do you exist anymore? drop me a note at http://thesenotes.diaryland.com. i am applying to ardvark and would love some advice.
from hexa-chan :
First off, I have to say your diary is very interesting. A nice change from the norm in that you actually *look* at social issues. I just wanted to point something out to you; in your New Terrorism of the Sky post you complained about the NYT not knowing what news was? Well I gotta say, they do. They know what their readers want to read and so they supply it. If their readers want to support President *Insert Brain Here* Bush then the articles they print will take that slant. It's nothing to do with the quality of writing, it's a business. Never mistake any kind of media for a public service, that doesn't exist. They write what sells. Keep up the good work in your diary though. ~Hexa

Thank you for replying. It was a hard thing to do for me. I never have to ask men out, they normally ask me. Also this would've been the first date I would've had in 7 years. That's a long time. Later on when talking to him I found out he has a girlfriend back in Baltimore. They are really rocky right now but I'm there for him to talk to when things are hard for him. He really is a nice guy. He already did something nice for me. When my ex-husband's girlfriend cut my son's hair, it's was the worst job in the world. He had patches of hair that was missing. I cried. He saw the hair cut and said he'd buzz it for me. He did it for me and that worked out great. Also Saturday night he asked me if I could shave his neck. I did. So, it's cool. At least we are talking. Thanks again :)

from charminggirl :
Don't worry I bet she's one of those really uptight women that rarely ever gets please sexually by her bf. You know the plain only vanilla missionary style. Anyway, if she's going to bitch at the sight of seeing you puff on your cancer stick, she has a lot more bitching to do out in the real world. Damn, she sounds so anal. People like that drive me up the wall. You know what I would have done, took a long puff look right at her and blow it out then give her a smile and a wink. She would've stomped her foot or rolled her eyes, either way I'd have the last laugh. :)
from charminggirl :
I get very emotional when listen to a a cure song. Already the song Faith is emotional enough but when Robert Smith sung a version of it in 1989 in Rome about the Massacre in China, June 4, 1989, that put a new meaning to it. The song is called Faith (Teinanmen). If you should ever come across it listen to it. It's a very intense song. Everytime I listen to it I get shivers from it. I haven't heard Robert say FUCK so many times and SCCCCRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAAAAAMMMMM like that. oh and good luck!!!!!
from charminggirl :
Damn, I'm locked out again...
from charminggirl :
:O locked! what what what! was it the way i wanted to tie you up and have my way with you? :( Missing you... *pouts*
from shesajar :
no more entry?
from tigerknight :
Oda--unless I miss my guess, let's just say that I didn't try to stick it out in Arabic--too many folks in that class had too much of a head start.
from odalisk :
crossed paths? I'm curious...where?
from rumblelizard :
Hey, thanks for the advice! COuld you do me one further and send me a checklist of what I should get specifically, knowing the parameters I set out in my diary? If you're not too busy, that is. If you're not too busy to indulge my ignorance (ha!) please email the list to: rumblelizard AT hotmail DOT com. Also, my dad is a political science/philosopy teacher, I bet you'd like him a great deal. Most really smart people do. :)
from tigerknight :
Hmmm, as tempting as entertaining the fantasy might be, I suspect losing one's hair the way she would apply would prove both balding and fatal. My New Year party was more alienating than naughty--perhaps fun awaits next week...Thx for the messages, Mme. Charming!
from charminggirl :
At least it would be great make up sex... you know the type--aggressive, lustful, emotional fucking (can't quite say sex-- much more than that) ;) grrrr still I want to tie you down and have my way with you, you can't control my thoughts :) mmmm I'm doing it right now as we speak... first your left arm, hey you have strong arms. I shall put them to use. Happy New Year hun. Be safe and not too naughty ;)
from tigerknight :
careful...there's a lass who'd tear hair out or worse if she heard someone was thinking about that. And it'd be my hair... ;-)
from charminggirl :
Sometimes I just want to tie you down and have my way with you.... grrrr
from violetwoman :
I thoroughly enjoyed your entry on writing your exams. (at last, an entry I can UNDERSTAND!) I like trying to comprehend your political entries and such, but it's an extra bonus when you sprinkle in a wee bit about your personal life. Makes you more human, as it were. But back to those exams....all I can say is, "Wow. I'm glad I didn't decide to be a lawyer. Hahahaha." As if I could have! Good luck and please let us know how you did?
from thisisme14 :
I blocked my diary and since I am under your favorites list I am letting you know. If you want the password e-mail me at [email protected]
from tigerknight :
Pretty good flick--feel I've been watching a few classics this week. Can't quite claim that they relate closely to my classes though...
from charminggirl :
I haven't seen that movie in years. Yikes! I forgot all about it. I watched it back in 1996, when I worked at Crazy Mike's Video.
from ilonina :
It's fabulous to be following this Tiger-Geek debate! A question, whose answer I don't know: could it be the case that, prior to (say) the 19th century, reason was not seen as a significant criterion for making judgements? Were other values such as loyalty or piety not seen as more important, and taking action based on reason alone suspect on the grounds that man should not usurp the faculty of judgement that belongs to God alone? The very notion that one must argue a case logically and factually is surely relatively new in intellectual history. Divine inspiration and kingly decree were at least as meaningful in mediaeval Europe, at least, surel?
from charminggirl :
Hehe. Oh, your a big sweetie. It's wonderful. I read your 100 things about you and laughed. It was nice. Busy boy!
