Good to see you!
from raven72d :
Welcome back to DL.
from annanotbob :
Hiya! I was just clicking on random entries on my blog, spotted your name and wanted to pop in to say hello, hope you are well etc. Are you writing somewhere else or are you just a facebook queen these days? If so, I'm Anna Mills, living in Brighton UK if you fancy catching up. All the best xxx
from coldandgray :
facebook killed my blog, too.
from college-kid :
Yay! I missed you! :D
from benzene :
Happy holidays to you too!! I haven't written an entry in forever either, but I'll always be lurking around here. Oh yeah, I've been meaning to tell you: At my lab's holiday party this year, the subject of Banksy came up, and everything I said I learned from your diary (and maybe some subsequent Googling...I remember reading about his art show with the elephant literally in the room). You saved my butt! Thanks and hope all's well!
from annanotbob :
Mi casa tu casa etc. Meanwhile, happy christmas dear boy, glad to hear you are still with us. I'm a f/b scrabble addict if you fancy a game - Anna Mills xx
from autumnrein :
Hi Josh! It is so funny how things work out. I've actually been thinking for a week now about noting you myself, but of course I once again get caught up in the thinking rather than the acting. I'm taking your note as a sign-lol. I wanted to talk to you and ask you some questions. I was wondering if I could email you. You can email me if you prefer (whenever you have time, cause I know you are very busy)...that way it won't be broadcasted for the entire world to see. Mine's listed on my profile...(or it will be after I write this-lol) Yes, my mother and I love Uncle Dean. Read 7-02-08 "A confession" if you would like to know more...I wrote a bit more about him there. I want to get to know him better...(as I don't think anyone else in our family has tried to do that), but I don't want to bother him either. (I'm paranoid about bothering people). I'll tell you lots more when/if I can email you. Thank you for the note!-Andrea
from annanotbob :
Sounds like you need to come back, but maybe to Brighton this time... gayer and cooler than SF and several Banksy's...
from autumnrein :
Those are very hard questions to answer. I've often asked them myself. My first spontaneous response would be, "Yes! They should tell you everything! If you really love each other, then you should know everything there is to know about each other and there should be no secrets whatsoever!! Communication is the key to a relationship. No communication=no relationship" But then, when I really think about it, and when I'm sensitive to the experiences that some people have in their lives, sometimes there are things that just are better left unsaid, forgotten, and in the past. Sometimes those things aren't even relevant to a good relationship. But I think, just as in your situation, if something comes up and it bothers you, then that's where communication is important. I think you have a right to ask about someone's past. And, I admire you for having the courage to ask him about that. Not many people would have. You are lucky, too, to have a friend who responds well and can ease your fears. I don't care how often you write. Just don't quit. I enjoy reading your words.-Andrea

hey i saw you were online and i really wanted the vote from diaryland members towards an art contest i joined. It's a coach marketing contest and i need as many votes as i can get, please help! http://www.brickfish.com/Pages/PhotosAlbums/PhotoView.aspx?picid=975395_34070543&pid=2767347&scid=452
from coldandgray :
NO, No, NO! I am so sorry! I hate that I did not see this post until so late. I am heartbroken for your loss. You did the right thing, but I know how agonizing it all is. Waaa! So sorry. Sending hugs & Kisses.
from benzene :
I am so sorry about Squeaky. She was so lucky to be loved by you. Big hugs, and take care.
from shinythings- :
I'm so sorry about Squeaky. :( It's so awful. You loved her though and you did the best for her you could. *hug*
from sunstargirl :
I'm so so sorry to hear about Squeaky. hugs my friend.
from bindyree :
Thanks for your sweet note, dear! I will be in Rapair Cat territory from June 29th to July 9th; I am going to stay with Old Buddy Dave in Anaheim and hit Disneyland as often as I can. I will absolutely give Laila T. Repair Cat the best snuzzles ever, especially from you, in honor of Her Squeakness. :-)
from college-kid :
My words escape me... I am deeply moved by your story, and extremely sad for your loss.
from bindyree :
Let me tell you something: I believe with all my heart that you did exactly the right thing this time around. Some cats can bounce back, and others cannot; Squeaky's inability to resist the disorder could not have been fixed with any amount of money -- and I want you to know that for whatever pittance this is worth, you did your very best. It's unfair, and rotten, and no matter what anybody tells you, you're gonna hurt for as long as this takes. Thank you for posting the picture; it helps to know and understand that you were brave enough to do the right thing for such a great little kitty. Peace and strength, hon.
from autumnrein :
It always seems too soon to the owner of a pet. I had to go through the same thing myself with my dog. But we both did the right thing at the right time. Distemper is probably the worst disease an animal can have. She is most certainly in a better place and free from pain. -Andrea
from annanotbob :
Hugs, darling.
from sunstargirl :
ugh, this makes me mad.
from coldandgray :
Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Finally some good news, you made my day.
from college-kid :
Thanks! I'm actually just getting my associates, but I'll have my bachelors in Biology in another three years-- hopefully, if I don't change my major again. Then I dream of going to pharmacy school. =) I really appreciate all the support, I don't really get alot from my family-- especially my mom.
from college-kid :
I did! 12$ at Ross, can't beat that. It's really comfortable, too. Fingers crossed the "Swine Flu" outbreak doesn't delay the ceremony.
from college-kid :
I'm completely beside myself that Squeaky made it! Animals personality are such a blessing to have. And about the bill: you can't put a price on life. Even though I'm personally not a cat person, I think it was well worth it just by seeing the joy Squeaky brings you. =)
from coldandgray :
I was all teary, but got hopeful after seeing bindyree's note. I am thinking of you & your sweet kitty. My cat is 16 & on two different kinds of meds for the rest of her life. Losing her is going to KILL me.
from sunstargirl :
poor little kitty! We're all hoping she makes it. Keep us updated.
from jonathan29 :
OMG..I just cried buckets reading that. I hope everything turns out OK with Squeaky. Please keep us all posted.
from bindyree :
Hi, love, I wanted to drop you a note and say that the next few days of drug therapy and nursing are going to do the kitty a world of good. According to my reading, once the virus is controlled, the cat should be okay. You caught her at the very beginning of her symptoms, which is a good thing. Right now, she's full of meds, resting comfortably, and there's a bunch of people there at the vet place who adore her. She's in very good hands, and I know you wish they were your hands, but I promise she's comfy. If she's supposed to come through this, she will. Hang in there! xoxoxox
from coldandgray :
Glad you had a good bday despite P.P.'s antics.
from jonathan29 :
I missed you! Again! Happy belated birthday miss thang!
from coldandgray :
DEMAND SQUEAKY PICS!!
from sunstargirl :
congratulations, DAD!! haha
from sun-dials :
Oh my god! How cute, I love kittens! You'll have to post pictures :D
from college-kid :
See, what had happened was... Haha, no, I didn't-- thank god. But I'm waiting for the whole thing to blow over before I visit their house again. xD
from college-kid :
Haha, actually, it was one class. It's a team taught class, I have three professors. One teaches economics, one teaches western civ. and one teaches sociology. Sadly, all three subjects are on one test. It's horrible. lol
from sunstargirl :
haha, that's fabulous.
from bindyree :
You have now officially breathed celebrity air molecules. Be proud!
from sunstargirl :
geez, he sounds mentally imbalanced.
from coldandgray :
What a nut ball, good riddance.
from annanotbob :
Whew! What a git. He'll never stop drinking till people stop accepting his excuses, so you're all doing the right thing. Poor Shaggy though - I only heard of him five minutes ago and want to give him a big hug now x
from coldandgray :
HI! I am glad the ex-marine has been keeping you joyfully occupied, even if it meant such a long absence from ol' D-land.
from sunstargirl :
Hey Buddy! WOW, long time no update! I'm glad to see you back on here. Pete sounds like a total jerk off. Glad you broke off those ties. I'm so happy to hear you and ex-Marine are still together! That's wonderful!
from college-kid :
I MISSED YOUUUU! ^_^
from sun-dials :
Aw, I'm glad you're back. I've missed you! Trust me hun, you don't need any baggage to weigh you down. You're definitely doing the right thing concerning the Pete situation. Hoping life is swell! :)
from jonathan29 :
hey betch...I don't know where you think you're hiding, but I'm not tolerating it.
from benzene :
I miss your entries! Hope all is well, and happy holidays :-)
from benzene :
Did you see this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2und1kmLxwA First time I've heard Dan Savage speak, and he is wonderful (at ripping the terrible deceptive guy a new one). Hang in there -- I'm beaming hopeful thoughts your way.
from sunstargirl :
I'm absolutely heart broken for everyone that prop 8 passed. I was completely shocked that it did. I never would have thought in a million years... it's just EFFING RETARDED!!
from coldandgray :
Nation-wide protest 11/15.
from college-kid :
I can't believe prop 8 passed. It makes me sad how a country founded on religious toleration can deny such a right.
from coldandgray :
I am so sorry about prop 8. I never ever thought it would pass, just so unbelievable & sad. But hey, change is afoot! Let's fight the sucker!
from bindyree :
Prop 8, boo hiss, but hey, at least now we have a president that can speak in complete sentences!
from bindyree :
Hey, thank you for the excellent comment! I appreciate your readership! :-) xo Brin
from coldandgray :
She terrifies me.
from sunstargirl :
thanks for the condolences. sarah palin pisses me off to no end. her level of ignorance is frightening.
from sun-dials :
Oh my, I cannot agree with you MORE about Sarah Palin. And that video is yet more evidence of her ignorance. But thanks for this entry - your comments made me laugh:)
from jonathan29 :
Hey, by the way....I talked to your BF Blake from AI. You can have him back now. He asked me to tell you he needs you to pay his rent. Toodles! :)
from sunstargirl :
Well, I already posted it once here: http://sunstargirl.diaryland.com/071017_28.html So I thought it would be redundant to post a picture of it again a year later.
from sunstargirl :
LOL! Thanks for sharing the love! Right back at ya! Maybe I should run for office, eh? ;)
from coldandgray :
RIP, Del.
from sunstargirl :
wow, what you said just struck me as so profound.
from jonathan29 :
By the way, Jakey G is still MY boyfriend.
from jonathan29 :
Are you still around, Mary?
from coldandgray :
Is he hotter than me? hahah, JESUS! Good luck with this one.
from sunstargirl :
That is just bizarre. How can you make demands on what kind of party your friends throw you? It's supposed to come from them - their own special way of honoring you, not from yourself. This guy totally doesn't understand that. Weird. It never ceases to amaze me some of the simplest social graces that people somehow arrive at adulthood having never learned. This guy is socially stunted. I almost pity him how much he REALLY doesn't "get it."
