mmm...i was actually there on friday just before meeting up with my aunt and cousins. hope this week goes just as swell as your weekend...:)
from wench77 :
hey, hear you're in Montreal. me too. hope you're doing better than your latest entry seems to indicate. I'm just writing to tell you i stole your background color to replace the regular dark blue in the template... hope you dont mind... i linked to you... so, if you want to read someone else sad and depressive exhibiting themselves online... and hey, i even ended up with a kitty pic too today... just cuz i already had it scanned in... take care!
from ceck :
hope you feel better soon...and the offer still stands if you ever want to meet up with someone in the area to talk or just have a drink. leave me a note or email...:)
from ceck :
hey there...just read your latest entry...aww! :( i take classes 3 days a week downtown if you ever want to meet for a coffee or something...and a bonus: i even work at starbucks, so i can get a good deal ;) just let me know...:)
from ceck :
as things turned out, i didn't end up going either...hopefully next time though! i was just too tired after this past week, and work this morning...spent the evening watching Trading Spaces and Sex and the City instead...lol *exciting*! maybe we'll meet up at another of their shows instead...Christine
from ceck :
well i'm glad things should get better then...you know, he emailed me on...wednesday i believe, and he seemed REALLY out of it - not that funny (which as you obviously know is quite unusual for him...i was telling a friend about how i 'met' you and the whole deal here, and she thought it would be funny if we were to arrive together, lol! I told her that was fairly unlikely, but yes, it would be hysterical :) i think it'll be funny enough just seeing us talk - btw, there's pics of me on my site..if that helps...haha...well anyway, off to bed, ttyl christine
from ceck :
LOL! I'm sorry...this is not funny at all...just sooo ironic for me! That dumb redhead and I have actually emailed back and forth a bit in the past few weeks...he's such a great guy....but don't worry...I'm too young for that dumb redhead...you know...I think it might really freak him out if he found out that you and I "knew" each other...I mean, I'm still a little weirded out by this! If you do decide to come....leave me a note or email me...I'm for sure going now, and, it would be cool to meet you! Anyway, off to my *lovely* art history class....at least it's at the downtown campus...:) seeya, christine
from ceck :
hey there! thanks for adding me to your buddy list...i will do have to do the same...:) so...do you know if you're going on saturday to see the Pants or not? i'm pretty sure i am...the only thing stopping me would be if my friend backs out...but she won't...i'll make sure of that! oh yeah...something in your latest entry made me look twice...the part about having a show in coquitlam on wednesday night.....it was ironic because the Pants had a show then and there too...now don't tell me you're dating aaron or dave...;) (cause duane is taken of course.)...ttyl christine
from brideof7less :
Men can be so disappointing at times. I hope he gets his act together, especially now when being in the same city offers the potential to make it work. I'm struggling through a long distance relationship myself...
from brideof7less :
Yay! I'm going to add you to my buddy list for that if you don't mind. Not to mention that I absolutely love Stephen J. Gould too.
from brideof7less :
Vielen Dank! I see you're also a biologist. I do a little plant work but I mostly do neurobiology now. Do you know what my diary name references? As of yet, no one has so I'd be happy to know at least someone gets it.
from ceck :
Very cool! So obviously you're at UBC here in Vancouver - I'm actually at SFU...what are you studying there? I have a few friends at UBC, and yes I completely agree - the campus is gorgeous! Btw, my name is Christine.
from ceck :
I see the Pants are now playing Wednesdays at the Foggy Dew in Coquitlam...! Too bad I work Wed's :( Oh well...looking forward to the 20th! Hope you can make it too :)
from ceck :
are you going to see The Town Pants on Sept.20 in West Vancouver? I'm hoping to be there! Should be loads of fun...they're awesome guys! :)
from equivocally :
Of course, thank you. :)
from ceck :
i was checking out my music selections in my profile, and i decided to check out how many others had The Town Pants listed as a favourite...and guess what?! it's just you and me! too cool! :)
from lulu-2 :
Thank you - I appreciate it. Much love - Lulu
from teddygrahamf :
no others yet, i'm trying to teach myself celtic, and i want to learn the 'divine language' from fifth element... (if that counts) i know bits n peices of it so far. you're the first person who's sent me a welcome message for they're ring. thought i'd mention that n say thanks. it was really nice of you.
from poppyfish :
Thanks for joining the Jack Sparrow diaryring, matey! Where is all the rum?!
