Hope your sister is doing better soon, I haven't been on here for a few days so didn't know what was goingon, sounds pretty scary :(
from strawberrri :
i kinda wish i was into BB this year. that clip of ben and the clown made me genuinely LOL. ignore the obvious = surely one of the best tasks ever. and jedward?! haha!
from strawberrri :
funnily enough it did come up that the only other barrister to ask me out was married with kids and assured me he has neither. he's only a comparative youngster (as in 7 years older than me) anyway :) i did another 9k yesterday; it's been getting easier. i get to a point around 4k when i sort of want to stop but it's only in my mind - my body is more than capable of doing the rest these days. my mantra is 'never, never, never give up.' it'll be cycling this weekend though as i'm going back to stevenage for the first time in what seems like far too long.
from stardumb :
wonderful! great username also! :)
from catsoul :
How about FarmVille on FB. Did you ever watch Dexter? Just some ideas. =^..^=
from strawberrri :
lance is a prima donna.
from strawberrri :
ahh, stupid blockers! my firefox doesn't seem to like uploading stuff so i always have to use the simple uploader in gmail and photobucket. gary died ages ago! i don't know if i ever wrote about it in here. we will get some more fish, especially as jenn has bought a special sponge bob tank, so they should be more comfortable :) i don't think the fish bowl gave gary and tony enough oxygen sadly. OMG spain just scored. go octopus predictor, go!!!
from skinnylizzie :
Meh, I don't buy it. The only reason I am still this pathetic about him is because he is not normal and refuses to listen to me when I tell him to bugger off. Bloody men! (present company excepted, obviously)
from strawberrri :
brilliant! happy 4th july to you :)
from strawberrri :
sorry i missed your birthday john - i hope you enjoyed it. i helped out some new yorkers today. i was in a newsagent buying a bottle of water to take to the gym and they wanted an oyster card each to travel on the underground. they didn't understand a word the cashier said so i translated for them and told them which ticket they needed to get. good deed for the day done!
from pikachu1lt :
Attractiveness isn't about what is on the outside but what is on the inside and so many fail to see beyond the outer shell. I should know. I am 315 lb I consider myself ugly but the man that I fell in love with 3 years ago finds me beautiful even after he got married with a kid on the way. So do others but I fail to see what they do. AS for not having enough money or food. I KNOW how that is more then you can possibly imagine. LIFE is no bed of roses it has more thorns then flowers. Just hang in there and keep plugging forward.
from buffylass :
So pleased Clijsters got it together and won in the end - that first set was a little painful to watch!
from buffylass :
Well, fingers crossed she does - wish they'd put the match on Centre though, rather than Court One. I'm working on an entry but it's taking ages - I always find it really difficult to sum up a long passage of time without it being an utter bore fest.
from buffylass :
I really hope Clijsters wins against Henin - for some reason I have a huge soft spot for her.
from shot-of-tea :
John... how is that like my situation?! Haha :)
from shot-of-tea :
Hi John! Ahh I miss Rose, never quite got into the series' after she left. I don't mind the comparison too much either, despite her massive teeth :) Hope you're well.
from skinnylizzie :
See, that's the kind of job I need, diving in Egypt every day! Now if only my degree had covered Ancient Egypt and not just Antony and Cleopatra's little bonkfest, I'd be sorted. Damn it. Hope you're okay, thanks for the link (and by the way, I totally forgot to reply to your note about Chester, but did you ever make it to York? It's like a slightly better version of Chester if you're into history (and I am a geek so I love it), and Constantine was even declared emperor though. Oh yeah, half six in the morning and my brain still works! Sort of...)
from strawberrri :
hi john, well it's breakfast time in the UK and my fish are still here! i worried because they didn't start feeding at first, but tony soon picked it up, and gary copies everything tony does (he spends a lot of time chasing him round the bowl, even though he's the runt :) so they've both got the hang of it. i got some solution stuff you put in the water to make tap water safe for them. jenn will be looking after them while i'm at glastonbury so your prediction may be right, though i hope not!
from strawberrri :
jenn's friend andrea plays little john's wench in robin hood. she comes and helps us out at the old bailey when she's not acting!
from strawberrri :
nice going!
from yellow-ninja :
Thanks, John!
from blujeans-uk :
Thank you John. I think officially it will be Mr and Dr. I can still be Mrs on my days off!
from blujeans-uk :
Amy POND, dude! Try season one for the history, and two for the magic of David Tennant and Billie Piper.
from pikachu1lt :
I have been reading your diary for a little while now and I see that you and I have some similarities. It is really hard to be alone and try to do things. I am having a great deal of trouble adjusting to being single after 16 years.
from strawberrri :
hope you'll be back and still read us in the meantime!
from buffylass :
Hey John, I would love to but I'm incredibly shy when it comes to my playing, and also worry that posting a video of me playing is like one big ego inflate. So there's two problems for you to try and fix!