from bindyree :
Why don't you throw Pete's party before he comes back? That would definitely be a surprise!
from sunstargirl :
One of my dad's best friends adopted two twin boys who were named Diamond and Denim. The first thing she did after getting them was to change their names to Matthew and Evan.
from coldandgray :
I don't know, the name Violence is kinda pretty................kidding!
from coldandgray :
My brother told me he would pay for my son's college education if I allowed him rights to name him Geronimo or Ichabod or Crow. It was a lot of $$ but I had to turn it away! I like the name Knox because of Dead Poets Society, but that is a lot of X ending names in that family!
from sunstargirl :
haha! hilarious, especially since I just came across this article in the news a few days ago where a Florida man traded the right to name his newborn baby for a $100 gas card. His wife was all for it too!!! read the article here: http://www.miamiherald.com/416/story/602634.html
from sunstargirl :
PS - I should clarify that those who choose to dress and behave as "females" in Samoan society also marry men, so they have openly homosexual relationships. This is just one example of a different way of dividing gender roles in a functioning society. Samoans actually have a very strict division between male and female roles in their society, but allow people to cross over the line and decide which roles they prefer to fill with more leniency than we do in Western society. Imagine a society where gay men weren't considered "female" but had a whole other third category that had just as much respect and weight as the heterosexual male role. We need to develop this niche for people so that everyone is valued. :) That's what I think, anyway.
from sunstargirl :
It was tons of fun! I laughed, I cried, I made out like a bandit with tons of free loot! It was a perfect day. The only parade I think is better is the Chinese New Year parade in San Francisco... but that's probably because I've been in that parade 4 times (I used to study Kung-Fu). I thought of you during the parade. You should trek up here next year because the Seattle one is HUGE. I wish more people were open-minded as well. You know, in many of the wisest cultures, such as Samoan and some Native American tribes, homosexuality was revered as a blessing and those who were such served special functions that were considered an integral part of the community. In Samoa, if a mother gives birth to four sons, the fourth is raised as a girl so the mother has help with the female chores/tasks in the household. The fourth boy is given a female name and expected to dress as a woman. Some boys choose to take on the female roles by themselves and it is not considered shameful - actually quite the opposite, they're very much respected. (I believe it's vice versa for a fourth girl being raised as a boy as well). I think if people were better educated, especially if they were exposed to different ways of living/culture through the study of anthropology and/or geography, the Western world would be a lot more tolerant and open-minded about alternative lifestyles. People are only intolerant because they live in very sheltered bubbles of total ignorance to the diversity of life and culture in the world. I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.
from bindyree :
I found you in the tag cloud; also a Disney fan with an annual pass, but I live in San Francisco. Anyway, you're in my buddy list now and I hope you got some duct tape to cover up the wire so the kitty didn't nom nom it again!
from benzene :
Okay, I snuck in a few photos -- enjoy! :-D (Apparently he and his brothers get approving looks all the time. Too bad I don't have pictures of them!)
from college-kid :
I bet it would be alot more interesting if YOU taught it! I just can't get into my professor's teaching methods. He's very uninspiring.
from autumnrein :
It is very good to be back! I miss it here. I've been around; just not...here. I did take the MCAT but I only recieved an average score (25). The prep practically made me sick, studying hours and hours and hours. And the physics KILLED me. It just made absolutely no sense to me at all! (Plus I could have cared less about batteries and electric circuits and all that-lol). But I did happen to get an interview. It was disastrous though. I had one woman who...contradicted EVERYTHING I ever said. And...that was it. I obviously must have not wanted to be a doctor as bad as i thought I did because I wasn't willing to retake that MCAT. I knew I would end up in an institution before too long-lol. So, now I'm in graduate school for science education....something entirely more layed back. Although it isn't something I'm extreamly passionate about...I have so many other passions that kinda make up for it. But, yes, I'm so glad to be back here and I'm going to force myself to stay here.-lol. It's so wonderful that you still write. I shall try and catch up on your entries, but how about you? Are you in med school, still trying for med school, or are you pursuing/doing something different now?-Andrea
from autumnrein :
You're still here! You're the only one after all these years. I haven't been around for a long while, but I'm back now. I was wondering if I could still read your journal and add you again?-Andrea
from benzene :
Haha, what a great note! He's a field assistant for one of the grad students here...but he's an undergrad, so you might get burned! You should have seen him in his sparkly wig later that evening :-)
from college-kid :
Aww, thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it. =) Seems logical-- it'll go into effect very soon.
from sunstargirl :
HAHAHA!!! AND DOUBLE HAHAAHA @ FAT AMERICANS SINKING IT'S A SMALL WORLD!!
from college-kid :
AW! Have fun! It's a grand ol' time! :D
from sunstargirl :
That's why between now and November the gay/lesbian community needs to be very vocal and fight for their rights. Minorities have turned popular opinion before, but only when they stand up and refuse to back down on an issue. There needs to be lots of public demonstrations, parades, etc. Get the media's attention and you'll have the nation in your hands.
from sunstargirl :
Aww, thanks. You are so kind! :)
from sunstargirl :
Thanks! :) I inherited it from my mommy.
from sunstargirl :
yeah, it looks like I found out the hard way about tissue vs. cotton balls. I don't think I'll sue. As long as there's no permanent damage I think it's pretty funny. If I have a scar though, I will cease to see the humor in the situation, then Biore BEWARE the wrath of Sunstargirl!! Speaking of noses, I meant to reply to your previous note to say that I loved the name Cameron as well until I discovered that it means "crooked nose" in Gaelic, so that kind of turned me off to it. Hopefully I have quite a few years ahead of me to find the perfect name before Bear and I start populating though. PS - Thank you Shinythings, I thought it was a good idea too! :)
from shinythings- :
ditto @ sunstargirl. do not put up with cats who eat your shit. they don't grow out of it.
from college-kid :
I'd tape it to the wall. xD
from sunstargirl :
sell your cat for $160 and break even!
from coldandgray :
I actually sneaked out of work early on Friday to go see it, haha. I totally agree with you about Carrie. I kind of Wish Aiden made a guest appearance.
from sunstargirl :
I didn't catch the show a lot because I don't watch TV all that often (no cable) but from what I did catch I couldn't understand what Carrie saw in Big. He just seemed like an ass most of the time - really arrogant. I thought Aiden had a much better personality, not to mention better looking, though I despaired when I first heard his name because I was going to name my son Aiden (it's Irish for "little fire") but now I can't because it's been popularized. I have to hunt for another unusual (without being too weird) name that is both powerful and nods at my ancestral roots to keep tucked away for some future date. I was really pissed that the name Aiden has been ruined. It went from not even being on the charts to now being the second most popular boy's name in the US for the past 3 years. Damn that show!!!
from annanotbob :
I don't know - you girls and your periods... xx
from sunstargirl :
Exactly! I couldn't agree with you more. It's also ironic that these same conservatives who want a small government and less regulations when it comes to their private business practices, turn around and also want to government to control women's reproductive rights and who's sleeping with who and let only those who fit into their idea of a perfect little cookie-cutter nuclear family be allowed to marry. It's totally hypocritical. You can't advocate for small government AND want a government to regulate people's personal lives. Not to mention they're advocating government sanctioned discrimination. I don't think this kind of close-minded thinking will last past our generation. I think our generation will eradicate it. I'm hopeful.
from annanotbob :
Hurrah!
from coldandgray :
CHEERS APPLAUSE
from college-kid :
YAY! You're back! *Dances*
from sunstargirl :
hahaha, I laughed!
from college-kid :
YEAH YOU'VE BEEN LAZY! Jeez, when my favorite diaries stop updating it's like... the end of the world. Would you really like to be responsible for such a thing?
from sunstargirl :
thanks! (btw - you need to update more!)
from sunstargirl :
yeah, good point about schizophrenia. I notice a lot of them are war veterans as well. What kind of society lets their war heroes and mentally ill live in such destitution? I think it really reflects so negatively on us. It makes me embarrassed.
from coldandgray :
Your positive thoughts do help. There are many things that can be done for him, so don't let him give up hope. Living so healthily for 20 years is amazing. I lost my cousin to AIDS in '94 before so many advances were made. I am sending him my good thoughts.
from sunstargirl :
I don't think I'd be so strong either. It's really admirable that he is so strong about this. It makes me want to become a stronger person too. I thought you'd enjoy that joke, hehe.
from sunstargirl :
I am so sorry to hear all this. Doug sounds like he's really been a true friend. Good people don't deserve this $!*#!! I guess all you can do in situations like these is try to be as supportive of him in his crisis as he has been to you in yours, you know? It's really just awful news though. Poor guy, I understand his worry about being treated differently, because people act like total morons when it comes to HIV and AIDS. It's actually impossible to catch unless you're swapping body fluids, and even then only blood or semen, and yet people have such a paranoia about it... like I remember this story on the news a few years back of this mailman who found out a person on his route had AIDS and he refused to deliver his mail because he was afraid he might cut himself on something on the guy's property. So retarded. It's not like the flu virus. It's not sitting on objects the guy owns just waiting to infect a new host. That news story really pissed me off. Anyway, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. It's just tragic. It sounds like he is in a good, optimistic mindset about it all though, and that is really going to work in his favor to give him strength.
from college-kid :
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. My thoughts are with him.
from coldandgray :
Ah, thank you for the invite! It is going to be a wonderful party and it is a great healing milestone for you. I will be sending my best party vibes to you.
from coldandgray :
ARG! I am late on my birthday wishes: sending you belated happy happies! and the Ex-M sounds so promising. Getting tested on a first date is an interesting move, but he seems like such a sweet guy. Good on ya!
from sunstargirl :
I plead temporary insanity!! lol! As for you, I am optimistic for you as well. This guy sounds like a real gentleman so far. I think the fact that he wants to take it slow indicates he wants more than just a fling or one night stand, so that's good for you! I hope things continue to go in this direction.
from sunstargirl :
so, how did Thursday night go? were there sparks?
from sunstargirl :
whoops! I'm really sorry for that. I did not mean to lock you out. I think I've figured out why it stopped working, I tried to create another word set that had one of the same words in it and apparently it doesn't like that, so I deleted the other one and yours should work again. I'm sorry you couldn't get in! Please try it again now.
from sunstargirl :
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! and ooo, a Marine!!! that is SOOO HOT! Definitely keep us updated on how your date goes this week.
from coldandgray :
Damn, go for it! Have fun.
from sunstargirl :
lol, I think trigonometry would be a little advanced for first graders, but I think they're going to do some math games and stuff. btw, let me know if you're having trouble adding me.
from sunstargirl :
I know!!