from charminggirl :
Hehe! Good for you!
from charminggirl :
Hmm, sugar wax. That's a lot like a soft wax. You should only get one if you wax all the time and never shave. When you shave your hair grows back in thick. Then you'll need a hard wax. Believe me ouchies at first.
from charminggirl :
Ahh, I've noticed that you are a busy bee. Yeah, I do enjoy getting a wax, it keeps me feeling sex and men/females love it. I figure be kind to your lover. I know I don't want to get a mouth full of hair, do you?
from tigerknight :
I prefer the name Aardvaark for this particular institution. ;-) No sense in making things easy for prying eyes of colleagues to come across. And I enjoyed reading the entries--though Brazilian waxes are something that came from the Middle East, where various different approaches have been done for many centuries (frequently with sugar and lemon, or so a Tunisian colleague told me...I won't speculate on what that feels like, however).
from charminggirl :
thanks for adding me hun. I was sort of shocked that someone was reading my 'diary' at harvard. ;)
from charminggirl :
I was reading some of your entries and came across the quizzes you took. You did take the e Dante's Inferno Test, I took that one a while ago too. I can't believer that you are in Purgatory! I was sent to Level 8 - The Malebolge. Still I haven't met anyone that is Level 9 or anything past Level 5. WHAAAAAA! What's wrong with me, am I that EVIL!?
from shesajar :
it is good to know that you are ok. sometimes i am still hung up on reservations about even dropping you a note, thinking you'd rather me not. so, i am relieved when i know that you are still somewhere. you sound different though. but whatever it is, i hope you are healthy and happy still.
from violetwoman :
Hey, I'm glad you've returned! Heh, now I've got my intellectual reading back, thank you. I don't know if you actually read my diary or not, but if you do...I've locked it due to privacy issues. Email me at [email protected] if you would like the key. Welcome back!
from ilonina :
Dear! You are back! I can quite truthfully say that I missed your wise, biting and lyrical entries every week that you were away from our midst. Please keep updating. Your entries brighten my day inordinately.
from pmattie :
Hello again my little Shoe Monkeys! For those of you who are oldies but goldies and for those of you who are fresh off the press, I am doing my "Ode To Independent Films" again. I noticed that it was only a short year ago that I did it, and back by popular demand, here ya go: Tell me your top 3 favorite indie flicks at the present time." In a week, I'll post the results...Happy hunting!--Pmattie
from hippie4peace :
Helloies, you seem like a very interesting person. I'm an activist too...for animal rights. Umm...I guess I will see you around.
from theshrike :
Oh good, I can finally read you again. I was starting to fear the development of a brain tumor without your words. Relief: overwhelming. Cheers.
from shesajar :
hey handsome, send me your addy to [email protected] so that we can get you trading some music with strangers (mostly cute, liberal canadian girls who like compassionate, lood-looking Harvard law students like yourself).
from violetwoman :
Hey, I discover a diary that challenges my feeble brain cells only to be locked out? I may not understand half of what you write, but I do enjoy trying. I know little of my Canadian political scene, much less your American one, but what the hell. Hope you decide to unlock, or at least mail out passwords! And thanks for adding me to your list; that was very kind of you!
from ilonina :
Hope all is well, friend... I notice that you too have been afflicted with the necessity to duck undercover for a while. I hope that there is nothing seriously wrong. Might I have the password? I miss your erudition and wisdom!
from shesajar :
username and password to get in now?
from roapearl :
Thanks for joining the ring. Eccentricity is wonderful, innit?
from rumblelizard :
Thanks for adding me as a fave!
from frodoz-ring :
FINALLY!Someone who knows who Hans Zimmer(If I get I get one more weird look I will scream) is AND enjoys LoTR(Who has actually read the books). There is actually human intelligence. My search was not in vain
from theshrike :
Yes, diary reviews are mostly pointless little expulsions of narrow minded opinions based on no working knowledge of the diarist at hand... but it's something to do. I kid. Besides, most people who sign up for a review do so to gain a little more traffic for their sites, a reason to have something to complain about, and have little to no attachment to their actual "grade". All in all, everyone assosiated with reviews are shallow in their own hypocritical sort of way. Sorry, this isn't a flame, just had to stand up for the people who do reviews out there (hi, my name is Cristin and I'm in cahoots with Diary Reviews).
from prowlingleo :
I know this is officialy random guestbook signing week, but I'm making it a 'thank you for reading me' day. So here is me, thanking you, for continuing to read me.
from prowlingleo :
I never thought you and I would have so much in common. Your writing far outweighs mine, your intelligence as well, and yet I can see myself writing some of what you have in your top 100. As for the woman you are talking about, I have no doubt that she is proud of you; if not, she's a fool. And as far as being a loner, yet fearing being alone, well you're not alone in that fear.
from poeticstance :
Your diary is quite intriguing, I think it's I that should be thanking you. You certainly don't need anything from me as far as your words...they are beautiful as is. ~Melody, aka ProwlingLeo
from ilonina :
Thank you very much for listing me as a favourite - for the compliments, of course (we're all vain) but particularly for pointing me to your diary. I'm incredibly impressed by your experiences and reflections, and humbled at the breadth of knowledge you have on world politics. I'll be back, very soon.
from prowlingleo :
Thank you for adding me as a favorite. I will be doing the same under my poetry diary, poeticstance. Captivating and interesting diary...I look forward to reading further entries.
