from cannet :

from jpop :
hey thanks! also a thought about the global catastrophe you believe yer children will see-today at work my boss said she felt another minor earthquake up here the other day (im in washington state right now)...theres always talk about rainier or something else blowing up and the kids practice cascadia earthquake drills...ive never felt a quake here but damn, lets hope its not that that plunges the western seaboard into obsoleteness
from dangerspouse :
And why can't you now? Does mommyhood take up even that much time?
from despierto :
thinking about being horrible doesn't automatically mean you are. it just means you are thinking too much!
from jpop :
dude youre a great person, no worries on that front.
from jimbostaxi :
Yeah im one of those people who all of a sudden started missing someone i havent talked to in years. But i almost never act on those feelings because it usually doesnt turn out well.
from despierto :
i like your mr. rogers dream.
from cannet :
Do you want to be known? And are you talking about fame or honesty?
from weknowweknow :
Can I ask who that entry was about? There was so much drawing mystery in it. I can't quell my curiosity.
from stepfordtart :
How's your mum? (see my diary of you want to know why Im asking). Hope she's doing fine. s x
from panzuda :
:D
from despierto :
first thing i thought of when i read "heartbeat" is fetus.......
from despierto :
it is frustrating waking up in the middle of the night and not feeling like you got a good rest. but at the same time, isn't it great being up and aware when you aren't usually? i love seeing what the world feels like. i love how quiet it is at 3 or 4. (this is christina, btw.)
from leotard :
I know the feeling. But I think you did the right thing. Better to risk being assertive than to risk becoming resentful.
from cannet :
great quote from dworkin. i am looking the author up to read more. also, from an earlier post, i think in life we're allowed to be little children too.
from thebid :
oh, i actually don't write in thebid. haven't for years. which is why it is locked. now it is just for me. i write at despierto.diaryland.com. there's a link at my blog. :)
from panzuda :
pittsburgh pa!
from panzuda :
lactose intolerance has to do with digestion of milk proteins and is probably the cause of your tummy ache. some people get gnarly diarrhea! sick!
from thebid :
what dreams!?!?
from adelie :
Hannah, I just saw your notes you left on my leotard account and wanted to say thank you. Sometimes I forget that there are a (very) select few who read the stuff I write there. In good news, I got my purse back! I think maybe my luck is turning around. I hope you are well.
from feebriel :
http://www.explodingdog.com/37svn/pants.gif They are not white, but the feeling is there. Enjoy your pants, good sir.
from jpop :
maybe your pledge should include chris allman art shows.
from cannet :
i think i am obsessed with nakedness. not in a perverted way but in an "i am a free child" kind of way.
from despierto :
also, you all should come up to slc for dinner sometime. also, i might be down next weekend (conference and all). there is a very good chance i will be baking a lot, which means people will need to come over and help eat dessert!
from despierto :
only if i could do it in the nude....
from despierto :
probably listening to the same song means you're thinking about me and wishing i would wash your dogs for you.
from despierto :
i just read your "Narnicles" entry again, and it made me laughlaughlaugh!!!
from cannet :
what have you failed in? also, please please please email me the link to that random persons picture & interview! i am SO curious! (also, i think that you are just great)
from panzuda :
we are actually going to be actual literal neighbors in just a few weeks. woazaya!
from thebid :
by "spencer's music" i mean music he created. not his entire music collection. just in case there was any confusion. heh.
from thebid :
yes, narnicles! sheer brilliance. ps. i'm sorry i am not playing scrabulous--oh, i guess i shouldn't be conducting facebook business on diaryland. also, is there a way i can aquire some or all of spencer's music? i can pay, of course! or send him a handmade book.
from paperfriend :
narnicles is pretty funny. it makes it feel almost dirty. like testicles. even though we also have tentacles and icicles, testicles casts a big shadow.
from sevenflowers :
narnicles is pretty funny. it makes it feel almost dirty. like testicles. even though we also have tentacles and icicles, testicles casts a big shadow.
from panzuda :
i agree! i no longer feel that it is as bad as i once did.
from panzuda :
none of us want others to know our private/embarassing/defeated experiences but at the same time is is so hard to know what is normal. or what things that seem bad are not so bad and what things are actually funnier than they are serious. maybe.
from hold-it :
have been?! I cannot think. My grammar is pretty bad lately
from hold-it :
I was wondering where you had been! congratulations on a stellar week!
from mymess :
it is good to reflect, i think. i am glad when i have friends that reflect in this way, hold themselves accountable for the past to learn now, in the present. for a better future! oh man oh man!