from sunstargirl :
LMAO! Free your inner woman! Let her run naked in the streets! lol, enjoy your well deserved break. :)
from jonathan29 :
I wanna get wild and show off my boobies too.
from jonathan29 :
Post please. :)
from not-tuesday :
I am so enjoying it...thanks, darlin :o)
from sunstargirl :
yeah, I agree. I just don't know how to ignore him without getting a whole slew of messages asking me why I'm ignoring him all of a sudden. I hate confrontation.
from coldandgray :
The wonders of the internet!
from college-kid :
That's why Facebook is so neat. I'm excited to see how things turn out. =)
from sunstargirl :
sweet! that's awesome to find him again. I love myspace and facebook for those very reasons!
from jonathan29 :
OMG!!! That was totally the song I've had stuck in my head for days! Thanks bro!
from annanotbob :
Hiya - I clicked on your name in the new boxes and just wanted to say hi and to wish you well. If he cheated once, I'll bet he cheats again and it'll all go to shit while you meet someone decent and true. Happy 2008! Anna x ps and I've added you - hope that's OK
from sunstargirl :
I had to lock my blog. If you feel comfortable with it, might I have your email to send you a password? I will erase your comment after receiving it so your info isn't posted for long.
from jonathan29 :
It's good to hear from you! I've been wondering how you've been doing....
from coldandgray :
I know it is frustrating, but your time will come. And soon, I am betting.
from coldandgray :
"HI!" and "OOPS!"
from sunstargirl :
ooh! that's embarrassing! I feel bad for laughing at your misfortune.
from coldandgray :
Hey sweets, sorry for the major lack of communication, but I am BACK and look forward to catching up with you. Hope all is well, my friend.
from sunstargirl :
LOL! Nice joke.
from sunstargirl :
lol! Obama isn't muslim or middle eastern (though even if he was I don't see why that would mean he shouldn't be president) he's christian and half black. His dad was from Kenya and his mom was a corn fed white girl from Kentucky. This is such a racist country. By favorite was the Fox news coverage on Clinton during the debates. They interviewed a bunch of women who said things like. "I think she should show off her legs more. She has such nice legs." None of them had anything to say about the issues, just her body. I wanted to shoot myself. Racist and sexist.
from shinythings- :
I still think you should send him the bill for everything you paid for in his house. Seriously, it might not help you completely, but you shouldn't have to fund all of his crap with the other guy. :( Whatever. French Fitch is a loser, and you can do so much better than someone who shot down your dreams all along.
from sunstargirl :
your new year's resolution should be to stop talking to that guy. It's masochism. Block him, cut him out completely, and then move on in 2008. :)
from sunstargirl :
I'm glad you had a fun Christmas day! Happy New Year!
from sunstargirl :
yeah, it's not an easy thing to do. I have to constantly push myself to let go of the anger and remember the lessons. At first it's all purely an exercise and not a reflection of my true feelings, but after several years of practice it becomes the truth and suddenly the anger is gone for real. "Time heals all wounds."
from sunstargirl :
because he wasn't the right person for you if he couldn't figure any of those things out about you for himself. You can be a great person and still date, even fall in love with, people who are wrong for you. Being a great person doesn't mean that everyone will be a perfect match - that's expecting perfection out of 6 billion plus people on the planet. He knew he wasn't right for you so he freed you to be able to find the one who is... Not that any of this should make you feel better about being dumped... but at least he didn't string you along for months or even years like some people do. Nevertheless, it's a crappy situation and you have every right to lick your wounds. Do what you need to do to mourn and move on. *hugs*
from shinythings- :
The people who say those things are the people who care about you and AREN'T douches. 99% of people act like idiots in relationships. I don't know. You have a good point, and I don't like thinking about it... =P
from sunstargirl :
I'm so sorry to hear this! :(
from shinythings- :
What happened?!
from shinythings- :
Ha! That would be the best revenge ever, and I hope you DO write a book where basically that happens. I, personally, hope for smaller defeats that are more soul-crushing. Like his penis mysteriously shrivels up and stops working and they can't find a cure. The new boyfriend cheats on him and leaves him for someone better looking and more well off. I don't know. It's easier when I know the person really well and I know exactly what will hurt them the most while doing the least actual damage, so that way I don't feel TOO bad about it happening. =P
from shinythings- :
we're all statues at least some of the time. =P i personally am still waiting for french fitch to get his...and it will happen eventually. i have faith, and so should you. :)
from sunstargirl :
man, you have every right to wish that guy misery. Screwing up someone's credit is like the most evil thing one can do. That's not funny at all. That shit makes one's life Hell for YEARS. I feel for you.
from shinythings- :
He's anti iPod and already has like 10 mp3 players. =P
from sunstargirl :
lol, after all that you guys ended up together all weekend! This love story makes me smile, I have to say. I'm super affectionate too, to the point where my boyfriend just calls me "Snuggle."
from shinythings- :
When I feel like I'm getting obnoxious, I pull away for a while. Just get busy and distract yourself, and he'll get lonely. :)
from sunstargirl :
whoops, didn't mean to dodge your question! I haven't gotten the chance to go there yet. We're on kind of a tight budget right now and haven't been eating out much. It really is on my list of places I want to check out though! I'm going to try to find a way to go there sometime this weekend. That will me my goal. I also need to find where the library is as well.
from sunstargirl :
aww, man, that's tough. Try to keep yourself really busy this weekend. Don't spend time sitting around at home. Go out with your friends, be around people and take part in activities. It will help the time go by easier and help you get your mind off him a bit. It seems like you really have a good thing going here with him, but it's important to let a fine wine breathe.
from coldandgray :
good luck with that. It is hard to pull back the reigns on the human heart. : )
from sunstargirl :
I wish I was busier... been spending WAY too much time on the internet lately. It's not healthy.
from benzene :
Aww, what a great return entry! Btw, I don't write about relationship stuff on Benzene because of the audience, but I thought you might like to know that there is -finally- a guy in the picture for me too. So we can be giddy and blissed out together! hehe. Take care!
from sunstargirl :
Congratulations on the new man! I love the "honeymoon" phase of relationships. Hope you've been handling those fires alright as well. Some of my friends have been evacuated this past week. It sounds awful down there right now. I heard that some of the fires were started by an arsonist who was killed by police when they tried to apprehend him. Do you know more about this? Is that true?
from shinythings- :
where have you been?!
from shinythings- :
Sweetie, you should come to Texas. All the grad students do there is party. =P And it's good you found out about JAG sooner rather than later. I don't know how anyone can be so jaded that they don't believe in the possibility of monogamy (and all the wonderful things that can potentially come with it.)
from sunstargirl :
I'll have to check out that restaurant! Thanks for the tip! I've only just moved to Seattle, so I still feel rather like a tourist here. I went to college in the LA area though, so I'm familiar with your city as well. I'm originally from San Francisco. (Nor Cal baby, woot!)
from sunstargirl :
I like your diary. Cheers.
from shinythings- :
Good luck in grad school! And grad students who don't party? I don't think those exist! ;)
from shinythings- :
"The flame is waning...we're going to Vegas!" =P That sounds like a contradiction to me.
from shinythings- :
You might be ashamed but... *waves her urbancadence banner* Woowoo! :)
from shinythings- :
We can't! We live 2000 miles apart!!! ;)
from coldandgray :
You've seen Torch Song Trilogy, right? I love that movie & cry just thinking about it.
from coldandgray :
NORM!
from coldandgray :
Good for you. Get some rest and take it easy for awhile; you will feel better.
from shinythings- :
Hehe, I can't talk. I seriously fall hard for guys in no time flat. It took me 6 hours to determine that K was the love of my life, and that I wanted to marry him and make lots of adorable blond babies with him. Not even joking! And I've spent nearly three years trying to get him, so... ;) And I'm glad you don't mind my lovesick rambling. I really didn't think I would ever be this happy, and I can't stop myself. It renews my faith, though, in the idea that people really do get what they deserve. :) *love*
from coldandgray :
To protect your sanity and your heart, you can awlays just stay home & never go out again. yeah RIGHT!
from shinythings- :
With my expert skills of relationship overanalysis, I have deduced he has just gone through an incredibly traumatic relationship, trusts no one, and is not ready to date anyone. Moreover, he is attracted to you and subconsciously wants to be with you, which is why he wants to be friends, even if he's not like, all over you. *cough* Either that, or he's just an emotional fuckwit. Either way... :( Sorry it didn't work out.
from shinythings- :
maybe he doesn't want it to be just about sex? i don't know. he sounds confusing. wait it out, i guess. =\
from coldandgray :
People are weird and it is really hard to find the one you prefectly connect with, but you will. It takes time, luck and fate.
from shinythings- :
i've got my fingers crossed for you that he calls! :)
from coldandgray :
haha. and so it goes, round and round. Most guys would have just failed to return the first guys phone calls, so don't feel guilty. Good luck with JAG.
from shinythings- :
I'm glad you got some shots! That's really kind of scary. :( And yes, I got a couple of great presents. Erica and Nick got me a Wacom tablet for my computer, so I can draw pictures. And Kellen sent me flowers and a bear and chocolates. It was really nice. :)
from coldandgray :
OH NO! You OK? awful!
from shinythings- :
did you go to the doctor? how is it doing?
from shinythings- :
the dog and its owner both probably got hit by a car on the way home. :(
from coldandgray :
Crushes are fun, but he is more of a crush if you have already gone to home base! You are not a ho because it means so much more to you than just getting some.
from shinythings- :
I used to own that t-shirt. ;) And I *love* Seattle. And Portland. And basically the entire Pacific Northwest. Another of my friends is up here (separately), and we've both decided this is where it's at. I totally am going to attempt to move here as soon as I get the chance.
from shinythings- :
Um, I'm having to private my diaryland for a few days, until I get back from vacation. Thought I'd give you the information to read, if you want: username:katie pw: bob I'm so sorry about you being blue. Stupid French boys. :(
from coldandgray :
Good luck with that. It will be so nice once you are all moved into your new place and can start fresh. Just think of that as you lift box after box.
from coldandgray :
That accident sounds terrifying. You are such a good person to be there for him like that. Friends like you are rare.
from konzadiary :
I so love drama, in any life but my own. So it's rather refreshing to report that things in my neck of the woods have settled down nicely. Amazing the things that can happen when people who need to be medicated find a medication that works. I do have a little work drama but I don't blog about work so all I'll say is that I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore. I hope my supervisor has a fire suit. She's going to need it for my upcoming annual review...
from shinythings- :
yeah, agreed. the whole middle part i was like, "umm...no." there was so much room for funny and good stuff that it was kind of a disappointment. "oregon guy goes to meet crazy southern family he never meets before, catches up with this crazy chick, and goes on a road trip." SO MUCH POTENTIAL. and...yeah. the soundtrack was good though. :)
from coldandgray :
Whatever were you thinking? How miserable!