from strawberrri :
thanks john, i feel absolute mega shit at the moment, but certainly not worse than other break ups i've gone though, so i know there's a light at the end of the tunnel, even if it is a bit distant right now. he came round around 6.00 pm, broke up with me and left. i went to bed at 7.30 pm and sort of slept on and off until the morning, but was on the internet at around the time on your stats. the next most haunted is in prague by the way, but i definitely won't be watching! :(
from tobehis :
{2/14/10} Just thought I'd let you know I dropped in and read your entry todday; enjoyed it, even though I had no clue what you were talking about most of the time, since I'm not a big sports fan. :-P Enjoy the rest of your day.
from shoelover192 :
Hey! I know I totally disappeared. But I just popped in to check that you're still getting by and stuff :) Hope you're well. Gem
from strawberrri :
Hi John, you probably don't care anymore but my Stu was on on the Tuesday of MHL, being interviewed by Julian about the interactive stuff :)
from strawberrri :
dammit, i wish my laptop was working so i could watch it! that link's blocked at work too sadly. i think the stuart you're referring to is a different person to my one though (this is the one who's on camera a lot http://www.livingtv.co.uk/images/stuart_torevell_v2-100x100.jpg but he's not my bf :)
from strawberrri :
ahh, i can't really answer any questions about the show as i don't watch it! it's shown on a channel called "living" here, which i don't have. my boyfriend might be making a presenting appearance :) but they haven't decided whether to use him yet - he's the interactive producer so does all the live webcam malarky. hope you're enjoying it anyway!
from skinnylizzie :
That's why I prefer footballers - much more sock to go around. I really need to stop leaving you notes about socks now.
from skinnylizzie :
There is no easy way to say this...I'm not convinced he's putting his sock in exactly the right place, on further inspection. The lycra is doing odd things to certain parts of him. Not that I looked too closely, I was merely observing of course. Must go away and think about anything other than socks and men in lyrca...
from skinnylizzie :
Without wishing to lower the tone (ahem), there is some serious sock stuffage going on there! Not that I looked or anything, obviously. And from what I remember reading the book, I always thought that happened on her eighteenth birthday? Either that or I'm just making things up again.
from yellow-ninja :
I was just about to update about helicopter mom! She's been joined by some other kid's dad! Last night, he was laying on the love seat, she was on the couch with her feet on the coffee table and they were watching "Two and a Half Men" on I swear the highest volume possible on our TV. They find that show hilarious.
from strawberrri :
(belatedly)
from strawberrri :
really hope things turn around soon john. just wanted to wish you a happy thanksgiving x
from skinnylizzie :
Boo, Lucie's the biggest pile of blah going! If I read or hear one more thing about her in the media I'm afraid I'm going to have to go and karate chop her, she irritates me something rotten. She was a good singer but not the best there, I would much rather listen to Stacey sing than her. Not that I think you care, but I had to vent somewhere! Deep breath...I love Olly, in the words of Robbie Williams, I want Olly Murs to be my mate.
from strawberrri :
ooh, my boyfriend worked on the ghost show in italy! not sure if he did any presenting on that one though. i've given up on x factor. i just don't like it anymore - it's stale, like big brother. it doesn't help that i really dislike dannii minogue and her stupid botoxed face. cheryl is a visual delight but that's the limit of her talents. and i feel that louis' and simon's comments are no longer genuine but purely to evoke a response. bring back pop idol!
from skinnylizzie :
God bless that wonderful search engine, eh? And sadly no, Sir David of Beckhamshire was sitting down in the exhibition so no bottom action could ensue. Damn it.
from strawberrri :
hehe. it kind of makes sense, because wales is traditionally sheep-riddled. it's just not a sentence i thought my brain could ever conjure! i texted rubbish to the new love interest too regrettably, yet he still wants to meet me tomorrow. i am a very lucky girl :)
from strawberrri :
thanks john! i would love to but my london bike has fallen apart :( i'm back in stevenage on friday for 5 days and will make the most of the last of the reasonable cycling weather...if it'll let me!
from strawberrri :
but i could end up breaking twitter with all the frequent updating! hehe. i've not taken any souvenirs for ages. i'm as disappointed as you are :( when christmas comes a bit closer i'll get back into the swing of it.
from yellow-ninja :
That's hilarious! I would be up for either, probably. Anything to give guys a fighting chance. ;)
from strawberrri :
he's definitely hotter than house. i am a lucky girl!
from yellow-ninja :
I hope you manage to stay pain free!