from jpop :
yeah. so good. everytime they are in anything it is golden.
from workorders :
so write a book already!
from panzuda :
it is true! we are moving to provo to be closer to work. i don't know if we will be neighbors but we can hang out all the time if you want!
from lux-fiat :
Dear Hannah: this is Carolyn with a new diary!
from emptyhouse :
Hannah, I have just been catching up on diaryland this morning and am truly delighting in reading yours most of all. I'd honestly forgotten what it meant to have a place for introspection as well as life updates. I don't know if you will even see this note, so I should email you. It makes me want to open up my diary and use it again, but I really dislike that dland is searchable via google (this was my main motivation for switching to the wretched lj, in addition to the added screening utilities).
from cannet :
thank you darlin'!
from hold-it :
yeah I bet, "Underwear" and "Experimental Music" don't get you in the guts.
from miobravo :
that is so strange that we all have colds but we didn't even know it! i think mine has turned into a sinus infection. watch out! see you at the health center yo.
from adelie :
Hannah, I think I'm starting to feel better. Thank you for letting me borrow Lucas. It was so good to watch. And I wanted to tell you that the duet that you and Spencer did the other night was so nice!!! I loved hearing you guys sing together. It was beautiful. What song was that?
from jpop :
hannah! i was wanting to see a lot more people then i did,and i am sad about that! but next time i will lay in bed with you and spencer, talking about the old days and the future!
from lovaliss :
Sounds good to me. I'll help move Courtney if needed. I'm flexible, just tell me where to go, what to do and who to pay...I sound like a cheap whore.
from lovaliss :
It will probably be a week from today. But I'm going to be in Provo with my car and stuff Weds. I'm leaving my car in Provo and riding with my brother to WY for a few more days, thus me moving in Sunday! Is that alright?
from gigihodges :

from hold-it :
let's have a million of them and start a summer camp! (babies that is)
from hold-it :
i have been listening to joan baez today! all morning actually- more specifically, DIAMONDS AND RUST! i am going to text you about it right now...
from jpop :
i really like that doc!
from hold-it :
pittsburgh baby! or somewhere else!
from jpop :
i think it would. i meant boring in that not many people write in it anymore.
from jpop :
bono is not too big too crush on. he is human as everone else is, so crushable just as you and i are. HUMAN HE IS. please make a post soon, diaryland is boring these days. tell spencer to make an account and post how CRUSHABLE BONO IS.
from adelie :
I've been in Indiana since the fourth, but I'll be back tomorrow! So, I will get in touch.
from cannet :
bono's too big to crush on! i am going to frame a big picture of him to put in our living room
from thebid :
when/if it happens, i of course will! how goes the law? email me at gmail if you have a mo'!
from workorders :

from kindbegger :
oh man! georgiana and are totally going to become best friends with ben and jerry's and chick flicks and living out our romantic fantasies through the likes of julia roberts and meg ryan. wait - i don't think that made sense. what i'm TRYING to say is that i will end up an old maid. i love you, emily bronte!
from panzuda :
thank you for letting me sleep in your home. it was so nice.
from panzuda :
we are hoping to be in provo on the 18th of august. that is so soon!! is that about when you plan on being in portland?
from workorders :
everyone is crushing on everyone... I agree.
from paperfriend :
yes! love is so in the air!
from workorders :
he he, hannah, you me up. where are you living now a days?
from all-is-light :
i hope you didn't take that personally! it's just something i've been thinking about a lot in the last weeks! love, me!
from jpop :
thank you whitepants. what if from now on, you where called hannah "whitepants" graves. like it was part of your real name. if you became president, people would say, "old whitepants is at it again with her new laws."
from panzuda :
keep it up.
from mymess :
oh hannah! what's up.
from adelie :
great new entry!
from kindbegger :
we will be BFFs asap! i will tell you all of my secrets! and let you french braid my hair!
from paperfriend :
i appreciate your thoughts hannah! my most recent entry addresses some of the issues you have mentioned.
from kindbegger :
what was your dream about?!?
from jpop :
awesome! what does that mean!
from jpop :
what was i in your email?
from gigihodges :
me me me. never stop the quotes. especially the short ones. i am a baby in the midnight hour and you are my mommy with your heart shaped sunglasses and thin swanlike neck in an apartment pool. and i have the grossly baroque body while you have the perfect modern day stick appeal. (i mean that with all the compliments in the world.) i miss talking with you over thick rich brownies and icecream on a hot stale summers day. keep me in your minds eye or your eyes mind.