from blancheneige :
Haha.. if it's any consolation, I feel your pain. Visited a restaurant last friday and I'm still enjoying the concequences of ill prepared Mousaka.
from shinythings- :
I was just thinking, "I hope he's updated!" Although I think I was hoping for a little more than an update on your ass. ;)
from coldandgray :
See? it works, ha ha! Glad you are enjoying yourself. Looking for a new apartment sounds like a good project. LUCK!
from coldandgray :
Your new matra: be cool, have fun, be cool, have fun, be cool, have fun.
from shinythings- :
Maybe you should start playing a little hard to get yourself. Find another boy toy! That's the best way to keep them interested and to keep you from getting too attached. And it's really good for the self-esteem. =P
from shinythings- :
My ex and the girl he dumped me for recently broke up and the drama has been unending ever since. Just because FF hasn't gotten his yet, doesn't mean he won't. Trust me. ;)
from shinythings- :
I have talked to him about all those things. In fact, it was a big part of the reason why we broke up back in January. I told him then that if he wanted to have sex, he was going to have to work on things. It just...apparently didn't sink in. I don't know. I'm so frustrated with him all around at this point. I keep thinking if he'd just get a job and start being a grown-up things might be okay, but that seems like a really stupid way to think, because if he were the kind of person I want to be with, he wouldn't take six months to find a job when he has an electrical engineering degree from one of the top engineering programs in the country. *sigh* I care about him a lot. He's basically my best friend. I feel like we shouldn't be dating, though. :(
from jonathan29 :
Ditto on the Heroes thing. I thought it was tres suckola.
from coldandgray :
I completely agree. That love fest at the end between Nathan & Peter was totally fruity! It is such a great show, but they blew it! I think Hiro is going back to where the mutant stuff all started.
from coldandgray :
I am a gift giver, too & it does totally freak people out for some sad reason. Oh well, at least you had some fun & are keeping a great attitude.
from jonathan29 :
Men are so weird....sigh. I'm sorry that Chris turned out to be mental. Be glad that you found out early, right?
from jonathan29 :
I'm happy for you! Also, you can leave a comment on my other blog. I just switched the setting so anonymous users can leave comments. Hope things are going well with the new man!
from coldandgray :
Hi!
from konzadiary :
A punch? That must be the equivalent of my occasional request to be smacked with a louisville slugger or a handy 2 x 4. Why don't you just enjoy it for a few more weeks before anyone tries to rain on your parade? Us, we're getting ready to go on vacation to visit my father. She hasn't tried to rip my head off in over 5 weeks now...I feel like I'm on a roll. Wish me luck!
from shinythings- :
owow! that's all i've gotta say. ;)
from konzadiary :
'Schoolboy crush' my ass. It's called a rebound and it's good for you. You go girl. I remember when I first decided to date after 'the breakup.' I put an ad in the L/N and dated every woman from Palos Verdes to Victorville. It felt so good to know I was desirable and it felt doubly good to desire. Now...you wrote something that pissed me off and I'll tell you why and hope what I have to say will make you change your point of view...you said "...end up growing old alone as a miserable misanthrope." Why does everything hinge on being half of a whole? Why can't someone be happy and fulfilled within themselves? Why does being alone have to be so miserable? I think if you like yourself first, being alone is not a bad thing and gives you even more value to the friends and lovers you can surround yourself with. Why offer up half of something to the world when you can offer up a whole?
from coldandgray :
Good luck on your "date". Glad you are having fun.
from jonathan29 :
I don't like Blake's new brown hair. You can have him back now...
from coldandgray :
A studio 54 party sounds so fun. LIFE of the party! WOOT!
from jonathan29 :
well alright for you, Miss Party Animal! I'm glad you had a good time! :)
from urbancadence :
I think it's been a tough past few months for the both of us :( I am so sorry about everything on your end. Sigh. But you're right... things can only get better, right? Let's hope so! In the meantime, please update more, I've missed you!! Let it all out! And you hang in there too...
from konzadiary :
Well it's plain to see you've had a crappier last six months than I've had. Hang in there, kid. Things have to get better sometime...don't they???
from jonathan29 :
My boyfriend Blake and I just wanted to say we hope you have a good weekend. MWAH-HAH-HAH!
from coldandgray :
I had a French Fitch & went thru that terrible break-up; I think you have to go through stuff like that in life before you can get to the Sasha's.
from so-then-what :
Reaaally late Happy Birthday to you!
from coldandgray :
HB! How did it go? Hope it was delightful. And I am not so sure if you want me to start watching AI this year, because I will vote for the worst!!! haha.
from benzene :
Happy birthday! Hope you had a blast!
from jonathan29 :
Happy belated birthday!
from shinythings- :
Happy birthday!!!
from shinythings- :
I think I'm Miranda, too. =P
from coldandgray :
I am not watching this season and refuse to get sucked in, so don't even try it!! Sorry you are sick, Nyquil can be your best friend.
from shinythings- :
lol! i'm glad to see you're getting back to your normal self. ;)
from jonathan29 :
I generally try to masticate at least 3 times a day.
from coldandgray :
This kind of hurt is so hard and it takes a long time to get over. and it is because you are such a good person that you feel it all the more. Don't let it change you. I hope your birthday is brings you some comfort.
from shinythings- :
haha, THANK YOU! and I was soooo drunk! It was awesome. I felt under-age again. ;)
from coldandgray :
isn't he the guy who was Two bricks short, anyway? Best to just have fun & start rebuilding your friend circle, off to a good start.
from shinythings- :
what an ass! it's good you made some other friends through him, though! at least he wasn't completely useless. yay! :)
from jonathan29 :
Well, it sounds like Miguel showed up in your life for a purpose: so you could make those new friends you met through him. As far as Miguel himself is concerned, he sounds just like all the guys I've written about over the years here in my diary. I just don't understand why some boys can't extend common courtesy, however I digress on that topic. The important thing is that when your plans didn't work out, you found NEW plans. Kudos!
from shinythings- :
Maybe my reasons for staying are powerful, but there are a lot of times when the desire to be single again is pretty intense. That's the thing I miss about being single. Always having plans (that were interesting), always being the center of attention, and constantly meeting new people (and usually making out with them), and having great stories to tell. Being in a long relationship makes you feel boring and dull, and when it's gone, it's like you lose your safety blanket (your boyfriend) who makes you feel like at least if you're boring and dull, at least you have someone to be boring and dull with. To be honest, these days I'm kind of tired of all the together-ness and really enjoy my days off from the boyfriend. The other night I walked 20 blocks around my neighborhood completely alone after dark just to get Jimmy John's by myself and enjoy the nice evening. It was a little unsafe, but...totally worth it. I think the loneliness thing is something you can get used to, and I'm sure once you start getting yourself into circulation again, things will improve. The love thing...I don't know if that ever goes away, though. I look at it like a debilitating chronic illness that you eventually learn to work around.
from coldandgray :
I second jonathan29. It is hard to get used to, but learning to be alone might be good for you. At least until you get some of your dating strength back up.
from jonathan29 :
I know exactly what you mean: I too am naturally a relationship-oriented type. For that very reason, I'm taking a long break from relationships to see what it's like to be single again, and I just hit month 10. In the beginning, my friend Scott told me that I might actually learn to like being single, and back then I thought "what's he been smoking?", but now I totally get it. I treasure this time I am taking for myself.
from shinythings- :
Enjoying the perks of coupled life is pretty much the only reason I'm still with my boyfriend. As horrible as that is to say.
from nicksmile :
I still believe in happily ever after. Youre not alone, you'll find someone who actually deserves you.
from shinythings- :
I'm pretty sure he has several, so feel free to take your pick.
from shinythings- :
LOL! Fine then. Imaginary Russian Boyfriend, please whisk me away to Rome! ;)
from coldandgray :
Your time with Miguel sounds so nice. You are right to take is SLOW, but allow yourself to have some fun. We will see, this is true. Good luck!
from jonathan29 :
I would think we are long lost twins, if it wasn't for the fact that you're so much younger than me (bitch). I really needed to read this right now because I too have been thinking about dipping my toe back into the dating pool. I met a nice guy that asked me out to dinner, yet I know that I don't really need to get into a serious relationship yet, so I've been avoiding him. However who's to say that he will even like me? I can still just go and try to have a good time! congrats on your date!
from jonathan29 :
Well, thank you! It's rather good to be back. I can't wait to catch up on all your archived entries. Hope things are well.
from shinythings- :
send the bastard the bill.
from so-then-what :
ok, urgent: talk to him about all the debt I'm not sure how you know he's moving but make clear on who's paying what before he gets there. Tell FF you need all your credit because your starting med school and the costs and all that, if you just wait he'll never pay you (happened to my sister). And don't take his word only, specially since his word is shit, make him sign something with a pay plan.
from benzene :
At this point I'm glad you and FF have split. It wasn't meant to be because...um, he's breathtakingly spineless, and you're so much better off without him now that he's shown his true colors. Yes, it's easy for me to say that (and I can't imagine what you're going through), but he's made his disregard for other people's feelings pretty clear. I hope he doesn't lower himself even more by acting all repentant and trying to come back after he's realized how awful he's been. Chin up and all the best!
from so-then-what :
One entry up. Just for you. xoxo
from coldandgray :
I am so sorry, Sweetie. I think there is a balance and you are way over do for some really good things to come your way. FF will get his just desserts.
from shinythings- :
In my experience, what goes around really does come around, and while it might take a while for karma to take effect, it eventually happens to everyone. And trust me, you'll enjoy it immensely when it happens to French Fitch.
from benzene :
Happy V-Day, man. You rock. I hope we see each other at future conferences!!
from coldandgray :
V-day SUCKS!
from shinythings- :
I removed myself because I have a thesis to write. Gah. It's so depressing. On the upside, I get to sleep in for the next few months, so that's what I'm focusing on. =\ I'm sorry you had such a bad Valentine's Day. I think the day was invented purely to make people feel bad about either themselves or their relationships. I think the only good thing about Valentine's Day is the day after -- when all the chocolate goes on sale. :( I hope that today goes better for you.
from coldandgray :
It will bother you for a long time and it is only natural. It is good you are giving yourself time to heal.