from lulu-2 :
Yeah, it is strange to think that you are not much importance in people's lives until they actually let you know. It's nice to feel needed, even if you only find out that you were only needed when you didn't know you were. (Yes, I know that's confusing, but hopefully you get it). Much love - Lulu
from moonshine76 :
How odd!! I was just about to sign and tell you that I heard Simon & Garfunkel's song "Sparrow" on the way home from work and thought of you. And then you signed my notes and I was all "Awww". Hee, hee. As for the drawings, I was thinking of scanning...I do have a nice scanner. Hmmmm. [schemes]
from snailpetal :
Hola - just wanted to thank you (albeit belatedly) for placing me on your list of favourites...do come back soon...I will be posting some pics of my dive trip to Egypt and Sudan. Oh and enjoy your weekend :) Clara
from bipolargirl :
yea, it would have been nice if they READ it. just shake it off - i know it's easier said than done, but shake it off
from discodave :
Cheers honey - I'm not really that worried about it - but you're right - there is nothing to toughen you up, except prolonged exposure. Sigh. Dxx
from lastyeargirl :
Heehee, of course I don't mind. I just get nosey when I see new names!
from lastyeargirl :
Hello :) (curious)
from lulu-2 :
I checked back in on you. Where are you? You are a great writer and very interesting. I need to know more.
from moonshine76 :
I clicked your random entry thing about ten times. Your diary is lovely to read, and I've always liked the kitty picture :)
from lulu-2 :
Whoa-very weird. I also lost a friend on the tracks. I talked to him a half hour before he died-I think I was the last person to do so. Trains bring it all back everytime I hear or see one. I used to love the sound of the train happily clicking over the tracks, but now all I hear is the deep and thunderous rumble as the train rushes on.
from silverbiker :
oh my..those parties..they get a kick outta me..but of course they are pretty strange..name em' and i've been to them.. by the way..i love the kitty on your diary! ahh! BEAUTIFUL!
from bipolargirl :
hey - hang in there - it will be great. we'll be here when you get back ;)
from discodave :
Yeah - this is the time to watch all the evil politicians try and sneak unpleasant legislation past the media too - one spin-doctor infamously suggested that a story should be leaked whilst everyone was transfixed by september 11th. Where's the money in the Congo? Machete's don't make good tv. Dxx
from discodave :
Methinks they've all watched Twelve Monkeys too often. At least, I hope that's all it is. Dxx
from angelofrayn :
LOL. Thanks! I showed my best friend, and she was like "oh... that one... I've seen it so many times... its really popular." I was like... PUNK! I was proud that I could master some html to modify it to fit me (linking and stuff). Talk abou a blow to my ego... :) Thanks a lot!!!! PS... I like your cat on yours too. :
from ilonina :
*giggle* I don't mind at all - but I do find it vastly amusing that you are using me as a model of HTML wisdom. Good luck with the marriage and babies weirdness - I try my hardest to avoid it myself!
from discodave :
De nada. I don't know why, but I keep saying that these days. That and "gesundheit". I'm not even sure what the literal translation of that is... Dxx
from bipolargirl :
baby stuff is completely foriegn to me as well
from discodave :
Oh lord...there really is no end of stupid things in the world is there? I think that'd just encourage me to switch to spirits really - thanks for the info. Dxx
from asdotcom :
Let me know how you liked the book. -AS!
from discodave :
The sad thing is that Kitchener was an evil bugger too - he invented the concept of Concentration Camps. Kennedy actually called himself a hotdog when he visited Germany (A Berliner being a regional variety of a frankfurter). God, I'm full of useless twaddle. Dxx
from discodave :
Did I say thanks for linking me or not? I don't think I did. Thanks. Nice writing, by the way. Dxx
from asdotcom :
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster
from bipolargirl :
your entry about your scars is beautiful and haunting. that tool a lot of courage to write about. and it was so well written. i really feel for you with your thesis. sometimes you reallyy need to give your mind a break, regardless on how much 'writing' you are actually doing. good wishes to you, my friend.
from bipolargirl :
hey - i'm glad you found me!!! i love your diary and i LOVE your pics of europe. i've only been to greece twice, so i am envious that you did the whole tour!! some day, though, some day. you make some 'right on' comments about immigration. my grandfather's father was a hungarian homesteader in esterhazy, saskatchewan. gramps became a citizen after he married my grandma. also on my other side of the family, i am an ancestor of scottish poet robert burns. again, thanks for stopping in. best of luck on the thesis.