from mymess :
hannah, i used to dream that the world was ending and then i dreampt that i left the church and told my mom that it wasn't true when i was talking in my sleep, before i had very conscious thoughts about how i was unsure about whether or not it was true. our brains talk to us sometimes but i am not sure about what they are saying or anything. WHATTTTS UP!
from paperfriend :
well, i had written an entry that basicly said the same thing a few days earlier, and then came across that quote that i felt succintly sumarized the idea. do you disagree? to my own self, i am more important than god, because no matter what happens i still have to go on living my life.
from gigihodges :
actually there are no spaces in the password. it is just thedeathofadiscodancer.
from gigihodges :
to get to my diary the username is "gigihodges" and my password is "the death of a disco dancer" (with spaces).i really dont care if others read this bc it is just one person i am blocking out. and not for selfish reasons either.
from paperfriend :
hannah, i really had no idea that MMP was something other people were aware of. outside of the the adam god theory i had never ever heard of it outside of avraham's class. will you tell me everything you know about it? i am composing an email to you about your brother, hopefully i will finish it soon. the thing that is hard about it for me, is i don't really feel qualified to give any advice. but i will still finish it. it is 90% complete.
from thebid :
visiting st. john the divine has been on my new york list for some time, but never quite happens. i'm jealous you were there. those spacious, less ornate cathedrals (like durham in northern england) are my favorite. not that i've been to that many, but i know they are. i was in new york at this exact time last year!
from chrisalmond :
where are you going to move? the forest?
from paperfriend :
is this conversation bugging you?
from paperfriend :
but honestly, no matter how filled with the spirit a person may be, how many people may be able to seriously understand something like the book of isaiah the temple, the book of revelations etc? if even apostles, men who i imagine have more access to the spirit than most others can disagree on the interpretations of such things, clearly the spirit as a guide to interpretion is not something that can be wholly trusted, and so what can we trust?
from paperfriend :
not that i am saying poetry, art, music, isn't good and effective. i think it is enormously effective, and often more so than just saying the idea out right, but if you don't know what idea is trying to be conveyed then it is uneffective, and sometimes even useless.
from paperfriend :
but honestly, i wish most poetry music etc. were much more direct. i think it would be far more effective that way. and i am frequently bothered when it is not. and besides, those are not things given to us by a god, who if we do not interpret them correctly the nature of our very eternity can be at stake. imagine if bach had some great message he was telling everyone would change the world, and that the answer was hidden in his symphonies, but he was going to tell you what it was, you had to figure it out yourself and if you didn't figure it out correcty he would make your life less happy.
from mymess :
anne shirley is the best. i want to be her too. forever! lets go be her. be my kindred spirit!
from passthison :
hannah, i can't stop thinking about that entry that i wrote, and how it really sounds so perfect to just run away right now! i think we would make a good pair! lets do it baby!!
from lamepoems :
Who is the guy that (sort of) blew you off?
from childeharold :
hi hannah. i like the new belle and sebastian a lot too.
from lamepoems :
Excellent entry about companions and men. I fully agree or, at least, agree as fully as a man can.
from panzuda :
i love this. it is something accidentally stumbling into my heart every second and beyond.
from adelie :
it could be the same thing. because i am disappointed in so many things!
from paperfriend :
so does that debunk your belief in one universal truth?
from paperfriend :
like, for example, there is one best type of popcorn, and it is mallow corn.
from jpop :
rock on
from lucian1054 :
You could ask her why she doesn't bother to flush. Perhaps she's afraid the toilet will take her down into the sewer with her, um, deposit.
from paperfriend :
hannah, that is so weird. why would someone do that? is she kind of crazy? some sort of comedian? (because, done as a joke it makes me laugh, but still pretty gross and inconsiderate) maybe you could crap in a box and wrap it up nice as a present. that would surprise her. especially if she turned out not to be the non flusher.
from panzuda :
the book of mormon
from paperfriend :
i already forgot.
from paperfriend :
yeah, what did you mean in lukes note?
from luityler :
what do you mean? i need to be this smart! or maybe i don't. i would only need to be smart enough to lay on the beach and swim if i had been born on a tropical islan, and i wish i had been. or do you just mean since i'm not mormon? i'm wasting brain power on old stuff?
from paperfriend :
i don't know where it is from.
from luityler :
i know where it's from. i read that book so many times, man!
from soup-kitchen :
dear hannah, please come visit us again soon! exult in the fact that you are much warmer than we are here! when you come there will be a pizza waiting for you on our living room floor. it's here already! come quickly!
from paperfriend :
hannah! i had no idea! i had no idea her name was emma! i wish i could date her!
from paperfriend :
what is the song? i am going to start listening to it.