from strawberrri :
*hugs* :(
from blujeans-uk :
You have my sympathy. I had a tooth infection during my first run of nights so I was tired, grumpy, in pain and slightly groggy from the meds. Hope you get some relief soon x
from skinnylizzie :
Sour cream and onion is the way forward my friend, although I have probably just set myself up for a glorious night of indigestion after foolishly mixing the Pringles with a cup of tea, why do I never learn? Cheese and onion and the BBQ flavour are also rather yummy, why oh why is it that they must be bad for you? Ah, the uni days...I do miss the times when I actually (sorry) had something to say about my life other than 'I got up. I went to work. I came home and ate the entire contents of my fridge. I fell asleep', which is pretty much all my life has amounted to so far, hurrah! That's why I don't write much anymore, not because I'm abandoning but because I just have nothing to say, it's such a struggle to make the words flow. Wow, with talk like this you'd think I'd been on the alcohol!
from skinnylizzie :
Millions of Google hits, that's a little optimistic! I think there's only a handful of people who still read my self-indulgent twaddle and that's fine by me! Anyway, thank you for the note, I am not entirely sure it was swine flu but everybody else who is suffering from a cold seems to be being told it's swine flu (why do I always add an e on the end of that, why?) and they have to stay at home for seven days...oops, my bad. Never mind, I don't appear to have infected too many people so far...I forgot to say, I was watching the TV at Gav's one night a few weeks ago and they had your mate L to the arse (I MEAN...ance) on the sports bulletin, it always makes me think of you when I see cyclists now. And second beer? Pah, I'm on my second tube of Pringles on a Friday night in alone, I am most definitely the hardcore one here!
from blujeans-uk :
Thank you so much for that link! It's had me smiling all day :-)
from strawberrri :
it was actually just a swing! there were loads of them dotted around the woods. what's in the washing machine definitely sounds fun, though in my experience it tends to be the wiring of a bra having escaped. must buy new undies.
from skinnylizzie :
I am so amazingly rubbish at replying to notes now, I can only apologise. It's just that I read them as soon as I get the email notification, feel warm fuzzy feelings, but then inevitably have to rush off to work and try and remember to reply later, which I clearly never do. Anyway, I currently own one fish called Harry Puffer (in honour of Harry Potter, except he's a puffer fish...I am so witty), but the next fish I force Gav to buy will be called Clive and I shall have to send you a picture of him in case English fish look different in fish bowls (or 700l fish tanks) to American fish. And the Box of Wonder may still happen, don't rule it out yet my friend! I just have to get it to start teleporting to save on flight prices and then we're away!
from strawberrri :
poor ron! i won't be buying any icecreams off him for a while then :( happy 4th july for today and it looks like i missed your birthday - sorry about that. happy belated birthday!
from skinnylizzie :
Boo, I'm eight hours late so shame on me, but happy birthday for yesterday! One day I might adopt your mature approach to birthdays, it's something I've been striving for for a while now which says something about my maturity levels...
from dana-elayne :
I'm SO cheering you on during "Kick Butt July"! :)
from yellow-ninja :
Those Tidy Tents are sweet! The backyard behind our townhouse is probably only about 5'X12', though, not including the deck. Which is unfortunate, because my bike fits nicely on the deck, but apparently offends my roommate. If we had room, I would so save up for a Tidy Tent! I'm bookmarking that for future reference. Thanks!
from blujeans-uk :
C'mon John! I'm cheering you on with each step x
from buffylass :
I watched that doubles match! Thought it was ace, especially the neverending third set. Jade was pretty hot - I think Kirilenko's hot too (currently playing Wozniacki) on Centre.
from misfitstray :
You really did good, John. Keep on!
from buffylass :
That's really shit, John, I'm really sorry.
from yellow-ninja :
The glasses do help with the bugs, the allergens, however, are much more persistent. I made it to the last mile of the ride before not being able to see due to the tears, so maybe I'm building up a tolerance! Thanks for the advice!
from misfitstray :
Have a nice weekend too!
from strawberrri :
by 'on and off' i don't mean 'stalked him relentlessly' - i think i've sent 2...possibly 3!
from strawberrri :
i don't find andrew particularly helpful - i've emailed him on and off over the past few years about signmyguestbook and he has never replied :(
from strawberrri :
hi john, i'm feeling tons better thanks. i'm thinking maybe the weather got to me as it was really hot a few days ago but it's cooled down considerably now. are you going to watch uk big brother this year? i groaned when i heard it was returning to our screens yet i find myself tuned into the first 'meet the housemates' programme of the series...
from strawberrri :
brilliant! if diaryland had such a facility enabled, i would click the 'i like this' button. i'm off to bed soon. i think i was born at 3.00 am so i technically have at least two hours of being 24 left!
from strawberrri :
john, thanks so much. i will certainly be going for a bike ride in the afternoon (my mum is going to show me a new route as she has the afternoon off too). i went through ron weasley's village again today and as i was approaching the next village from his (datchworth) an ICE CREAM VAN went past me. i couldn't see the driver, but it could have been him!
from misfitstray :
it's Champions League final. Manchester United against FC Barcelona or so 'shrug'.