from shinythings- :
It will get better with time. I promise. <3
from shinythings- :
I wish! Unfortunately, I think Continental tends to go more toward the uniform with those awful floppy bow ties. *sigh* I love their older uniforms, though. (I'm such a geek. I've been researching uniforms. Some of them are so hideous!) It looks like I'm not going to get to wear a uniform after all. At least not for a few months. I have to finish my thesis first. Blah. Anyhow, hope things are well with you! :)
from benzene :
You too man!! I was so happy when I read your entry because news like that is such a huge help in moving on...it helps you focus on the other wonderful areas of your life, you know? We'll both celebrate this weekend, how about it!
from coldandgray :
Focus on this extra ordinary news, make plans for the future. This will be a great change! I am very happy & excited for you & proud of you, too!
from shinythings- :
Congrats! That's seriously impressive, *especially* considering only 3% get in! Way to go! :) PS: Ph.D. students are so friggin' hot!
from so-then-what :
woohoo! that's awesome! Now, can you please tell what is this weird rash right here on my thigh? don't be shy, c'mon, look at it.
from coldandgray :
"If I went out to a bar with a married friend who got tempted, I would definitely tell him that what he's thinking of doing is wrong, and I would take him away from the situation. Even if I didn't know his wife personally." Great point. Whatta dick wad!
from coldandgray :
Groan! Why did he have to even tell you this new info, to push the knife in further? Don't let this ruin what a good, trusting person you are. You have to rebuild what you gave to him, become even stronger. Don't be afraid to give your heart again, but don't ever dump your friends for some dude again.
from shinythings- :
Sometimes I think the biggest liability in a relationship is being too nice. I'm sorry about all of the things you found out -- that's terrible. :(
from so-then-what :
I'm SO sorry honey. And the pain will lessen with time, even if you don't believe it right now, it will happen. Keep writing, we're here for you.
from not-tuesday :
Aw thank you!!
from coldandgray :
You have a good head on your shoulders and a wonderful heart. These kinds of learning experiences suck ass, but will help you to grow. Thinking of you.
from coldandgray :
I wish you could fast forward through this part to where you get to that perfect place. Yes, please talk about it as much as you can. Get it OUT! PURGE your grief.
from coldandgray :
Hang on, sweetheart. The reason I moved away from San Francisco to Seattle is due to a broken heart, all those reminders are torture at first. You have to fight your way through this, I know it hurts like hell.
from nicksmile :
I'm so sorry.
from benzene :
I totally want to give you a hug right now. Take good care of yourself and do lots of things to distract yourself. In the words of Dido: "And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day / But I promise you you'll see the sun again..."
from shinythings- :
Tell me about it! Ugh. I've dated so many jerks, the mind REELS! *sigh* If you're ever in Austin, let me know. I would totally have that drink (or several) with you. :*(
from coldandgray :
J, I KNOW the pain you are in is terrible. I wish I could say you will feel better tomorrow, but it takes a long time to heal from this kind of hurt. But you WILL feel better, just keep working toward that. As for FF, he is a coward, he took the easy out. Even the best people make the worst choices. In his case, it looks like he was in some kind of insane denial & freaked out. Be angry, be upset, cry, go crazy, eat some ice cream. Give yourself a chance to mourn & then pick yourself back up, because you are too good of a person to let someone else mess it up for you.
from shinythings- :
I'm so incredibly sorry.
from coldandgray :
You must be devastated. It is OK to be really angry. I am sorry to say, but I think he is a coward. I am so sorry he hurt you. You are such a sweet, cool person & you do NOT deserve this. ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))
from so-then-what :
It it were, you wouldn't be a fool. It sucks but you need to realize you want more (and frankly, you deserve more) than what he is giving you right now. I'm so sorry sweetie, hang in there.
from shinythings- :
I don't think he deserves you, sweetie. You're too, too good. Hopefully, he will realize soon that he's being an exquisite ass and that you deserve to be treated much better. :(
from coldandgray :
SO hard, GOD! I think he needs therapy, I mean, can't he see what he is doing? I think you have done the right thing & the best you could under the constrainst he created. It must be so aggravating, I wish I knew how to make it better.
from benzene :
Hey, I just read over my entry and I am so sorry if it sounded boastful in any way. The last thing I'd want to do is write something I know someone would read and might make them feel bad, so I wanted to apologize in advance if it was inappropriate given the situation you're in. Good luck with everything and I wish you all the best this holidays.
from coldandgray :
I am so sorry.
from coldandgray :
Oh Sweetie, I am sorry. Well, your website is decorated all lovely & cheery, I am glad to see that. Your situation is so hard & painful, I hate that it is happening. It is very confusing and hurtful. Sounds like he is just trying to make himself feel better by turning it around on you. I am glad you stood your ground and kept hold of some of the things he wanted. I am proud of you.
from itisntlove :
I think unconditional happiness in any situation is an impossibility, even and perhaps especially in love. I don't really know what to say, except that I hope things manage to turn out okay.
from benzene :
Dude, yeah, there were so many questions about plants and immunology (which I am NOT studying in grad school) that I couldn't even guess the answers for! I had to skip a huge portion. We'll see the results in six weeks, I guess. Good luck in December, and of course I hope everything works out with you and FF. I'm glad you were able to write about it. BTW, your post today made me think of a column called "Tell Me About It" that gives the best people advice I've ever read. Google it and check it out (plus there are long chat transcripts!). What would Carolyn say?
from coldandgray :
he can always make a profit by selling his house in a little while & be able to buy a much BIGGER house. Thanks again, sweets.
from coldandgray :
Wait a second...WHAT?!??! This is so odd, the whole thing. I would be crushed if my long time boyfriend just up and bought a house for himself. I am amazed that he is surprised you are not overjoyed for him. Hello? It is very possible that your relationship could grow stronger while living apart, but that house he bought is such a strange element, I just don't understand it. I am sorry it is so difficult, Hang in there.
from coldandgray :
Thanks for your very kind words, J, they mean a lot. I have been thinking of you and hoping things are getting better. I miss you.
from itisntlove :
*love*
from so-then-what :
shit! I'm so sorry. I'd go give you a hug and Ben&Jerry therapy but I'm too far away. Anything I can do though, just write.
from benzene :
:-( Don't quite know what to say...I'm really sorry. Chin up and all the best to you.
from coldandgray :
OH NO!! I AM SO SO SO SO SO SO SO sorry. Shit. That is a tough one, sweetie. I am glad you are taking this time to grieve. I hope you are doing OK. Thinking of you.
from coldandgray :
I am very jealous you got to go to the Banksy show. I bet Mac PREFERRED to go with the commoners.
from benzene :
Wow, this guy sounds awesome. I went to his website and looked at all his art. Thanks for introducing me to him! Did you see the NY Times article about the L.A. show? YOU SAW MACAULAY CULKIN?! @)#(%&#@)(%&#@)($* I'm so jealous!! Even though he, you know, melted down after all the fame went to his head...
from coldandgray :
BANKSY FRIGGING R U L E S !
from itisntlove :
last night, we were having a party, and one of the partygoers announced it right in the big middle of it. it was so sad. :(
from coldandgray :
All relationships have bumps & lumps. I hope yours gets smoothed out soon. So glad the test is over, I am sure you did great. Hopefully it will not be too stressful waiting around for the results.
from konzadiary :
Well of course you should have a happy anniversary. It would be pretty shitty of me to come here and wish you anything but. I also wish you two always retain the ability to make each other feel like the two of you are the most important thing in the world.
from benzene :
Go you and French Fitch! Happy anniversary!
from coldandgray :
happy anniversary! I love how you met, he sounds like an amazing guy and you have a good thing going there. It is important to have that kind of love and support in our lives.
from itisntlove :
happy anniversary! :)
from konzadiary :
You probably want to try the new thing I've started with telemarketers. Mine are pharmacy telemarketers since one time, years ago in a moment of insanity, my SO ordered herbal remedies on the internet. The phone must ring at least five times a day! Lately I've taken to grilling them about what company they are calling from, what is the phone number there and what is the mailing address. "You see", I explain to them patiently, "I'm trying to find the last company that shipped her 'product x' because she died right after taking it." It took three weeks, but this week the phone hasn't rung once...
from coldandgray :
Huge congrats on your graduation and the MCAT class. It is hard work & you should be proud of yourself.
from itisntlove :
that's a horrible dream. :( did you ever have the one where you got to the end of the semester and it was finals and you were looking at your exam schedule and realized you had been enrolled in this class all semester but had never gone?
from coldandgray :
NIGHTMARE! Good luck.
from coldandgray :
SOUL PATROL!!
from coldandgray :
How exciting, that kid is cute. Sorry about Elliot, but when you sing Journey you have to FEEL it!
from benzene :
Thanks!! It's so nice to hear from you! I'm sure you'll be fine with the talks, even without mind-altering substances. :-) Practicing the delivery at a slower-than-usual pace tends to work for me. Hey, you're graduating too right? If so, then I hope the school hunt has gone well! Later!
from coldandgray :
I was a telemarketer once for 6 hours, it is a hell job. I did hear a lot of interesting answering machine messages, though. We recently got on the DO NOT CALL LIST & it has significantly decreased the annoying calls.
from coldandgray :
ha ha! Actually, I don't really watch it, but that Hicks guy is different. If I go to Golden Girls night, I will have to dress up as Bea Arthur!
from coldandgray :
sorry, I am all about the gray haired dude.
from coldandgray :
No, See I AM missing something. I did not know you could raise a child, so far it has been a lot of going to the bathroom, cleaning & eating. I will give it another go. THANKS!
from coldandgray :
What is with the weird weather this year? I am dying for some Spring! I just got Sims2 & I have to say, it has not hooked me yet like I was hoping it would. Please tell me what about it you love, because I am not sure I am playing it right.
from masala- :
Even if your favorite show is Wife Swap, I think your time is probably better spent watching that than listening to our president talk about pretty much anything. Totally jealous of your spring break. Glad you're back. :)
from coldandgray :
Glad you had a good trip, that sounds so fun, I am jealous (I need a REAL vacation). W is always good for giggle...a terrified, fist clenched giggle.
from benzene :
Wow, that reminds me of this Ph.D. candidate in two of my friends' labs. One of them once misplaced her lab book, and when she went to get it from the grad student she had to deal with, "Do you feel stupid now? [sigh] Un-der-grads..." Cut us a break, we've got brains too. (P.S. What's your lab studying?)
from masala- :
have you ever had wild geese burgers? they're tasty. ;)
from coldandgray :
I think you are handling this all so well. Your credentials are awesome, something great is going to happen for you, you just have to sweat it out for the time being. I somehow missed your Seattle post. How completely romantic. Glad you like my fair city.
from coldandgray :
FRICK! This stuff is SO hard. At least you get to be with F.F.
from benzene :
Hey...I'm really sorry about the news. Keep us updated and let me know if I can be of any help. Best of luck to you and FF, and hang in there!!