from jpop :
whitepants i will soon post juicy gossip about you!
from gigihodges :
i am the second quote. do you hate me? be honest.
from adelie :
hannah, i wanted to talk to you the other night, our last chance! i wanted you to interrupt! and i will also call you soon. i thought about doing that today but i am already on campus in the computer lab doing a secret project that i might have already told you about. love you!
from thebid :
yes! please come see us!
from thebid :
you win! i erased your note so it wouldn't give it away. i'm not sure what you win, tho. what would you like to win? how long did it take you to figure it out?
from kindbegger :
hey hannah! i believe that the book is either at my pleasant grove house or at chris allman's house. i will get it back to you.
from chrisalmond :
that is a common misconception, but my left eye is actually the eye of the beholder. merry christophermas.
from paperfriend :
very true.
from paperfriend :
i think that can be true. but for what purpose? for pure justice? or so they can see the error of their ways and improve? what if they can see the error of their ways and improve without suffering? but even though i say all this, i can understand exactly how you feel, and have often, recently, felt just as you do.
from paperfriend :
it seems that part of the problem with wanting justice against another person is that we are not fully seeing them. i think if we fully understood that person we would be filled with love and want the best for them. how often do we do mean and hurtfulor bad things? but not because we are bad, but because we are either weak, confused, or just want to feel good somehow. oh, yeah, it is like that book we have both read, the bonds that make us free, that when we really see the truth of someone we can understand their actions, and are able to be bound to them by love.
from luityler :
my skull will do that too, now that you mention it
from adelie :
hannah, i hope your dream comes true! and i am excited to see you for thanksgiving time and i have some things to give to you and i think your brother nate thinks i am insane.
from paperfriend :
hannah, that is funny you wrote that. i was thinking about that song last night and was thinking of posting the words. kizmet.
from lucian1054 :
Hooray!!!
from troymccool :
Hannah, will you send me your address. I'm trying to write more letters. ps. What's Up.
from jpop :
no i didn't. i wouldn't say my post was a joke. it was just how i was feeling at the time. i am also trying to get into more abstract styles of writing.
from passthison :
i love you hannah!
from emptyhouse :
I locked it because google searches now show stuff from diaryland, I will probably make a password for it and let you know. All this entry said was "baaaa".
from lucian1054 :
I just sent you an odd email from a different email address (ericlyman at sisna dot come) than I've used previously. This note is just to make sure you don't delete it (the email) if it goes into your junk mail folder or something.
from miobravo :
he is serving in my home ward. he came over to the house when i was there last weekend. my mom wants us to marry too. but my sister says she can't see it happening. your predictions hold more weight than either of them, you are a baby psychic!
from troymccool :
Jesse Emig.
from lucian1054 :
The hurt wrist poem rocks. I'm awestruck.
from gigihodges :
i like the last two linse of that poem so much.
from troymccool :
OK, we can be BFF again. Would that make us BABFF's(born again best friends forever?_. No but serious time doesn't change much between bff's it was good to see you last time.
from adelie :
hannah, thanks for your entry. ps, i got your email and have been thinking about it a lot. i have been only infrequently using the internet so i'm sorry it's taking so long but i hope you remember how much i like you.
from jpop :
hannah you should be more specific in who is rascist and sexist, cause untill then people will go on doing those things if they don't recognize it. i assume mainly you are talking of probably chris and i and one or two others, looking on your list of friedns i couldn't think really of anybody else that it would fit. be specific, let us know, so that way we will at least be aware the situation ourselves.
from thebid :
thanks! i also just looked them up while i was working at the library. i'm s'posed to be able to do that sort of thing. the catalog listed four in the series, the last having something to do with marriage in the title. do you have a favorite?
from thebid :
what are the other two books in the crosswicks trilogy?
from thebid :
really it was so lovely talking with you yesterday. never before has there been such a stimulating discussion on harry potter. i hope we will meet again.
from passthison :
e-mail me your american tele number!!!
from paperfriend :
it is most likely nevada.
from adelie :
i will read that book.
from paperfriend :
i would like to read that book. i will read it and talk about it with you!!
from paperfriend :
i was only joking with my note. i could not have imagined you to have mentioned my name. even if you had felt that way.
from passthison :
WELCOME BACK THE PRINCESS OF HARRY POTTER!
from paperfriend :
why aren't you impressed by my wordcraft.
from passthison :
speaking of scientology, i just saw war of the worlds; starring our favourite tom cruise. we wish him and katie holmes the best!!... ps: i get back to america next week!! where are you?? we should go for drinks when i get back. ha, drinks....
