If you just want a small artificial tree, we now have two. I have 3ft and a 4.5 ft pre-lit artificial trees that I've used in apartments, and when we didn't want a real tree. They are both nice, but I don't have ornaments and room for 2 or 3 trees up. Let me know if you want one. :)

"[E]vil theocratic meglomaniac"? C'mon, tell us how you really feel. I am SO glad that, unlike you, I don't have to listen to CNN all day.

College algebra gave me fits, too. It's kind of comforting that one of the most intelligent women has the same problem, though I'm sorry it's not going well. I did try a study group, which wasn't much help. Had I not known a math major one floor down in the dorm I doubt I'd have gotten the C I eventually scored. So my suggestion is - find someone who groks algebra and can also translate from science major speek to liberal arts. :)

Almost all email that asks you to verify security info, credit info, etc. is a scam. I get literally dozens every week. Some of them are very sophisticated, such as one that tells me I need to verify my ISP information, complete with a signature from the "XXX Support Team." You probably know, but never use a link sent to you in an email. Here's a page Amazon put up to help identify phishing attempts: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/15835501/002-8585917-6510456

Just saw Serenity tonight... I was pissed about Wash. :( It seemed so senseless that I assumed the actor didn't want to get wrapped into a series of films (if that's what is intended) so he was written out. On the other hand, it does make sense that a crew would not go through that completely intact. And why does any sci fi film seem to require near destruction of the friggin ship? I wondered about that injection, too, but no reference to it at all might mean it was just some curious stage business.

UofA was lovely, small but lovely. I volunteered to help out at the reg table, but Clare, Thjora and Helmut had it under control. I made a basket, and we talked too much after dinner, thus loosing track of time and missing seeing Serenity in theater down in NC. Alan and I saw it last night, very good, so pissed about the deaths!

"...indeed there is a white male hegemony out there that only likes to hire in their own image, and can do no wrong in one another's estimation" Yes, there is. It is called the Federalist Society.

I THINK that as long as the student discloses the impediment, the University admitting them has to work to help them learn. I know at least in the online classes, if a hearing impaired student enrolls, then the University pays for transcripts of audio materials, etc. Haven't seen you in ages, hope the re-fi gets done with soon.

You are thinking about becoming more active in the SCA and you think a good way to do it is go to a meeting? *Boggle*. Heh.

Shoot him. It's the only way to be safe.

You need a guestbook! I never know if anybody reads their "notes"... Anyhoo, remember when I was seeing Duke Richard FitzAlan and came up to spend the July 4th weekend with Keilyn? I had a flat and Richard and Rhys changed the tire, and just as they finished, somebody mentioned something about AAA and I said, yeah, I had it. It had NEVER crossed my mind to use it for changing a tire (because I'd always just changed my own), even in that 97 deg heat! Rhys was a bit peeved! (laughing) Email me sometime! [email protected]

Hey! I didn't get to you in time. You should take your Good Faith and insist on going up the ladder. The more irritated you are, the more possibility there is that they might offer some sort of compensation cut on the points or something.

Thermostats are fairly easy to replace. Just make sure to shut off the Heating and AC unit(s) at the fusebox before you start!

How the F can they have a sneak preview 4 months prior? That's way messed up! Unfair!

Scrapple? You like Scrapple! Shocked I am!

Hmmm. I have been having trouble with how distinctly different the two Orders are and how they approach things as well.

I've seen something of the sort on _every_ elist I've ever been on. This, too, shall pass.... At least it is more interesting than the digression of jokes and blather about M&Ms on the other list.

Good morning. Welcome to D-land. Hope you are having fun in Italy. Watch out for museum overload.

The button and trim stores are often the ones that sell thread, if that helps any :) Fabric store of interest: Fodere Marik, Via della Spada, 35r

I find SCA articles referenced in a lot of places. I still have an issue with the heraldic "bucket shop" in Canada that completely plagaraized my Animal Blazonry article so as to enhance the credibility of their wares. Too bad for them that my flippant prose undermines their goal....

You've been here since *April?!?* Welcome... belatedly. :)

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