from misfitstray :
Thank you John! Well, I guess my problem is that I mostly don't know persons by name. At least it is like that here in Germany. If I don't know the correct name they are signed on with I don't find them. (I tried to find you, but wasn't successful) I can't search for themes or special words on twitter. I know I can do that on Google, but never tried it that way. John, you should become a Journlist! You really are good in researching in writing!
from misfitstray :
Triathlon, hm. How do you find all those interesting twits? I don't get it 'sigh' Maybe I'm too dumb to search on twitter. Maybe you could give me some advice, please?
from shoelover192 :
Ha :) I love your silver lining approach to the flooding, amazing :)
from misfitstray :
I suppose you must be a very attractive man, if those "dreamgirls" are/were kind of friends to you. Normally such princesses don't speak to "normalos" ;) . Go, get healthier food!
from shoelover192 :
Sex appeal? Confidence? Come to bed eyes? Reveal answer soon plz. It's good to be back :) x
from misfitstray :
I give up. All I can see is boobs ;) and pretty pretty girls
from misfitstray :
hm, I can't see anything else. They both look like they have brown eyes but you can't see it exactly. Maybe that? It's not so common to have blonde hair and brown eyes, normally blondes have blue-ish eyes or?
from misfitstray :
long blonde hair, nice boobs and a very attractive body, what else? ;)
from theswordsman :
test 2
from theswordsman :
email test
from skinnylizzie :
I liked the saxophone guy from the second episode, he was my favourite from last week. My tippy toppy favourites are still the dance group Flawless though; you can keep Susan Boyle because she's going to get a recording contract whatever now. Flawless have got my vote so far...
from strawberrri :
i'll keep stopping by. you're my inspiration for one day finding the ron weasley ice cream van, you know. i hope you have some enjoyment from the weekend.
from skinnylizzie :
Well, I'm going to keep stopping by if that's quite alright with you. Hang in there, I've done my infamous fingers and toes crossing which obviously means something good is heading your way (although let's hope it's better than my definition of good which currently consists of a Zac Efron-decorated Easter egg). Also, excellent link, although having seen the ugly coin in person I still think she had to be a total munter, just to piss all of the scholars off.
from shoelover192 :
*jumps up and down* UN and P please! I'm missing out, everyone is locked up :)
from misfitstray :
Happy Easter to you John! Body produces more red blood cells when you are in higher regions (maybe from 2000m on) so blood can transport more oxygen. (That's what EPO makes too)
from strawberrri :
guess what john, on my bike ride this morning as i went through ron weasley's village an ice cream van went past me, tinkling its music! i think the driver had short hair though so i don't think it was him. happy easter to you.
from strawberrri :
keira knightley won't do a 4th POTC, though that's not to say they won't make it without her. i loved the first one, found the second tolerable and the third painful.
from buffylass :
Is that a real song?!
from buffylass :
Very late in replying, but ISA stands for Individual Savings Account, and is basically a savings account that has no income tax on it. I like to think that it's a marker of me being a grown-up. As for the song, well, Dem Bones has been suggested at work also, but I'm thinking not. Maybe a Girls Aloud song instead, kind of as an ode to Cheryl Cole?
from misfitstray :
she's gorgeous
from skinnylizzie :
Just wanted to say a big thank you for your note, and also for remembering! My own grandparents thought it was tomorrow (like they haven't already had 23 years of practice by now...) so it's nice to have some people in my life that do remember :D
from blujeans-uk :
You know, it's probably because you've gained some muscle as you've lost fat, so although the numbers haven't gone down much, it's the proportions that have changed. So don't get too hung up on the values - if you know your clothes are getting looser and you can see changes then you know it's working. Keep at it - every long journey starts with a small step. K x (and yes, that is my initial and I decided to not go by Dland nickname initial)
from skinnylizzie :
Well I'm still reading, even if I am the world's worst at leaving anybody notes at the moment...
from misfitstray :
strange, but I dreamed of you last night...
from misfitstray :
Wish you luck with the lady!
from strawberrri :
haha, well i did actually say to jenn how it looked like a snow phallus while we were building it. completely unintentional, i swear!
from strawberrri :
that's my scarf he's wearing! while we were building him he looked more like a snow totem pole. i reckon he turned out ok though, but yes, far too skinny so is probably standing there shivering due to lack of body fat. unless someone has demolished him.
from theswordsman :
Thanks for sharing. Great pics. I especially liked the ones where the trees arched from both sides. I hate to bring this up, but I couldn't help noticing that...um...first of all, that the larger snowperson was a bit less robust than some, and then...er...with the scarf on, it looked distinctly...male?