from lucian1054 :
I am off to New York City tonight. I'll be there all week. Be sure to wave if you see me. It's highly likely that we'll run into one another. Ahem.
from passthison :
did you find a job? are you in new york? i am dying to know how your plans worked out. so please let me know! (ps: check us out, we are both on diaryland!)
from paperfriend :
that is good, because having similar interests can be helpfull in the mechanics of a marriage. you say you agreed with almost everything i said. what did you not agree with? about never having fun at dance parties?
from lucian1054 :
Hannah, thanks for replying. I'll try to write soon, but it may not be until Sunday. I have my final English 2010 paper to finish today (I'm taking a short break right now) and a date tonight (incredible! astounding! world-ending news!) and Friday and Saturday are packed. But, one of the things I'm doing tomorrow (Friday) is going to the temple, so I'll put your name on the prayer roll again.
from lucian1054 :
I would write to you, Hannah, if I had your email address. So, all I can do right now is think about you for a minute or two and hope that you'll pick up my vibes or something.
from mymess :
hannah, i know that feeling you are talking about. the old feeling. sometimes i feel it a lot, sometimes i start feeling somewhat young again, but a wise young. and a young that no longer expects anything. because she can't afford to. but still kind of young. ha. sorry i am weird.
from paperfriend :
i did not know spring city had an annual arts festival. i would like to go to it. do you remember when it is? maybe i could just look it up on www.internet.com
from paperfriend :
okay. my email address is [email protected]. please email me asap. and we can also talk about wierd stuff!
from paperfriend :
okay.tell me everything about this girl, and give me a way to contact her please hannah.
from emptyhouse :
Hannah, I will write something more to you later (email me your address in Scotland), because I'm on my way out, but I love you so, so much.
from lucian1054 :
God bless you, Hannah. Bless and comfort and love and give you everything that you need and want, in this world and the next, now and forever. I'll put your name on the temple prayer roll. Remembering sitting across the table from you in Subway and not having any idea what was eating you inside as you ate the sandwich that wasn't what you ordered, I am your friend, though we don't know each other, Eric.
from gigihodges :
[email protected] yes please.
from gigihodges :
i feel similar. lets kindle a friendship overseas please. your little and big brothers took me and jeff home from kilby court the other night. i had bad diahhrea, worked 15 hours that day in the cold and didnt even want to be there. for many other reasons as well, it was a sad state of affairs. they were so nice and warm to me though. it made me really like you even more which is weird bc it was your brothers. tell me a story.
from luityler :
when are you going to admit that that last entry was a poem?
from gigihodges :
i cant figure out how to add you...but it will be done.
from gigihodges :
hannah! this is you? i am so flattered. who knew. you are officially on my buddy list now. i hope this will be a way to k.i.t while you are abroad. what a treat.
from workorders :
hannah b0-bannah, yesturday was fast sunday. I spoke on the 21st.
from virtu :
I loved that last entry. Even if perfect explanation is impossible, I still really felt something of it. I loved it. I want to hang out this weekend so bad, and see, and laugh, and fun, and feel....tomorrow I am working a 16 hr. day. How is my life like this right now?
from workorders :
thanks for coming last night. it was really fun, and I'm glad you were there.
from virtu :
Understood. As for California, I'll sit up in/on the air until otherwise directed to descend. It may be hard for me to go, but we'll see when details get closer. It would be fun...
from virtu :
The old way? What are some of the specifics if I might ask. p.s. do you really need people to go to cali with you. I didn't mean to brush you off. I'll try if you need people, but it sounds like jeff is going. Let me know if it is "all good" or not.
from workorders :
man, I hated that "secrets journal" in high school. mostly cause amanda would put all my secrets in there for me, and they were altered to make me look like a dweeb. I think that is why I stole it.
from emptyhouse :
1. oooh, love letters! 2. isn't "the three friends" a thai dish? including shrimp, beef and chicken, or something? which of you is the beef?
from lucian1054 :
I saw _Electric Dreams_ when I was in elementary school. This was right after it came out, probably. I saw it at BYU, way back when they still showed edited nearly-new movies at the Varsity Theaters. My parents and I used to get hamburgers at the CougarEat (sp?) and then eat them in the theater. Back to the movie: it was the best thing I'd ever seen.
from lucian1054 :
Re: "It's just piano but I always think I hear someone humming along." Is it Glenn Gould playing the piano? He hums along. - Eric
from workorders :
how long do you have those movies for?
from workorders :
Hi-ya whitepants! we ought to have more diary's that start with W's. I think when I am done with workorders, I will have another W diary.

recommend this diary to a pal?