from so-then-what :
Oh honey, I'm so sorry. Rejection sucks. Have your pity party and invite Ben & Jerry. I'll be here sending terrible thoughts to the people that created that awful exam.
from coldandgray :
I'll give you Anderson Cooper, but the rest of the beefcakes give me the giggles!
from jonathan29 :
Thanks for the note! I have been wondering how you are doing! As luck would have it, I was making conversation with my date, and out of the blue he made the admission that he is in recovery, albeit for something else, but recovery is recovery. So I came clean as well, and it was a wonderful date. :)
from not-tuesday :
lol, thanks!!
from coldandgray :
ARG! Aint it just the way. Feel better!
from masala- :
Old ladies dressed like that in the 80s. To be honest, when my grandma gets dressed up, she still dresses like that.
from nicksmile :
Of Course. I Just Need To Fix Something First:) I Love Your Diary, It Makes Me Smile!
from so-then-what :
i LOVED "American gladiators", Nitro? oh yes baby!
from coldandgray :
R.I.P. rats... Omarosa lives in your building? She CRAZY! I agree with you about religion. I am hopeful that Brokeback Mountain will have a wider release. It is only playing at a tiny arthouse theater in Seattle right now...
from masala- :
Yeah. I don't know if I've mentioned this, but one of my good friends is going through a similar thing with her boyfriend too. He's going to have to move away for med school most likely, and they've been together for three years. It's really stressful. Anyhow, it's beginning to look like he's not going to get accepted anywhere so... He may get to stay after all, only I don't know how great that is, either. =\ I don't know about my ex and his girl. I'm kind of curious to see how it will all play out. Six months is a lot longer than it seems like...I don't know if they've even been dating that long. I don't know. I hate how everyone moves off in college. It really, really sucks.
from masala- :
Good luck, brotha man. I've got your back.
from coldandgray :
the holidays barfed all over your site, I love it! I especially like the jesus shopping.
from masala- :
I scream at inanimate objects all of the time. *blink*
from coldandgray :
I totally frigging understand about the sweater and the screaming and the stress.
from coldandgray :
Something will work out for you & school & FF, but it will wait until the last minute just to freak you out. Be proud of yourself for working so damn hard.
from uridium15 :
holy shit, happy fucking halloween!
from autumnrein :
Hey Josh. I added you to my other journal that I have. (McKushla) It is too stressful to write in two journals-lol. So I thought I'd just let ya know if you wanted to add that to your list. Hope you are doing well. -Andrea
from autumnrein :
What is your first name? I hate not knowing people's names. I am very sorry about your MCAT scores. Very very sorry. I know how much that meant to you. There are still chances though. You could even take it again if you wanted to (yes I know that's awfully stressful to do.) But I wouldn't give up just yet. Keep writing. I still read. Things have just been....crazy where I am. I'm sorry. I wish you all the luck in the world. Take care. Do not be too hard on yourself. -Andrea
from nurseouch :
Sometimes things happen for a reason even tho they seem shitty at the time. Anyhoo.. good luck with it all.
from masala- :
Oh my god, I KNOW!!! The thing w/ K is that he's already gotten into the program once. Why does he have to get in AGAIN? It's not like he's failing out or anything either. :*( Everytime I read one of your posts, my heart completely goes out to you. I hope things somehow manage to work for you and French Fitch. School is evil. Completely evil. :(
from masala- :
Ha! I could use another drinking buddy. All of mine keep moving to other states! Wah!
from masala- :
*hug*
from rosedreaming :
OH sweetie, I'm so sorry. Really...
from coldandgray :
Oh baby, I am so sorry! It will work out. It HAS to. You will make it happen.
from coldandgray :
OH NO! Say it aint so! Oh, U.C! That is one freaking crazy hard test.
from masala- :
Good luck, chico! I'll have my fingers and toes crossed for you.
from coldandgray :
I am so freaked for you. It will be nice to just KNOW, huh? I have a sneaky suspicion everything will be OK.
from masala- :
people make grades higher than c's in o chem? *stunned*
from benzene :
Ha ha! You had me wondering there for a bit. :-) For a *real* article about evolution vs. creationism, check out www.nytimes.com/2005/10/06/science/sciencespecial2/06canyon.html. How's that for controversial?
from benzene :
Hey, you might want to read this article: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/39512 Yay for satire! Enjoy!
from coldandgray :
IMPEACH!!!! (thank you for the nice words) IMPEACH!!!!!
from masala- :
How embarrassing. Why did people vote for him again?
from autumnrein :
Thank you:-)
from coldandgray :
Oh My God! You survived. Honestly UC, that would have killed me, but you DID IT! Please relax, celebrate and enjoy yourself, you deserve it.
from masala- :
Good luck! :)
from coldandgray :
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA YIIIIIIIIIIIIYEEEE YOU CAN DO EEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! That is me being simultaneously excited and freaked out for you. I know you will do great. WOO!
from benzene :
Hey, just wanted to let you know that you've got someone on the East Coast rooting for you on Saturday. :-) You totally deserve an awesome score and you're going to get it! Good luck!
from autumnrein :
I'm SO glad you wrote me that note! I was debating about whether I should keep all of my stuff. (I really want to burn it-lol). I wish you THE BEST of luck on your day for the MCAT. You want it badly enough I think, so I'm sure you'll do just fine. You'll get in:-) -Andrea
from caela :
Hey there, thanks for the birthday wishes. And I hate organic chemistry too. I hope the test goes well for you, good luck!
from almostnormal :
What a great twist on an old favorite! Thanks for the joke!
from coldandgray :
Thank, UC. We are headed for the Canadian rockies in a few minutes, can't wait. and yes, Death to stupid people!!!!
from proudnomad :
hey i just clicked on your ad...and i was also writing about the population of idiots and the injustice therein today. check it out if you're interested...
from so-then-what :
see the irony in my last note? do you? i'm awsome
from so-then-what :
Be afraid, be very afarid. The world is full of stupid people and they are breeding!!
from masala- :
Awww...happy anniversary! :)
from benzene :
Aww...judging from the number of people who leave you notes, you *clearly* have more than 3 loyal readers. :-) Good luck with the lab work, and have fun on your vacation!
from konzadiary :
Ah, nope. Haven't told her about the tit sucking. Have no *intention* of *ever* telling her about the tit sucking. But I had to share it with someone, so I told all of you...
from masala- :
Haha! Congrats on the As! :)
from konzadiary :
Thanks for finishing the b-day story and for making me roll with hysterical laughter (as if my dream didn't already do that today). I just L*O*V*E* your rant on judging by numbers. We could apply that to all the TV shows we've ever loved that have been cancelled! We could apply that to speeding tickets! Heck, we could apply your argument to just about anything in life since it's all about the numbers, baby! Vegas! Paychecks! Sexual experiences!...I have to go print your entry and keep a copy in my purse so I can quote it at will...L*O*V*E*Y*O*U*
from coldandgray :
Congrats on your A+ ASS.
from coldandgray :
Stress-FULL! Good luck on the MCAT! Twist that fate.
from coldandgray :
I heard it from you FIRST! I am actually surprised he was found not guilty, but I don't think he would have survived any other verdict, because man, they would have taken his wig away in jail.
from so-then-what :
June 10. I was going to say: Oh, you are a softy! and *then* I read the final paragraph. Men! ;)
from konzadiary :
Ok, it's Thursday now. Finish the birthday story...
from masala- :
Meh. I like over-dramatics. I'm glad everything's fine now. *grin* And I'm planning on staying at UT for my masters. When it came right down to it, I didn't have the dinero for USC, and I'm not sure I'm ready for California. But...I'm very excited. I love Austin. Thank you for asking. :)
from masala- :
Awwww... I can completely understand why you're hurt. Even if it was unintentional, it's perfectly reasonable that you'd want to be with him. The surprise you had planned...that's so cute and sweet. I wish I had you for a boyfriend. Hehe. I hope you didn't worry yourself too much, and I hope the rest of French Fitch's birthday is as good as you hoped it would be.
from coldandgray :
Wow, U.C., thank you so much for your sweet comment, I appreciate it so much. and I am sorry for your own current dealings with loss.
from konzadiary :
So you're telling me I have to try to set the record in my Hummer now? I can do that, it's the official vehicle of the Kansas Militia...
from coldandgray :
Sad, but true, it does not pay to be nice. That is why I got a flip phone for my cell, so I can slap it shut after a bad call with soap opera flare.
from konzadiary :
Catching up on your entries...The Missus and I still exchange mash notes after ten years together. I hide cards in her luggage when she goes away on business and she hides notes in the coffee canister or under my pillow or even in the pockets of my jeans for me to come across during my day. Last week I shook things up and hid a card in the planner she uses to take notes during business trips and when she opened it in her meeting and saw the card, she slammed the planner closed---yeah, like anyone can tell from an plain white envelope that it contains a mash note from YOUR LESBIAN LOVER!!!!! I guess I really took her by surprise that time...Yes, being in the paper is nice. I make my podunk town's paper all the time. I participate in their reader panels and people constantly say, "I saw you in the paper." It's a great ego booster!...And now I'm all caught up on your entries. Are you doing summer school or are you having some 'young & carefree' time?
from fiendling :
Dude, I'm leaving for the US tomorrow. What's your email address and such? Did your cellphone number change? Anyway, email me or something at glitterfiendling at hotmail dot com. Leave your email address and such. - Sheryl
from so-then-what :
great, now i am jelous of you and your french amore.
from so-then-what :
exactly, that IS mean. Please do tell...
from coldandgray :
That's mean, now I am dying to know WHO?!?!
from benzene :
by the way what are you studying?
from benzene :
Yup, the UM library website will tell you if there's an online edition available, so I got a whole bunch sitting on my butt too. :-) The rest I had to get from the actual journals themselves. Guess there wasn't that much demand for articles about oysters and bird calls. Darn. But I'll check out J-Stor in the future. Thanks!
from coldandgray :
Wow, that guy was a real ass.
from masala- :
Eek! What a creep! That is exceptionally dysfunctional... Wow.
from uridium15 :
you are of the interesting variety.
from autumnrein :
Do not panic. It is only a practice exam. Those who take it the first time only usually end up getting an 8.-lol Did you know that? I would suggest if your future rests on the MCAT and you want to really and truely become a doctor, I'd fork over the money and take the review course by kaplan or princeton (if you haven't already). It is almost guarenteed that if you take that course you'll score AT LEAST 28 or higher on the real exam. Also, Thermodynamics is also covered in general chemistry, not just physics. At least it was in our courses. Thinking highly of yourself is a good thing. Thinking hopelessly is a bad thing. (and yes I am a hypocrit as I say this). But...positive thoughts bring positive things:-) Andrea
from masala- :
Awww... I'm sorry that it went so badly. :( How long do you have before you have to take them again? I'm sure that you'll eventually get everything you need to know, and it's not your fault if you've never even been introduced to a lot of those concepts. Try and keep your chin up, and maybe look into taking a prep course? :) I'm sure everything will turn out alright. You seem pretty darned smart to me, so...