from strawberrri :
thanks for the heads up! i don't think it would be easy for me to get there though as transport is terrible i hear. plus i've spent a good few hours playing in the snow with jenn in beautiful wandsworth common. we've had about 9 inches - don't think i've ever seen snowfall like it! pics going up v. soon, or here's a link to my FB pics for the full set :) http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=63927&id=507602635
from strawberrri :
thanks john. we move in one week today and can't wait! it would be good if the 2p fall operators would put decent things in them. i also won a pig keyring which was so cheap and nasty that i actually left it in the tray were the money falls out. 2p falls are great though.
from englishsucks :
ur cat scared the shit outta me! o.O
from strawberrri :
looks like you're popular the world over. congrats!
from strawberrri :
as long as i break the barrier, running feels amazing and i can understand why people enjoy exercise, whereas i always used to think it was in a smug "i've done exercise and you haven't, ha ha" kind of way. but i now fully understand why it's recommended for things like depression! and as for my landlady and some of the unsavoury types you've had to encounter, well, we're better than them and there are so many other fantastic people in the world anyway.
from strawberrri :
thanks so much. i will also have to see if any of the barristers i work with have done tenants' rights and whatnot alongside specialising in murder ;) i'm sure everything will work out ok one way or another (even if it does mean moving out), but i hate not knowing. i'm going back to bed for a bit, but thanks again for letting me chew your ear.
from strawberrri :
what is the problem with some landladies and lords?! i really don't know what we're going to do other than see what happens, but she wants to come round for 'an hour long chat' with me and jenn today :( she wants to bill us for stuff broken in the house (the living room blind, the freezer door handle...they were broken when we both moved in). anyway, i am going to go to the gym today (i did loads of exercise over christmas too, freezing my toes off on bike rides nearly every day) and i'm looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, as sad as it sounds!
from strawberrri :
hi john, thank you for your lovely note. it's 5.43 am and i'm up and awake as i'm so worried. we were meant to be having our new guy moving in today...we'd organised everything between ben (guy moving out) and rob (guy moving in) but elly (landlady) has taken matters into her own hands, ringing up rob and telling him he can't move in as for some infathomable reason she wants ben to replace a perfectly fine mattress from his bedroom as well as other stuff. rob's coming from up north, has a new job starting in london on monday and now has to live in a hotel for the next week...i am now massively worried that he's going to say 'fuck it' to this house and find somewhere else to live - and i wouldn't blame him - as he's been so messed around. elly's also made me move any belongings (shoes etc) out of communal cupboards so she can have 'an inspection'. it should be no right of hers where i keep my possessions in the house. she needs to be put in an asylum. sorry for such a long note, though i feel better for having got it off my chest :)
from shot-of-tea :
A belated Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to you :)
from misfitstray :
Have a wonderful new year filled with peace, love and luck!
from skinnylizzie :
Oh my days, have you changed your password again? I tried a couple of the old ones and I remain stuck on the outside and now totally stumped!
from skinnylizzie :
Diana should find somebody new to brush her hair as well (or even somebody to brush her hair to start with). I liked her until she got laryngitis, and then she just kind of irked me a little. And feel free to take over and get married and move to the other side of the world instead of me if you want, it would save me having to make a decision! (PS: Thank you for your note, I might be being rather flippant this morning but just know that I appreciated it)
from strawberrri :
i have been rubbing vaseline intensive moisturiser into my hands and wearing thicker gloves so hopefully they'll mend soon! oh man, a policeman's helmet souvenir would be the best thing ever. i now feel it's my personal challenge to take *something* from the party next week :) happy thanksgiving for tomorrow!
from misfitstray :
Have a very nice Thanksgiving, John!
from strawberrri :
that would be brilliant! my company covers the high court (aka the royal courts of justice, just down the road from the old bailey) so i'll have to see if i know who's doing it! one of my workmates has just spent the weekend steno-ing in saudi arabia. i wasn't offered the chance to go as they wouldn't accept a female stenographer.
from strawberrri :
all of them! i am best at bass because it's easiest so i do that the most, but also normal guitar, drums and (after a few drinks) microphone!
from strawberrri :
glad you got your computer fixed. i wouldn't know what to do if mine got sick. all our computers at the old bailey got infected with a trojan horse last week, so none of us could upload our digital audio files from court. luckily we had a techie guy come to fix them all (took him a good while too - must be quite a voracious virus). hope you have a good weekend too! i'm going home to stevenage to play rock band tomorrow :)
from blujeans-uk :
Your tiger made me miss my doggy :-(
from blujeans-uk :
Amazing! Real-looking, small boobs and she's smiling, not trying to look like a slut! Great pic :-)
from misfitstray :
wow! That's real beauty!
from misfitstray :
I know what you mean, when you think of things you have to do and the next hour it's gone. I think these are the hideout-dwarfs. They hide the thoughts, but sometimes they give them back :-) They do that not only with thoughts but also with things!
from strawberrri :
neither! i don't even know where they're filming the holmes film actually! i went to a shopping centre that had a poundland though, so got loads of brilliant and cheap decorations for the halloween party. but i am never buying poundland halloween 'body part' sweets again. disgusting.
