The letter may not be a prank, but a hoax or scam or even real. Here is how the scam works... They send out letters, get the info and then ask for $$. They sometimes hit small businesses and bill them for supplies they never use. In this case, they may be phishing, sort of. I also deal with attorneys on my job (former job) from time to time. Those "lemon mills and ambulance chasers" sometimes send out quick letters looking for a response. They are quick and dirty and are looking for a settlement. Hey, it they can generate a quick, cheap and dirty letter and grab $2,000 - $5,000 off someone poor bastard, then why not. Think of it, they send out 500 letters and get a two third response rate to settle, then they make a very quick buck...

The thing people forget in relationships, and I myself have done it before. No one completes you. You are a whole person, on your own. Luke should be HIS own person and together you are TWO people ina relationship. Never lose your identity in a relationship. Never. We can give advice but in the end it's all about you, and what you need. I say you take some time to figure out what you want out of life and your relationship with Luke and then talk to each other when you're both calm. I would say that if Luke is that insecure about your relationship with him and then with Zak, truly that is his problem. But since you care about both of them that makes it your in way. If he can't trust you not to cheat or whatever he thinks you're going to do that is bad, that is a big sign. Usually people who are nervous like that are insecure or cheating themselves. I'm not saying he is, just could be an idea. Here's the big thing: tell him he can't control you, can't forbid you from seeing someone, and if he doesn't agree with you on that, get rid of him. The first signs of an abusive relationship are controlling and forbidding. I've been there. If he really doesn't trust you in the end, and this sounds like a trust issue to me, then he doesn't deserve you and you need someone better. I hope this helps. I'm sorry you're having a bad time. It sucks. You shouldn't have to give up your friends, especially one you've had as long as you say. Especially when that friend is being shipped out. That's a time when he needs to hear from you, and you need to talk to him. There is no place for jealousy in a situation like that. In the long run, you are allowed to have whatever friends you want. If you are committed to Luke, you will not stray. And he needs to trust you on that. In the immediate future, calm down and take a break. Get done what absolutely has to be done (work,school,sleep,whatever). When both of you are calm, get comfy with tissues, and have a talk. It'll get better. If you are both committed to the relationship, you'll need to learn how to talk it out. I've found that after a few hours, or days, sometimes, we'll connect back together, figure out what happened, and learn. It'll be okay. Sorry I write too much and sound lecture-y, but I'm like that. I do hope it turns out okay. Take care!

Hey, I also had a friend try to commit suicide. He was gay and smoking weed like they were cigarettes. Also his mom and dad had a lot of problems. It's hard to see people that way, and knowing that you can't really do anything to help no matter how bad you want to. It felt that way to me, because we had no idea that there were problems until after it happened.