from konzadiary :
I had a friend who sued her college when she couldn't pass the exams she needed to pass. Now they DID deliver her a sub-standard education and she got all her tuition money refunded, but that still didn't help passing exams, did it.
from konzadiary :
I don't know why I'm laughing about Bohemian Curry because it's too fucking soon for me to be laughing about it. See, I got food poisoning this week. And the thing I ate for lunch, which was the meal before the meal where I got food poisoning, well that thing would be CURRIED CHICKEN. Now I thought curry was difficult (at best) when it exits the body in the normal manner. It's even more difficult when it decides to pull a 180 and exit through the in-door.
from so-then-what :
Happy blogaversay! (it IS a real world. IT IS! oh, just shut up.)
from konzadiary :
It's way ok to go nucking futs every once in a while. I think if I was still there and we got that much rain, I would be one of those freeway snipers we used to get every couple of years. I remember how bad my commute was when the weather was PERFECT. btw, I found o-bar's website to be pretentious and over the top (I am *dying* to go there).
from masala- :
amen.
from love-fatal :
you're a funny kid. i like you.
from konzadiary :
btw, guess what I just discovered in the podunk town that's just down the road from my podunk town: http://www.xcaliburclub.com/
from konzadiary :
Still haven't had time to try the emulator, but it's on my list. Just started raining here too, but I don't think we've had as much rain in three years as you west coasters have had this season. Enjoy it while you can, they'll be screaming drought again before you can say water rationing!
from konzadiary :
Ok, I kinda like the life in reverse thing. And when you find something that emulates Atari's River Raid and Sea Quest on the PC, for God's sake, LET ME KNOW.
from autumnrein :
Lol. I happen to be a tree hugger. I am only one person though:-) -Andrea
from dc3caliboi :
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. ;-) This note, of course, is in reference to your "your picture."
from konzadiary :
Okay, okay, okay. I've updated. And I really feel better for having done it. Sort of like taking a nice, healthy crap. I should take one more often. Thanks for kicking my butt into gear.
from rosedreaming :
Oh, Puddin Pop, I've been in the theatre too long and known too many drag queens. I've seen more gay jock than a San Fran bath house.
from rosedreaming :
What I like best about the photo is that guy is about 30.
from konzadiary :
Been away; back now; all caught up on your entries. I will take the tornado warning over no earthquake warning time and time again.~~~I live 1/2 mile from the Oz museum and you can't wear the slippers even if you want to, their MINE (for in case I ever do tire of Kansas and decide to return to SoCal).~~~Haven't updated me in ages, but hope to find the time soon.~~~You are still SO funny.
from fuschiashock :
i think paris hilton is one of the ugliest women i've ever seen. i saw an interview where she said that she was smart and the way she acts on the simple life is acting a role, but i don't buy that. i liked that alanis morisette song when i was in grade 4.
from masala- :
That's why I always by the cheapie pens that come 50 to a pack for 10 cents. Not only are they big enough that you can't leave them, but they are also cheap! Cheap = love
from masala- :
Now, that is sexy. Hope you get to feeling better!
from so-then-what :
c'mon!! you know you'd love to wear those glittery red slippers! just admit it already! good luck w/ your tornado
from masala- :
I didn't realize they had that sort of weather in California. Well, I hope you live to tell about it...
from benzene :
Hey there! If it's any comfort, it's going to be a looong night for me too. Watch me try to cram 6 more chapters of cell bio into my head. (Which is why I'm on here reading people's diaries.) Oh man. Good luck with your last exam, set five alarm clocks and you'll be good to go! =)
from konzadiary :
Gift cards or cash are a-ok with me. I'm really picky, and most of the people I know are really picky, so unless someone's given me an sku number, I feel more confident with the bucks than anything else. Good luck with the books!
from masala- :
I've always preferred gift cards. Or cash. Mmm....cash... *salivates*
from konzadiary :
Heh, heh. Sometimes I told you so are just the sweetest words. When you are saying them...not when someone else is saying them to you.
from masala- :
Your entries always make me so happy. :) Merry Christmas!
from autumnrein :
I LOVE your Christmas decorations! Very...Christmasy-lol.-Andrea
from dc3caliboi :
Ew. Just. Ew. Yeah. I think EW about covers it. Ha! Come visit me at Borders!
from benzene :
Hey what's up? Just wanted to say that I got your diary from masala's link and I'm a regular reader. And I was all proud of myself for getting the Hamlet reference. I'm no Idiot Girl! =) G'luck with classes!
from konzadiary :
Hmmm. I don't think the milkshake song is getting any play here in the heartland, but at least the straight guys in LA will get up and move, here they just dot the perimeter of the room and hold up the walls. If you see a guy dancing here, he's definitely gay.
from masala- :
Hehe, thanks for the advice! You're such a sweetie!
from dc3caliboi :
"Milkshake" is a song by Kelis in case you didn't know. And it isn't only a straight club thing. When that song was popular it was all up in the gay clubs like crazy.
from masala- :
It's okay. Calm down. Barring the end of the world, everything should be...okay. Maybe. Eep.
from konzadiary :
I so miss WeHo. And I am laughing my ass off reading your entries. I'm starting to find all sorts of lesbians in this little town, but the gay men are all over 50 and BORING! Except for the cross dresser I saw at an auction when I first moved here, but I haven't seen her/him since then...Thanks for reminding me gay men can be fun too. And the moral here darling is: don't get old. Ever.
from masala- :
I would, but I've decided that I think I'll stay for the next four years and try to kick some stupid people ass. ;) Thank you.
from dc3caliboi :
Congrats! I was at (your) dream college store buying shoes this afternoon. they're quite spiffy. saturday i'm off to a halloween party and sunday i'll be in weho. oh joy!
from jonathan29 :
Oh dear...is 7:30 AM extra early? LOL...I get up at 5 AM every morning. Feel sorry for me.
from autumnrein :
Haaa, you're right! I guess I am a believer. I just...sometimes wish I had somthing concrete to believe in. I don't always like being in the middle on things. I think that maybe i'd like to take the extreme on certain things. Course...maybe i could take the extreme on being in the middle-haaa. Who knows. Thanks for your note:-) Andrea
from masala- :
I wouldn't worry about it too much. It has been my experience that, in general, nothing of any great importance gets said in the first 30 minutes of class, even when there is a regular lecture...
from dc3caliboi :
The Archive older entries over <<< is a wonderful thing. Hint hint. Wink Wink. I'm glad you're at Dream College. You're a good read because of it. :) Love you much boy!
from caela :
Hee hee hee! That was a good Stupid Person story. Don't you just hate people like that?? I sympathize, for sure.
from caela :
Aww, thanks for the happy wishes! :)
from dc3caliboi :
It's always been my understanding that a fag hag is, more or less, not very, shall we say, uh, attractive. So she hangs around with gay guys because that's the only male attention she can get. Fruit Flys are the opposite, I guess. They don't have problems landing a guy, they just love fags more. Just my 2 cents.
from dc3caliboi :
I sense you aren't searching high and low for a cyber-cafe. for shame! That's OK. I just hope there's a full report when you get home.
from masala- :
Carrie is really whiney. And she was really... I don't know. Paranoid? The first two seasons are definitely hard for me to go back and watch. While Big was not exactly Mr. Wonderful, I didn't think his behavior warranted half the craziness Miss Bradshaw responded with. I think she drank too much in the first couple of seasons. *nods* Anywho...
from dc3caliboi :
gah! start school already! are you rushing a frat? love you boy! :)
from sfaboi :
I love that show. I never realized that she whined that much until you pointed it out, but I think everyone is like that. Never happy. I always bitch about not having enough money.
from masala- :
I'm not pissed. They're all really pretty and all look very similar. :) Hehe, funny story about your dream. Maybe it's prophetic! Oooh...
from so-then-what :
where have i been? adjusting to life in the largest city of the world after living in the first world, it's a sad sad thing. Man, i swear i will write you an e-mail with the history about Luis Miguel and if you want to know what the (really handsome) guy says in his songs just ask: se habla espaol :)
from so-then-what :
Luis Miguel? you are talking about the mexican guy? is he known in the U.S.? that's weird
from not-tuesday :
I'm Still Standing is one I play over and over too. Along with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
from masala- :
I don't like Kerry, either, but the other option has made me seriously consider making Canada my new homeland.
from dc3caliboi :
hey! still at camp but in town and online just checking in and all. love you boy! :) hope to see you soon. or at least read about you online HaHa
from masala- :
Oooh, Sex and the City. I am so disappointed with the TBS version. In the episode where their crazy friend who has moved to the suburbs gets pregnant, there were no breasts, and I was completely put out because I knew there should have been breasts... And I know there will be tons of other things that will be cut out, too. Like Samantha's bright orange bush and probably a lot of the really great sex scenes and I've heard "abso-fucking-lutely" has been cut, which...totally mutilates one of my favorite lines from the entire first season... Um. *cough* Yeah. I have no life outside of television for the duration of the summer... Meh. The jackass on the telephone who called asking you which number he dialed totally deserved whatever he got. Good for you for telling him off...that's what he gets for being an idiot at 8 AM.
from jonathan29 :
LOL....8AM for me like noon. Oh, I wish I was you! :)
from autumnrein :
Haaaaaaa!!!! This is the first time all day that I've actually smiled and laughed. (stressful day today) Your entry was hilarious. God if I had people calling me like that I'd take the fricken phone off the hook-lol. Jeez. Andrea<----hates the telephone:-)
from autumnrein :
Thank you for the note! I actually think I did pretty well. I'm sooo glad it's over with. Hope everthing's going well for you. Take care! Andrea
from iamaparadox :
you make me laugh out loud
from caela :
BWA-HA-HAAAA! It's good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks about stupid stuff like that. :)
from masala- :
My favorite season of Buffy was, I think, the third season. When Angel turned bad? I'm a sucker for love gone afoul and that sort of thing. I cried so much in that very last episode, that my mom seriously thought someone I knew had died... I kind of wish he'd never come back...
from autumnrein :
yes. I have a feeling that if he gets reelected he won't make it through the full four years. Someone is bound to take a shot at him. (I'd be surprised if they don't.) Take care! Andrea
from autumnrein :
I wrote about Fahrenheit 9/11 in my journal, if you'd like to read what i thought about it. In summary, I don't know how much of the movie was accurate, but I thought it was well done. Take care:-) -Andrea
from jonathan29 :
I was just reading your diary when I got your note. My BF loves Adam Sandler movies. I on the other hand would rather be tortured than endure one.