from strawberrri :
stupid guy in the car for attempting to ruin your good day! things like that would bother and upset me too but glad you bounced back. do you have a freezer? i always freeze my bread as otherwise i never get round to eating it all before it goes off. or if there's lots on sale i stock up. it lasts ages!
from misfitstray :
Thank you :-)
from blujeans-uk :
It's all about the home cookin! My recipe is this: Make pastry (half butter to flour and do NOT add too much water like I accidentally did this time) while significant other chops about 300g pumpkin and boils it for 10 mins. Line pie dish with pastry and put it in to blind bake for ten mins. Meanwhile, whizz up pumpkin with light brown soft sugar, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Whisk 2 eggs with cream, whisk in pumpkin goo, pour into part baked pastry and cook at 180C for 30 mins. Yummy!
from blujeans-uk :
I made the pie for halloween for a friend cos he asked me for it (and I'm nice like that) but there's still most of the pumpkin left over so I will probably make another one today. I don't know if it's the same as the one you're used to in the states as I got the recipe out of an english magazine, but it's still pretty tasty :-)
from strawberrri :
i think cock galore is worse than the lovely white hen with mayo, but only just! my stepdad replaced the wheel on my bike :) however it's still a sickly bike. it only ever had three gears to start with and now only two of them work...and sometimes it gets stuck on the gear which doesn't work and i end up pedalling into thin air (or that's what it feels like - there's no resistance). i might ask for a cheap bike for christmas, maybe from the local bike shoppe.
from misfitstray :
Wow, notes work again. I'm glad that your are back here! I still love reading your words.
from blujeans-uk :
I know I'm a bit behind, but so far: 1. Hellboy. 2. Spidey. 3. Too much choice! Plus it's so hard to rate on physique alone as ther are so so many things that go into making a guy attractive... The martial arts girl has nice boobies. I'd probably still say spidey or the wahlberg guy. There has to be a bit of softness: men who are too buff risk looking narcissistic and the really wiry ones are too stringy.
from christay :
for me it's a tossup between brad pitt and orlando bloom. I am biased toward Brad Pitt though...I have been in love with since I was like 10 haha.
from strawberrri :
matt damon!
from shoelover192 :
Well it has to be a toss up between the first of Brad (not including the face remember) and Mark Wahlberg. Reasoning: Brad Pitt's stomach in that first picture is just...ooft. And he looks really fit without being bulky. But there's something about Mark's body that grabs me, but that may just be because he has amazing arms, and I'm a sucker for amazing arms.
from buffylass :
The first one of Brad is just divine, but then I have a big ol' crush for him back in his hay day to start with.
from shoelover192 :
*drools* aah, what a tough choice. Gotta be the biker guy though.
from skinnylizzie :
Spiderman, although I do prefer men to be ever so slightly better built than Tobey Maguire. Hell, don't get me started on men or the burning loins will be out in full force all over again...
from strawberrri :
oh yeah, there's some leeway. i am not too fussed on body type (as in how muscly a guy is), just not that keen on skinny men! sorry, i'm not very helpful :) sadly we now have no more bank holidays until christmas so it's back to work tomorrow. so i've just been doing housework and other various chores today. dull yet satisfying. going for a bike ride later though so will be good to get some fresh air. hope you're having a good weekend.
from strawberrri :
hmm, i had to think for a bit. i'm sticking with spidey as his body seems more natural. they both look good though, and i like big legs on men.
from buffylass :
Well, as I appear to have fallen spectacularly off of the wagon it will probably become a more regular occurrence!
from christay :
spiderman for sure! I personally am not into big giant buff guys. Or things from hell....
from strawberrri :
i pick spidey!
from blujeans-uk :
OK. I was on the wrong diary. la la laa...
from strawberrri :
i stole a shell from the beach! i stole a lot of sand too - rolling down that dune made me absolutely covered in it. i brought two massive pocketfuls home. if i had seen the princess bride i'm sure i would have shouted that quote :D
from skinnylizzie :
Ah, that's not Fittie, that's some random hobo I picked up in the street. Or not. Thank you for your note, I can totally understand why old ladies don't want to leave their cats and knitting patterns for the outdoors to be honest. A couple of children cycled past me earlier today and I nearly leapt in a bush to avoid them, so how must poor defenceless pensioners feel? Shoddy world we live in.
from buffylass :
Ha, that note made me laugh. There may possibly be a time when Shakespearian sock puppets seem like an excellent idea, and if it does, well, I shall film it and you can be the first to watch it. Think maybe one of the newbies could be my minion - the other is at least thirty, and I'm not sure if there are age restraints on miniondom. Any ideas?
from princessreva :
That beer-replacement thing was super smooth:)
from buffylass :
Oh wait, 299 times! What is happening in the world?!
