The Fatt Boy Chronicles

I have nothing clever to say. Read my diary and judge for yourself.

My favorite diaries:

spielendgrrl profile - diary
comments: A girl I found on accident when searching for diaries from the town I live in. Her's is one of the few diaries I check on a regular basis, and she is intelligent and interesting enough that I always read four or five entries at a time.

comments: panzer-kitty turned me on to his diary. I immediately read ten entries or so. He's funny and sincere. I find myself thinking that we could be good friends if he lived anywhere near me.

My favorite music:

The Clash
comments: The Only Band That Matters. I'm only sorry I never got to see them live. Although Joe Strummer still put on a hell of a show before he died.
Ben Folds Five
comments: Witty and silly and somber, sometimes all at the same time. Sadly, they are no longer.
Pilfers
comments: One of the greatest live bands I've ever seen. Sadly, they also are no longer.
Liz Phair
comments: One of the coolest chicks on the planet. Exile in Guyville is maybe the best CD ever.
Flogging Molly
comments: I've never heard a song by them that I didn't like. I've seen them almost a half dozen times in the last year alone.

My favorite movies:

Unforgiven
comments: Maybe the most moving film I've ever seen. When Clint Eastwood reverts to being a ruthless killer I nearly cry every time.
Leaving Las Vegas
comments: A truly heartbreaking film.
Silence of the Lambs
comments: A great thriller that also works as a great character study.
Heat
comments: Another great character study. It never gets the credit it deserves.
Too many others to list
comments: I end up liking different stuff at different times. My taste in movies is all over the map, from silent comedies to italian horror films.

My favorite authors:

J.D. Salinger
comments: Only someone this good could write such dated material and still have it be powerful today.
Kurt Vonnegut
comments: A great satirist. I'm sorry he's not writing anymore.
Michael Chabon
comments: I only wish I could write such well rounded characters.
Nick Hornby
comments: A very funny man who writes about situations that seem very true to me.
Dave Eggers
comments: A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius was so good it makes me want to die.

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