from jonathan29 :
Adam Sandler and Tom Green get on my last nerve too. I'd sooner have bamboo shoved under my fingernails than watch either one of them.....
from masala- :
Oooh! Felicity is awesome! But, yeah, completely f-ed up perspective on college. But it still makes me so happy. I wish college were really like that...
from masala- :
I actually kind of like Adam Sandler. He was really good...at least in the movies with Drew Barrymore. *slinks away in shame*
from autumnrein :
Hehe, I love reading your journal. I loved your entry on Farenheit 9/11. I don't like Bush either, and I'm anxious to see that movie. I wish you congrats on your getting out of one of your colleges, and I hope you fulfill all of the items on your "To do list before I'm 30." Enjoy your summer! -Andrea
from myhappiness2 :
Lucky you, I hope you get to enjoy that "its over" feeling for a while. Have a great summer.
from dc3caliboi :
Your last entry was Weds. It is now Friday. Am I to assume you are now done with finals? If you are, YAY!
from iamaparadox :
good luck on finals! :)
from caela :
Whee, hang in there! It'll be over soon! :)
from masala- :
Glad everything worked out for you with the professor. Good luck on your finals!
from masala- :
Have you tried making an appointment to talk with your professor one-on-one about why he might report your group for academic dishonesty? If he does report you and he won't be reasonable about it, I would definitely consider going to talk to your Ombudsman (or similar position at your university) or even just to the department heads. That has to be absolutely awful, though. Good luck with getting everything cleared up.
from so-then-what :
you are SUCH A GEEK!! I like you :)
from dc3caliboi :
Must you rain on my Fantasia's parade? Sheesh! I kid. I kid. What a note! ;)
from rosedreaming :
awwww....what a sweetpea. thanks for the note. i do have a few worst enemies i will not be embracing however. but thanks pookie!
from rosedreaming :
if you weren't a gay man i'd ask you to marry me. thanks hun, great entry.
from sfaboi :
At one time Houston was like that. Houston use to be dirty and downtown was rough. I was afraid to go, but now it is in a transition. I actually lived in what use to be the ghetto and I paid 1200 for my apartment (that is high for the area). You can thank the gay people b/c that area is growning because we make it so fabulous!
from dc3caliboi :
For the record... I *do* vote... and have every week since Fantasia did "Summertime." BTW, I so didn't know you followed 'Idol.' Color me surprised. :)
from fiendling :
Congrats!!
from jonathan29 :
I am very, very happy for you! :)
from caela :
Yaaay! Congratulations! :)
from dc3caliboi :
i saw that sue movie. right after i saw soldiers girl in fact. showtime is doing another trans special like monday at 9pm or something.
from rosedreaming :
You should have told the prof. there was a shitty comedy bar nearby and he could leave his crappy humor there when you go back to jr. high.
from iamaparadox :
yes, damn those period days!
from parlance :
I hate those kind of days when you're just like "Mehlng" and you can't get the motivation to move.
from iamaparadox :
I had a dream once that the roof above me opened up and all these dead rats started falling on me so I woke up and saw my dog's foot which I thought was a mouse at the time. I started freaking out and ran out of my room sreaming that there was a mouse in my bed. Haha, good times, eh?
from silverbiker :
haha..seriously what is this world coming to!? lol! that william hung kid..hilarious..but i know he's trying to make a living so i respect that..
from rosedreaming :
Hey, I really liked your "war" entry. It's sort of what I was trying to get at in mine, but I got angry and my grasp of english started to fail me. Stop by my diary any old time.
from dustyrain :
you're fuckin amusing.
from fiendling :
It's pretty easy to do. You just have to see where the light and the shadows are and trace. I was thinking of doing one for your layout picture, but I can't think of what you would like. Obviously you don't want a Matrix-themed or a girly one. I do a lot of girly ones.
from caela :
Hey! Nice cover. As long as it doesn't take TOO much time away from your schoolwork, I say go for it! It's obviously something you enjoy, and if you can make money doing it, we envy you. :)
from jonathan29 :
one more thing...please excuse my poor grammar and missing words in my last note to you. Gimme a break. It's 5:15 AM. :)
from jonathan29 :
I just caught the entry about the animal plushy lovers. Did you see that episode of True Life on MTV where they following a guy to a plushy convention? There were hundreds of men and women there dressed up in animal costumes (it looked like Disneyland). The best part was when the guy hooked up with a girl and off they went to his hotel room dressed in their full garb. I laughed my ass. Oh, and props for telling the guy that Halloween is in October. :)
from dc3caliboi :
Please e-mail my pictures *before* you photoshop the hell out of them. Thanks. I think he took 2. Hopefully at least one came out half way decent. Please give Tarzan my regards.
from fiendling :
What, you mean you didn't know about furries and plushies before this? Oh god, they are just... real creepy. And they're just all over deviantArt and LiveJournal with their lame furry porn (yeah, dogs/cats with huge penises etc.). Apparently they believe they are foxes/wolves/bears/cats/ravens/dragons 'in spirit'. Ahhh... I should just write about this in an entry.

Hello doll, I just wanted to tell you that I enjoy your little diary and your fun sense of humor. Feel free to pop by mine anytime. Its still very much a work in progress.
from madenpi :
oh my god! i used to be addicted to the sims! thats all i did for like most of the summer. hey i was wondering...where did you want to go with your bio degree?
from jonathan29 :
What is step one of the ho-bags anon 12 step program? Admitting you have a problem? I've already done that. I'm ready for step 2 I think.
from sumsimplegrl :
Aw! You are just too sweet! And you're totally right about working. I need to get my ass in gear and become government slave's like the rest of the world. Not unless I meet me a wealthy hunk who just wants me to be his own personal slave. *drools*
from fiendling :
dude! I can't put you first. I'm first, and it goes in order of importance, not alphabetical. You have you put me first! I'm still ashre!
from so-then-what :
ja ja, that is the whole point of not saying where i am fromor where i am right now. I think is better that way, less prejudice i suppose.
from jonathan29 :
You need to email me and give me your AIM name, yahoo IM, etc., so I can message you sometime. My email is [email protected]. :)
from jonathan29 :
LOL....Lord have mercy, are you trying to scare me to death? :)
from so-then-what :
sorry, i think i was not clear, you use cigarrete ashes that are cold (or cool or whatever the word is) and you use them as if you were exfoliating your skin and it works, the girl that colors my mom hair does it (yes, i know, i come from a weird weird place)
from iamaparadox :
I completley agree with you! The entire joking around thing is absolutley ridiculous. Yes, that's all I have to say!
from madenpi :
YAY!! I love you for this entry. People have become dependent on blaming EVERYTHING and EVERYONE else other than themselves for anything. Its so stupid. People twist things around and call racism. I work at a restaurant and hostesses seat people according to a chart and one day some black customers complained that the host was seating racially because coincidentally the server was black and her whole section happened to be black so they left. It was hilarious! I do believe that some racism still exist; however, I think that people who feel that they are being discriminated against are the ones contributing to the problem!!! SOMETIMES PEOPLE JUST SUCK ON THE INSIDE!! Maybe if you called your African American friend a dick he might think that you called him that because stereotypically they have big dicks and youre being racist!! hahaha
from fiendling :
It's "the pot calling the kettle RUSTY" don't you know? ;)
from jonathan29 :
Lord have mercy, I could not agree with you more. Perhaps I'm just being a typical WASPy boy from the burbs, but I just don't understand LOOKING for things to get offended by. I mean really...if someone is going to be a zealot, at least do it challenging real issues. Have a good weekend, you...
from fiendling :
Damn. I actually wrote this in my own notes first. Too used to LiveJournal's comment system. Anyway, "Nonsense, I'm still known as ashre, I sign off guestbook entries and emails as ashre. Fiendling is more of a title than a name. Like you're Mr Twinkles, but you named your diary urbancadence, doesn't mean your name is Urban Cadence, it's Mr Twinkles. So just put me down as ashre (aka fiendling) or whatever and put me first!"
from caela :
Ah, organic chemistry. It is my nemesis, too. I am an analytical chemist. :)
from so-then-what :
probably you don't have a black forehead anymore but if you do try srubing it with cigarrette ashes, i swear it works
from fiendling :
dude. I've dyed my hair so many times and that has NEVER happened to me. And I have so much more hair than you do. What's the problem man, do you have palsy or something? Can't hold the bottle properly? *snark*
from caela :
Ohhh! Poor you. Just so that you feel better, know that you're not the only one who's found themselves in that situation! I somehow managed to dye a good portion of my face BLACK a few years ago as I was trying to make my hair black for hallowe'en. Luckily, it WAS for hallowe'en so I was able to fake a costume around it, and it didn't last long. But yeah, it sucked.
from fiendling :
Heh... funny phone stories. Shouldn't be laughing, but DAMN, funny. :) Maybe his phone has a crush on your phone and your phones are just talking. Also, why am I AFTER 'Club Girls' on your cast list? I should be first!
from jonathan29 :
OMG...I am so glad you said it first. Not that I like Shannen Doherty, fuck no, but Charmed does suck since she left. It went from being more Bewitched to more like an episode of Mutant X. I watch it of course...LOL...but it's just not the same as it was back in the day. :)
from caela :
Haha! That's a riot. But those are just the geeky loser chemists. You have to find the *cool* chemists. ;)
from not-tuesday :
Great name, great banner, great layout.
from caela :
Hey, I did a degree in chemistry and I still managed to have some fun, AND pass! If I can do it, so you can you. :) You don't have to be an artsie to have a good time. If you're bored, go make some friends in the chemistry department. Chemists have the best parties EVER. Seriously.
from fiendling :
Soporific?? wow. big word. Also, do not despair! Take heart in the fact that when you graduate, you will be making bucketloads of stinky, sweaty cash, and the art/music majors will get NOTHING. Sort of like me. Anyway, do you still want a layout? Yours looks pretty fine.
from lowkey-d :
oh thanks for leaving the message! i love getting new people to my buddylist, people that i don't know and such, it's all about connections, i just didn't realize that you added me, so you'll be added to my list soon yeah, the break up is a bummer, i'm been trying to work through it, but it has mostly been sticking to the back of my head, but i have to make so many adjustments since i live with him
from madenpi :
hey! thanks for checking out my diary. quite frankly i didnt think anyone would. im getting into your diary too. while browsing through diaryland, i wanted to read a diary from beginning to end and yours just happened to be like ten entries. lookin' forward for what's next.