from buffylass :
Now, the worrying thing about my When Will I See You Again video (which I only remembered about when I shoved the new video up there) is that it's been watched about 250 times or something. That is worrying. As for sock puppets... you're not really going to hold me to that, are you?
from strawberrri :
yeah, when we were at the belgian music festival we saw MGMT and later back at camp were singing the songs and stuff. someone started singing the song kids (my favourite) and blended it with love will tear us apart. so that's where the name came from.
from strawberrri :
i decided to cut the second film as all i seem to do is laugh and act stupid! but there's more on my youtube page (my user is kidswilltearusapart). yeah, i felt very calm and peaceful. i think there's a lot of leylines (i've prob spelt that wrong) around there. the tor is great and i really, really love cheddar :)
from blujeans-uk :
It comes from the funeral directors, but I'm not sure if it's from the money they're paid by the family. We get paid for declaring the cause of death (ie no funny business that might need the coroner's input, in which case the body would be buried, not cremated) and for declaring there is no pacemaker, as they can explode in the incinerator.
from blujeans-uk :
And it has to be one of the PinkNurses.
from blujeans-uk :
It's the whole fries/chips/crisps and scone/biscuit/cookie thing. Everyone knows the only way to eat a scone (biscuit? pah!) is with cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam. With a cup of tea. It's probably just as artery-hardening as the deepfried tower though.
from shoelover192 :
It's a scone John :P And...I think you like the cowgirl. Or the waitress? Maybe that's just my own taste, post answers soon!
from buffylass :
Hmm, your biscuits look suspiciously like scones to me!
from skinnylizzie :
They use these kind of white bun things that they refer to as muffins (although they quite clearly aren't muffins, but don't get me started on that particular rant as well)...just flat, fluffy bread rolls, I guess. I have indeed been watching the equestrian events, mostly the highlights online as they all seem to be on when I'm asleep or working, and I was very, very chuffed with the double bronze in eventing. I can indeed do some of the things that make the horse look like it's dancing but we don't do it to music and I wish I could pretend I had even a tenth of the talent that those riders do...
from skinnylizzie :
But...but...that looks like a scone to me!
from shoelover192 :
I'm so glad you redeemed yourself by saying you like to use a Cross :) :p
from strawberrri :
"chicken biscuit." not two words i want to hear together, let alone eat! what is one? and was it tasty?
from blujeans-uk :
Dude. They're not that hot. I like the bumblebee outfits though, and the one on the right has a better curve/skirt cut.
from strawberrri :
i don't know what you look for in a girl but i'm going with the one on the left because she's smiley and therefore instantly loads prettier. and not wearing an un-bumblebee-ish white cap. j-lo, what a fool. michael phelps is being celebrated the world over, something she never will be.
from blujeans-uk :
I missed the fencing. I don't have a chance to see it at the hospital. Mario has caught a few matches though. His fellow country-woman Yesika Jimenez was competeing in Women's Epee and got through her first round but lost out in the second. She's now ranked 25th in the world! I fenced her one time. She beat me.
from blujeans-uk :
Ah, SwordDude, you spoke too soon :-( Our internet went kaputt for a bit plus I was on call so was getting home very late. Seems to be working again now so I shall endeavour to pick up the daily blogging again. It is quite cathartic to sit down and think about the day. Salutations!
from strawberrri :
jif peanut butter...seriously! jif is a sink/bathroom cleaner here! well it was until they renamed it cif so the other europeans could pronounce it. hope you're having a good saturday :D
from strawberrri :
my colleague brought us back the dark chocolate mini bars...divine. i used to be quite addicted to galaxy caramel bars (six segments of heavenly goodness) but i'm not such a chocolate fiend these days. i prefer savoury edibles. i think my last trial was only really big in the uk (it's cause the murder victim was jill dando, a hugely liked and famous tv presenter here). anyway, i will ask ron weasley to get in some chocolate break drink for you :)
from strawberrri :
one of my workmates (who hails from washington) brought us back some dove bars after her recent trip back to the states. very strange though as we have a big soap brand called dove here so we were slightly wary of eating them! however it turns out your dove is our galaxy chocolate. delicious (though not as good as cadbury's).
from skinnylizzie :
That's why I love watching the equestrian sports (you know, besides the obvious reason...). I know they can drug horses but the tests they undergo are even more stringent than most human tests and when it comes down to it, no artificial drug is going to help you compete any better at something that requires years of dedication, innate talent, quick-thinking and balls of steel. Not to mention the fact that you've got hundreds of pounds worth of animal with a mind of its own to convince to do its best for you. Have I shut up yet? I definitely am now.
from strawberrri :
i really enjoyed reading your thoughts :)
from yellow-ninja :
Thanks. I'm pretty nervous about the whole "I might lose my job thing", but hopefully it works out. Sorry about your bummer of a holiday, some people are so inconsiderate. I saw a jackass parking his convertible diagonally across two parking stalls yesterday, I guess he wasn't blocking anyone in, but still! Rude.
from strawberrri :
did you leave that note before i posted?! i still always look for ron weasely everytime i cycle through his village. or if i hear or see an ice cream van in one of the surrounding villages i always look to see if it's him driving! not been lucky yet, but maybe one day :)
from skinnylizzie :
I was actually eating cereal so THANK YOU, Special K just nearly came out my nose.
from dana-elayne :
That is the perfect analogy! (take it from an English teacher =), I know.) I loved the image of the puzzle and the pieces. I hope that everything works out wonderfully well for you.
from skinnylizzie :
I KNEW my crossed fingers would work. And no, I haven't seen it...I don't think even he's hot enough to make me want to watch a film about a milkman turned boxer or whatever it is.
from blujeans-uk :
Big yay for the money though!
from blujeans-uk :
:-( You always delete before I've had chance to read the back-entries
from dana-elayne :
Yeah! Money! That is fantastic!
from strawberrri :
that's fantastic about the unemployment money! yay. (also, thanks for your kind note...feeling loads better now.)
from shoelover192 :
YAY RED DOOR! And WOOHOO for employment money! It's all that good feng shui, and my prayers :) Oh, and I have the sky (through my window) in that area of my room, so I guess that counts? Take Care.
from skinnylizzie :
I shall keep my fingers crossed for you. And whilst I'm not walking I'll keep my toes crossed too, just for some extra luck.
from blujeans-uk :
I don't think it's on the west coast though.
from blujeans-uk :
There's a fencing tournament in Ireland in June: the Carrick Castle tournament. (http://www.stormontfencingclub.com/) They hold it in this big old castle and people fence all over the battlements and ramparts and everything. It would be cool to incorporate that into your tour!
from yellow-ninja :
Willow is a great fricking movie. Watching it always makes me happy.
from shoelover192 :
I just want to say a BIG well done on your cardio hours and weight loss so far, you are doing really well :) And I'm so glad things are looking up for you, lets keep it going :)
from shoelover192 :
Glad your Sunday is going so well, i know you'll enjoy that cake at the right time! ps you forgot to mention a trip to Glasgow with your lottery win =[
from skinnylizzie :
Okay, I know I'm a little late here (I didn't elope to Italy incidentally, just the other side of the country. Italy would've been MUCH nicer though) but I'm here to say happy birthday and I hope the world was good to you and brought you at least the promise of a mega lottery win and hot women in bikinis :)
from shoelover192 :
Happy belated birthday also! Yay for all the treat food, you deserve it :)
from yellow-ninja :
Happy belated birthday!
from shot-of-tea :
Happy birthday/belated birthday :)
from princessreva :
What, did I read this skewy, or did you hide that birthday thing at the bottom?? Regardless, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! At least you still have a fabo sense of humor - this entry had me cracking up:)
from buffylass :
Thanks :) your note came through just as I was writing an entry. Ooh, and a massive well done on your grades.
from dana-elayne :
You should be very proud of that 3.7 :)
from skinnylizzie :
Oh, that article was fascinating, thank you! The Odyssey is one of my most favourite things ever written (or performed, if we're going to split hairs) mainly because Odysseus is just bleedin' FAB. And with regards to your other note (I'm a bum, I know, I take ages to reply to things at the moment), I live in fear of becoming a Youtube star...
from shoelover192 :
What a lovely entry it looks beautiful :)
from strawberrri :
thanks! my brother (who's coming along) is bringing me a camera memory card as an extremely belated birthday present, so i should be able to take lots of photos. can't wait now.
from christay :
im glad you're alright!! What a piece of crap that person is for doing that to you. You don't deserve that =/
from princessreva :
Holy snap, how crummy!! I can't believe someone would be so nasty to someone who is so obviously not. I'm still here though! The note about sitemeter was frightening... would you usggest another less-sneaky program for me to use?
from strawberrri :
done. he was right though, i suppose i am free to grab any horns of any bull, providing i don't end up getting gored from grabbing too many at once or something like that :)
from strawberrri :
thanks :) and even if nothing significant comes of it at least i know i can do this and go out and meet people and whatnot, it just takes a tiny bit of bravery. hurrah!
from strawberrri :
i promise i'll update this evening :) :) :) (the smilies are a clue as to how things are going!)
from strawberrri :
hmm, thinking about it, those pics don't really do her justice (she's uber cool as well so that adds to her attractiveness). but i suppose it's not completely beyond the realms of possibility i'm the person he hopes i am! you have a good weekend too :)
from strawberrri :
there's photos of her in this entry! http://strawberrri.diaryland.com/080421_42.html unfortunately you can only see my *limited* profile for a month and i don't know how to change it! but i know if he clicks on my profile picture he can see several of my previous profile pictures to work out who i am (he probably didn't know you can do this as he sounds a bit of a facebook n00b).
